Review Lucky Lupitas - Adelaide

Carlton Dsilva
Good proportion sizes but their food was often lacking in balance. We had their burrito, bowl, and enchiladas. All of their ingredients are fresh, but nothing spectacular or justifiable of the prices charged. Could very well get the same quality of food for a lot less money. Good vibe and friends staff was probably what ultimately compensated for the average food.

Nice spacious Mexican atmosphere, friendly staff. Had the pork belly taco and slow cooked lamb. Asked for hard shell taco as the waiter said it was possible, but got served soft shell. Pork belly was good, and juicy. Lamb was alright. Onion rings were crispy but its quite a small serve. Burrito was packed with rice and a little bit of meat. Crispy nachos on the side were flavoursm but so few pieces. It was OK overall, expected more for the price. Enchiladas were tasty and saucy, the best on the menu.

Great customer service and menu selection. Chicken wings and beef tacos were awesome, lamb and chicken tacos a little more generic. Got a couple of rum cocktails and tasted great. Clearing away tables and ordering more drinks was delayed but all in all will be back to try more dishes.

Dinner at @luckylupitasadl! They've been closed for ages since covid started last year, and we're very glad that they're back open! It's not the most authentic Mexican food, but it tastes good ☺️. . Chicken wings: can't go wrong with these! Crunchy and delicious 🤤. . Guacamole with corn chips: again, can't really go wrong with them. Always tasty. Although the portion could have been bigger 😅. . Salt and pepper squid: nicely done. Lightly battered and tasty! . A selection of tacos: all were delicious! I especially loved the prawn taco and the fish taco 🤤. . Prawn fajitas: super tasty dish! Prawns were super tender and yummy 🤤🤤. . Pork ribs: this is the only dish that was a bit disappointing. The ribs were not tender enough. It was hard to get the meat off of the bone. It should be falling off. The flavour was good at least.

Tortilla taste burnt. Squid is hard and chewy. Corn "elotes" is really good.

Best Mexican we've had. Corn cobs are a must have. We also had a mix of tacos and tye fajitas, delicious. I was so distracted by the food when it came out forgot to take photos.

You would think that you couldn’t go wrong with nachos at a Mexican restaurant, right? Wrong. The balance of the dish was completely out. The corn chips by themselves might have been a tasty snack served alone, but with this dish, they were overly flavored and collided with the other flavors (particularly the chicken). Guacamole and and other sides came at additional cost which made a pretty average serve of nachos very expensive. The corn on the cob was OK, again a lot of things going on, and could have been more simple. The beef taco was good, nice pulled beef brisket and less competing flavor was more. The atmosphere inside was busy, loud, and more dining hall style for my taste. We opted to sit outside and I’m not sure if this is why the service was a bit slow for us. Overall the experience was a bit disappointing compared to the good old days in Bedford Park.

My friend enjoyed her vegan burrito and I loved my vegetarian Enchiladas. The atmosphere let’s you think you’re in a different country. The food is good will try their meat options next. Hope they can improve their overall customer service though as one of the front staff is not very welcoming. (Maybe she isn’t having a great day so understandable! Lol)
Melissa
Absoluely amazing! Have never been to a Mexican restaurant before and was not disappointed. We tried the pork taco, corn on the cob, nachos, chicken enchiladas and the frozen margarita. I could not fault any of it! The service was amazing too, friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back!

Do They Have Cold Brew?
We were there for a late dinner on taco tuesday and the tacos were geneous and delicious. I had the apple taco for dessert and it was incredible. Will definitely be back when I'm next in Adelaide.

This is our second visit here and it is okay. It definitely is not the best Mexican food I have had but it was okay. The chipotle chicken enchilada was dry unfortunately and was not overly thermally hot. The lamb enchilada was good but needed hot sauce to make it good Mexican food. The apple and cinnamon enchilada was apparently really good. The creme brûlée was ok. Margarita was not cold as you would expect. I definitely will wait for my next Mexican fix when I return to USA.

This place had great service and good food. The look is also really trendy and close to other places. I went with a group and friends and we got our food in good time but there wasn’t that many people there anyway.
Mallory Shinkfield
Delicious Mexican restaurant with a great atmosphere and lots of vegan and vego options. I had the vegan burrito with guacamole. <br/>The sangrias were also amazing :)
Twinklelittlestar
My friends and I decided to go with the chef’s ‘feed me’ menu - a choice we regretted, as we were mistakenly given all vegan entrees. We thought it was odd when the first main dish that came out was also vegan, and so questioned staff. We would’ve appreciated it if they admitted to the mistake and swapped the first main for a meat dish, but they denied the mishap. Had the food been flavourful and delicious, this wouldn’t have been a problem. But unfortunately all the dishes were bland. The ‘crispy’ squid dish was also soggy and drenched in oil. It was a disappointing dinner and we felt stomach pains afterwards. We’re surprised the zomato rating is so high. A disappointing experience :(
Foodie Paradise
I absolutely love Lucky Lupitas! This place has the best Mexican food and my favourite is definitely the nachos! I recently came here for dinner with a group of people and we decided to go for the $35pp shared menu. At first, I was worried the food wasn’t going to be enough, but the staff told me most people can’t finish the food. So, challenge accepted! They kept bring loads and loads of food and while we thought they’d bought the last dishes, the food just kept coming! I must say we were all defeated! It’s so worth the money and the food is so good!

I’ve been keen to try Lucky Lupitas for a while now and finally got around to trying it this week. I took my vegetarian friend there as they had many options on their menu however, they crossed out all but two (excluding elotes) which was a shame BUT it was their first day open after Christmas. I had the beef brisket bowl which was quite tasty and had a good amount of spice. The drinks were very nice and reasonably priced. The only other downside is that they don’t do split bills which is annoying but que será

If you don't leave feeling like you're going to die from overeating than you haven't had the full experience.

We are lucky lupitas for finding this place! The beef brisket nachos - dear lord, they are to die for. <br/><br/>The staff were very knowledgeable in the menu and helped us work out which dishes would be the perfect amount for the two of us to share. <br/>

My workmate has chosen this place for our get together because it was highly rated from Zomato. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. One of the things I did appreciate that night was the staff and for that it deserves a point. The ambience was good. On a Friday night, it was busy that we need to make a booking. I did find that it was a tad loud so you do have to talk louder to your companion so if you want an intimate date, then maybe not here. We had ordered the fish taco, delicious! Highly recommend that. Crisp and refreshing. The pork belly with guacamole was not a hit for me. Maybe it was the mushy avocado on salad that was not an interesting texture for me. We also had the mushroom quesadilla which was pleasant. The margaritas was alright. Overall the experience was nice. I will come back for the fish taco for sure.
Marie
Good food overall, service was the iffy part. Food came out all at once (entrees and mains) which gave it more a take away eat and run vibe. Plates were cleared too quickly meaning I didn’t get to finish. Prob wouldn’t go back but at least I tried it
Bobby Sledteam
GET THE CORN. Squid was great. Did I mention the corn? Corn was b e a uuuutiful. And I dont even like parmesan. Get a few things to share for the table. Not your typical sloppy-plated nachos. Refreshing mexican.
Sara
The food was delicious, the staff were welcoming and helpful, and the interior stylish and comfortable! We ordered the food to share (2 entrees and 2 mains), and both left happy and full. Will be ordering less next time purely to make sure we have room for the dessert which sounds and looks amazing!

Excellent food and fun atmosphere- busy- so try and avoid peak service times to ensure you get a good table. <br/>Always take note of the specials so you don’t miss out on anything amazing!

Visited here tonight by a random chance and really enjoyed my meal. Every workers is extremely friendly and has great knowleadge of menu and specials which helped a lot in my finally choice. For starter I had the elope (corn on the cob) which was alright it was not the best I had, had but it was still tasty and well cooked. For main I shared the slow cooked lamb enchiladas and a pulled beef brisket burrito bowl. Both meats were extremely tasty, the lamb was so light and well flavoured it was amazing. For drinks we had a dos larger beer and the mad on mars moscato which was fantastic. Overall good flavours, very kind service, great location and awesome atmosphere. Only way to improve atmosphere would be music that reached the outside tables as I would’ve loved to hear the likes of Buena vista social club whilst I loved each moment of my food. Last note the pricing is great, for two meals two entrees and drinks I spent under $75 dollars which is amazing. <br/><br/>Defiantly give this place a go!

We were shown to our table & brought a complimentary small bowl of pepitas & spicy nuts but the bowl spilled over the table so the waiter scraped them up & said he'd bring another. He never returned. <br/>We enjoyed a burger with cheese & fries and a beef burrito with guacamole. They were both messy to eat which I always find satisfying.<br/>The waitresses were pleasant & helpful.<br/>We'd be happy to return.

I heard about Lucky's from word of mouth. Nice atmosphere with good quality, authentic tasting menu items. I ordered a burrito and it was a bit too spicy for me, so maybe check if chilli is added beforehand. Still recommended, will be going back :)
Only If Its Good
What an atmosphere! Walked in and greeted with a smile bigger than O'Connell St itself. The staff were certainly welcoming and happy to see us. The room is light, airy and welcoming. When seated, you are given a small bowl of spicy nibbles and water. My companion ordered himself a beer, of course. I, personally loved the name, Queen of the Night Pale Ale. There is also a beer called Death Rides a Pale Horse Blond Ale, so if anyone tries that one, tell us what it's like.<br/><br/>The menu is choc full of just delicious. Then I turn to my left and what have we here? A Ceviche special. Mmmmmmm mm! Tuna and watermelon Ceviche!<br/><br/>Read the rest of the review on my blog

Void of anything worthwhile to say about this place. I found the menu exciting but everything ordered was disappointing. The guacamole, prawn tostada, grilled chicken taco and pulled beef burrito all lacked spice and flavour. The service was poor too, had to ask several times for drinks to be brought out, and extra serves of the tortillas...either a really unlucky night to visit this restaurant or it’s just not the best.
Australianv
Well....isnt this place exceptionally overrated. It's not terrible but if you are looking for fast food style Mexican then this is your place. It would probably be appropriate for take out but not of the effort of going out for dinner. On the plus, it was a very cheap bill for a table of four and we got a free mains voucher for a return visit.. That I shall give to someone else.

I was really looking forward to coming here since it was rated so high by the locals. We ordered 3 dishes and we only love the duck taco. Chicken taco and beef quesadilla feels a little Chinese cooking to me, which we were looking to taste more like Mexican style. So we were quite disappointed. (We are both Singaporean Chinese)<br/><br/>But nevertheless the service is great and ambience is really good. Would recommend for group meals to have it here.

Great value for money and delicious Mexican. Came here with my family and it was really good fun. It is casual, cheap alcohol and good Mexican. The food is fresh. We had the fish, crab burrito and steak fajitas. Steak fajitas was the highlight!

Visited Lupitas in September after having wanting to try this restaurant for a few months. Had heard positive reviews but put it off as their menu seemed limited for vegetarians. Finally, on a chance evening, I dined here...and the experience lived up to expectations. Ordered menu favourites nachos, Mushroom Taco, grilled corn, guacamole, and grilled eggplant; and also the mushroom quesidilla and Mexican donut balls for dessert. Of these dishes tried, the only one that didn't suit my palate was the eggplant - others have enjoyed this dish, but I prefer a softer texture (personal taste). I'm also a spice head, so I loved the trio of hot sauces provided at the table. Service was friendly, attentive and fast - great team! Highly recommend a visit! I'm already looking forward to my next... <br/><br/>

The beef brisket burrito is very good, the meat is tasty and perfectly cooked. This was far nicer than the soft shell crab. Chicken quinoa was also delicious. Service was brilliant, by staff who love their restaurant. Dined with 50% dimmi code, so fantastic value. Not a fan of the long blue bench, that sits with your back touching a strangers table. It's hard to get in, hard to get out and too close to the personal space of others. Not a huge Mexican fan, but I did enjoy the food
EvilRobotSanta
My wife really loves this place. The food is just as good as in Mexico, but its a bit pricy. Try the ribs they are both sweet and savory. We will be back

We booked this place over zomato. Super easy. The friendly service from staff stood out the most to us. A hip modern looking place on the inside. The food does come out at random times but we didn't mind as we were in a date night. For mains we tried the chicken lime salad and lamb enchiladas. However, the corn was by far our favourite food that we ordered.

