This secluded and eccentric little cafe is by far one of Adelaide's hidden gems, with affordable pricing, large portion sizes and delicious vegetarian burgers. Although it is run by one person there are always people there. I would definitely recommend (my favourite menu item) the mediterranean burger, for it's fresh, gourmet ingredients and perfectly balanced flavours.

We ordered the mushroom burger but there was no mushroom? Just the regular veggie patty??? Lots of fresh veggies in the burger. A half size burger was enough for me - $12. It was huge! Curious to see the full size burger. 😬
Food’s fresh and tastes homemade. Downside: 50c for water ?!
There’s just one guy running the place. He is nice. The space is small and very eclectic.

this place is run by a single person . I very polite and a calm person I have tried the vegan burgers here twice and I was surprised each time. I love the lemon grass tea as well. the only thing is this place opens for for a small amount of time and is full most of the times get there before 12ish to get served
Tasty wholesome & delicious. Even my usual meat eating partner & friends liked it. Love that you can order half serves. HATE that you pay for water - is that even legal? (almost a deterrent to not come back for me) NOT disabled friendly! Although if your looking for a tasty vego meal, it is a Adelaide vego favourite.
I'm not a vegetarian but I grew very fond of Vego n love'n It burgers. The small eatery is located on the first floor which you have to climb a flight of steep stairs to reach but that aside, the service is good n the burgers are great. I'm content with a half serve burger and fresh juice.
This an all time favourite for me! My first visit i was a bit overwhelmed with the space but have grown to love it. The veggie burgers are the best you'll ever have!
I have been coming here for years and never get tired of it. Even if you are a carnivore you will not miss meat here. My faves are the Mexican chilli burger and the Mediterranean burger. All washed down with a smoothie. The burgers are huge but you can order a half serve.
Excellent food. While the door signs were a bit rude ('do not knock' 'kitchen closes when I say so') the guy running it was pretty nice. Food arrived very quickly too. The Thai burger I got based on the reviews here, and it was a good choice! I got a half size and it was huge and delicious. Decor is unique (kind of cozy retro) and very interesting! Only other problem was the wait outside the door for the cafe to empty enough. All in all a delicious meal with good service and cozy pleasant atmosphere.
I was here with friends and the place itself was very cosy, there was stuff strewn everywhere as though it was someone's house, but it didn't feel messy, just cosy. I'm normally a very diligent meat eater and love my meats, but I had one of their burgers and fries here, and they were surprisingly tasty. I wasn't expecting this, but I would definitely one back for more.
I love, *love* this place. The burgers are amazing, with the softest rolls you can imagine. I had the Bali burger this afternoon, and although it wasn't as good as my usual (the Thai burger) it was still amazing. And the half size left me happily full. The only issue with this place is their hours: I wish they did dinner occasionally.
Such a cute little secluded cafe. It's very cosy indeed and I don't mind the squishyness. Sucks that there isn't more room though. Great that it has a lot of vegan stuff but doesn't cater to gluten frees much - I could only have a lentil burger with gf bread (which is smaller but cheaper so good deal) as the gf wraps weren't vegan. All in all would definitely go again!
We discovered this restaurant by accident and stopped in because two of our group are vegos and the other loves burgers. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. So much so that my partner and I had to come back the next day (and our last day in Adelaide). As others have said the venue is small, quirky and with good food. Anyone who lives in Adelaide is lucky to have such a brilliant vegan restaurant available to them.
The worst thing about this place is the opening times! it seems like its hardly ever open which is very frustrating. However the burgers here are amazing and by far my favorite vegan burgers in Adelaide. I would 100% recommend getting the Vamp burger. its extremely satisfying and filling! Also the soy milkshakes are delicious too!
I love this place! Burgers and shakes are delicious. Only negative is the opening hours, which is a huge annoyance (oh and that you have to pay for water... But maybe I'm just being stingy haha)

Gluten free options are pretty limited unfortunately. When last we went even their soy milk had gluten - disappointing!

Generous portions leaving you feeling fresh and full. Tasty even for meat-lovers! Quirky atmostphere, a little OTT and staff seems slightly uninterested. Good value for money.

Guilt-free Gut Fillers. Who knew vegetarian and vegan food could taste so fabulous? I'm no soy fan, but was well and truly won over by the tempei burger served up to me today. It was accompanied with a flavoursome relish, lettuce, tomato and tahini paste on a brown bun. One gets more than they bargained for size wise. Mine was too large to manage, so I'll lean towards a half next time!
I've recently had to make drastic alterations to my diet, meaning most meats and dairy are limited. This place is a dream and I can't wait to return for another tasty dish on their enticing menu.
I have brought many carnivorous friends to Vego's and they LOVE it! The burgers are enormous and unbelievably tasty. The juices are nice. The decor is bizarre and beautiful - a 70s explosion. I love this place so much. It is, however, often packed with people (it's very small) - and sometimes they close the door and don't let you inside if they're too full! A sign on the door says "Closed: whenever we feel like it!" which is true...very occasionally it is inexplicably not open. The male owner can be quite gruff, but he makes up for it with the incredible food, quick service, and awesome ambiance!
Vego and Lovin’ It is a quirky little vegan place hidden behind a bright yellow door fame and then up a steep narrow flight of stairs off Rundle St in the CBD. The place is tiny! Lots of random 70′s op shop furniture crammed in and an even randomer (it’s a word if I say it’s a word) bunch of stuff on the walls. Also on the walls is the menu. A bunch of burgers, soup, a few drinks. Most things can be made gluten free (if they’ve remembered to buy the bread). There are never any specials though the soup will occasionally change if the owner feels like something different. Actually the owners whims seem to run this place; he’s well known for being eccentric. Closing early or not opening at all. Limiting customer numbers for no apparent reason. Whether or not the owner is in an odd mood it’s pretty hard to get a table here during rush hour, it gets packed out with people hanging out in the stairwell waiting for a seat or two to be free. Best to go early or late. I’ve been here a few times

It is hard to notice this cosy place if you pass by Rundle Street as it is situated on Level 1 just right beside the shop 'Naked'. Climbing up flight of stairs, the interior mismatches the contemporary Rundle Street due to the quirkiness. The boss has decorated the restaurant in his eccentric way with pastel, mosaic-border frames and stacks of CDs. You can never find the same decoration anywhere else. There is also an old fridge in the middle of the walkway where you can get your drinks from. You just feel like at home!

I'm always hesitant to catch up with old school friends for meals since choosing to eat a vegan diet. If I had a dollar for every time I was asked to explain why I'm vegan, I wouldn't be here writing a blog at 8pm on a Thursday night. When Liz asked to catch up with me while she was back in Australia and told me she was a vegetarian, I jumped at the chance to set-up a lunch date at Vego and Love'n It. When I actually met Liz, she confessed to me that "I'm mostly vegetarian except I eat animals my mates hunt in Canada, I can't remember what the name of that diet is".
It’s lunch time and our motley crew at work is hungry? What’s quick, tasty, relatively healthy and nearby? The burgers at Vego and Love’n It! We knew what to expect from our previous visit so this time, it was a matter of snagging a seat and trying something different from their menu.
