Review T Chow Chinese Restaurant - Adelaide

Katrina
The food was so so good. Only let down was the restaurant was freezing and the staff were quite rude.

Waited half hour to have first dish served. Food was bland. Ordered seven dishes and felt the need to kept checking with the waiter about the last dish while running late to a fringe show. Was first told that the kitchen was preparing our last dish, and then informed after another 20min of waiting that kitchen has made all our food. They then tried to charge us for 7 dishes. Not the worst restaurant but definitely better options out there.

Walk past it regularly but finally gave it a try. Tried their yum cha menu during Sunday lunch time. Ordered satay tripe, prawn Cheung fun, squid tentacles, scallop dumplings, Chinese chive dumplings and chicken feet. Everything was well seasoned. Nice flavour with the chilli used. Tripe had good texture, not too chewy and did not have strong odour. Dumplings were nice in size and flavor. Service was very attentive at the time (Sunday afternoon). Food came out timely and steaming hot. Will come again and recommend others to try.

Wonderful service. Arrived after 9pm and they were still able to seat us. The food was delicious and a reasonable price.

Delicious Food and has amazing value for money! Ate with friends from Guangzhou in China and they rated these dishes highly in terms of authenticity! Highly recommended! If you want to see a video review of this restaurant and its food, feel free to check out my YouTube.

Good location, prompt service. Very sharp on the COVID QR code check in. Reasonably priced. The younger staff were very polite and friendly. Food was quite good. Very spacious restaurant.

Yummy yum cha/dim sum. Prompt, polite service. Good food variety and fresh prawns. They also have a yum cha menu if you want a particular item.

Driest duck I have ever had. Came out in 6 minutes. So basically was cooked days ago and reheated. Never again

We purchased the 6 yum cha dishes for $32 on Groupon and would say it was totally worth it! We were able to choose any of the 6 dishes listed on the menu including stir fry noodles. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the food arrive quickly. <br/>We ordered the prawn dumpling, prawn and scallop siu mai, deep friend prawn dumplings, steam rice pasty with Chinese donut, fried squid and stir fry beef ho fun. The fried squid was our favourite - full of flavour and crispy! The size of the prawn dumpling and siu mai was also a very generous serving size. I think we will definitely return again!

Having been to Ding Hao yesterday, we thought we would give t chow a try since there was a recommendation by one of the reviewers .... biiig mistake <br/><br/>Shui Mai was like dog food couldn’t eat it, too porky and dry seems like it was over cooked. Right when I thought Adelaide was on a roll with their Chinese cuisine. <br/><br/> Service was ok, but would not recommend :( <br/><br/>

This place used to be good but it's been going downhill for a while now. It needs better chefs and a change in menu. The bulk of the food lacks flavour and was presented weirdly. I couldn't eat it. The waitresses and waitstaff are nice and attentive and the custard buns are the 2nd best I've ever had. I'll give it that. I hope they can do a revamp of the place and make it good again :)

I have now been here twice and my second experience was not as good as my first experience here. We were in search of a good yumcha place and where else do you start but in Chinatown. As usual, we had the chicken feet, tripe with combo sauce, tripe with satay sauce (first for us), fried radish cake, sio mai, and Portuguese Tart. Costumer service is pretty average here. The lady that served us was not friendly, which is I do find is a trypical occurrence in a lot of yumcha places. Majority of the dishes were not as tasty as I would have hoped for but I was pleased with the chicken feet and tripe on combo sauce. I don't think I will ever order the satay one. Customer service may have had an impact on our overall experience and dampened my mood to going back anytime soon.

A decent Feed <br/>But nothing to rave about the banquet option is ok, personally I think you’d get more if you order your own meals but all in all definitely one of Adelaide’s top Chinese restaurants.<br/>The sizzling beef was simple yet delicious and the duck was definitely succulent with a hint of sweetness.<br/>It was a Friday night and I felt the venue was quite busy I don’t recommend this place for an intimate setting.<br/>

Wow I am shocked at how much T Chow has gone down hill. I was notified that the manager Patrick has left. Explains a lot. We ordered Yum Cha and will not be returning again. Highly disappointed in the quality of food. If you want good Yum Cha go to Star House Don’t waste your time here.