I've been visiting lucky lupitas since it's old location near Flinders medical centre. Loved loved loved the food there... The new location in North Adelaide is still above average but something from the old place is lacking. And I'm not sure what that is... Don't get me wrong, they still serve tasty Mexican cuisine but it's just not the same as before...
Food_adl7
My wife called to make a booking, but to also check if they could accommodate a food constraint (allergy). They made fun of her in Spanish (they didn't know we'd understand). Very unprofessional, good thing we didn't waste our money...<br/>

I went last night with a friend and lied it here so much! I can't wait to go back already! The tacos were yummy and a great entree size and price and the burrito bowl was sooo good too! The service was upbeat and the vibe was nice. Sangria was good-strong! Definitely a must try if you're a fan of Mexican 🌶
Hamish Cameron
Food here was good, but I wouldn't rate a 4.5 (admittedly in general I think it's hard for Mexican to get a rating that high). It's a nice venue with modern decor in great location. Staff are pretty good. I preferred the seafood options (crap burrito, prawn tacos). Found the meat dishes to be less enjoyable - a hit too much happening. We spent 260 for 4 adults and 5 kids (inc alcohol) which I thought was relatively good value.

Fantastic nachos and service!!<br/><br/>It was such a delight to be here last Saturday night, and managed to get in time before it started to get busy, so ordering and being seated weren't rushed.<br/><br/>As soon as we were seated, we were served some nuts and other spiced savoury sweets from the waiter to share, and began the ordering process. In order to try out some of the things you wouldn't normally get elsewhere (like tacos and burritos), we decided to order four different dishes as follows:<br/><br/>1) Nachos (veg. $13.90)<br/>2) Veracruz Grilled Squid & Arroz ($17.90)<br/>3) Slow Cooked Lamb Enchiladas ($22.50)<br/>4) Tortila Lasagna ($18.90)<br/><br/>Can I just say that these were the best nachos I've ever tasted?! I know nachos with the whole salsa, black beans and sour cream thing isn't hard to make, but there was just something distinct and delicious about these nachos! Oh and not mention, the grilled squid with tomato rice was also smack bang delicious.<br/><br/>The lamb enchiladas was also a hit as it was something new and yum! It tasted a little funny on the palette at first, but once you start digging in more, there is no going back! The tortilla lasagne was a bit too unusual for the palette, and there just seemed something off about it. Perhaps I wasn't too much of a fun of the mushrooms they used (gave off a pungent kind of smell), or the whole tortilla texture as it became a somewhat stale soggy base instead. But everyone's tastebuds are different and the lasagna wasn't really my thing.<br/><br/>But overall, I would definitely come back to this place! Fab food and service (oh and music)!!<br/>

We came here for a pre footy game feed. Staff were friendly enough and the restaurant has a chilled relaxed vibe. Food was ok, nothing really wowed me but it was perfect for a fast meal in a hurry. I'd really liked the prawn taco and the eggplant taco was also quite tasty with tempura eggplant and black beans. Would go again for a quick meal.

I'm not known for giving 5 stars very often but this place is simply the best Mexican food I have had the pleasure of eating in Australia<br/><br/>The quality of the food is backed up by quick professional and helpful service in a great setting, not to mention affordable<br/><br/>Try the duck tacos if you go<br/>

What an awesome place!! Had heard on the grapevine to come and check this place out and am very glad we did. This has 2be my favourite Mexican place to date, and that is saying quite alot as I unfortunately rarely rate my Mexican cuisine outings. <br/>Place has funky decor, super friendly service (shout out to Sam the French Man 😊😊), very quick on the food delivery, great value for money & best of all- flavour is a stand out for sure!! Five of us chose the $32 banquet option & it was so worth it. All the food was pretty awesome, but fave for me was Lucky's Elote (corn cob seasoned with Chipotle Mayo & cheese), the beef brisket nachos, and the salad dish was only a side accompaniment but just awesome- the flavours of salad greens w/ feta, corn chips, salsa & dried cranberries was a deelish way to finish our mains. We all shared the dessert plate & was pleasantly surprised to know a flan tastes quite deelish! <br/>Topped off with classic margaritas and Spanish soda pop & the option of being able to buy some salsa & hot sauce choices to take home, the night was so enjoyable, I will indeed return 👌

Went for dinner last night and was extremely un-impressed. <br/>The food was ok and the waitors were nice enough but nothing overwhelming. <br/>My partner and I chose to go there for date night and no thought was put into bringing out our meals at the same time, it really ruined our evening. <br/>The waiter brought out my partners meal about 2 mins after we ordered (which was kind of odd?) and didn't bring out mine until my partner had already finished. <br/>I had to sit there and watch him eat and he had to sit there and aatch me eat, rather than enjoy it together.<br/>Probably won't return and wouldn't reccomend going here if you want to share a nice meal with your partner.

Amazing food for groups, lots of small plates and some very innovative and tasty drinks! Quirky decor and fun friendly staff. Make sure you try the mango and jalapeño margaritas and some nachos!! The elote is also fantastic
Ross Bee
Food was very good. The staff are very friendly. I had the beef nachos and they were a good size. I was still feeling hungry at the end so a chorizo burrito was a nice touch on the end
Nick Stillwell
No complaints - had a great meal here. Prawn fajitas are amazing! Guacamole was tasty! Good selection of beers and cocktails. Will return for sure.

After seeing the strong zomato ratings I thought this place was worth a visit with a friend. We decided to see how their entrees were before thinking about ordering something more substantial. <br/>We ordered a grilled chicken mini quesadilla and softshell crab taco. <br/>The softshell crab  taco was probably the better dish with the combination of the freshly fried crab and pickled vegetables with the soft taco. The chicken quesadilla is not one of the better ones I have had, with somewhat tough rather than toasted bread. <br/>The waitresses were friendly, pleasant and attentive. <br/>Overall I would say it is reasonable Mexican food and that portions are reasonable for the prices.
Ame Dimeski
Relaxed and generous servings. The tacos were all very tasty and interesting great service too. The nachos were good as an entree to share. A great place for a first date.
Ally Sinclair
Absolutely delicious food. The flavours are nice and strong and there's a nice mix of them too. Then only real issue is that They're meant to have a sharing sort of menu however it's more just inconsistent portion sizing that comes out. Be sure to ask how big your meal is. Otherwise try their range of drinks as well as food.
Magda Nosal
Hibiscus mojito was delicious. They were not shy with the alcohol - packed a punch! Beef brisket nachos came out super quick which was awesome. Very tasty. Chicken burrito better than Zambrero, sorry Zambrero fans. Staff were lovely. I'll be back 🌮🌯
Possum Traveller
I was expecting more based on prior reviews.<br/>Service was pretty slow - my drink , all they had to do was tackled the cap off a bottle of beer, arrived after my food order. The food tasted fine. I had a fajitas. But the plate was cold, so the food was quickly luck warm. Disappointing really.<br/>

Went with a group of friends to try Lucky in its new North Adelaide location. We smashed our way through the banquet option and then ordered our favourites again. That mushroom tortilla thing in particular is a mouth watering flavour bomb. Wow. Great food. Professional service. Fresh flavours....
Two Fat Cullos
Been here a few times and never disappointed. The food is amazing, that staff very friendly and the vibe created is always buzzing. One of the visits we had a group of 6 and the set 8 course menu highly recommend this if your in a big group as you get a great variety of dishes and you will literally leave rolling out the door!

I had the pleasure of eating at Lucky Lupitas a couple of times when it was in Bedford Park. The experience at the new venue in North Adelaide was not so positive. The $55 carafe of Margherita lacked flavour (and alcohol) and was obviously a premix. The Nachos was full of flavour but the beef brisket that came with it was in large pieces and it was difficult to eat. The smoked lamb enchilada had good flavour but the texture was mush as was the prawn taco which came with two of the most pathetic looking prawns I have ever seen and a mushy slaw filling that resembled sludge. The saving grace was the Pork Al Pastor taco that had great texture and flavour, so we ordered a couple more. The atmosphere was lively but I got the impression that LL's was now all about mass produced food rather than quality produce, which is disappointing based on my previous experience. The most disappointing aspect was seeing the special board with ceviche as we got up to leave, none of the staff had told us about the specials, and I love ceviche. I experienced great, fresh Mexican food and drink on a recent trip to America, sadly lucky's doesn't even come close. Won't be going back by choice!

At first glance it was hopeful but the unfortunate food quality and authenticity will let down any soul looking for a decent Mexican feed. <br/><br/>Let's start with what was good, white wine sangria was a hit with fresh strawberries, pear and apples. The corn was also a winner (recommend cutting off the core). That's unfortunately the extent of what was authentic or satisfying. <br/><br/>The taco's we had prawn and crab which both were with pickled cabbage and no sign of any coriander or chilli. There was another we didn't choose as it had prawn and kimchi? Last time I checked it was Korean? <br/><br/>Corn chips were nice but the tomato salsa was missing fresh ingredients, coriander and lack of Mexican flavours, guacamole was over whipped and melted cheese was smoked. <br/><br/>The main we had the spinach enchilada which came out more Greek with not a hint of Mexican spice, soaked in cheese and more like a spanakopita. (Dare I mention there was burgers on the menu) 🍔🤦🏼‍♀️<br/><br/>Disappointing as we left disinterested to even explore dessert. There is a hidden Mexican gem apparently in Salisbury I'm off to investigate?? <br/><br/>Good luck and hope some Mexican love can inspire this potential restaurant 🌮
Bugjammed
Wasn't keen. Was hopeful to enjoy some good Mexican food and was really disappointed. Overpriced and meals were small and boring. Burrito came and it was just a rather small burrito on a plate with nothing else. Menu read like it had coleslaw and beans and Mexican rice on the side as Mexican restaurants usually do but it meant it was just a little bit of these inside the actual burrito. Nachos were terrible "corn chips" were funny tasting deep fried tortillas?? If your looking for a good hearty Mexican meal go somewhere else. The service was nice though!
Leah Hope Uy
Went here for a small bite. Service was fast and the tacos were delicious!! We had the fish chicken and duck tacos and they were yum! No complaints there. They are a little pricey for 1 taco but worth it. Also the corn was so good! The cheese and sauce they put on that corn makes it more than just corn lol<br/>Can't wait to go back and try more

Went here for dinner last night with friends <br/>We had a variety of dishes and we all shared with each other <br/>The tacos were amazing,I had chorizo one and it was so nice,it was so fresh an full of flavour.<br/>Then our mains came out,the 24hr cooked ribs were unbelievable, literally the meat fell off the bone and there was so much flavour,<br/>My favourite was the beef brisket with black beans an rice, it was a flavour bomb in your mouth,I've never had brisket with that much flavour before, and then to soak it all up with beans an rice was heavenly <br/>The only gripe I had was that with 4 people and all the food it was a bit tight for room, but apart from that was excellent, the service was great too
Mouse Croghan
Took my teenagers and my friend and hers. <br/><br/>They loved their food and trendy Mexican soft drinks. <br/><br/>The adults were happy too. Great friendly service casual and fun. <br/><br/>I had the special as I often do. The pulled beef with chorizo and black beans. Awesome. <br/><br/>Fun place and a welcome addition to the limited Mexican joints in Adelaide that you would actually want to go to.

A good place to enjoy Mexican food!! Great location, lovely staff. Portion sizes are perfect for the price. The quality of product was excellent. The food was full of flavor. The atmosphere was cool, I enjoy the music. <br/><br/>I would like that all the food coming at the same time because some had to wait. I recommend Flan de Cajeta 😍😍<br/><br/>I would go back again!
Marcus
Probably my favourite Mexican in Adelaide, not the most authentic food, but always delicious. Great ambience, reasonably priced food, cool deco, whats not to like? I'll keep coming back.

Met up with some friends here and had a meal with drinks. Good serving sizes and we loved the drinks menu.<br/>casual atmosphere, enjoyable and pleasant.

I came with a group of friends on a Friday night to find the place buzzing with diners. Great vibes with fun  upbeat music and great choice of decor - resembling the streets of Mexico. The food came out fast, service was fast, food was great with great flavours. Will dine again
NowayJose
this mexican mob, doesn't matter where their restaurant is, bedford park, north adelaide or what i've heard that is soon to be in hawthorn, always serves good food and delivers value for money. <br/><br/>make sure to try the nachos with beef brisket and black beans!
Nhi Mai
Have been here once at their FMC location and once their new north Adelaide location. Both times the experience has been pleasant. Food is nice with distinctive flavours and textures. Some dishes did not suit my mother's Asian biased palate but, I and the rest of my family enjoyed the dishes we ordered quite a bit. The interior of their new store is also very interesting and industrial like. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for the experience. Staff are wonderfully friendly too.
Styleandtravel -
Food quite tasty and flavorsome. But just disappointed with the servings size. Some dishes were to share, but it was more good for 1 person. <br/>Great service though from the staff and very attentive and bubbly.

