Great ambience and atmosphere! Good food, great service. Tried the squid starter at lunch and it was a pleasant experience.
Loved the ambience for it being so spacious which is not easy to find.
My pregnant wife and I walked In on sat evening with no booking. We were advised they where fully booked. I looked around to a half empty restaurant and said really! The waiter said ok you cN have a seat at the bat I was like she is pregnant 2 mins later we got a booth. Staff 5 star drinks came out quick. Starter tasty but coukd have been bigger. Mains came out 30 mins later so tasty full of flavor appeared to be home made pasta rissotto however the portion sizes need to be bigger or Gove the option for entre or main sizes

The food was excellent and especially colorful and healthy for a kids menu.
The fact it was kids eat free and it wasn’t loud even though there was a lot of kids. The kids were well behaved in the whole restaurant (at least that day)
What I see could have been improved on:-
The wait staff... they didn’t seem to be happy to be there or dressed like they were in hospitality so I could work out who was a customer and who was serving us.
The service was SO slow, well over an hour wait for the meal.. we were starving and yes is was busy but not that busy.
The hectic nature of the wait staff, there seemed no method to the madness of the staff.
Even though they had the later issues I will be back because I want to support this business. With the right staff this place could boom! I love it for some reason.. I’ve been to the Perth one and now this one and I liked this one more but the Perth one had a bit more spark and once they get that right in Adelaide it will be great all around
We enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch for two. Beautiful food, relaxed ambience topped off perfectly with the very knowledgeable and personable Callum attending our table.
Delicious food and beautifully presented, although a bit too salty. Gorgeous fit-out of an old Art Deco bank. And the staff were very friendly and happy in their jobs. A sign of a great business.
Could be hard to find as the entry and signage are quite discreet. I suspect lots of people walk right past, not knowing of the treasure within.
Would love a Jamie’s to open up in Melbourne.
I was in town for a night and after wandering around the whole of Adelaide City looking for somewhere to eat dinner I decided to pop in here by myself. So glad I did. It was totally delicious, staff lovely, and a beautiful space. I had the very yummy tomato and ricotta bruschetta then the absolutely delicious roasted mushrooms with creamy polenta and rocket. So good. My only regret is that I couldn't order dessert (because I was too full!) as the poached pear that arrived next to me looked amazing. Simple, fresh and yummy Italian food. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Adelaide to try the pasta and dessert!
The food was outstanding every time I go to this restaurant. The pasta dishes are outstanding and the wait staff were very attentive. I love the large open space and décor, you can actually have a conversation.

We had been avoiding Jamie's Italian in Adelaide for a while because of two disappointing meals about 2 years ago, but decided to go as it was a convenient place to meet for Sunday lunch with people staying in the city. The quality of the food was actually amazing with those strong flavours Jamie Oliver is known for and really fresh pasta dishes. We were all impressed especially because we had been so disappointed in the past. Two of our party were vegan and the kitchen easily accommodated a few changes and there were vegan friendly items on the menu too.
The restaurant is beautifully situated in the old bank building, it is a bit noisy with the high ceilings and open kitchen but it is not too bad. It's a really comfortable place to be and the staff are very friendly.
Bit of a mixed bag. Food was tasty without being exceptionally. Service similarly was good but definitely not great. I'd say it is a bit overpriced for what is presented.
Food: having cooked a lot from his cook books, the food it's pretty true to form. Great flavours, interesting dishes, pretty wholesome. Had the Italian Nachos and Tagliatelle Bolognese. Finished with affogato. The prices seem reasonable and the meals are great, though I feel the serving sizes are well on the small side. 2-3 courses would be needed for a complete feed.
Service: the restaurant was busy, so the wait staff probably weren't at their most attentive. But otherwise they are trained and have personalities. I think making a booking is essential here, full house even on a Tuesday.
Ambience: nice building, love the decor. Low level lighting only when the sun went down. A bit dark for me.
Great place with lovely pasta such as their famous prawn Linguini & Fresh Crab spaghetti. Their posh chips and spicy fries wee awesome. We also went to try his Italian burger but the meat was slightly over cooked and nothing special but everything else was superb. The staff weren't that friendly in my opinion as a little bit too posh acting for me.
We had an excellent experience at Jamies! The food, particularly the sicilian chicken and the grilled salmon were delicious. The kids meals options were also a big plus. Since it was very busy (on a saturday), attention from servers was a little hard to get but will wait to see how it is on a weekday. We will definitely be visiting again!
I went here for a family get together and ordered a steak. overall I was happy with my meal, and on the night we had great service. It is very busy, and quite noisy. Only rating it a bit lower as it was a little pricey, and after watching a few of his videos I was just expecting more from the name
Amazing ambience and good food. The grandiose of the place takes you by surprise. We tried Prawn linguini, arancini, nachos, tiramasu. Mostly above average.