Terrible unauthentic food (salt & pepper squid with a tough salt batter, nothing else, no even a hint of pepper. BBC hotpot overcooked, oily, flavourless, apart from salt. Garlic chicken, overcooked dried chicken that was oily but failed to be crispy on the skin), dirty oily tables: there was a whole layer of grease on the lazy Susan before we even had food on it yet, rude service: staff are pushy, not happy we used entertainment card and started clearing dishes and plates over our head when we still chatting. Never again!
Maya Liddle
Terrible service. Terrible price. Waited 3 HOURS for food and did not even receive everything we ordered and then they were rude about it when we questioned where our food was. Watched a full restaurant of other tables come in, order, eat and pay. Would give it 0 if I could.
Sarah Mohamed
Absolutely disgusted with the service. I booked a table for my sisters birthday, WAITED 3 HOURS FOR FOOD. People who came in after us were getting their food before us which was appalling. At least 5 tables ate, and left who came after us while we were still waiting on entrees and mains. we had to complain AGAIN and ask where our food was, all they had to say was that they were sorry when they completely messed up. All of our orders were so simple and were something you could quickly make at home so we all didn’t understand what was going on... turns out they forgot about us and our order when the waiter had taken a photo of our order.... When we asked again they haven’t even started making our food... by this time it was 9:00PM we booked our table for 6:00PM. they were rude when we asked where our food was. Towards the end they forgot our entrees... we got some of our main foods as they missed a lot of the food we ordered. The owner finally came and spoke to us and said he was sorry and was going to give us discount for the food. We carried on eating the food.. then He comes out again with a free plate of prawns shouts out “who is the birthday girl” my sister did not eat the prawns as she doesn’t eat them. Ended up telling him we didn’t want them and my sister replied with “you have ruined my birthday”. Which he certainly did. <br/>We finish up, my mum and sister go up to the owner to pay for the meal... originally the food came to a total cost of $655.... for 16 of us where we only ordered two pots of rice and some meats which on the menu was $50 dollars. he charged us individually for rice and jugs were $17 each.. he took advantage of my mother because we had complained several times about where our food was and that he got all of our orders wrong. He then takes $100 dollars off as we didn’t get all of our food, then charges us for the “free plate” of prawns which was bullshit. My sister and mother refused to pay $555 for the food. My mother had to end up paying the amount as she felt so embarrassed and intimidated by the owner. It didn’t even cost that much, once received the receipt he charged us for things that weren’t even on the order... Never again will I come here, the food wasn’t even that good.
Gwendoline T
Love the Peppercorn Chicken and the Malay Kong Po Chicken but it is a shame the Salted Fish, Chicken and Tofu Hot Pot is no longer on the menu. Otherwise, would have given them a 5.
Victor Reddington
Fairly decent although nothing absolutely superb. All in all the quality of the food is decent and the prices reasonable however it ulsuffers from some superb competition in the vicinity. Would I return? Yes. Would I go out of my way to go here? Probably not

Came here for yum cha today and I was quite surprised by the service and the speed of the food coming around. Usually, not a lot of yum cha places offer above standard service, but this place hit just that! We were greeted, and not treated like anything less, and the waiters always said excuse me when they came around with food. Overall, the yum cha was quite nice and delicious, though nothing wow or fancy. It's a place I can definitely see myself coming back to in the future if in need of yum cha.
DL
We popped in for what we hoped was a cheerful lunch and were really disappointed that we didn't select one of the stalls in the food hall! The food was very poor quality, service and ambience also poor! It was also very expensive for what we had. No love here!
Jenna Thiele
Food is just deep fried with no love. We had squid but it was bland so we asked for some dipping sauce. The whole restaurant was smoked out and we didn't realize this until we had already sat down. There was no explanation why. I guess the exhaust fan in the kitchen was broken? We came here on the Sunday night and I found out a friend went on the Friday night with the same experience with the restaurant being smokey. Seems greedy to remain open with such an unpleasant atmosphere. I won't be back.