Do love lucky Lupitas. Been here a few times now though it takes me 45 minutes from bloody semaphore. Everytime we enjoy a good meal with prmopt service, so what else do you really need?
Famished
I'd heard Lucky Lupitas has a solid reputation, and have been keen to try for quite some time as Adelaide lacks in decent Mexican restaurants.<br/><br/>On the day of our visit, my friends and I ordered a few plates to share. Everything we tried was fresh and tasty. We were disappointed that they had run out of ingredients for the veggie burger, but the quality of what was available, along with the friendly service, made up for that. I would suggest booking ahead and visiting on a Sunday like we did to avoid the crowds.<br/><br/>It looks like this pop-up is here to stay.

We had not ventured out to Lucky Lupitas at Bedford park so were pretty excited to see it had temporarily relocated to O'Connell street. We went early on Saturday night and were seated fast, orders were taken and the food came out also really quickly. We had a mix of things, the beef tostada was nice but a bit awkward to eat. The short rib was delicious and the three tacos we shared were fresh and tasty. We tried the vegetarian, prawn and duck. The duck was by far our favourite but the others were nice also.
Courtney Hurst
Love, love, love! The staff were so friendly and polite, the meals came out so quick and they were nice and hot and so so so tasty! I recommend the quesadilla 🌮🌯😁

Since moving to North Adelaide, it appears LL has reduced the size of their meals and increased the price. I understand that they'd be paying a premium to rent the new premises. However, paying $16.50 for a menu item does not warrant a sizeable main which it did at Bedford Park and rather an entree. This was a problem for my dinner companions, three of who ordered the tostadas. I lucked out and ordered the chipotle burger which was bloody delicious. The kitchen did forget my order but the floor staff intervened and offered me my food for free. Overall, it was a positive experience for me, but was slightly dampened by the others at my table having to eat dinner prepared for ants.

Lucky lupitas at Bedford park was one of my favorite eateries in Adelaide for a while there, it was a 10/10 every single time I went there without fail. The best Mexican in Adelaide. However the last time we went there before they moved to their Transit Store on O'Connell Street it was average. And once again tonight my first visit to the Transit Store was underwhelming. The beef quesadilla contained large chunks of beef instead of pulled beef like it use to which didn't taste as nice or as tender. The beef burger with jalapeños and avocado was also quite average. Once upon a time the burger at Lucky's Bedford park was voted the best in Adelaide. Tonight's burger didn't even compare and it's a shame how much the food has changed and fallen in taste and quality. The beef patty actually tasted old and sub par quality ground chuck. The service was ok, the fitout is cool for something temporary. I would give the transit store a 2/5, however because of so many fond memories of Bedford park and the hope that they return to that standard I rate Lucky's 3/5. Worth an eat if you're feeling like Mexican
Wig Pitz
Staff were amazing and really helpful but selection of beers was a bit average. As having a Hispanic boyfriend, he knew what was good and he thought the choices were a bit mundane, where as I enjoy anything with a foreign name 😉<br/>Music was so great we were dancing all night while eating the delicious tacos and tostadas, definitely a choice to make when going to lucky lupitas. As for Alejandro, he opted for the burger (in a Mexican restaurant?) but thought it was spectacular. The drinks a little over priced, the queso tasted like plastic, guacamole needed more salt and lime for a zest but the decor was very industrial and music was basically the highlight. As for going back? Maybe with a large group of friends and lots of drinks, just so we can dance all night to the music <br/>

Came back to dine with lucky lupitas but different area this time. No longer at fmc it's at o'Connell street. The restaurant is more spacious, more seatings available and service is a lot better. When I last dine at FMC, I swear that I will not be back with those rude and arrogant staffs but my friends have been persuasive telling me it's different and it's better. <br/><br/>Services - tick definitely different. Staffs are friendly and welcoming. Definitely 360degree change of attitude. Food n drinks service was really fast. I was very surprise and impressed. I think we placed order and the first dish was served within 10minutes. <br/><br/>Food - it is quite tasty but serving is quite small for the value. The special rib chimmichuri sauce with coconut rice and pickle cabbage was tasty but for $12.90, you only get one individual rib with small amount of rice n cabbage. Combo flavour is good, the acidity from the pickle cabbage makes you wanting the rice n ribs more. Famous side for Mexican - elote!!! Yes grilled corn. It is to die for every time you walk in to a Mexican restaurant. Lucky lupitas has theirs with plenty of cheese and some peppercorn. When you have a mouthful, you can taste a mouthful of cheese and some smokey grilled taste. It was lovely. The tacos are average to good. It's not spectacular, I would much prefer the ribs over tacos. The nachos are perfect to go with beers. It's a lovely snack compare to chips I suppose for once in a while. Lovely moist chicken, sour cream and salsa sauce with nachos - there's nothing more you could ask. <br/><br/>Plenty of soft drinks and beers to go along with Mexican. <br/><br/>It's definitely good to see that they have change their attitude towards services. I'm glad I did gave them a second chance. Hopefully they might change their serving according to the value but would definitely come back and try other dishes. Next mission onto different tacos for sure.

Wow.  Walked past, the Transit Store was heaving and has a very cool vibe, with pallets of Jarritos and canned food amongst the tables, had to check it out.  The decor is very pop-up, but extremely tastefully done, with a tiled effect behind the bar created with stencils and spray paint and great Mexican music piped throughout.  Drinks arrived within minutes, and after ordering all of our food was on the table within 5 minutes also, so no problems with the service.  The margaritas were spot on, just the right amount of kick and lovely fresh fruit flavour.  It must be said that everything we ordered was completely faultless, everything you would ever want from a Mexican meal - the flavours were bright and zingy, everything was incredibly fresh, the level of spice was right on the money, and each dish had it's own personality.  The tacos were a knockout, the wife was particularly taken with the duck.  The chicken dish is utter perfection - bathed in a sous vide until you can flake it with your fork like white fish, seared on the grill and topped with a tangy, earthy sauce of tomatillo and pumpkin seeds, atop a bed of black beans redolent of cumin and a very refreshing coconut lime rice, with tart, lime-dressed salad, it was the centrepiece of what turned out to be the greatest meal of my adult life.  Really - I'm talking Thailand, Italy, Spain, even the shining lights of Melbourne (the food landscape I'm most familiar with) can't hold a candle to this place.  It was so good we went back the next night, and everything, from the melt in your mouth corn on the cob, to the sassy pickle of the jalapeno slaw, to the perfectly airy vanilla cream atop the Mexican chocolate tart was once again impossibly good.  Cannot recommend enough.  Took time out to hassle the owner about how he needs to open up in Melbourne.  Nice guy, hopefully a good listener...

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The staff helped us with a beer selection from the Mexican beers available. The tacos were all yummy. We tried the two main course specials and they were both great. The least enjoyable dish was the hamberguesa. Great service all nice with enjoyable atmosphere.

Very underwhelming- nachos and tacos were nothing special and the burger was very bland, dont understand what all the fuss is about to be honest!

For a long time, Lucky Lupitas has been known as one of the best Mexican restaurants in Adelaide. Previously located at Bedford Park, loyal customers would struggle to find a car park just to eat their food. Making way for South Road extensions, Lucky Lupitas was forced to move and has since opened a transit store in North Adelaide. Open on the busy O’Connell Street cafe precinct, the popular Mexican eatery still offers all the favourites we’ve come to know and love.

I must say I was really looking forward to dinner here!! We started with not being able to sit where we wanted, being a three we weren't allowed to sit on a table for four!! This sense of table filling went on all night! We had to ask for drinks and then they weirdly arrived all separately! The food was good but inconsistent, some delicious and freshly prepared others not quite warm and seemingly having sat around waiting. <br/><br/>This restaurant feels like it should be funky and fun but maybe has got a little too smart for itself. I think some customer service 101 would really add to experience!!
Crab Cakes
We started with a plate of nachos. The first thing I noticed was the beautiful presentation. This was very far from the stereotypical cheese, sour cream, salsa and store-bought corn chips that you get at inferior Mexican restaurants. The nachos were served with beef mince, cilantro, salsa and a bit of cream. The flavours were subtle and it didn't sit in your gut. You could also see that the corn chips were homemade. <br/><br/>Next up was pulled pork with rice and corn on the side. The porn and rice was a little too salty for me; however, the corn was delicious. It was coated with cheese and was cooked perfectly. <br/><br/>I then had two tacos - a chicken and a duck. The chicken was nice but didn't have much of a wow factor. The duck taco, however, was amazing. The duck was cooked beautifully and had a most amazing sauce. The taco shell itself was clearly homemade, soft and tasty. Definitely the highlight of the night. <br/><br/>For desert we had the flan and the last finger bananas with condensed milk. The bananas were unusual. I loved the rich coffee flavoured cream sauce; however, the way the bananas were cooked wasn't quite to my liking. They were cooked until they were hard and chewy. <br/>The flan was absolutely amazing. A rich, strong caramel flavour that wasn't overdone. The flan itself was light and fluffy. <br/><br/>Overall, a very good experience.

Making way for the South Road extensions, Lucky Lupitas has shifted from their smaller Bedford Park address, and relocated to O'Connell Street in North Adelaide - temporarily, anyways.<br/><br/>Lucky's new 'transit' space is in a warehouse right in amongst the dining district at the northern end of O'Connell. Much larger than their old space, the fit-out is still very cool - though bookings still aren't available. <br/><br/>We visited with a group of five on the Sunday night of the Adelaide Cup long weekend. It was busy, though, to our surprise, there was no line; perhaps thanks to that bigger space. <br/><br/>We dined late and were hungry so we ordered food quickly. We were disappointed to find-out, only after planning what to eat, that all beef dishes were unavailable. As such, grilled corn and nachos with chicken to begin were great. Three tacos: a duck, a chicken and a chorizo were also excellent. The main, beef ribs was the night's best dish, and, perhaps, some of the best ribs I've tried. A jug of Margherita and Mexican beers were great with the food. <br/><br/>The service, on this visit anyways, was slightly slow: drinks orders were forgotten, mains were brought out before entrees. When mentioned, the waitstaff were quick to fix the issues. The manager with the American accent, maybe also the owner, is always excellent when we visit. <br/><br/>In all, Lucky's has a new, more convenient location, and the food is still just as good. I know many people who regularly visit here, and for those who haven't visited, it's definitely worth trying.
Date Nights Adelaide
Lucky Lupitas was coming to my end of town, albeit, for a limited time only.  I’d heard of this place time and time again, so when those mexican delights were dangled in my reach, we hot footed our way there.
Belinda DeGaris
great food, little bit rushed and their new pop up venus is very very noisy inside. <br/>Recommend: the burger and quesadillas. The corn chips with spicy cheese was average.
Nicholas
Zesty, spicy and delicious Lucky Lupitas is about as good as it gets for Mexican food down south. Tricky location to get a park next to the hospital however the restaurant itself is cozy and warm with good vibes. Have eaten here many times but I always go back for the chimmichurri ribs. <br/><br/>The atmosphere is not as exciting as in the past, and it feels like this is since they announced their move to the CBD. It may have just been the nights that we have been since, though.

If you're after mouth watering Mexican food, this is the place to come. If you're after good service and a quiet place to eat, perhaps give Lucky Lupitas a miss. I'd give Lucky Lupitas 4/5 for the food, but 2.5/5 for the service. I've been to this place so many times I can't count. The service used to be great...before the place became so popular. After that, things seemed to slide. On many occasions I've had to line up to enter, only to look through the window and see empty tables inside. It's not that hard to wipe down a table and get customers through the door - especially in winter. It's straight out poor management and bad customer service. Anyway, once you do finally get a seat, the staff are often so busy that you have to flag them down to get their attention. Why not put on a couple more staff? This place is super noisy and you've no privacy. It's definitely not the place to go for a long catch up with friends, unless you like loud voices and eavesdropping. However, if you're after an early meal, you may get lucky and have a different experience. When the food does arrive, usually quite quickly, it is darn good, especially the corn and tacos. Before I would have been devastated to learn that this place was moving locations, but now I'm not so worried. There are a lot of great restaurants in Adelaide, so I don't need to go anywhere that doesn't have the whole package (great food and great service). If you haven't visited Lucky Lupitas, I would recommend it for the delicious Mexican food, but not for the service. The prices are reasonable. Oh, and I like the decor.
Jma
Not the cheapest place for Mexican food but it's worth it! Love their corn, ribs and tacos. Sangria was well made too. Would visit this place more were it not so far from home!
Lizzie Newland
Absolutely spoilt at Lucky Lupitas! Walked in and immediately tempted by the smell of the hot chips at the table next to us. I had the pulled pork tortilla. Really fresh with the tomato, coriander and sour cream and meat tender and juicy. Lovely crispy tortilla covered in black bean mole.<br/><br/>Boyfriend had one of the burgers. To quote him- "one of the best burgers in ages". Meat so juicy & flavourful. And the chips! A must have. Great service and atmosphere. Genuinely feels like Mexico.<br/><br/>Also love that the walls have Spanish translations written all over.

one of the best mexican food here!<br/>lucky me, this place open around my place. the place is alwayssss full and crowded at night time especially during the weekend. <br/><br/>at this place, i had nachos & quessadillas & margarita.<br/>all of them taste : amazing! the portion is big, good for sharing, all of them were tasty and so delicious. i just can't wait to have a bite more now
Pauline
While it's hard to get a park at it's current location it's totally worth it. Amazing corn on the cob for entree followed by chicken nachos and all in a great atmosphere. You can't go wrong.
Chris
Love this little place! Staff were super friendly and then set up of the restaurant is pretty cool! The food is worth every penny as well!