Maybe not quite living up to the reputation but great atmosphere in this beautiful old building. Tasty food without being amazing but complimented with excellent service. A little pricey for what it is and some other great options in town but certainly worth a visit.
This ever changing menu is full of fresh and tasty produce. The truffle risotto, polenta chips, lemon meringue cheesecake and the Italian mojito are my favs. They're not always on the menu, but there's always plenty to choose from. The fresh pasta is always a good choice!
A recent girls weekend took us to Jamie's Italian for a fancy mid-week dinner. The atmosphere and ambience of the restaurant immediately made it my favourite Jamie's restaurant, having been to others around Australia. The service was prompt, professional and friendly and the food was delicious! Very reasonably priced for the calibre of the food, with drinks, mains and dessert just over $100 for three people. Would recommend, 10/10 would visit again!
Attended a small birthday dinner here tonight and had a great meal with quality service to match. Would definitely recommend to others looking for a quality dinner spot.
The food is top quality. I would highly recommend the pasta made fresh on sight. The lighting is great for the old bank feel. The service is so friendly. My favourite Adelaide restaurant.
After reading negative reviews on here. I decided to give this place a try. Welcomed as soon as I walked in by a blonde female waitress. Friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed it. The meal and coffees. Delicious.

My wife and I have always talked about dining at Jamie's Italian and what better occasion than our wedding anniversary. We were seated in what we thought was quite a dark venue however our eyes adjusted and we found that the lighting was just right and set quite an ambient mood. Perusing the menu excited us so we decided to get a few small entrees to start. We opted for the Ultimate Garlic bread because let's be honest, who doesn't like garlic bread. We also chose the crispy squid with the garlic aioli, the worlds best olives which were unbelievably creamy if you could describe olives as creamy as well as a prosciutto board complete with crispy crisp read and grissini sticks.
Mains we chose the ox tail lasagne which was a very generous serve of slow cooked oxtail with home made lasagne sheets and an amazing bechamel sauce. We also shared a prawn linguine which had the right amount of spice with the addition of chilli. Because it was a special occasion we also added more carbs and selected the posh chips which had Parmesan and truffle. Best chips we've ever had.
Then dessert time came around and we sat around uhhming and aghhing before deciding to get dessert. Let's be honest, we were always going to get dessert. We shared a panacotta which had the creamiest texture along with a nice balance of sweet and at times bitter. It was a delight. We also shared a scoop of mango sorbet with honeycomb and nuts and seeds as the two optional additions.
It was a great night with amazing food, service was great however the only gripe we would have was we had to chase up our prosciutto board 5 times! Almost gave up but I was waiting for prosciutto all day. Who knows why it took so long but with that being the only downer, fair to say it was a very enjoyable evening.
Came in for lunch and had a spicy tomato pasta and Italian breads. Good portion sizes. Food was tasty but the tomato sauce had a bit too much chili for my liking. Decor is nice and staff were friendly.
The food was very good, the service could be but slow. Very gloomy feeling as it is very dimlighted. You might find it difficult to see your partner.

