Came across Dumpling King while browsing zomato so we decided to try it. The dumplings was affordable as they were serving 15 dumplings for $10.80. Taste was ππππ while the noodles with beef taste ok maybe πππ.
As the name suggests the Dumplings are what honestly matter and trust me for 10$ a plate of 15 pork dumplings is an affirmative steal. They are fresh and taste lovely with the addition of some light soy. The other dishes on the menu are also worth a shout out like the crumb fried pork and chicken and the nasi goreng. Please donβt try to get too adventurous with dishes you are absolutely not familiar with as you will end up not consuming it.
I had the special fried rice for take-away. The size is good for one (10.8$ / serving). The taste is well balanced. I was told that all fried rice has the same ingredients with the different sauce being used. Good amount of seatings inside with hot drink in thermos on each table. Efficient service as I didn't have to wait long for my order. The payment is cash only.
After a tiring day at Hahndorf and Mt Barker, we went back and on the way back to our apartment in the city centre we passed this decent taiwanese resto. Because the weather was quite cold at night, we decided to order a bowl of chinese spinach & pork wonton noodle soup and a bread crumbed pork chop on rice to be shared.
Wonton soup was quite good actually...the wonton skin was soft and thin and liked the soup. On the other hand, pork chop was a loser here. Pork chop was too dry...they deep fried it too long.
Service was good especially the friendly and helpful owner.
Really tasty and delicious food. We ordered the pork dumplings, chicken prawn dumplings, fried rice and spring rolls. The servings were very generous and the price was really value for money!
We ordered takeaway and the food was served to us quickly with a smile. We definetely recommend this p
If I am in the mood for Dumplings this is my #1 choice. Plump, tasty dumplings in chilli oil broth - 15 for around $10 is exceptional value. The Nasi Goreng fried rice is simple yet tasty, also cheap. Decor is very budget but suitable -plastic chairs and tables, a bit squeezy but free green tea and chilli paste when you dine is is much appreciated.
I love dumplings. And Dumpling Kings serve you great dumpling.
I love cheap dumplings. And Dumpling King serves you cheap dumplings.Β
I love quick dumplings. And Dumpling King serves you quick dumplings.
Nuff said? Nuff said.
Oily and unhealthy but I like it! Lol
Maybe should be renamed as the 'Dumpling Prince'??. Well I was very excited to be having my first trip to Dumpling king, as I am a mazzive fan of asian dumplings.
We arrived to an almost empty restaurant (at about 12 O'clock on a Saturday afternoon) and were able to choose out own table. I wouldn't have said it was the cleanest place I have ever eaten at, but i've definitely eaten at worse so I wasn't too worried.
I was firstly impressed with the free tea on the table, hot and waiting for you as soon as you sit down.
I ordered the BBQ beef with fried noodles and spring onion sauce, along with some pork dumplings (a serve of 15) that I shared with a friend. Our food came out quite quickly and was rather unimpressive to look at. The dumplings looked soggy and my noodles looked plain with just noodles, beef and a few tiny bits of onion in the bowl.
The noodles were ok, slightly underdone in my opinion and the majority of the beef was very chewy. There wasn't anywhere near enough sauce for my liking so I had to add lashings of soy sauce. The dumplings tasted better than they looked and were quite satisfying.
Overall the food was ok, and I would go back again to try some other dishes out. For $13 I couldn't really complain, but overall I was a little disappointed.
My main concern is that if this guy is the Dumpling King, then why are there only a few chocies of dumplings on the menu?! My expectations were of 30 different types of dumplings that came in servings of 2 or 4 to try, instead there was limited choice that came in servings of 8+!!
More like a dumpling Prince if you ask me....
Great Value for money and the food is awesomely good :)
A great quick lunch. Fantastic dumplings at a great price. You'll have to share a table and there is no EFTPOS, but the food is fast and delicious. Perfect lunch break food for city workers.
Cheap and yum. You get what you pay for so don't expect too much in the way of service or food quality at Dumpling King. My advice is stick to the dumplings! Especially the pork steamed dumplings. I had the chicken dumplings once and they came out undercooked (not good).
This place is one of my all time fave cheap eats though.
Yummy dumplings and a good place if you want to eat out with your omni friends. 3/5
I actually got bored eating them. After wolfing down maybe the first 8 to 10 dumplings, my jaw started to hurt a little and eating the rest of dumplings became a chore. Unlike gyoza, the dumpling skin was pretty hard and chewy.