I had a meal a few weeks ago here. I'd like to give a rating of 4.0 but unfortunately one of the staff members ruined the experience. The food was tastey; we even tried the Mexican cola, which was really cool. Our waitress was friendly, took our orders and delivered our food promptly.  It was when we went to pay that my partner and I exchanged awkward looks. <br/><br/>The lady who took our payment (different to the lady who was our waitress) could not find our table to process the payment - which is FINE; we have no problem if there's a computer system error. She then called the waitress over who took our order and started asking her very abruptly and aggressively what she had done. The waitress was apologetic and seemed genuinely perplexed at what had happened. After she had basically been scalded in front of her customers she returned to serving. The lady taking our payment  - I felt she may have been in a managerial position - returned to taking our payment. She kept making comments under her breath about how she couldn't “understand some people".  <br/><br/>We felt very uncomfortable as we did not even feel that there was a problem with our waitress, we even said, "It's totally fine, mistakes happen". She then ADMITTED that the system had been playing up recently, which left us a bit baffled as to why she had just been so cruel to her own teammate.  She then continued to make comments about her colleague’s incompetence.<br/><br/>It makes me not want to return, or maybe we'll just pop our head in next time and make sure this particular employee isn't working. There is an appropriate time and manner to speak to employees about errors or way that they can improve their work. That time is definitely not in front of patrons and they should be treated with respect and spoken to as an equal.
Laura
Beautiful Mexican street-food in an awesome venue. The staff are really helpful and the food full of flavour. Well prices and great for sharing.
Julia Clarke
What a brilliant 'street food inspired' restaurant outside of the CBD! This place is always full and doesn't take reservations, so if you decide to go you may have to wait outside! But never fear, they give you some free, fresh popcorn to tide you over. <br/>Having not been to Mexico, I can't tell you if it is authentic, but it sure feels like it might be.  I always have the quasadella (no idea if that was spelt right) and a spiced cob of corn. SO FREAKING YUM.<br/><br/>Being so close to Flinders Medical Centre, you can always feel assured that if you had a health emergency, there would always be plenty of 'doctors in the room'.  So it's a safe space.<br/><br/>I have heard rumours about the changes to the freeway forcing Lupitas to be CBD bound.  This would be exciting for the city, however it is sad to see such a unique and great restaurant move away from the 'burbs.
Hospitality Mentor Program
They are one of the restaurants promoting street food in Adelaide who is getting it all so right. From the mismatched glasses and crockery to the rickety tables and casual staff in jeans and non matching T-shirts, everything is perfect. There is no overstated pomp or intricate plating and you won't walk out with an empty bank account, it is a constant buzz of chatter and laughter and the smells that waft from the open kitchen send a prom

Nom nom nom. As always this place is always on point✌ you can not go wrong with any meal at this quirky joint.<br/>Such strong vibes 5/5
Thefaeriecupcake
Pulled pork FTW. It was my first week in Adelaide and a friend who lived here for 6 years brought me to this place on a very busy Friday night! We had to wait about 20 minutes before we were seated, but it was worth the wait. They served us popcorn while we were waiting anyway (so I can't complain hey). I had the pulled pork tostada which was filling and really tasty. Definitely going back!

One of the best restaurants in Adelaide. Definitely a nice little place. Good food and great service.
Janetmpenno
A favourite of mine. Whenever I'm down this way I eat here. Food is great! Keep up the good work Lucky Lupitas.

Decent. We went last night on a spur of the moment decision. To be perfectly honest, the service was decent, the food was decent, but we won't return. It wasn't as good as urban spoon made it out to be, it was loud and hot (and the restaurant was only half full).
Maya_eats
Those ribs though, amazing (With BBQ sauce)! Shared 1kg between 2 with tortas chips and salsa shared entree, perfect.
Jonathan Vdk
Best Mexican/Latin American food in Adelaide. We ordered 1 duck taco, 1 vego taco which were both extremely delicious. Then the 500g ribs came. Super tender and pretty good. I have had better but I don't think you can find better in Adl. The rice and slaw that came with it were lovely too. We also had some fries which were super tasty but possibly not needed! <br/>Great vibe and the customer service was friendly and efficient. Would definitely go again and would recommend to anyone.

Muy bueno!. We had dinner here last night, at about 6:30 and yes we waited for about ten minutes but it's an intimate restaurant and definitely worth the wait. Worst case scenario we were going to head next-door for Greek (been there before, delicious) or Japanese (also highly praised on urbanspoon) if we had to wait too long. We had a corn chip with chipotle dip entrée, two tacos and my partner had one of their delicious burgers. We each had one of their Mexican origin beers too. The decor is warm and inviting, and love the chalkboard decorated with heat and food descriptions. Our waitress was lovely, the food came out promptly and the flavours burst with freshness! Came out with full bellies and a big smile. All for under $50! Nice to see places like this cropping up in Adelaide finally!
N I
Amazing experience!! Must go place in Adelaide best food ever.
Samara Archibald
Absolutely amazing. Thank you Lucky Luputas for such a fun night with such delicious food. Tacos and ribs are my tip for anyone finding it hard to decide on what to order.

Returned with a positive vote. Recently I was given the opportunity to return to LL. I had made comment about some things that had gone astray and I had been assured the troops had rallied. It was again a Friday Night at 8:00pm and we had a 35 minute wait for a table....<br/>I am pleased to say everything was back to where I hoped it would be. <br/>We dined on the Taco de carne and Taco de pato (beef and duck tacos). The flavours were full and fresh.<br/>As well, the Lucky Ribs were our next choice - and they didn't disappoint. I am pleased to say the Jalapeño Slaw had redeemed itself, and we enjoyed the majority of the slaw (we were full by this time), really happy with the fresh light flavours.<br/>My only suggestion with the 35+mins wait at the bench is to offer beverage service while people are waiting for a spare table, and perhaps offer (monthly) dish specials for variety, different to the menu dishes.<br/>The team were friendly and efficient in the table service,<br/>Good work Brad and the team.<br/><br/><br/>-----01 Nov, 2014-----<br/><br/>Lost its shine. I have been a devoted recommender of LLs since its opening. It has always been so busy that waiting in a lineup was a given to get in. Last night we went later to avoid the line up....8pm ...not so late and I am going to allow some slack to us coming at the latter end of the service time. Mind you, I don't think I should have to because I am charged the same money whether I am early or late, so therefore expect the same early or late.<br/>Anyway....we arrived to a half full place, greeted quickly and settled in.<br/>The place has a feel of grubbiness, the tables glasses and cutlery show/feel signs of it, a dirty knife had fallen to the floor behind the entrance door, and had been forgotten to be picked up....greeting every new customer. I felt like I was in a Mexican cafe...so I guess goal achieved :)<br/>To the food: <br/>past times we have had ribs , prawns etc etc (very good)....but tonight felt like having smaller meals so went for tacos and the burger, with a bottle of house wine coming in its traditional brown paper bag. House wine isn't too bad for it's title.<br/>To the soft shell tacos....hmmm....chicken and beef were chosen.....was it the end of the night? Expected, but not delivered....no zing or freshness of flavours.....bit disappointed, it was just food in the gob. To the burger.....it was OK, better than the tacos, but it didn't shine. The coleslaw side dish ordered was more like a missing-the-beat sauerkraut....the dishes are different yes? So when clearing the plates, the waitress just took without asking why we were sending back a 95% full bowl of coleslaw that we had ordered.<br/>So I am asking myself the question ....is the honeymoon over, or was the chef tired at the end of the shift, do they think they are too cool for school......and customer's don't count......half full / half empty restaurant......the next chapter will tell, or should we ask where's Chef Gregory, we missed you tonight?
Jessica Berry
Over rated. We were expecting amazing things after all the hype and people queuing up, but were disappointed in the food and the service from our waitress who gave the impression she couldn't care less.
Reynolds Gaw
Tasty!. Had the grilled corn with cheese, burger with chipotle sauce, margarita, nachos with meat... All tasty! Not too bad for Adelaide!
Hungry Plumber
Not as good as it was. We have been here before and the food was to die for, everything had flavour and tasted as if had just been made for us. After an afternoon function we decided to try our luck at getting in early as we hate lining up and the function had no food. Great we thought no line up tonight , were seated straight away, perused the menu made our choices ordered starters and mains. The tacos were average chorizo and beef were ordered , hard to tell the difference between the two,as the flavours were all the same a chicken quessidalla and pulled pork all tasted the same , the elote was very mushy. We were out of the door in 35minutes including paying the bill, when asked how our meals were I said "certainly not as good as the last time we were here" the response was " oh well at least you're fed" . its looks likes its back to home cooked Mexican for us , very disappointed!!!!
Dragon015
Great food. Atmosphere was great, and loved the food, The service was excellent. The menu was interesting.
P Is For Pickled
Authentic Mexican not the normal catfood on cornchips!. Firstly can I say I have eaten and cooked A LOT of Mexican over the years. I've eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants in America where they seem to do a lot better job of it than us Aussies. So it was very nice to finally eat somewhere, where they are actually keeping things simple and real. Fresh flavours, herbs & spices all contribute to many of the dishes to ensure they are true to flavour and not smothered in carbs & cheese to the detriment of all other flavours. I did however find the ribs a bit underwhelming and fatty.. Overall good Mexican!
Penny
Authentic. This is very authentic and well cooked mexican food! love it
Truth.
Ok food but more like fast food than a restaurant. Chips look like they are from the freezer then dusted with seasoning. Quite over priced & long waits for tables.
FoodComa
Chipotle mayonnaise beef burger has been on my must try list for some time! It was so juicy and delicious i scoffed it down knowing I would be back soon enough (probly hungover) to order it again! Nomnomnom

My fiancé and I had heard good things about this place, we were prepared to wait, but after 40minutes sitting in the cold without any time limit given by staff we went inside and asked for a menu. My fiancé and I waited for 10 minutes, and still no menus. Giving up, we went inside to get a take away menu. We had to wait outside for our food, for another 20minutes. When we finally got our food and got stuck in, it was lackluster and soggy. The chicken taco was awful, my fiancé said the burger was okay, but if you want a burger, go to burger theory. The quesadilla was alright, but I wouldn't write home about it. We won't be going again, it doesn't live up to the hype.
Burger King Kong
Average at best. I honestly do not see what all the fuss is about this place. Huge waiting lines, people pushing in, staff forgetting about you. It was taking forever so we got take away. Very disappointing and very expensive, I am a big burger buff so I had the burger which was bland with an overly sweet bun. We won't be coming back!
Jacqueline Alanne
Formula down pat. Have eaten at Luckys more times than I can count, and have not yet been disappointed; surprising considering we have tasted almost everything on the menu!<br/>Do yourself a favour and start with the sweet-corn, the cheesy spicy and maybe a shot of tequila. The food also goes perfectly with their selection of beers; the margaritas not so great for anyone that loves a true, fresh cocktail.<br/>The ribs are as good as everyone raves about, and the pulled pork and chipotle hamburger are standouts. Worth the occasional lineup (which has been made better by toasty heaters and deck seating).<br/>The waiters are super-relaxed and are all about helping you have a better time.<br/>Consistent, delicious, and just as importantly a fun night out.
Claire Lillian
Best Mexican rib in town! But really the food and service was friendly and everything that a good Mexican place should be!
N
Best Mexican in Adelaide. Have dined here twice in the last week for dinner and lunch service. Saturday night we had quite a long wait for a table of 2 but it was well worth it. The Nachos are delicious, soft tacos are bursting with flavour and the quesadilla (both chicken and beef) was the best thing Ive ever tasted. Can't wait to try wood smoked rib and hamburgers. We will be back for more!
Steve
Worth A Visit. Grungy diner that has budget chairs/tables with mis-matched plates, cups and cutlery. Feels a bit cliche or try hard when restaurants do that these days. <br/><br/>But WOW, the flavours are fanastic! And the place has a nice relaxed vibe. Worth checking out for a fun and relaxed meal with friends. <br/><br/>PS: Be prepared to wait outside for a table as it gets very busy
Captainveganx
Pretty good. It was pretty good, staff were more than happy to offer vegan options.<br/><br/>Salad was delicious but might I will get it as an entree next time as it was very light. Other people on the table enjoyed the ribs, and burger. Seasoned chips were tasty but could be a bit crispier? <br/><br/>Great staff
Skujam
It's good, real good. I urg.... It's good, real good.<br/>I urge you to go here and eat - absolutely worth the wait and the odd location. But.......... don't get blinded by the ribs and burgers on the menu - the truth is that their soft tacos are the stars of the show. On par with the best tacos anywhere in the world - the duck taco is outstanding, the beef is profoundly savory, rich and robust, chicken - wonderful, potato absolutely brilliant - and not just a "brilliant vegetarian taco" a brilliant taco in its own right.<br/>Balanced, refined and delicious - but not serious, it's good, damn good.
Ilikeeating
Fun to be had. Always have fun eating here! Its not really 'grown up' food nor is the general clientele sophisticated (many uni students from across the way). These suburbs need places like this in Adelaide.