I suppose that sometimes one's expectations are set too high. I was pleased with my board of mixed tapas including mackerel pate and clams. The pasta dishes did not quite come up to the 'wow' factor however, top marks for the garlic bread.
I would like to go again and try more dishes before committing too much. The restaurant is housed in an old bank building and the toilets are housed in the old vaults below ground which are very interesting.
Ok ok. I don't give high scores out regularly but far out, landed in Adelaide and walked up the street to find Jamie's Italian, which I have visited before in Brisbane and was underwhelmed. Well well no need to worry my faith was restored! Fabulous afternoon drinks which eventually we couldn't resist but to have dinner as well. The staff were fabulous and the standouts were definitely the two young guys Alex and Alex which made our night so much fun ! The food was good a little bit expensive but hey that's what you pay for a brand like Jamie's ! Definitely a good night had

Pretty disappointed...I have been to Jamie's a few times and unfortunately after each visit I have thought that both the food and the service had missed the mark... by a long way...
I grew up near Jamie's parent pub in Essex. We went a couple of times a year. He and my brother used to play in the beer garden.
Love his books, TV shows, Fifteen, causes but NOT this restaurant.
I went with a client who wanted to try it and it was okay. But it should be better than okay.
I guess it remains to be seen what happens when they get sold off.

On a cold and stormy night, comfort food pasta was just the thing! I've been disappointed with the Perth restaurant lately, receiving mediocre service and small portions. Wow, the Adelaide one was a very pleasant surprise! Service was excellent and the design meant for a cozy meal.

Looking for somewhere to head for a bite to eat after a night football game at Adelaide Oval recently, we thought we'd check out dessert at Jamie's Italian. I'd always thought it was a prime spot for a bite to eat when AFL football moved to Adelaide Oval.

I came here specifically for their lemon meringue cheesecake ($14) that I kept seeing on Instagram and although it definitely wasn't the best cheesecake I have ever tasted, it did not disappoint. When it arrived at my table, I thought the mound of meringue was going to be too much, but it wasn't overly sweet and it wasn't a heavy, dense meringue so it was alright. I'm glad that the meringue was so lovely and light because it did well to balance out the entire cake as the cheesecake itself was really dense - a lot more dense than your typical cheesecake, but not in a bad way. Get a bit of everything on your fork; some cheesecake, some meringue, some lemon curd and some blackcurrants, and you'll have yourself a pretty bomb mouthful.
The front of house staff who seated me was not very friendly, but the other serving staff were lovely. The restaurant has impressive decor and has the perfect ambiance for a casual date night.
I'm not sure if I will return to try their savoury menu items as they don't seem to receive much positive feedback, but I am looking forward to try more desserts.
You would expect more considering the hype but alas, it was a delicious meal with brilliant service! Would have preferred larger portion sizes but it was a lovely atmosphere..
I've been to Jamie's twice now. The first time was incredible!!! I went with two other people and the quality of food was fantastic. The second time... was horrible. The pasta I had tasted like the chef had literally thrown in a cup of salt. I could only have 3 mouthfuls and I had to change my meal. In saying that, the meal I got after was great.
As many of the reviews on here mention, the renovation of the old bank is incredible. The decor and ambience is like no other.
Overall I think its a great place to eat and the service is flawless, but be prepared to pay more for a bowl of pasta than you usually would at any other eatery.
First time went there last year and found it amazing. Last week we were back to this lovely restaurant. Once again we could not fault it , food food especially the lasagne. Very friendly staff, and very reasonably priced. A perfect place !
Jamies Italian is a restaurant with an amazing casual atmosphere and a recommendation if you want to celebrate something. I've tried this restaurant at different occasions and have to say the service differed largely every time. When I came to celebrate my birthday I told this at the reservation. Additionally, I received a lot of gift so it was pretty obvious it was my birthday. Unfortunately, nothing was said about this or done for this. Which wouldn't have mattered, but, when leaving the restaurant, there were a lot of tables which had a dessert saying happy birthday! A bit more consistency is recommended. The food is flavoursome and worth its price.
I have been to Jamie's Italian 3 times now, and with each seasonal menu change comes new and exciting ingredients utilised to create some delicious dishes. The old bank building is beautifully renovated, and the ambience is exquisite. Staff are attentive and the menu offers a multitude of South Australian produce and wines. Honestly, I'm much more of a savoury person, but the desserts here were amazing! The Epic Brownie and Creamy Panna Cotta were heavenly and I was genuinely very impressed. I also found the prices to be quite affordable and the serving sizes were generously large. I will definitely be returning.

