Dear All Please Avoid. Menu - "RUDEST Waitress, Cheapest and Over priced food, Longest waiting time". My friend is on medication since yesterday. NOTE: Kindly ensure to book a GP before your visit. Have a great day

Good food overall, staff were friendly. The price is a bit on the higher side compared to other Vietnamese restaurants.

We called in after a long medical appointment for a late lunch. Lovely surprise! Very nice indeed. We'll probably go back!

Food is fresh and so well presented. Very tasty and colourful. People are lovely, easy parking and access. Great choice of food and drink. A really enjoyable night even though we arrived after 8pm on a Monday night.

This place has become a regular for me as their lunch specials are a delicious ample serving for the price. Their main menus deliver flavour and presentation is fantastic. Great wine list with good specials; and with a smile and speedy service. I do have to rave about the seafood noodle salad I had today, tried this for the first time and wow! An explosion of flavours in your mouth are to be experienced.!

A good little restaurant with typical Asian fusion menu. I’ve had lunch here a few times and the dishes have always been enjoyable. Generous serving size for the lunch specials menu.

Very lovely fusion of Asian style dishes. Would prefer basil in the Pho than corriander (celantro) but service with a smile

An asian style restaurant rather than a Vietnamese restaurant (ranging from Japanese to South-east Asian). Food was ok

I love this place. The staff are super friendly, always keen to send a smile your way. There is room to sit inside and outside, or the option of takeaway. I have been here multiple times but have only ever ordered the Lunch Special - Chicken Rice Vermicelli with Salad and Fish Sauce Dressing. This dish is an absolute stand out for me. It is DELICIOUS. The chicken is tender, the serving size is more than adequate, and for vermicelli salads, it is one of the best I've eaten around Adelaide. The place seems reasonably empty during lunch time (many people come in for takeaway lunch), so if you're looking for a quiet place to meet with a friend or colleague, this is a great option.

A pleasant place for couples and families. Food presentation is good. Set up for for single dishes rather than sharing. Prices above average but dishes, though looking great, were just OK. We did clean all five mains and left nary a basil leaf. Duck dish was good, cold rolls were loose. Clear why some locals would like it. We chose it for location and to try it out. It was fine, but will trek out to Addison Road next time.

Two for Lunch on a quiet day. Place was empty which was a bit worrying but we didn't need to. Started with cold rolls and satay then into a beef salad and chicken curry. Excellent. The beef salad was a particular stand out. Service was friendly and just the right speed! Happy to recommend!

Such a quaint little restaurant. Went here on a Monday night as not much else is opened and it did not disappoint. We got a variety of dishes and all the food was absolutely delicious, particularly recommend the banana and coconut curry. Dessert was also very nice which often isn't the case at Asian restaurants. Only downside was that the service was quite slow as there was only two front of staff, not sure if this was because it was a Monday though.

Nice simple Thai food. Been a coupe times and has been consistent. Lunch special at around $10 is great value. Will return again for take away.

Went the other night with some friends. Wait staff were friendly but seemed very frantic and busy even though the restaurant was only half full. Pretty expensive menu with more of a Chinese feel than Vietnamese- had a noodle and veg dish that was very saucy but rather bland.

Amazing food. There cold rolls, spring rolls and tofu red curry are to die for! Small intament setting and over all quick service and DELICIOUS food! 10/10 will continue to go back.

Absolutely tasty food!!!!!. The food at Vietnam Gourmet is very fresh and tasty. The service is outstanding and the restaurant is very tidy and clean. The food is flavoursome and I absolutely recommend trying this place!!! We love it and have been many times. Keep up the excellent work.

The best one ever in Adelaide!. I'm giving this one 5 stars, it was the best vietnamese restaurant in the whole of SA and possibly Australia. You could tell the food was cooked with passion, chefs who love food and cooking. The food was perfect and authentic! Very clean and the staff were most friendly and gave the best service. I would ignore any negative reviews! This is the best vietnamese restaurant.

irst thing I noticed was how clean and classy the place looked. Definitely not something I expect of a good Asian eatery. The restaurant facade isn't really a factor when it comes to judging an Asian restaurants food, it's more of an indication of the price tag. The staff were lovely though, which is a pleasant change. Since we were running against the clock, we ordered promptly and as promised our food was out in 10 minutes. There is only one type of pho on offer. Suited me, as my favourite is the Beef pho...

Not recommended unless you're a fan of food that is both expensive and poor quality.. We ordered a couple of salads here for a light dinner. The salads we were handed not two minutes later were even lighter than the $20 note I'd just paid for them. Warm, sickly sweet pork on a bed of limp disintegrated lettuce. Maybe their other stuff is good, but this was so bad we'll never find out. On a more upbeat note, my cat really liked it.

There is MUCH better, more authentic, Vietnamese in the area. Food that is fresher, tastier, and far better value for money.

Not So Squeezy. An odd combination of experiences at our visit to Vietnam Gourmet.
a strangely crowded lay out of tables meant we three sat at a round table for six which was fine but it was extraordinarily wobbly. Any weight or pressure placed on the table would threaten to send items on the other side rocketing into the air!
Even the the folded serviette solution couldn't provide relief: most disconcerting over the course of the evening.
So whilst waiting for service and trying to avoid putting our elbows on the table we tuned into the lively FM early evening format in house radio broadcast and wondered why on earth it was set on that particular genre as it seemed to be at odds with the general attempt to be a 'serious gourmet' restaurant.
We decided it must have been for the benefit of the take away customers.
We did get prompt friendly service attention throughout.
However the general consensus was that all dishes were 15-20% overpriced although there is an attempt to provide 'gourmet' selections eg soft shell crab well presented but at $29 for a smallish serve tended to make the wobbly table seem even more apparent.
Wine again a limited but top end selection so expensive as well. Going for gourmet again but with FM music blaring and take away customers popping in and out of the smallish dining area it seemed that they try to operate with a foot in all camps as I guess you must do but it didn't add up (apart from the bill) to a big experience for us.