Absolutely awesome!. Awesome food, fresh and ridiculously tasty!! definitely be back!!

The ribs were to die for, really liked the place. We went really early and just got a seat and from then on it was wait list. Highly recommend.

Beautiful food but a bit cramped. Lucky Lapitas is definetly a breath of fresh air for the south of Adelaide. Their food is very authentic and when dining you feel like part of the culture. There is a good range of prices on the menu and even a simple dish like Nachos has tasty ingredients to make it stand out from your regular nacho dish.<br/>I wasn't a fan of the fact that my friends and I had to wait a long time to get a table because you can't pre-book and we had a very large group- so that is a bit of a let down. It is a pretty small venue so hopefully they open other restuarnts.
Jacinta
We came to lucky lupitas last week for dinner, we arrived at 5.40pm and had to wait around 25minutes for a table but my god it was worth it! We ordered a variety of things to share between us all. The food was so good, the flavour was amazing and the portions were huge.. It was the first time I've tried ribs and were so tender the meat was melting in my mouth! Definitely 10/10 can't wait for my next visit already :)
VM
The RIBS and the Eloto CORN!. Amazzzzing ribs.... really gets me excited...<br/>the eloto corn is AMAZING! the choptle mayonnaise and the spices the put in there just blend nicely and the flavor just dances around your palette..<br/>never going to eat a bowl of doritos and sliced cheese from coles that has been microwaved for 1 minute anymore!<br/>my standard of nachos are very high now :)<br/>will definitely be back to try their burgers!
Foodloveradelaide
Worth the wait. Hands down the best mexican in adelaide thus far. <br/><br/>10/10
The Toothpick
Gracias. This restaurant would be at home on Rundle St or The Parade, but you know what, I like that it isn't. Good food will draw people no matter where it is and Lucky Lupitas does that. Great food, atmosphere and staff make it a very enjoyable experience. I had the ribs with chipotle BBQ sauce. Absolutely delicious although a slightly bigger helping of coleslaw on the side might have been nice. If you have to wait do. We arrived at 6pm on a Saturday and had to wait 30 mins, but there was 5 of us. We will be back, especially as we are moving into the area soon. Lucky Lupitas isn't the reason, but it sure is a bonus !
Jane Felt
One of the best in Adelaide. This is one of the best restaurants in Adelaide. Sure, it's cramped and often very crowded, but the food is superb and the service is fantastic, which is really all that matters! Great atmosphere as well. Will definitely be back! 5/5

Had the Duck Taco and Chicken Taco for lunch today. Fantastic, happy enthusiastic service, even better food. "I will be back"

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night, there was a bit of a wait to get a table but the food was worth it. Smaller serving sizes than I expected but none the less it's good food!

Great set up inside with a cool vibe. Had the corn

Veggie Quesadilla. Delicious, loved their home-made salsa that came with it! Also, loved the decor/atmosphere in the restaurant.

Chicken wings. I visited lucky lupitas last week and was very annoying. I ordered chicken wings and they comes with feathers, they didnt have much flavour and they were only hot. Lucky Lupitas food has not Mexican food AT ALL, the worst meal in Adelaide!!!!!
Paul
Is this the place for you?. Well I have to say I DO like this place very much, I have come to learn that unless you are here 15-20 min BEFORE opening on a Friday or Sat eve you will wait a long time for a table, however don't be put off! The whole place is set up like a Mexican cantina and is very cosy, the staff are friendly and the beef is cold. The food I hear you say, well its very very good, small portions and you can order lots of them (a little like tapas) but all have a unique taste. nothing is to spicy and there are options for the kids, over all I have been here many times, I have tried everything on the quite small menu and there are only a coupe of things I don't like. yes do come here, yes you will wait for a seat on the weekend but you will love the food.
Finchy
Eaten here three times, all were amazing. Best Mexican food I've had. Not exactly cheap for the serving sizes but this is quality not quantity. Flavours are fresh, zesty and spicy. Third time lucky (pun intended) I had the beef ribs - incredible! No bookings and be prepared to lineup outside for 45mins to get a table on a busy night. Worth the wait though.
Belle Blatch
A MUST. Lucky's is the BEST mexican going around SA. The corn is a must every time!!
Camille
We ate here last week and really enjoyed the experience. The food was delicious, we had the steak quesadillas, empanadas and they made a chicken quesadilla for our 7 year old which she quite enjoyed. We started with a nice sized serve of chips and tomatillo salsa and a margarita. I am from Texas and can say, it was the best margarita I've had since living in Australia for the last 10 years! The food was authentic and delicious, the service was very friendly and attentive. We will be back!!

OMG THE RIBS.. I have only come to this restaurant a few times because the wait is just agonizing and the menu is a little to small for me; what they do sell however is fantastic and wonderful and if you get there early on a rainy Wednesday then you might actually get dinner within an hour of getting there! <br/><br/>My partner and I visited this restaurant a few times, he is of Mexican heritage and from the USA so he wanted to try as it was referred to us by a Colombian friend of mine. <br/><br/>We had ribs and nachos, between us it was enough and it was just delectable. <br/><br/>The reiteration is that the wait time is just crap, the lack of being able to book is frustrating, but the food and the service and the atmosphere make it worth it.

Consistent. The food is still great & the restaurant is still way too loud. Had to keep asking my family to repeat themselves.<br/><br/><br/>-----26 Aug, 2013-----<br/><br/>Yum. Went on Monday night & the place was buzzing, which actually meant it was hard to talk but the vibe was good. The food is fantastic. Had tostones, snapper taco, corn on the cob, burger & chips & mushroom, cheese & spinach quesadilla between us & it was all delicious. A couple of flavours couldn't be picked up however, the pineapple salsa in the taco & the orange in the burger. The trip to the toilet is treacherous. Will be back for sure.

Various dishes of Lucky Lupitas. Lucky Lupitas is food on another scale. You should go there, just<br/>for the experience. You'll be wholly impressed. The little banana shaped Empanadas are to die for. Meat, potato, corn, wrapped in a thick secure pastry, rock. 10/10 The Lucky Rips in the Chirrimicchi sauce is something different, with this rice, that has an undertaste, or it could be it just has a different flavour. Very oily. Definitely something out of the ordinary, you should try. The meat comes of the bones like shanks, probably not as easy. 9/10. The nachos and the con quesco dip sadly serve up a disappointment.<br/>They're unexceptional, just like if you had em in another Mexican restaurant. Both 6/10. The burgers are wonderfully presented. I have the Mole Verde burger. It's a little spicy, with cheese, caramelized onion, and a decent sized, patty, that's tasty as. The guacomole kind of ruins it a little, making the inside of the bun soggy, but it all adds up in the flavor. 9/10 The golden fries are the real deal, like the ones you'd eat in America. It nicely finishes the presentation when accompanied with the burger. These small crinkled cut fries, are crunchy and tasty, just like God intended. They get my seal of approval. 10/10 The custard dessert one is tasty but very sickly. It should be accompanied with something. 5/10 The Mexican cola is a great refreshment, a bit of spicy, my perfect choice of beverage, although it does leave a sting in it's taste. 10/10 The strawberry one, is a tastily surprising, a different choice to wet the pallet. 9/10 If going there on a Saturday night, show up, no longer than quarter past five, or you'll be one of the waiting horde of customers. Lunch time is more flexible. If you get there at 12 onwards, you'll be waiting. Get there just on opening time, or between the times pace of 11.30 to 11.45. If this place was bigger, it'd be a goldmine. Don't let the appetizing opportunity of Lucky Lupitas, pass you by.

Great food, appalling service.<br/>The meal was delicious, main portions were smaller than expected. However if ordering an entree and main per person that would be more than sufficient. The burger was full of flavor with a tasty meat patty. The chicken quesadilla was very good accompanied with all the salsa's. The place was packed, and this was at the opening time of 5.30! The downfall to LL is the inconsistent service. Once seated the young male waiter was rude and condescending towards us and we overheard the same attitude towards other diners. We almost walked out because of him-and that was after waiting 20 minutes. A young girl attended to our table to take our drink&food orders, who was attentive, polite and very helpful. Overall the food was great, and the waitress more than made up for the previous poor service. However being on the pricey end and with hit and miss service, im not sure i would go back in a hurry. Perhaps for takeaway.

Went on a Wednesday night early at 6.00pm & got a table for 3 straight away. The food and beer were great, although not cheap by the time one added 3 entrees, 3 mains, 2 deserts & a couple of drinks. Will definitely visit again.

Love it- every time I go, I have to wait at least 45 mins( waited for 1.5 hrs once) but its all worth it. Corn is the best!!
Zoe L
Went on a Tues night about a 25min but we were greeted with free popcorn by a very welcoming man. Really quick and friendly service but a bit pricey for us. Food was very fresh but not sure if we will make the trip and return.

Well Worth the Wait. Finally I convinced my husband to go to Lucky Lupitas. He was reluctant to go as we live around 35 minutes away and was not happy with not being able to make a booking and having to wait after a long drive. We went on a Friday night and only waited around 15 minutes, had nearly everything on the menu other than the burgers. Duck taco's and beef ribs were the groups favourites. Fantastic food and worth the wait.
Sam99
Fun and yum. Fun, Yum, not taking life too seriously and well executed food. Authentic or not, its a great place to eat and drink!
Phil
Mixed feelings as the food was lovely however a foreign object was found in my main and I was made to feel like it was 'ok'. Would have appreciated some more service on that one but clearly 'too busy'. First time there, not sure if I'll return.

Ribs, I had ribs for lunch.. My favorite Mexican food in Adelaide. Whilst I have enjoyed everything I have tried the ribs are a stand out for me, I have to restrain myself from ordering them every time so that I can explore the rest of the menu. The wait can get frustrating but we get in early to minimise the impact. Best to go as a group of 2-4.

Worth the wait. Cute and quirky little place with great charisma to it. Things like a glossary of words from the menu on the wall are a nice touch. We went at about 7pm on a Monday night and was told the wait would be about half an hour. The waiter brought us popcorn to eat while we waited, although the wait only ended up being about 15 minutes anyway. The staff were knowledgeable about what they were serving and gave great recommendations since we hadn't been there before. The duck taco was particularly delicious and different to anything I've had from any other Mexican restaurant in Adelaide. The imported bottled soft drinks are a great touch to the menu instead of serving the same old coke and juice.
Munchiemoo
Disappointing. Food was really average and not the amazing meal I was expecting from the reviews. Waiter also dropped a glass about 1cm away from my food and it shattered on me, and all he said was "sorry, are you ok?" and swept it up. That's fine, but usually if you want people to forget about a horrible experience, you have to give them a really positive one. Fail.