What a location and building! Packed evening, you could taste the pasta was freshly made. Dessert and wine were delicious. Did have to ask twice for the dessert to be served though, other than that reasonably good service.
From the Menu – Chargrilled beef burger with melted fontina cheese in a brioche bun with fried onion rings and grilled mortadella – $21. The fanfare that surrounded the opening of Jamie’s Italian in Adelaide was considerable. The redevelopment of the old bank building, located at 2 King William Street in the CBD, was in the news all over the place. The resulting enthusiasm of the Adelaide public meant that getting into Jamie’s, at any time that resembled a normal eating time for lunch or dinner, required a booking literally months in advance.

It's all open and very dynamic.
The staff are great- our server was particularly friendly.

Went there for dinner last night with my partner. I really enjoyed the fried olives however only received 4 olives! The grain salad was lovely i added feta and smoked salmon. Was tasty only complaint was that the feta was served as a big slab..would of preferred the feta mixed into salad. My partner got the king Salmon. Was tasty but a small serve of fish and needed some type of carb on the plate like potatoes as fish did not fill him up. Overall nice place will definitely go again to try some different dishes but keep in mind servings are on smaller side and it is pricey considering the serving sizes.
Dropped in for a quick family lunch and would have to say the service was fantastic. The kids meals were very health which is a change in most places its extremely deep fried but not here.
Wifey had the superfood salad which she said was great. I Had the rigatoni pasta which was okay, I was expecting this dish to be a stand out but it wasn't. Other than that al was goods.
I really enjoyed my experience here, the pasta was delicious (mussel and squid ink and the Prawn linguine). I shared a starter of Mac n Cheese balls which was a meal in itself. Finished off with the dark chocolate cheesecake, we were stuffed full of food.
My dissapointment was that they had "sold out" of the pasta with vongole (pippies) which is favourite of mine that my mother makes.
Considering you can pay $25 for a pub meal which is average, I would much rather come here for a plate of pasta.
The downfall for me was seeing the burger menu in the middle of the page that doesnt really go with the rest of the menu.
My second visit to Jamie's Italian was fantastic. Huge improvement on my visit a year ago. We visited on Australia day and did not have a booking. Told it was an hour and a half wait we decided to go for it, as we could watch the Australia day street parade while waiting for a table. The very friendly and helpful staff rang earlier when they had a table. My pasta al vongole was full of flavour and just delicious. Of the kids meals the sliders and salmon were said to be "yum" and eaten all up. The pasta with meatballs probably needed a little more sauce. The kids brownie was a good size and very popular. Our panna cotta was perfectly wobbly and creamy. Our wait staff were so lovely all night. Great family restaurant.

Jamie Oliver is one of my food idols. Bringing simple food, Italian food. So when Jamie's Italian opened in Adelaide, I was ecstatic. I've now been here a few times and the experience has been pleasant.
To explain those that have not experienced a Jamie's Italian experience think of the place as a nicer cafe but not quite a fine dining restaurant.
Don't expect the food to blow you away but the food is good and flavoursome. It is a little overpriced for some dishes. And that would be playing on the name. But my recommendation is the spaghetti bolognese. What!! Spag Bol you say?!! Yes spag bol. It different and delicious and one of the cheapest dishes there. The other memorable dish was the lemon meringue for dessert. Absolutely delicious.
So when you visit Jamie's, try and leave the expectations at the door and have a clean slate when trying their dishes.
My recommendation for them is to keep the dishes consistent quality wise. And have the dishes outstanding instead of just that bit over above average.
Seen so many bad reviews for this restaurant. Passed by on a Tuesday afternoon and it was pretty empty. So we took a plunge. Straight up, good interior design and very nice ambience.
We ordered the fried squid as entree and burger and scallops for main. Firstly, the fried squid. Oh my goodness it was delightful. Crunchy, very well seasoned batter with melt in the mouth squid, complimented with hint of chili, and tangy mayo. Superb.
The burger - first bite packed a punch. Juicy and smokey patty off the grill, complimented with pickles, halved cherry tomatoes. Succulent and tasty. The scallops are fresh juicy and I personally love the porscuito. Little too heavy on the mushed peas.
Serving is a little small for the price but I think overall we had a good dining experience. We will be back.
You know what they say about location, location, location - Jamie’s nailed it. Here’s a hot conversation piece for you - Kim and Kayne dined there and apparently one of them was very rude and difficult and it was not Kayne. Feel free to use that one to fill a conversation void/win over your date with some Kardashian knowledge. Don't blame me if it goes the other way for you though.
A lot of hype around this place due to the popularity of Jamie Oliver. The food was good but it's nothing to go crazy over. Have been here a few times due to work and I normally order the New York Strip or one of the pastas available. Food is cooked well and but I have had better steaks and pastas elsewhere. Give it a go if you are in the CBD but don't go out of your way.
Amazing food, amazing wine and service to match. Been to Jamies in the uk and on Quantum of the seas. So nice to have in our home town. Must check out the bathrooms.
Went there for our anniversary dinner once. Also have tried three of them in england and have never been dissapointed. There posh chips are to die for . We had the arranchini balls and 3 cheese gnocchi to start wich were amazing. Followed by me having the cannaloni three ways and my partner having a steak. He is very picky with his steaks and says its one of the best he has ever had. And the cannaloni was amazing. We had posh chips on the side. The interior was gorgeous and i like how the bathrooms pay respect to what the building used to be. Overall amazing food. Funky inside and never a miss.
I've recently been to Jamie's as it has been really tough to make reservations. I loved the ambience of the place but the food was rather standard. We had the meat platter, arachini balls, bruschettas, 4 different pastas, pork belly and lamb. They were all pretty good, but it wasn't spectacular. We also had the panna cotta, brownie, Swiss roll and pavlova.
The only negative was that servers were always too busy to attend to us quickly.
All in all, a good experience for a slow Sunday night