Today was my second time to this restaurant in a while. The yum cha is still good but I feel the quality has dropped a bit over the last two years. Pork and prawn dumplings were good and the highlight was the taro yum cha, crispy tasty and juicy inside. We had 6 softener items for yum cha and they were all fairly good. We also had some fried rice and sweet and sour chicken which was really good. I would try this place again but if quality continues to drop I don't think I will come back. The staff are very friendly and try hard.

My husband was craving some yum cha and we were passing by so called in. We had the har gao and a couple of other types of dumplings. They were fine. I also got the Portuguese egg tarts and these were freshly baked and too hot to eat to begin with, a problem when you are in a hurry. The decor is quite bland and tired and needs freshening up. The staff were attentive enough. A guy at another table was complaining loudly that something was cold almost frozen, not sure what it was about but we were about to leave so not sure how that worked out. Overall an unexciting place that serves typical yum cha at a reasonable price.

T chow is right in the heart of Chinatown and has been around for a long time. We went recently for a work function and had the $38pp banquet. The food was of an ok standard but very plentiful. We had starters which were all deep fried and look like they came straight from the freezer bag. Mains included fried rice, crispy beef, garlic prawns, chicken, sweet and sour pork, roast duck and salt and pepper calamari. Again the food was quite generic and nothing particularly fancy but it meant we all went home with full stomachs. BYO is available and was made use of when we dined. Service was ok, plates took a while to be cleared but they may have thought we were still eating as there was a lot left over. A good place to eat a cheap Asian meal that will fill hungry stomachs and keep weekend drinkers hangovers in check the next day. Book ahead for big groups.

After trying most of the places in and around the china town area, it was a relief to find one as good as this. The service was great and the food was bought out quickly. Taste was authentic Chinese with a hint of western. Reasonably priced. Would recommend.