Well worth the wait!. I am a regular here for both the lunch and the dinner sittings.<br/><br/>If you are so very irritated by the queue, go at lunch time or order take away. Both are great options! But there is nothing wrong with going at dinner time. If it's winter, wear a jacket, bring a smile and enjoy browsing the menu at your leisure, chatting with the other people waiting or your own dinner companions, all while you enjoy the delicious smells wafting out the door.<br/>If you're lucky the cute waiter will bring you a little paper bag of popcorn to munch while you wait.<br/><br/>With the out of the way, my top 3 menu choices would have to be...<br/>The chipotle mayonesa hamburguesa<br/>The grilled corn with chipotle mayonesa<br/>Nachos w/ chicken<br/><br/>Don't listen to the hype or the complaints, just go enjoy yourself.
Adam
Best Mexican in Adelaide. Without a doubt.
Penny
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Best Mexican I have had in Australia. The soft tacos are yummy and the custard flan is amazing!!
Zoe
Delicious!. Unfortunately we were unable to get a table so opted for take away which was much quicker, we had the hamburguesa chipotle mayonesa which has now become my favourite burger in Adelaide, so full of flavour! we also had the lucky ribs with Chipotle bbq sauce, so tender and tasty the only complaint I have is that there was no cutlery with the take away menu, but they are doing everything else right, the waiter was energetic, helpful and also sympathetic to those who were waiting outside for a table, amazing, tasty food I will be going back to this place time and time again!
Little Red-Haired Girl
Get there early!. My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to score a table for two shortly after dinner opening hours. Those with 3 or more had to wait for a table.<br/><br/>It was very noisy inside which might put off some people. The nachos were very nice but I was a bit let down by the chicken quesadilla. I should have gone for the plain vegetarian one as my boyfriend really praised it. (Towards the end of it, the chicken was very overbearing which is disappointing considering all the other amazing ingredients in it.)

Poor Service. I would not recommend this restaurant as a taste of Mexico or Latin America. The service was poor, the food was mediocre and the attitude of the "cook" was nothing short of average. Let me ask you a question...what would make you think that 5 people could share a "Lupe" which is clearly an individual order?<br/><br/>Also, why should I have to get off my chair and go to the counter to ask where this order is, only to be give a rude answer and attitude? Get over it because, you've only got some things right with your restaurant? I was excited and expecting something special, but it didn't work for me...sorry. <br/><br/>FYI, I lived in North America for 13 years, my wife is Colombiana and this is nothing like what I expected. What a disappointment!<br/><br/>I'll stick with my wife's beautiful Latina cooking which is truly authentic without the pissy attitude...
Celeste
C u. We like this place,<br/>all fresh and nice

Forget 'hype', forget queuing, forget non-authenticity etc. Etc. Good service, great atmosphere, magnificent food. What more do you need? NOTHING! haters gonna hate, I guess.
JJfood
Everything they do is good. Authentic Mexican and American food. Can be very busy with long waits for a table.

Fantastic!. Went to Lucky Lupitas fairly early on a Monday night and only had to wait a few minutes. The wait staff were fantastic and friendly, the food was absolutely delicious, and the watermelon margaritas were to-die-for. Seriously. We had a great time and I can't wait to go back! Pity it's so far away for me...
Karen
Don't go if you don't like line ups. Yes Lucky Lupitas has great food, but because they take no bookings and it's so small, you have to get there at 5.30 exactly when it opens any day, otherwise you will have to join the line up outside. Most times you see about 15 people waiting, even driving past on south road. You are better off getting take away. I heard they are opening another one in the city. I just hope there are no line ups. I am really disappointed. This will start to annoy people over time and they will lose customers.
MichaelB
I joined Urbanspoon purely to rave about this place. Amazing staff, genuine friendly service and the food! My gosh, the food was simply incredible. Not only was it the best Mexican meals i've ever eaten, but perhaps the one of the best meals i've had ever. <br/><br/>Definitely recommend.
Paul O
Lucky Lupitas is Worth the Wait!. I finally made it to this Mexican & Latin American restaurant after waiting in line before and giving up, . . .despite being given popcorn to snack on while waiting!<br/><br/>The restaurant line was small just before opening at 5.30pm - so I jumped in line and was seated very quickly (for a change).<br/><br/>Service was terrific and attentive. The hosts explained all the menu dishes in full. I was disappointed that there were not more substantial meat dishes like Arroz Con Pollo! If you are into ribs there is always the Lucky wood smoked ribs.<br/><br/>I decided to have the Guacamole which was presented on a colourful plate with the freshest baked corn chops.<br/><br/>A serve of Empanadas de Picadillo - which is fresh masa filled with beef mince, green olives, raisin, roasted corn, almonds, green onion and cilantro. Very tasty but wish the serve came as four pieces as it makes it easier to share with a friend.<br/><br/>The Hamburguesa I was recommended by the staff is the most popular choice. This is the Chipotle Mayonesa. The burger was served on a beautiful sweet glazed bun with a quality beef patty, lettuce, tomato and in this case - Lupitas house made sauce of smoky Jalapeno Mayonnaise, Dijon, Cilantro and Horseradish.<br/><br/>I was visually impressed with this when it arrived and it tasted even better. I will definitely return again to eat this menu item.<br/><br/>Finally I asked if there were any desert items. I was surprised that there was only one desert on offer and not listed in the menu. It was a Mexican Creme Caramel. This dessert is also known as 'Mexican Flan'. It consisted of a deliciously creamy, sweet and eggy custard, topped with a syrupy caramel sauce. Wow - it was so delicious that I wanted another one but refrained because I was adequately satisfied.<br/><br/>Thanks guys for a great dining experience - it was worth the wait!
Gringo
You're kidding. This has to be the worst mex eatery ever. Nachos & Margaritas were terrible. We were the second in the place & took 30mins to get served. Stifling and mediocre.<br/><br/>Gringo

Very lucky. Finally made it to this little hideaway only to be greeted by a crowd waiting to get in at 5.20pm. It was a bit like standing at Disneyland waiting for the gates to open. Once inside, we were impressed by the efficiency of the staff and the freshness and quality of the food. A little expensive all up, but nice to find something a little different. Great atmosphere. Would love to see more little restaurants of this quality and quirkiness.

Great Experience. Went here for dinner last night for the first time. We arrived early at 6.30pm as we had heard this place gets busy and even has line ups. The place is really funky inside and well designed. The wait staff are very friendly and welcoming. I ordered the Chicken Nachos which was a big serve and very filling. At $16.95 it was value for money. My friends meals also looked delicious. I will be going back to this place for sure.
K
We were expecting a long wait but were happy to get straight in and served. Waiters were lovely, funny and even though we came late in the evening didn't rush us and went out of their way to accommodate us. All the food we ordered was divine, especially the duck. Would of liked a bigger helping of guacamole and sour cream but were supplied straight away when asked. Loved the decor and vibe of the place.
Can't Be Bothered To Cook
Hmm ... not sure what the hype is about. Food very nice though portions are small and ....given that ... bill worked out quite expensive for what we actually had. $50 for 2 very small dishes, some rice and a drink each .......... might need persuading to go back.<br/><br/>Having been to Mexico and South America a few times, I'm a bit uncertain where this 'authentic' tag comes from .... South America is very diverse though .....
Burgoid
YES!. So. Damn. Good.<br/><br/>Such a pleasurable place to be. Authentic, quality food in a buzzing, friendly atmosphere. The burger and tacos were just awesome.<br/>Get there on opening time or be prepared to have a wait...<br/><br/>Cheers gang!
Ajgilmorej
Repeat customers. Always amazing. Food is real Mexican. If you don't like to wait don't go on a Fri/Sat unless you get there before five thirty. But don't rate them poorly because you have to wait.. sit back enjoy the complimentary popcorn and enjoy the whole experience. and get a sneaky magerita or two once inside..! They once forgot one of our meals but we were glad for the break because we were stuffed with food.. so much to try so little belly space! Cheap for what you get but adds up quickly because you want to eat it all!! Yummm

Well after reading all the rave reviews and trying to understand the cult following of this place we decided to give it a go at 530pm last Saturday, the doors opened and the place was instantly full. We took Byo which was a good idea as it took 20 minutes for a drink order and 45 minutes to place our food order. The food is really great as everyone says but it appears as though too much effort is placed on pleasing the takeaway customers at the expense of not enough service for the diners. Fix the service and it is 10 out of 10! Big D

Worth the wait. We arrived at 7pm and waited about an hour before getting in. Sitting down, I was so prepared to be underwhelmed, but I'm glad we stuck it out. The food was great! Sensibly priced, generous portions, different and tasty. If only the wait wasn't so long I'd always be coming here and work my way through the menu!

Third time we have been to Lucky Lupitas and the food is getter better and better every time. Yes, you may have to wait for a table but it is worth it. I suggest getting there really early, like 530 for the first sitting or get there about 730 to squeeze in at the end of the night. <br/><br/>On our last visit we started with the grilled corn. Sensational. We then had a beef taco and a lamb taco. Nachos, which were brilliant. The chim churi ribs (better than the BBQ ribs), a couple of the chipotle mayonnaise burgers, a side of fries and finished off with the Mexican style creme caramel for dessert. <br/><br/>Sounds like a lot of food... But it is all share style dining so nothing really went to waste. Add a jug a margarita on the side to wash it all down. DELICIOUS!<br/><br/>Not super pricey but super tasty. I highly HIGHLY recommend this place. It will turn you into a Mexican lover instantly. 9/10
Hungry Bugs
We only grabbed a couple of takeaway tacos to try out, but gosh...we want more! So tasty and bag loads better than the usual 'Mexican' glop we are way too used to. <br/>Yeah, sure, there was a bit of a wait but definitely worth that wait. <br/>Had the chicken (should've eaten it last it was refreshing in flavour) and the beef taco which had a nice balance if flavour and spice.
Pulford301
Amazing! Waited a while for a table but very much worth it! The ribs are to die for as is the guacamole and veg tortilla bake. Authentic feel and sublime food.
Arvin Lee
Undecided. Better Mexican food than the others in Adelaide but still short of the mark in terms of flavour, we had the infamous ribs but the sauce was too sweet and just tasted like it was broiled for 6 hours, though they were very tender. The nachos were also disappointing, once again bland guacamole and burnt chips. We also had the quesada (I think that's name) with black beans, tasteless. So based on having tried Mamasita in Melbourne and actual Mexican food in Mexico cannot compare - but with what Adelaide has to offer then not so terrible, decor though is really great - homey, eclectic, fun.
Maxi
What a joke this place!? Waited for 1 hr for average food.
Madam Wu
So worth the wait!. Everything was awesome from the guac and chips, grilled corn cobs with chipotle mayo, parmesan and lime (!!!), smoked chicken quesadillas to the chipotle ribs (better than the chimichurri ribs). Friendly service and quick too.
MishT
Best Mexican in Adelaide. This is honestly the best Mexican restaurant I've tried to date. Everything from their nachos, quesadillas and tacos were simply fantastic. Even the ribs! Highly recommend for everyone to try this restaurant. Despite being so busy and not able to accommodate many customers, the service was still good and done with a smile on the face.
Caro Hh
Freakin' awesome Didn't hav.... Freakin' awesome<br/>Didn't have to wait long not that that would have changed my view. Best Mexican I have had anywhere in Australia.
C3030328
Average service and a very long wait to be seated detracted from what was otherwise good food.
Rach
30 minute wait outside to get in.<br/>Food 8/10<br/>Service 7.5/10<br/>Atmosphere 8/10

Can't get in to review it! hahahaha. Ok so it must be good I assume....
Jealous Aphid
I like my Mexican food like I like my Mexican women. Hot, piquante, and sitting next to a bucket of Margherita. Unfortunately this is not how you get your food if you take away. It comes cold, mild, and decidedly sober, which is the worst kind of Mexican women...<br/><br/>Anyway. The food from lucky Lapitas is fantastic, the corn is really good, the non BBQ sauce on the beef ribs is brilliant, the plantain chips was actually very nice. Oh the flan! The dessert was so good, seriously amazing, the waiter claimed that he eats them out the back, while he wasn't nearly fat enough for that to be true, I can appreciate the sentiment, they were great.<br/><br/>So, go to lucky Lapitas, eat in, because take away is not a good move, drink margheritas, because they are very tasty and ensure that your partner doesn't mind your increasingly suspect beard. Oh and park at the hospital, because that is where you will end up after eating too much, and it's also the nearest park.
Tanya Marie
Worth the 80 minute wait once, but would make me think twice about going again. We had a party of 4, five groups of 2 got bumped in front of us while we continued to wait in the cold due to seating arrangements. The food was fabulous. Lucky ribs in BBQ sauce a highlight. Constructive criticism - long communal tables would make seating easier & quicker for everyone & would suit the atmosphere. A few complimentary corn chips would make the long wait more bearable & cheer everyone up. <br/>Overall definitely worth a one time trip (but not with kids & bring a jacket, and snacks)
Hungry In Hawthorn
Yum, yum, yum. Dined thurs night in the pouring rain. We were there by 515 and waited in the car til the Open sign was displayed. By 545 the place was full. Excellent service and divine food. We had the pulled pork which was delicious but needed 4 people to share it as it is a very generous serve. We also had the empanadas which were excellent. Lucky ribs with chipotle were great and the kids were served chicken and cheese quesadillas within ten minutes. I was very impressed with the speed they served given it was full. We left at 630 and there was a line up. Only negative was the toilet is across the yard out the back and we got wet going there. Will def return. So nice to have such different flavours and obvious passion.
JMC
Tasty!. I've been before a couple of times and I find that if you go after 12, it is packed. However the other day there was a large group of us and we got there at about 11:30 and it was empty. Tasty, reasonably priced food!