I had surprisingly never been inside Jaimie's until last week, which I think was drawn out due to some mixed reviews that I had read. However, I had a wonderful experience here & will be back!
The ambience and decor is just incredible. The amount of effort and quality fittings in what was a dormant Adelaide building is such a brilliant use of space. With the highlight probably being the bathrooms, which are set in the old bank vaults.
When we arrived it was lunch time and fairly quiet (monday), so we had the full attention of the waiters. We were seated at a table by the large bar area, which we found slightly uncomfortable as the chairs seemed slightly too high for the table. The people I was with felt the same way - so we asked to move to a booth, which they were more than accommodating for. Our waitress was extremely polite and explained the specials and was patient with our questions about serving sizes.
We all ordered entree sized pastas - I had the Tagliatelle Bolognese which was perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious. My table all had different pastas and all were extremely enjoyed. With a side of their famous polenta chips were tasty, flavourful and crunchy.
My only critique is that the food runners seemed slightly lax and a bit grumpy, but it didn't hugely impact the experience.
Will be back & I hope the good times will be repeated!
We took a main course lunch at Jamies's. The staff were rather inattentive and allowed a delay in our serving. The ale was good and we returned for more of this on another occasion. The food was better than that at Chianti. The music was a little too loud. Thought has gone in to the decor underground but not especial in the very spacious dining "hall"!!. We would return.

When we got to the restaurant it was packed and we didn't have a reservation. The staff at the door quickly checked and squeezed us in as there was another cancellation. Food came out on time and awed as all at how amazing it looked and tasted. There were a lot of photos around the table.