Lunch special.. This place is quite expensive at night, but at lunch time you can get a huge plate of hawker-style cuisine for under $10 and it's always good.
I get the Kway Teow, my mother gets the Pud Thai, everyone who goes here gets the same thing every time because it's always good and it's reliably satisfying.
Friendly staff, a decent wine list, a nice quiet place to enjoy a tasty lunch.

I love this place. I have been eating occasionally at this place for about 5 or 6 years now and the food is always great quality and well presented.
It can be a little pricey (hence the word gourmet in the title to justify the price) although takeaway is a bit cheaper. The portions could also be more generous.
A firm favourite of mine and likely to be for some years.

Beautiful will be going back.

Good food, bad service Trie.... Good food, bad service
Tried VGR for the first time last night and not sure we will be back.
The positives - great food and an excellent range of gluten free options
The negatives - reasonably expensive and shocking service. We waited nearly 30 minutes to order, then a further 90 minutes for the first of our entrees. They forgot about our other two entrees and then waited more than 45 minutes for our mains.
Whilst the food was tasty and well presented, the wait really spoiled what could have otherwise been a good meal.

Bad bad bad experience. The most terrible experience ever. The food was super expensive with low quality. My friend and I went there tonight; we ordered a prawn paper roll for entree. It tastes ok. But it is full of noodles instead of prawn or other vegetables. It costs $9.50 for 2 small rolls. We have also ordered 2 main dishes, beef and prawns. They are about $29 each. When the meals come, they were terribly small portions. Prawn curry would just have 5-6 small prawns in the main dish. The beef was just full of vegetables stir fried with few small pieces of beef. The rice we ordered was for 2 people which were even worse. We thought the rice they gave us was just for 1. But it actually costs $5 for that tiny rice. Anyway, with all that and a glass of wine, cost us $80.

I have been to some nice restaurants. Thai food or Chinese etc. There are lots of places have reasonable prices with nice favorable dishes. But this place is just shocking. I don’t mind the price, but it should at least deserve the high cost. This restaurant just give me an impression of wasting my money and gain northing.
Too expensive and poor quality. We will never go back to that place again.

Waste of money- poor service. We ordered via delivery. A peeking duck dish, one squid plate, one chicken salad with veg dumplings and veg cold rolls. What did we get? A inedible rubbery pork dish, two squid dishes, Pork dumplings and prawn rolls. This was $58.00 right down the drain and to add to the to discomfort I am unable to eat pork.
Never again

Terrible experience!. I used to eat here all the time and loved every experience. It's been a while since I've eaten here and after tonights experience I will not be going back.

I arrived at 8:35 alone and asked for a table for 2. I was happily shown a seat and was offered/and ordered a drink whilst I waited for my friend to arrive. A maximum of ten minutes later I had the waiter tell me the kitchen was closing in 10-15 minutes and asking how much longer my friend would be. The waiter then proceeded to pace around and then stare at my table from behind the counter.

When my friend did arrive at 8.45 the waiter was straight over allowing no time for us to consider the menu properly. Once we had received our meals the staff took no time in packing up the restaurant around us. So much so that the waiter thought it was ok to light up a cigarette as he packed up the tables outside. By 5 past 9 ALL staff were standing at the counter, ready to leave for the night whilst staring us down as we ate our meals. It was a horrible experience and all staff made it very clear they wanted to go home and did not want us there anymore. We ended up throwing back our drinks and leaving at 9.15 due to how uncomfortable the whole situation was.

If you want to close the kitchen or know it's going to close soon don't allow patrons to sit down at 8.35 and serve them a drink knowing they are waiting on others.

Perhaps if a restaurant wants to be that strict on when it closes they could change the hours from "til late" to "kitchen open til 9" or be honest with patrons when they walk in and ask if they could still have a table for 2.

Completely unprofessional. Will not be going back.

Unhappy eating. There was not enough food to constitute a main course despite costing $25 - $28 a plate, so it represented poor value for money. The meals took a particularly long time to arrive although we had mentioned that we had a theatre reservation when we booked. A glass of water which was requested was not provided. The waiter was pleasant, but I could not recommend this restaurant.

I went to Vietnam Gourmet last year and loved it, however I went again this year it was terrible. They must have changed chefs because while we ordered the same dishes as last time, the food was completely different- so bad that we didn't finish our food. Not only did it taste bad, but it didn't even have many on the ingredients listed on the menu! Really disappointing considering it had been so good previously.

Silken and superb. I would like to congradulate the chef for preparing the most silken and tendor chicken (GF) I have ever eaten, after a week in hospital, this food was a plate from heaven! The chef's first questionwas to ask if I had any allergies, this is the first restaurant to do so, and easier than dealing with relos who still don't get it after 30 years.Beautiful food beautiful soul.
Thankyou
Wilde

Ok not too bad. While the name suggested possible vietnamese food, we ordered dishes that were incredibly similar to thai. so we all came out confused as to what we just ate. thankfully it was light on the pocket .
while the name suggested possible vietnamese food, we ordered dishes that were incredibly similar to thai. so we all came out confused as to what we just ate. thankfully it was light on the pocket .
seafood salad with pippies -hooray first place in adelaide i have been to that served pippies. pity they used the same papaya salad dressing
The seafood salad with pippies -hooray first place in adelaide i have been to that served pippies. pity they used the same papaya salad dressing

With a place called Vietnam Gourmet, you would expect the menu to be entirely Vietnamese. While most of the menu is classic Vietnamese, there are other Asian dishes thrown into the mix such as Chinese, Thai and Japanese.