Night Club Eating. Well Well, you line up out the front like a night club, A young man comes out and asked your name like a door list at a night club. I waited for half an hour in the cold out the font. 2 people walking out said that the food was not worth the wait so we left. <br/><br/>Not able to comment on the food as of yet
Gaye Bragg
This vibrant colourful place is full of personality, good service and great dishes, beef ribs we're gorgeous and also the nachos with chicken, arrived at 5.25 pm with 2 tables alreay waiting before opening, the place filled within 10 mins. Staff were prompt and took time to explain menu, quite a few groups waiting for a seat at anyone time outside on a bench seat with 2 lovely gas heaters keeping everyone warm for the hour that we were there, the turnover was constant. I would definitely return to try some more of the exciting menu, we did BYO and the kids had fizzy Mexican soft drinks, they loved them.
Elizahdoe
Worth the wait for a table!
Amy
Not up to the hype. It was ok, my husband didn't like his chicken (with chocolate in the sauce) my nachos were not the best. I had high hopes I guess since it was rated so highly...

Lucky US!. Lupitas is a welcome breath of fresh air and cannot even be compared with other “Mexican” restaurants. For starters we had the Elotes; grilled corn with chipotle mayo and cheese – I could not release the cob until it was gnawed to the husk! Another highlight was the pulled pork served on a crispy tortilla with an amazing bounty of fresh and tasty accompaniments. We also had to try the beef ribs which were meltingly tender but very rich. Limited wine list (only 3 wines) – but they do BYO $10 corkage and have quite a few Mexican beers, margaritas, sangria etc. Were a little worried by the reviews concerning waiting for tables so we arrived early for a Friday lunch and had no problems with parking or getting a table straight away. Staff were very friendly and service was prompt. Love the eclectic décor and there are so many interesting foods and variations on the menu that we really can’t wait to go back!

Finally!!!!. I finally enjoyed Mexican Food in Adelaide. I can now die happy.<br/>But be warned - it's busy and there are no bookings are taken.

Such a pleasure.. I had heard good things so I had high expectations. I went there for lunch finally and was not disappointed. Great comfortable atmosphere and lovely attentive service. The food came out in good time and was fresh, zesty and tasty. Very satisfying. If it wasn't a work day I would have loved to have stayed a bit longer to have a sangria! Next time!
Murgen
The empanadas were even better than the ones I had in La Paz, Bolivia. Best Mexican I've had, Adelaide is too lucky to have this place!
Kathy Balucanag
Curious. @ Honestcritic - I'm wondering if you would be able to elaborate a bit more on how all the clientele are not so good and how the food is average. I've been to Lucky Lupitas 3 times and each time was fantastic! I just don't believe your review is very constructive or specific enough to give it merit.
Bonnie Ide
Fantastic!. I went to Lucky Lupitas at 6.30pm on a Monday night. As a group of 5, we knew it would be difficult to get a table. There were two smaller groups waiting outside ahead of us, but we were allowed to head inside and stand at the window bar to drink margaritas while we waited. <br/><br/>We waited just over an hour for a table for 5. This was understandable given the small size of the restaurant. They only have two large-ish tables that are capable of holding 5-6 people, the rest of the tables cater to 2s or 4s. <br/><br/>While we drank our margaritas (excellent!) and tamarind sodas, we had the guacamole and the nachos. Both were delicious and sated our appetites until we eventually sat down. <br/><br/>We started with the corn, which was as tasty as everyone says! We then shared 5 mains, but I unfortunately can't remember all the names. One was a mushroom quesadilla (I think) and it was just full of flavour. The BBQ ribs were rich and delicious and the meat fell off the bones with little effort. We finished the night off with flans.<br/><br/>I couldn't help but compare Lucky Lupitas with Maiz & Mezcal, which I visited about a month ago. Lucky Lupitas is far superior than Maiz & Mezcal in flavour and generosity. I found the food at Maiz & Mezcal to be more "home style", with many of the menu items blending into the same flavours. Each dish at Lucky Lupitas was unique and featured different spices, sauces and huge hits of flavours. Some dishes were small and some were 'normal' main sized dishes. I found they were well priced for what we received. All up, it came to $40 per head including drinks. <br/><br/>I probably won't rush back to Maiz and Mezcal, but I can't wait until my next visit to Lucky Lupitas! Next time I'll just go with one other person so we don't have to wait as long for a table.

Good night out!. Went along with my husband and friend to Lucky Lupitas at the start of June, we had an enjoyable night. We liked the atmosphere and the service, staff were friendly, talkative & knowledgeable when we asked questions. We got there around 6:00pm so didn't need to line up which was nice!<br/>The corn 'Elotes' was delicious as was the Lucky Ribs, which we ordered with the chipotle bbq sauce. We also ordered the chicken maryland 'Mole de colorado con pollo' which was nice and different, but didn't have much flavour and the pulled pork dish, which was not bad - it just sounded better on the menu so our expectations were higher. Didn't really enjoy the Nachos at all, hardly any toppings and quite dry and tasteless, that was the let down of the evening.<br/><br/>Overall we would return again, and recommend trying it.
Mary
The best Mexican Adelaide has to offer by far. Recommend the ribs and empanadas and the caramel Flan. Amazing.
BJD
Phenomenal, the quesadillas are to die for. Bravo.
Fussybitch
Absolutly incredible. Started the night with complimentary dry roasted nuts,a jug of margarita and a shot of tequila. Then a variety of beautifully cooked tacos - pulled pork was stunning. Then chicken empanadas, again amazing. Beef ribs with BBQ sauce fell of the bone and were smoky and rich. The plantain chips with black beans were a favourite as well as the yuca, cassava root wedges with an aioli. Jalapeño coleslaw was light and tangy and the absolute highlight was the Spanish style burnt caramel flavoured creme caramel. Highly recommended. A pity it's such a long drive for me, living on the west side of Adelaide.
TinaN
I have waited such a long time to try this authentic Mexican restaurant. I was not disappointed with the flavors and texture. I made a conscious effort to get there when it opened (5:30pm) as so many times I have been disappointed with a waiting line. It didn't take long before a waiting line formed and it was cold. The food was great but the service seemed too relaxed and inconsistent with a place catering to a small restaurant. I took a takeaway menu as this seemed to be the best way to get the food and not have to worry about service. I would recommend that you do try it for the experience and flavors.
Kymbo
Great food, awesome service and even better value - perhaps other restaurants should take a visit to learn a thing or two. Every success to the crew at LL!

10 of 10. Crazy good food...good service...authentic...

A little disappointed. After all the hype surrounding this place, was very keen to try it, as have not found a decent Mexican in Adelaide. After a failed attempt at getting a table on a Friday night, we decided to order delivery as per the website on the Saturday. <br/><br/>Despite the website stating they deliver, they informed me they haven't got round to sorting delivery out yet. I placed the order, only to be told they had run out of some items. After substituting them, I was told it would be 45 minutes before I could collect the food. I rocked up 45 minutes later, and then waited a further 10 minutes for my food to be ready, all the while, feeling like I was in the way of everything due to there being no room anywhere.<br/><br/>The food was okay, but that's all. Good flavours, but pretty small portions, which made it pretty pricey for what it was. Not terrible, but unfortunately could have been better.

Best Mexican food this side of the pacific! finally some authentic Mexican food in Adelaide, no more slop served in deep fried burritos! Fantastic service, make sure to arrive early (before 6) to avoid waiting
Delish
Lupitas is fun, vibrant and tasty! Lining up is part of the adventure and it's well worth the wait! Best to go with one good mate, you'll be seated sooner. The food is great but the experience is better!
Coffee And Food Enthusiast.
The service attendant could do with a bit more personality (maybe I got her on a dud day) but the food definately made up for it.

Overrated. I went to the restaurant with a friend, it's a bit annoying that you can't book as like all the other reviews it was packed - on a Wednesday night too - we got a table on the high chairs looking out onto the pavement where cold would-be diners shivered whilst watiing - but seemed to be looked after and supplied with drinks. After the hype I was expecting something more, the decor was a bit ho hum, the menu not very extensive and having been to Mexico three times, the food was not as good as the reviews promised. We had nachos,I agree with another reviewer they were a bit tasteless and burnt. My quasidillas were really lovely and tasty but my friend who had the chicken with mole and chocolate was underwhelmed and said it tasted a bit odd. On the plus side her margarita was excellent. So maybe I'd give it another try and sample something else from the menu but I do think they need to extend it and add a glossary for those not familiar with mexican food.

Disappointed. My friend and I travelled here across Adelaide and was very disappointed with the food. The atmosphere is great, and staff were friendly, but we were dissapointed with our nachos, guacamole and other items we ordered, which I'm sorry to say I can't remember. There wasn't much topping on the nachos, so they were dry. We also found everything to be quite tasteless. Sorry Lupitas, we had really high hopes, and won't be returning.

Little Mexico on South Road. Wow, this is a great little cantina in the southern suburbs of Adelaide. The Elotes (corn) are the best, Empanadas are so so tasty and the Lucky Ribs With Chipotle BBQ sauce are so sweet and just falls off the bone. If you still have room try the dessert, a Mexican Flan.<br/><br/>We will be back very soon.

Something different in the south.... We came here because of the amount of likes and great reviews on urban spoon, and were really excited.<br/>We arrived, and were told there were no tables, and to wait outside. About 15 minutes later we were invited in - really popular by the looks of things.<br/>Food was nice - nothing special though.<br/>Prices were reasonable for the quality.<br/>Nice decor - mix and match furniture/crockery.<br/>Service wasnt overly great - but nothing to complain about.<br/>Give it a go if you live in the south and want to head out for a meal closer to home but iIf you live more than 15-20 minutes away - we wouldnt reccommend the drive.

Amazing!. Everything about this little Mexican eatery is awesome. Fast and friendly service, great beer list full of Mexican beers, awesome decor and the food, oh the food. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough - but getting there early is the key! I arrived at about 5.40pm and was seated straight away but by 6 there were people lined up outside. From what I could tell they made the line up as comfortable as possible with drink service and peanuts provided.

Easily the best Mexican I've had. The empanadas were absolutely amazing I could easily have five serves. This restaurant is possibly better than Mamasita (similar top rated Mexican in Melbourne)

One word..amazing! The wait doesnt matter once u have the food. Ribs are the best. Service friendly and super fast. Will be back soon!

Seriously underwhelming. I was extremely disappointed by the food from this promising restaurant. Because there always seems to be people waiting to be seated, I have ordered takeaway twice now. Menu items tried included:<br/>- Elotes: a corn cob; small and therefore overpriced<br/>- Guacamole: tasty, but the 'totopos' were a weird consistency, neither crunchy or soft.<br/>- Hongo quesadilla: overflowing with mushroom and cheese. Only order if you like the taste of mushroom - it is so overpowering you won't taste the other ingredients.<br/>- Hamburguesa, chipotle mayonesa: a good, tasty hamburger. <br/>- Jalapeno slaw: coleslaw. There was no heat in it.<br/>Basically, my biggest concern was that there was no real 'taste' to the food. Central American food should be spicy, tasty, filling, and non-greasy (I have worked in Honduras, Costa Rica and Panama) and therefore, this food is not 'authentic'. I believe you can add sauces to food if you eat in, but this just seems like tokenism to a rich, proud history of cooking with real ingredients. It is sad that Lucky Lupitas seems to have decided to cook what the average Adelaidean would not be afraid to eat, rather than cook according to tradition.

Had a brilliant meal here last night! Beautiful food and surroundings! Will definately be back. Lovely helpful staff too!

Fabulous. Four of us went for dinner, place was packed. We had a beer out the front while waiting for a table, great atmosphere. Staff were great with informing us on table wait. Sat down and ordered several dishes to share, great way to taste the menu. The food was fabulous, staff were great chef is the man. Could not fault the experience. Thanks for a great night.