Located on Moonta Street, T-Chow is one of the largest restaurants in the Chinatown district. Their menu is extensive and their prices are reasonable. On previous visits the food has been alright - nothing to complain about, though to be fair, there's also not much to get excited for. I also agree with other reviewers - the service is average, at best. <br/><br/>Most recently we visited T-Chow with a group of 10 people to celebrate the Chinese New Year. To my surprise the place was full, with an additional 20+ tables setup outside. <br/><br/>The food was a $43 set banquet which included three entrees, seven mains and a dessert. The banquet price was reasonable, however, I thought much of the food was average and probably no better than a take-away eatery. Most dishes were deep fried, whilst others were drenched in sauce. The duck, perhaps, was the only highlight. <br/><br/>The place was very busy on the night, but the service could have been better. Some dishes came out seconds after each other, whilst others took too long. One dish was never received and drinks had to be followed-up. The lion dance and Chinese martial arts demonstrations were entertaining.<br/><br/>In all, T-Chow needs to improve their service and some of their dishes before I could recommend it to other people. At the moment, there's much better Chinese eateries along Gouger Street and in Chinatown.
Uberfrauline
We have been to this establishment many times before and always quite enjoyed the yum cha. But it has been a while. What's happened? The yum cha menu seems so average now, I am sure there were better items on there previously. Its very run of the uber mill now. Nothing outstanding at all, but nothing bad either. There are now better yum cha places around. Sorry guys won't be returning.
Hungry Lexmo
Our friend has warned us about the place, but we didn't listen... We went there for their yum cha. It was pretty disappointing. To be a good yum cha restaurant, one has to ace its har gao (prawn dumpling) and siu mai (pork dumpling). The har gao was okay, skins were slightly thick, but the sui mai(s) were horrible. Felt like they reheat frozen dumplings because the skins were dried and tough... Other dishes were pretty mediocre/disappointing.  It is Chinatown, go other places for yum cha if you must.
Kis The Cook
Ventured in to T-Chow on a very quiet Saturday night in the city. Most venues were closed and we were a bit peckish so we popped into T-Chow for dinner. It was average. Coming from Sydney which has a very big Asian dining scene, I wouldn't recommend.
Bec Zhang
Flew in from Brisbane, $50 corkage fee, how ridiculous, it is unheard of, I am not sure why they can rip people off like this..busy service is average..
Jucey Adrew
expired  food with one ugly-looking waitress, the sucker woman actually couldn't smile and very rude behavior, purely poor service, time to transfer your business, boss.
MandE
Average food at best. Yum cha is very hit and miss (unfortunately more often miss) - some dishes are ok, others are not nice at all. Try to get the dishes from the carts (in the bamboo steamers) because these are more likely to be hot, whereas the more expensive 'specials' on the trays tend to be getting cold. <br/><br/>Avoid the 'siu mai'. At least the one that was put in front of us was comprised entirely of fish sticks, which was just wrong. The restaurant should also invest in some thicker cups which insulate against the hot tea as well. <br/><br/>Aside from yum cha, I have eaten dinner (a la carte) here before and the food was fine, though not exceptional.
Jewel Eats
Really enjoyed their teo chow stewed duck, which has been stewed for hours.. Try the soup noodles with duck.. Delicate and delicious. They also do yum cha.
Sit Low
The food is enjoyable and the service is really fast. Good range of options on the menu and particularly enjoyed the dumplings. Will definitely be back.
T For Tango
Very authentic chao zhou (teo chew) style cuisine. It's one of the best Chinese restaurant in Adelaide. Some of the dishes are very unique authentic chao Zhou dish not many restaurant have these
Laura
Pretty poor service and underwhelming food. While the menu is good and most items are quite tasty, there's always something lacking. The BBC is presented nicely in a clay pot but is quite bland compared to the BBC at other Chinese restaurants near by. The Chinese broccoli was odd and boring. Good for bigger bookings as the place is huge but the food is way better elsewhere.
Dianne
Diem. Worse place to eat.food was bad. Service was bad. You get kicked out before you finish eating. How rude. Not coming back for sure
Ian Townsend
This was a disappointment, would of been the most tasteless Chinese food we've ever had!
Sgina684
Disappointing Chinese New Year 2015. Felt like part of a production line with the all too quick meals one after another. Chinese New Year was over by 9-9.30pm ready for the next lot of guests to replace us. For a table of 12, food was nice but very minimal for the price. We were still hungry afterwards<br/>Won't be going back again
TheWorldLovesAdelaide
T Chow is just off Gouger St in Moonta and is a late night haven for the hungry (at least for us) with superb Cantonese cuisine. Come here for hot pots and sweet and sour dishes. This is another place we come to for duck (being duck junkies). Friends also rave about the Yum Cha here including pork dumplings and ox tripe.
Ymmas
Deep fried prawns mince with chinese mushroom filling roll. I like the deep fried prawns mince with chinese mushroom filling vegetable cover, I forgot what that call. I am sure I can only eat that in here.
Graham W
Had the Scoopon yum cha lunch - pick six dishes. The food was very good-tasty and well done, showing the subtle flavours of each dish. Service was average, wine a bit on the pricey side especially per glass.
Molly Connell
Terrible, overpriced and westernized Chinese food. Last meal there was basically inedible, dumplings disgusting and peppercorn chicken peppercorn-less and tasted very strange.
Micbenetti
Always Good. My favourite Chinese place in Adelaide, the decor is nothing special but who cares it's about the food and for the price it's unbeatable. If your a lover of good Chinese food definitely go there, never been disappointed in 8 years of coming here!
TheReal_Willo
I have been eating here for years! Good value for money, use to be cheaper... Good quality and serving size has reduced in recent years but in saying that it's still high on my list for valve and quality for money! Can't go past the hot pots and crispy beef!<br/><br/>Thumbs up for T Chow
Facebook User
Disappointing. We were after fresh and flavorsome Chinese. unfortunately this was not the place. the food was over-salty, too greasy, and tasted like frozen ingredients not fresh. deeply disappointed.
Luke Delbridge
Younger male waiter working today 11/12/13 around 2pm is one of the rudest people I have ever encountered. Service is general was terrible, impolite and far from welcoming. Can't believe I actually paid for my food after being treated like a second class citizen. Disgraceful
Lucky Star
Best congee in adelaide but yum cha is not good enough when compared with other restaurant at Chinatown.
FoodChick
Good service - food not so much. Although I found the service very attentive and they did their best to meet mine and a friends dietary requirements, I still found myself feeling rather sick (bloated) after eating my hot pot. Can only put it down to the fillers and additives in their meals. I ordered the braised beef hot pot with extra green veggies, and although it tasted nice, the beef had a lot of fat on it - which I dislike, and the broth was quite thick, 20min after the meal and my stomach began churning - I think I'm just not used to the additives they use in Chinese cooking. <br/><br/>Overall, nice experience, good service, but standard Chinese food with not much to go on, use a lot of fillers and thickeners in their dishes to make the dish more 'filling'. Will not come back.
Erica McBeath
The t chow has gone DOWNHILL. The last 2 visits the food was NOT good. Also the service was sloppy & the toilets have deteriorated towards yukkyness. I wont be going back
Lapisk
We went to T-Chow and ordered green tea but got black tea instead. Ordered chicken and sweetcorn soup but the only bit of chicken in it was the egg. The waiter brought us spare ribs which we never ordered and asked if we wanted to cancel it. Couldn't really cancel something we hadn't ordered! We ordered crispy beef but what we got was what looked like battered and deep fried beef skin served with sweet and sour sauce, the meat was dry and tasteless. The chinese vegetables in ginger sauce were also tasteless. The spring rolls were doughy, dripping with oil and overcooked curry puffs. Everything screamed out poor management, skimpy and cheap ingredients. Not going back again.
Eating In Adelaide
Inattentive, slack staff. Used to really like this place, been going here since I was little kid however i recently had a bad experience at T-Chow. We ordered the picked cabbage, garlic beef and chinese greens. When the food came out two out of the three dishes were not what we ordered. After something that resembled a spring roll came out we politely asked whether this was the pickled cabbage which we had ordered and were immediately told that it was... when it was clear it wasn't! Crispy beef came out instead of garlic beef. We decided to just deal with it as I had previously enjoyed the crispy beef. The crispy beef was dry, tough and overcooked. In general, staff acted like they were doing us a favour by even being there- definitely won't be going back!

