Review Korea Restaurant - Adelaide

I quite like it. First its tasty. Second the price is good compared with other Korean bbq in city. (But of course the luxury meal taste more delicious, my comment is based on the feeling from price and the meal’s quality) Anyway, here is next to the “capri cinema” can make the night or a date quite easy and happy. I will recommend to everyone. :-)

Bad dining experience, not real Korean BBQ, we didn't even have Korean side dishes, the meat was fairly fresh but there was no Korean barbecue sauce, only soy sauce, when I said I needed garlic slices they just gave me half a garlic and I had to peel the garlic myself! Will never came back

Named as Korea restaurant but run by Chinese😂, interesting… Staffs are lovely, but the manager (probably not) is extremely rude!!! We waited roughly an hour for the raw ox beef tongue, and there were not many people in the restaurant. 3 mins after the staff brought out the last meat, the manager rushed to our table and said ‘your need to leave at 7:15 (was 30mins left)’, without saying anything else, how rude… We understand the time limitations of BBQ store, but not this rude… The price is pretty reasonable

Prices at first glance are quite reasonable. However, the quality of the food is of a lower standard. The dining experience itself gave something to be desired. The theme of the restaurant was pretty good though.

We did have a lovely time at the restaurant for my Mum's 79th birthday party. She loves K-drama so it made sense to head here and drink some soju and barbecue some food. The price is good, though we probably didn't need the dessert. The owner made it special for my mum by turning down the lights and bringing a small cake with sparkler - the whole crowd helped sing happy birthday. This happened at another birthday table, too, during the night. A very friendly, happy atmosphere that got a bit noisy at full capacity (which it was on Saturday night) but that was fine. Thank you, Korea team!

I regularly organise group dinners and was excited to go to this restaurant but was incredibly disappointed. The grills are tiny and difficult to cook on. The service was terrible. I rang before and asked if we could pay separately and was told that we could but was then when it was time to pay the staff refused to let us paid individually. Haft of the people in our group had finished eating and were frog 🐸 marched out of the restaurant to stand outside in the rain as they were over booked. Terrible customer service.😖

Horrendous food and service. They literally wouldn't let us order food until an hour after getting there. Drinks took about just as long. Tasted terrible too. Only recommend to someone you really dislike

My order was lost on a table of 5... Everyone else got their food while I had to wait 15 to re-order :-( everyone else loved their food while mine was rushed and not that nice. The restaurant was chock a block so I'd say my experience was not normal.

I used to like this place but it has changed. My experience now was an incomplete korean barbecue. They only give you the meat. The only dipping sauce was soy sauce. You had to buy the side dishes and lettuce. It was very lacking. The only good thing was the staff were friendly. There was even a dead cockroach in the ladies toilet.

It's great for a family/friends do. I read someone who thought the menu confusing - maybe they think English is confusing. I have been going for quite a while. More recently Aunt's 80th birthday.Fuck authentic - this is just a good night out - apart from the clown who spent 45 minutes on his phone during the meal - he was going home alone that night.

The quality of food is very poor. It is not authentic korea and the menu is very confusing to order from. There are many better korean restaurants in Adelaide to go to.

Please do yourself a favour and do not come here. Despite the name being Korea restaurant there is nothing Korean about this place. Low quality of meat and food took long to arrive. What a disappointment.

It said Korean but they were not Korean, dishes were not Korean style.
Even thou you are not Korean, you can open Korean restaurant, but if you decide to open Korean restaurant, at least you should be able to make close enough taste of Korea, don’t you think?

The hashtag on their menu is “authentic Korean”. As a Korean-Australian from Sydney there was nothing authentic about the place. The menu has Korean written on it but that’s about it. Their meat are like super cheap bulk buy quality and the food offered isn’t even Korean style. The staff only speak Chinese and next to no English. Highly overpriced soju and the rice portion was tiny. Would not recommend.

The meat tasted average, very strong charcoal burnt after taste as the staff is not helpful to clean the grilling plate regularly. Bad service. The grilling plate is also too small for cooking, have to wait for food to be cooked

The entertainment book took me there. I was not expecting much. It turned out to a good surprise. The food quality was very good. Especially the OX tongue and Pork Belly were very tasteful in different ways. Service was good enough. They tried their best to look after the guests. But more training would be needed. As a self cook BBQ restaurant, it's also tidy enough. I will definitely go back no matter I have or don't have a discount voucher.