Lovely Lupitas!. Love the decor. Love the service. Love the corn. x

Finally got there on Wednesday night, decor is brilliant, staff are very good, place is packed and the food is very very good. Very authentic with the soft tacos standing out. The ribs are as good as everyone is saying. Very good value, if you feel brave ask the chef for his own chilli sauce.

First time at Lucky Lupitas tonight and can say it was a fun experience! My girlfriends and I get together once a month and tend to try out new exciting restaurants each time - this time it was my choice and (going on my cousins tag on being there earlier in the month) I thought this place sounded ideal. On arriving, the quaint and kitschy cafe was bustling with business, not a spare table to be seen, but the guy behind the counter was welcoming and when I asked about a table, he was apologetic when he said they'd be about a 15min wait. We waited outside on the footpath, but seeing as it was a nice night, we didn't mind. Note of mention: definately get there early or call ahead. Once we got a table and were seated we delved into the A3 sheets of menu. Have to mention, those who like a full English menu - beware. Otherwise you may have to ask the waitress what 'masa' means (and when we did we got a blatant "flour and water" so we figured it's a sort of dough!). But once orders were taken, we got to really have a look around at the amazing decor - and it really is! Rustic tabletops, painted wood beamed ceilings, mismatched chairs and cutlery and the copper piped lighting across the ceiling makes an truly unique atmosphere! I love the little accent of fresh flowers on the table surrounded by hot tamale/Tabasco sauce bottles too - super cute! The food (I had the chicken nachos) was ok, the guacamole was tasty, although I was pressed to find if there was any chicken in the dish and my corn chips seemed a bit soggy for my liking. I think price wise, it's good value and if I was to go back again I'd be more inclined to order several of the street food dishes and put them in the middle to share with my friends. All up- Critisms - wait to be seated, lack of explanation from waitress, very noisy when busy and margarita was just a little bit too bitter Positives- great value for money, fresh ingredients, great atmosphere, inviting decor and just that little bit different from your ordinary night out. I can see this becoming a trendy little place for students and locals alike! Definately like the fact that as we went up to pay and the girl asked who had the margarita the chef said "ME!" and took a gulp from his pitcher! Haha gave us a laugh! Only thing I think I'd change is maybe a little more Latino music to put people in a more traditional Mexican mood - my friend said she heard a Portugeuse song playing tonight :S haha! Overall - good night at Lucky Lupitas!

Huge fan of this true diamond in the rough! Been there twice and have left feeling overwhelmed with my meals and the unique atmosphere! Service is efficient and a shared passion is apparent. Every detail has been well thought about and for the real foodies in Adel will be greatly appreciated! 5 stars in my books!

Lucky we got a table. Ate here on the recommendation of a friend. Arrived at 730 and the joint was kicking - had to wait a bit for a table but well worth the wait. Ordered 2 small plates and 2 street foods (all vego dishes) between us and it was all awesome! The mushroom and spinach quesadilla's were brilliant and the corn with chipotle mayo very inspired. Bill came to under $32 for everything (we didn't drink). Everything about the place makes it feel like it's the real deal. I wouldn't normally go out for this sort of food as I think of mexican as something I can make quickly and easily at home.......this food though is really fabulous, fresh and different though, not to mention well presented and no probably could not recreate it in my kitchen - hats off to the chef! 5 stars!!!

Real Mexican not like the rubbish served up at other Mexican restaurants. Get there early

If typical stodgy food court Mexican food is your thing then best you head for westfield. If, however, you want awesome, fresh, authentic Mexican then head to lucky lupitas. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the chef knows his stuff, even down to making proper fresh (not jarred) salsa! Keep it up!

Staff were fantastic. Cool decor. Had the Vegetarian Tortilla Bake and split some nachos. The bake was rich with sauce and great variety if vegies as a filling with a tortilla base and crusty cheese topping. Can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu. Was pretty busy for a new joint, I hope it keeps going.

Mind blown.. Amazing food, steve was such an attentive waiter. the corn and chicken tacos are definite highlights.

Fantastic! The place has such a great authentic feel to it right from the moment you enter. A Cosy Mexican tavern with an understated touch to keep it casual. The friendly south American waitress greeted us and we took seat at the rustic style tables. Margherittas to start with! I took this time to notice the people around us. There was the couples and families who were here for an experience and then there were people who seemed to be coming in for a favorite meal. One was reading his newspaper. A couple of people getting takeaway. Looking at the menu I could see why. From lamb ribs and prawn cuisines to nachos and hamburgers. It catered for all. For a started we chose the corn snack. Mouthwatering. We ordered the lamb ribs. Apparently slowly cooked over 8 hours. The meat just melted off the bone. I couldn't believe this was Mexican. As we later chatted with the chef, this is the true taste of Mexico. Dish after dish we were so impressed by the refined Mexican flavours. The prawn dish was balanced with an array of flavours. My favorite of the night. Other chicken orders had a nice kick to the marination. But I couldn't believe was that I walked out of the Mexican restaurant blown away by the dessert. Pricing was great. Will be back soon

Amazing Mexican. Very enthusiastic staff and great setup. Menu is varied and has different options for what ever size meal you want.<br/>Recommand the Nachos or Guacamole. Tacos are soft tortia style and taste great.<br/>All dishes are lightly spiced but with the selection of sauces you can make it as hot as you like. Great SHU chilli scale display also!

If you love Mexican and Latin American food, Lucky Lupita’s at Bedford Park is the place to be! The small, haphazardly decorated cantina is always busy and those in the know have no problem waiting for a table. Not to worry if you don’t get a table straight away – the heaters will keep you toasty in winter and warm popcorn will take care of your hunger pangs. Once you decipher your way through the menu you’ll recognise some familiar items, but probably not quite as you’ve seen them before. Don’t be perturbed though – there are plenty of options and they’re all incredibly delicious. If you’re a sucker for tender, mouth watering meat and don’t mind a bit of heat, we highly recommend the duck taco…or Taco de pato as it’s otherwise known as. Presentation and uniformity is definitely not the order of the day at Lucky Lupita’s; everything is about flavour and a great experience. No glasses or cutlery match on any table and the furniture looks more like something out of a garage sale than a s

(Full review on blog) <br/>This place is for: those looking for a good Mexican restaurant in the southern suburbs. If you are from the city, I reckon it’s worth going to.<br/>Excellent for: casual dinner dates, small groups. It might be hard to accommodate big groups as seating is limited and you can’t make bookings (check with them though – you might get lucky).

... My first ever "Elote" Mexican grilled sweet corn ($6.90) a long time coming! This one comes with a bbq's kiss of sweet-smoky char, a slather of chipotle mayo, a sprinkle of white Mexican cheese and a coriander garnish. Smokey, sweet, crunchy, creamy, salty. Absolutely, finger licking good!

Lucky Lupitas is amazingly popular, even on a weeknight! While the neighbouring restaurants barely had any customers, there were people lining up to get a seat at this place.

The first impact when I entered the restaurant was a very great feel of the Mexican atmospheric vibe and it did feel like I was in Mexico with a couple of friends having lunch. The atmosphere was perfect and the food made the moment even better. I ordered a Mexican burger or should I say, “Hamburguesa,” which was a really good, it is so good that it’s one of the best burger places, I would recommend everyone to try in South Australia. It could be a bit tricky trying to eat it, but as messy as you get, it’s definitely worth it. Mexican hamburgers are a delight to eat and give a good kick of spices in the sauce, and you must always have some chips on the side!

Lucky Lupitas is one of the most hyped up restaurants In Adelaide, but so far this blog, it has been the biggest let down for me. I expected flavoursome food filled with exotic spices and crazy new dishes. What I found was a menu I couldn’t understand (it doesn’t help if you have to sit underneath the board that explains, in a collage, what the dishes are), waiters who did not care and a dish that tasted like Dettol (anti bacterial fluids). Yes, even if you don’t read any further, just beware the empanadas de Pollo if you have an acute sense of smell (see below for details – and no, I’m not crazy).

Oh I wish I could say I loved my first impression of Lucky Lupitas but unfortunately that just wasn't the case. The claim of being "one of the best burgers in Adelaide" will have to be justified another time.

Last week I headed down to Lucky Lupitas  for lunch with a friend. This restaurant has a pretty big reputation for great Mexican with stories of forty minute wait times and people queueing up before the doors have opened for service. We arrived at around 1pm, right in the middle of lunch service and were seated within ten minutes. I've since been told we were really rather lucky, but turnover seemed pretty quick. Unfortunately they don't take bookings, but do have a take away option if waiting for a table just isn't your thing. When we were seated a bottle of water was brought to the table with menus pretty much immediately. For me this was a good start, providing or offering water is a service I believe everywhere should offer without charge, especially if the food leans to the spicier side of things. The decor of the venue is unique, Mexican themed with mismatched knick knacks. All of the serving ware was also mismatched which was cute. There is a huge chalkboard which explains some

Not exactly the same menu as ULC, but the ULC Dog and appetizers do ring a bell.  Loved the sound of all their burger options but unfortunately two stomachs can only fit in so much. The spicy cheese dip was creamy and spicily satisfying but probably needed a bit more cheese to it.  The corn crisps need a lot  less seasoning on them.  Eating them plain was almost impossible since they were incredibly salty and mildly spicy at the same time. They are one of the restaurants promoting street food in Adelaide who is getting it all so right. From the mismatched glasses and crockery to the rickety tables and casual staff in jeans and non matching T-shirts, everything is perfect. There is no overstated pomp or

Décor is rustic modern, think old wooden tables and chairs teamed with exposed industrial pipes running along the ceiling. Ambience is cozy and with the addition of some Latin beats playing in the background, heck, I forgot I was in Bedford Park! The setting is great for casual dinners with friends or family.

Authentic Mexican/ Latin American cuisine – simple and delicious! Funky little converted shop with eclectic matching décor and atmosphere. Seriously good, genuine tucker – bring your lunch and dinner appetite. Guaranteed to leave satisfied without breaking the bank! <br/>

a little place called Lucky Lupitas has opened its doors and this Mexican & Latin American restaurant is blowing peoples’ culinary minds. I use the word ‘little’ to describe this place because that is exactly what it is. You’d be lucky if you could fit 20 sumo wrestlers in for tea and if you are unlucky enough to rock up right after 20 sumo wrestlers then make sure you bring a jacket because you will be out on the street like a hooker, waiting for someone to call “Cheque please!”

Each table had four bottles of chilli sauces varying in their levels of spiciness. Mild Tabasco being the least spicy and the habanero one being the hottest. I must say however that it was the Salsa chipotle was the tastiest with medium heat but a nice smoky BBQ like flavour. I love spicy food so, my medium heat might be spicy to you. My advice, taste it before your drench your food in it.

In a small group of shops across from Flinders Medical Centre and Flinders University, there's a Mexican & Latin American restaurant called Lucky Lupitas. The place has been buzzing since it first opened in February 2012 and doesn't look to be slowing down anytime soon. With plenty of hungry clientele within walking distance and no bookings taken, you're lucky if you don't have to wait for a table at Lupitas. We stopped in for lunch on a Friday. We arrived before noon and the place looked empty from the outside. As we went inside, we found some funky Latin American decor and more people than we expected. Still a few empty tables though so no wait for us! For those perplexed by some of the words appearing in the menu, the board on the wall has some helpful explanations. We decided to start with Jarritos ($3.50 each, imported from Mexico) and Guacamole ($8.90). The drinks were very refreshing with the seasoned corn chips (totopos) and guacamole dip. A very nice start to the meal. Next co

Adelaidians, there’s a new hip Mexican and Latin American joint in town located in the burbs of Bedford Park! You may have seen the name ‘Lucky Lupitas’ pop up on your feed on the book of faces with friends checking in or if you’re a frequent visitor on Urbanspoon , it’s been on the top 10 ‘Talk of the Town’ list for quite some time.

So – the food at Lucky Lupitas is awesome. And if you are eating in – GET THERE EARLY.

I must admit to not knowing that much about Mexican food, at least not authentic Mexican food. I do know that locally it generally seems to fall within two types, stodgy Tex-Mex or sexed up overpriced street food. Given that I don’t like either of these I am pleased to say that Lucky Lupitas appears to be aiming for that much rarer third category, decent food (if a little unadventurous) at a reasonable price. First up I really liked the look of the place. Arriving just after opening finding a park was difficult and with the rate this place filled up we were lucky to get the second to last seats. Once you enter you are confronted with a small, cosy dining area with exposed copper piping and concrete floors. The staff are friendly and drink offerings include an unusual prickly pear margarita. And in something a bit unusual for Adelaide it was funny to see someone else taking photos of their food. Between the three of us we decided on two appetiser style dishes while we were waiting for o