Where has the tender duck gone?. After being regulars at T Chow for at least 15 years and sharing great meals with family and friends, especially the famous T Chow tender duck we had a disappointing and less than average meal with interstate visitors last weekend. It got off to a bad start, with no tender duck on the menu- it had run out, salt and pepper squid that was flavourless pieces of seasoned, deep fried flour and overcooked green peppercorn chicken and limp green vegetables.Steamed rice was ok though. Having had such consistently good meals at reasonable prices over many years, it seems that sadly the quality has been compromised as it's popularity has increased. Maybe it's time to look elsewhere....
Just Keep Eating
Small but delicious. My only negative about T chow is the small serves in comparison to many other Chinese restaurants on / around Gouger St. I always find that we have to order 2 or 3 more dishes than we would normally to be satisfied, and since their pricing per dish is comparable to most of the other restaurants, it does mean your a bit more out of pocket.<br/>It is still a great place to go with friends, especially big groups cos they cater well for this. BYO is super cheap, so always helps to pull us in. Green peppercorn chicken is a must, and the T chow duck of course.

AWESOME!. T -Chow resturant is awesome - in everyway. I have been here twice. Once for a birthday dinner & once for a family dinner. The food was yum and the service was great!<br/><br/>I saw mixed reviews for this place & was unsure to go there but I am glad i did! I will go again :)<br/><br/>xx