4 of a chose the cook your own selection
Fantastic food & plenty of it, added the fried ice cream for dessert as we had heard it was very good whic was correct, service was good without being outstanding
Only dissapointment was the lack of Korean beer as we prefer to drink the same type of beer as the food we are eating, advertised 3 types but only had 1 available & then only had 4 of these
Would definately return for another meal

One of the first Korea BBQ restaurants in Adelaide. Has beautiful traditional gates that welcomes you into the restaurant. Lovely food, sides, and desserts. I would recommend you pick a few plates of meats and some side dishes, as well as fried noodles/rice. My favourite is the pork belly, pork, chicken, beef with vegetarian fried noodles. I get the assortment of side dishes. I highly recommend finishing off with a fried icecream which is the absolute best I've ever had in Adelaide. If that doesn't tickle your fancy, I would also recommend the chocolate hot pot (fondue). Definitely a great place to go with a group of friends - they have cheap drinks too!

The Korea Resturant has been in my life for over 4 years, I try and visit often throughout the year as it's one of our favourites in my household.

Being able to barbecue your own food is surprisingly fun and it's always extremely tasty. It's simple food but it's great. I recommend ordering a different assortment of meat, along with rice and vegetables.

I haven't been here for a long time. Feel like Korean BBQ tonight and miss the flavour of barbie from this restaurant. But........ it ended up so disappointed! Wasn't as good as before and the service is bad. I don't think I will go back again.

Best part of the night were the pickled vegetables, meat tasted average, the ribs were 90% bone and the grill was ridiculously small and left a strong charcoal aftertaste due to staff not cleaning the plate for us at all. Wish i could say the service was redeeming but unfortunately all of the staff looked miserable. Not a single smile on their faces and forgot to bring us our table water after being asked more then once, despite not being busy at all! Even when we left the staff did not even acknowledge us.

Not returning again. Better off spending a bit extra at Giwa down king william road.

Was not impressed at all. As someone who has spent a lot of time in ROC Korea and DPR Korea, I can safely say that this most defiantly not authentic Korean food. Not even up to Australian Korean standards and I am baffled why it currently is rated 3.6 stars. It's a BBQ for sure but certainly not a Korean BBQ. When I started ordering my food in Korean the staff were completely baffled. Not one waiter seemed to speak Korean which confused me. I ordered Ssamgyopsal (pork belly) and Bulgogi (marinated beef). While the taste was okay, the quality of the meat was average. The meat arrived at the table soon after from a waitress lacking a smile, I asked if there were any Banchan - small side dishes of Korean vegetables. I was told that I must pay for them, but after seeing that the average price for condiments is $6.50 for a small dish of pickles, I was quick to reject. I was also shocked to see that you also must pay for Kimchi... I mean seriously? By the time you pay for the condiments and the meat you have a comparable bill to a top Korean BBQ restaurant in Melbourne or Sydney. I most certainly will not be returning.

I love this place!!!

The food is always great here. There is no way you'll leave this place hungry.

Exceptional value and there are always complimentary little top ups by the owner should he notice you've run out of rice or side serve salads or tea for example. Truly a nice gesture that makes you feel welcome and appreciated.

I often take my friends here as not every one gets to try Korean food and it has soon become one of mine and their favorite Asian cuisines.

The restaurant can cater for just one or some rather large groups like ours the other night, we had 12 including me and were all attended to promptly throughout our stay.

They offer a BYO corkage as well if that's your thing.
Laura
Cute place with a great atmosphere and friendly staff, but the theatre in BBQ-ing your own food is the selling point, rather than the quality of the food. I wouldn't return.
Angie
Terrible, tasteless, bland kimchi (we had to pay for kimchi!) . Meats were all right though the BBQ stove was tiny and burns stuff easily. The chocolate hotpot - yes, literally in a HOTPOT bowl - was the weirdest fondue that I've ever had (they stirred around some cream, chocolate, and Tia Maria in the hotpot, & it was served with a small serve of fruits).
I don't know why people like this place, maybe I came on a bad day...? The only reason why I can think of why people like to come here is because the meat is cheap, and they give a free dessert for birthdays. If you like food, don't come here.

Awesome in every single way

Never get tired of this place. One of our favourites, no fan fare and no hoo haa, just great food and great value on every visit.

Fried Icecream. Dinner Last Night,as a return visit we had tried to get in for about the past 3 weeks and always packed so that says something. We enjoyed our bbq, food was fresh and sides were great, fried icecream for dessert was a hit, quite busy for a Thursday night, would go again. The only problem, staff were busy so it was hard to ask for refills of rice, kim chee etc and they forgot the water, and some sauces for the meat would be good too.

Awesome!!!! Highly recommend!!!

Always nice. Grilling your own food is fun, but it does get smoky and quite loud in the restaurant. The food is yummy and there is good variety if you don't want to cook your own.