Our first visit here - Tuesday Lunch, with the restaurant about half full.
Felt very comfortable here - seems to be family friendly. All the wait staff were wearing blue jeans with their own choice of tops. Casual vibe to it, which was nice. The staff were friendly and service was fairly quick. We both chose the Prawn Linguine. We thought the serving was a little on the small side for $29 but the sauce was very tasty and presentation was good. Prefer our pasta to be cooked well but this was a bit too hard for us. Yes, we know about "al dente" but this was more raw than that. (Just our opinion - other people might like it like that).
Desert was a Trio of Ice cream, which was delish! If you do nothing else, check out the toilets in the basement. They have a special wheelchair lift that can be used by people who can't use the stairs (excellent addition - highly commendable) and the toilets have made use of the old vault area. (See the photo's). I've never been so impressed with a restaurants toilets before!! Certainly a talking point.
All in all, we enjoyed the visit and would be happy to return - we would just ask them to cook the pasta a bit longer ... 8/10.
Have heard a lot of mixed reviews but we really liked this place. I think the restaurant's style of cooking just agrees with us. Prices were just right. The carbonara was so, so good. I've heard there are issues with consistency so will have to be back a few more times to know for sure. The front of house manager also asked us our opinion of our waitress because she was still new (she was good).
Went for dinner last night (Friday) made the mistake of not booking, we had to wait a good 45 to 50 minutes before we got a table. The staff was really friendly and energetic given how busy the night was. Service was again surprisingly fast even though they were busy. We tried the polenta chips as well as the regular chips both were good. The regular chips were really garlicky with hint of wasabi if you trust my husband. We also got the mushroom risotto which was really great we went for the smaller portion thinking would be too much but it turned out to be too little. Guess go for the large portion sizes. Didn't get a chance to try desserts, hopefully next time.
Have been here a few times now & it's good. Love the decor- mass high ceilings, great lighting, cool vibe, and surprisingly the toilets- they look like a dungeon. The planks look cool & are pretty tasty. Most recently had a friends bday dinner with bout 10 of us and tried the steak for 2 which has been my fave dish so far, though there were a few mishaps with some of our meals and were treated to an awesome dessert platter which was deelish (especially brownies) and that was actually really nice of them. 😊
Was waiting to have a meal here.. Truly exceeded all expectations.. the presentation and the taste of the food- all was perfect, will surely come back.. Keep it up..

The redevelopment of the old bank building, located at 2 King William Street in the CBD, was in the news all over the place. The resulting enthusiasm of the Adelaide public meant that getting into Jamie’s, at any time that resembled a normal eating time for lunch or dinner, required a booking literally months in advance.
Loved this place!! Atmosphere wonderful, food beautiful and tasty, service great, and not overpriced as you would expect it. So pleasant , classy but not pretentious, top quality food. One of the best places to eat in the city. But make sure you book a table because it is busy .
Fun outing, was expecting little due to the high level of negativity about seating. But rung in two weeks before, was promptly seated on arrival with zero waiting time. Menu was very packed and hard to decide, the waiter gave many suggestions and was clearly well rehearsed as he introduced himself personally to all the tables he was serving that night.
One let down was of course the price, but then again, we felt like we were paying for the experience of a lauded menu. The execution with the pasta could have been perfected (one of the dishes was a little too under-cooked). Otherwise an enjoyable atmosphere, lighting was dimmed later into the night, this did not really help as it was difficult to look at and admire the interiors of the old bank.
The highlight was of course the vaults where you did your number ones and twos. Would return to dine for a special occasion just to check out the bathroom again.
One of my favourite restaurants to visit' The lamb and ricotta ravioli is a favourite and the crispy squid is to die for! The food is always served beautifully and the staff are very pleasant only disadvantage is the cocktails weren't very nice
Went for lunch on a Saturday and was really impressed and experience was better than expected. The service level was comforting and made our table of 5 feel relaxed. Highlights for me were the Squid which is the best ive ever had in Adelaide. The Chicken Al Mattone was tasty and Italian Burger was sensational and worth going back for just a lunch or snack. Would be a 5 if we had dessert and had the same standard, but there was not much to choose from so we had dessert somewhere else.
Dined here on a Tues night with a group of friends after an event. We had a booking but with an extra person had to wait for a table as with 7 we no longer would suit the booth originally booked for us. We waited about half an hour, but the service was fantastic and the food was delicious (best Italian in Adelaide we've had yet - and pasta cooked 'al dente'!) and well priced so certainly worth the wait. Our waitress was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is relaxed. Unlike other Italian restaurants in Adelaide, the noise doesn't travel, so you can have a conversation here and be able to hear what the people at your table are saying! We skipped entrees as it was late (9pm) and mainly had pasta dishes with some drinks. It was great to be able to dine at a decent venue so late at night in Adelaide!
I recently went to Adelaide (or Radelaide as I call it) and even though I had to work most of the time I was there, I did manage to sneak away one night to have dinner with a friend from Melbourne who's currently living in the South Australian capital. Both of us are Radelaide newbies and we didn't really know where we should go for dinner, so I jumped on the interwebs to see what's good. Jamie's Italian leapt out at me as I've seen a few vloggers dine there in other cities around the world.
This is worth booking a table for.
If you don't have a booking and walk in, it's still worth the wait.
We tried the raviolli in a delicious buttery sauce and the mushroom fettucine. So good!