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible service! The staff here are extreamly rude. Its a shame because the food was great! We were in a large group that arrived at 7:30- we were not served entrees until after 8:30, we had to ask at least 4 times to say we were ready to start. <br/>Bit of a let down really!
The Suburban Snoop
A goodie... The pick of the chinese restaurants in the city and I have eaten at them all, thanks to my dear mum who is a Chinese food fanatic! T-Chow does a decent job at Yum Cha for lunch, but their normal menu food is very good. Some excellent hot pot dishes, good salt and pepper dishes and an excellent T-Chow Duck. There green peppercorn chicken is outstanding too! Could be the best of the lot!<br/> <br/>A definite must go when in the city. Enjoy!
Eatingaroundtown
Best Chinese in Adelaide?.......YES!. Our absolute favourite Chinese restaurant in Adelaide. I use this as the bench mark that I compare all other to and even that which i have eaten in Hong Kong trips. Superb food, not the absolute greatest service but I am not concerned with that when I com here, it is sufficient and courteous enough, very prompt but for me most importantly and what I look for when I come here is a fabulous food experience and it delivers that to me each and every time! Eat here every opportunity we can and never disappoints
John
Who knows what you will get. Didn't like it. Should be audited.<br/>Depending on what night you go and what you order you will get different things. It doesn't matter if its busy or not.<br/>Most of the dishes you receive are just reheated dishes from food that is cooked days before and frozen. They like to get people in and out quickly and you can often receive some dishes less than 5 mins after ordering them and they don't look fresh. <br/>When they do cook the food fresh the food and standard is good but you rarely get a dish that is freshly cooked. The food standard at a function is completely different to the standard of food you get when you come as a couple or family.<br/>I also believe some patrons receive better quality of food than others. <br/>If you are to eat at Tchow try to order dishes you know they have to cook. Lastly its over priced for the poor quality of food and service you get.
Dolce
FROZEN chicken TINY serves. Just got take away, and the green peppercorn chicken was still a little frozen. I don't think the entire container was more than a quarter full. I don't know why I paid $13.80 for 4 tablespoons of frozen chicken.<br/>I also got the Ma po beancurd and it was gross mince, not high quality at all.<br/><br/>I'm pretty sure they sold me dim sim that was actually deep fried tofu, not the prawn and pork that I ordered.<br/>I think it might be ok if it's not a busy night. When it is busy though, food is undercooked and some of it might still be disgusting.
Lara
Was worried after bad dumplings for entree, but the mains were wonderful. Highly recommend the pork eggplant hotpot, soft shell crab and green peppercorn chicken - yum. Service was ok.
Marky Mark
This is one of mine and my friends favourite places in Adelaide. It is always busy and the food is really good, especially for the prices. The standout dish by a country mile is their duck. Any variety, it is all amazing. Arguably the best part is the cheap corkage, so a good time is always had when a few bottles of red are brought.

On second thoughts.... I'd like to revise my previous glowing review of T Chow after last night's experience. The food was good, as always, so no complaints there. However, the service was very poor. The waitress who took our order was on the ball but everyone else was lacking. <br/><br/>One waitress knocked over a beer all over a chair, quickly cleaned it up & ran off without so much as an offer to replace it. Another waitress was visibly grumpy & rude. We waited a long time for our second order of drinks & for water. <br/><br/>For a supposed classier Chinese dining experience the service was terrible! I've read other reviews about poor service but never had the problem until last night. They were very busy but I don't see that as an excuse: employ more staff & ones who want to be there?
Irene Koay
Very poor service and bad communication. The dishes is pretty good, but they ran out of rice!!!!!! We had to wait 25 mins for rice!!!! The waiter said it was 5 mins wait but the rice came only 25 mins later and the dishes are cold by the time the dishes arrived. The rice was half cooked and there was no apologises given for the half cooked rice!!!!! Very poor service and no discount was given also for the bad service after we made a complain!!! Dont come here unless u want food that comes 25 mins before your rice!!!!!!!
Homerofbrisbane
Reliable. Nothing to wow about but always reliable good food. The duck still tastes as good as when I first tried it many years ago. Services can be a bit stretched during full capacity but overall we got what we needed. Keep up the good works!

LOVE IT. Have been eating at T Chow for over ten years introduced to me by the Chinese bosses I worked for and they still eat there, They have the best service that such a busy restaurant can provide. I highly reccomend Drunken chicken, deep Fried pork and prawn dumplings, cabbages rolls, Pork and eggplant hot pot, pickled cabbage, the best salt n pepper squid, Devine Steamed ginger and shallots, Anything you try here if it is not enjoyed go back and try something else. TOTALLY WORTH THE EXPERIENCE. Fast service and well priced.
4chillies
So much food, so little money. I returned after a long absence and was pleased to find that the food and service was still excellent. Whilst drink service can be a bit lacking (purely because they're so busy running food to the tables), you will not wait long for your food to arrive. Everything we ordered was delicious but I can definitely recommend the shallot cakes, slow cooked duck, ho fun noodles and green peppercorn chicken.
Shrek3
What a disappointing night!. We went there for dinner for our wedding anniversary. The food was disappointing. We ordered tea leaves with prawn - there were 10 times more tea leaves than prawns. Absolutely very oily!!! Other food was OK - same flavour as we last tried. The worst thing came after dinner. I got itchy hives all over my body. I wondered what that was in the food that gave me this. I only had the same thing like 20 years ago. I called the restaurant to ask what they used in the dishes we ordered. They just said it's normal food. I asked if there's any MSG. They said No. I didn't eat anywhere else that day. I hate hives. I had to take antihistamines. It totally ruined my special day. Definitely won't go there again!!!
Roo The Guru
Food wasn't great for the amount of money. but the service was good. Don't get the shredded duck soup