Cheap and Excellent Atmosphere. We ordered a banquet and got entrees, a large plate of meats and garnishes, and chocolate fondue. You cook it all yourself in a mini grill on your table, so everything is super fresh. The experience is fun and novel the manager very friendly. He even turned down the lights and brought out a fried iced cream with a candle for the 3 people who had a birthday on the night.

My only complaint would be that the place is very smoky from everyone grilling, and quite noisy (probably because it was packed on the Saturday night we went in).

I'm a regular to this place and I've never been dissatisfied.
Great service, tasty and affordable food, and fun atmosphere. And if you like your beer or wine crisp and cold then this place will deliver to your satisfaction. Just one last thing...wear elastic waistband!

Very nice. Very good restaurant!!!! we like it

Generous servings. Very yummy. Friend got a complimentary fried ice cream for her birthday as well as a complimentary shot. Service was attentive. Fried rice was delicious. And so cheap at the end of the night. Great little restaurant

I'm not usually a fan of 'cook your own' places ( why go out?).... But this is one place I am willing to make an exception for !! Great fresh seafood and meat, lots of choices and really well priced. The condiments are a bonus!

Banquet is amazing value. It's a fun night out with a bunch of friends. Only issue is the beers aren't always as cold as they could be. Service is fantastic though.

We celebrated my daughters 12th birthday here, with 9 kids and 5 adults it was a large booking and quite rowdy! The staff were wonderfully friendly and the service was impeccable! The food was fun and delicious, and for my daughter they surprised her with a deep fried ice cream ball with a sparkler on top, as well as the whole restaurant singing happy birthday! At the end of the night they were more than happy to split the bill for us, making life very easy for us, and even gave us lots of compliments! I would thoroughly recommend dining here for anyone and everyone, a great night!

Great fun for a few mates cooking around the grill. Get stuck into the Korean beers! Service dropped off as the night progressed. Will definitely be going back.

Really nice restaurant. We went for the set menus as we were not totally sure how it all worked. Beautiful. The only thing that disappointed was the chocolate hot pot. Will definatly go here again.

At least the condiments are nice !!. Never really a fan of korean BBQ, hey nothing really fanciful. they bring out some raw dishes and then you cook it your self. most of time its overdone or slightly raw. it is fun but too fiddly. the pickle vegetable were the saving, loved it and wish they actually replenish it more often

Korean BBQ, Goodwood. Had a fantastic night. Was my birthday and when the owners found out, got a complimentary fried icecream dessert with sparkler and candle and the whole restaurant sang "Happy Birthday". Then got a complimentary liquor to go with coffee. The family loved the whole experience of cooking the food yourself over a small bbq on the table. Something different and well worth a vist. Food was very tasty. Loved it. Fantastic hospitality - something you don't see these days.

Great value for money and great food. Service is not as good on really busy nights, but alright most of the time. The barbecues are fun to use and most of the meals are really healthy, too! One of my favourite restaurants in Adelaide.

As soon as you arrive at Korea Restaurant, you can already smell the smoke from the grills emanating through the closed doors. A nice traditional gate awaits you as you enter the premises.

Nothing beats having warm food in your tummy on a cold winter day whilst savouring the carefree moment. What I like about this place is the ample space available for diners to share with large groups of friends and quick, efficient service. It can get a bit noisy but that still did not put us off from having a lovely evening conversation. Ok, I know this is definitely not where you would go for a little romance but heck, I live for the moment;) In terms of price, affordable. Only problem is the lack of ventilation in the dining area and hence, be prepared to smell smoky when you exit! We opted for the set menu: Rice, soup, a choice of meat and unlimited refills of sides. Beansprouts, picked cucumber, cauliflower, kimchi and seaweed~ we had about 3 refills simply because it was super refreshing:) Beef~ The grill did not take long to cook our meat:) Alas, dessert! Fried vanilla ice cream encrusted in cake crumbs and topped with a drizzle of honey. I like how a bit of the ice cream oozes

My BBQ essentials- chilli! The chilli paste had an adequate spicy level so I was happy We both ordered Set C $18 for Beef Seafood Combination And just enjoy what you've cooked I came out smelling like smoke! Omgg but $18 was pretty worth it for the set. Service was excellent and it's conveniently located opposite Eggless so you can enjoy dinner and then dessert after. Unless of course you forget to make a reservation which we did today and failed to get a seat Other Korean BBQ Places: Charcoal Hwaro Korean BBQ 4 Table Korean BBQ 133 Goodwood Road Goodwood, SA 5034