Love this place!. T-Chow is the place to go if you want a huge meal with a large group and if you love BYO. My group of friends is very much a group of wino's and with a corkage fee of $3 per person, you can't really go wrong! And they actually provide you with decent glasses which is nice! I've heard their wine list is fairly good as well, although we've always just brought our own. <br/><br/>The food is really yummy and the atmosphere is great. The lazy susan table makes this the best place to order a wide variety of dishes and share it around. The prices are great as well. Plus, the place is huge so you can almost always guarantee a walk in will be available for you.

Forget Ying Chow. Where we used to go to Ying Chow, T-Chow is now our favourite spot for 3 reasons. 1. We have never been turned away, it's the sheer size of the place that always allows us to get in without a booking on peak nights. 2. The service, who said that at Chinese resto's you have to suck it up and just injoy the food, at T-Chow service is genuine and with a smile. 3. THE FOOD is immaculate fullstop.
I Eat Adelaide
Absolutely fab..... About the only thing missing from this esteemed group at our Dec 11 lunch was Eddie and Patsy. T Chow now has Yum cha on Saturdays and so our regular 3 monthly luncheons seemed set to change. However the lunch menu with our same old favourites was available and we managed to get through about as many bottles of wine as people on the table and some. As usual a great lunch.
Hot_Bella_015
Great place!. Fantastic food, fantastic service.<br/>Have been going here since as long as I can remember... 10+ years. The serving sizes have remained relatively the same and most of all the quality of the food has stayed the same - delicious. Meals come out quickly and staff are always willing to help and very friendly. Atmosphere is very relaxed, you can tell everyone is enjoying their food!<br/>T-Chow Peppercorn Chicken, Pork Green Beans and Chinese Olive, Peking Style Crispy Beef, Scallops, Chicken Satays, Sweet Chicken Corn Soup, Sweet and Sour Pork are a few of their mouthwatering dishes.<br/>OH and I must say, best fried icecream around. Serve comes with 2 decent sized rectangular pieces of fried icecream (batter is just the right thickness, nice and crispy and icecream is still in one piece and very creamy) with some yummy caramel drizzled over the top.

T Chow has been serving good chow for well over a decade, and offers all your traditional Chinese dishes. The staff here are friendly and inviting, and the service was pretty good.
Daisy Yum (daisyumblog)
This restaurant is located in Chinatown, in fact in one of the best spots in Chinatown, directly outside the food courts. Always full of people, especially on a Friday night where it is Market day. We have been to this restaurant a few times now, and every time the standards have been inconsistent.
Blueslullaby
The food is served hot and fast and service is delivered with a smile.

An Adelaide institution! Expansive restaurant with a tasty Cantonese menu, tailored especially for large groups – embrace the lazy Susan and $5 corkage. Dust off some cellar dwellers, round up the friends and go feasting for under $40 a head! You won’t be disappointed.
Food Obsession
This was really one of the best dim sums that I've had. It’s a shame I could not take the leftover noodles back to WA. I miss it already. This place is definitely on my list for my next visit to Adelaide! *very very subtle hints to Mich*

....the food. It was all tasty and filling. I would have liked a bit more of a crabby flavour with the soft shell crab, but the San Choy Bau was fresh and crunchy. I think it’s the perfect start to a meal. I of course over ordered, because I can never settle on one thing, so there was quite a bit left over by the end of it.

A quick pit stop into T-Chow after a late night gig Friday night saw C and myself opting for something small, comforting and warm!

Perhaps Adelaide's most popular Chinese restaurant, T-Chow specialises particularly in Chuichow cuisine.