While Jamie’s Italian could never be accused of exploring new territories, it does provide delicious, wholesome food, in an environment just as suitable for a business lunch as it is for a catch up with old friends and family. It’s comfortable, it’s friendly, and it makes you smile. What more could you ask for?
Went to Jamie's for my wife's birthday and it's was amazing! The staff made us feel like VIP's, the truffle and potatoe tortellini was delicate and tasty, polenta chips were crunchy and moreish. The cherry and almond dessert was to die for. My wife's dessert came out with a birthday candle and happy birthday written- a nice touch. Would definitely go again
Expect to walk away feeling hungry. The food is nice enough but it is very expensive and the sizes are very small. I have been there twice now and both times the service was poor and very slow. One time the waiter called me ‘man’ and when he didn’t know what the specials were he proceeded to fumble and make them up on the spot and turn it into some kind of circus comedy act instead of saving himself the embarrassment and going to retrieve his notes. Another time we waited at the bar for 1.5 hours waiting for a seat and we weren’t seated until we saw other people walking straight in and being seated and then queried the floor manager. The location is great and the restaurant is very trendy inside but the wait staff all seemed to be clueless. Next time I am craving Italian I can think of many other places I’d rather go!
Great Flavours but small serves!. I ordered the truffle oil pasta as a main which was delicious but seemed to be missing that little something, It could have had more herbs to break through the buttery taste and the portion size was very small.
Great atmosphere and would come back but order more food next time!
A group of friends and I went to jamies for dinner on Saturday night and oh my.... It did not disappoint, seated on time, our waitress was very prompt advised of specials for the night apon seating she also new the menu very well able to make recommendations on our starters, mains and desert.
We did not wait long at all to receive any of our courses very well timed.
Each course was amazing great flavor, good portioning.
Seated at 6:30 and leaving by 8:30 after desert.
Nothing over priced at all.
Over all a fantastic experience great food and great service.
Loved it! Easy booking online, lovely service (especially our server Daniela who was super efficient without being intrusive) and the food was sensational. Portions were just right for the type of venue it is and everything our table ordered was great. Interesting wine list and the room itself is so beautiful. We'll definitely be back!
Great Wedding Anniversary. We went to Jamies Italian for our wedding anniversary.
We had an early booking, so it wasn't really busy when we go there, but the staff were super friendly and attentive.
The food was delicious and I enjoyed the atmosphere and decor (especially the toilets!)

Poor service. Tried to make an online reservation with no success. All the vacancies disappeared by the time I submitted despite them being available when I started.
Tried calling and the lady couldn't hear me on more than one occasion and rudely cut the phone.
The restaurant refused to answer the phone since. Almost as if they weren't interested in making a booking.
Have decided to spent the money at a better place (this restaurant is only three star anyway) and won't be going there anymore.
Really good good and atmosphere. 3 of us went along and it was really great, the food, the staff, location and atmosphere were amazing. We started in the bar with tapas, moved to table for pasta and wine and it was all amazing!! Staff were friendly and fast service, and lots of options. You cannot take you own wine which is disappointing when you live in a wine region BUT if that's the worst thing then they are doing ok. All and all a great place to eat!!!!
Amidst the hustle and bustle of a Friday night, we were seated outside immediately. Our waitress for the evening, Chloe, was absolutely fantastic! My meal, the sausage pappardelle was beautiful. My friend ate the mushroom risotto which she found extremely salty. A great experience but patrons in the bar above (2KW) were throwing cigarettes and ice cubes onto our table from the rooftop. We raised the issue to the 2KW bouncer and it was dealt with immediately.
Great meal, great service. After reading a lot of the reviews on here I was a little apprehensive about visiting Jamie's but wanted to go along with an open mind - as I had heard good things from people I know. The service was attentive, the waitress was friendly and helpful.
We ordered the arancini and squid to share as starters and both were flavorsome and cooked well.
For mains we opted for the lamb tortellini which was cooked al dente exactly as it should be, and the baked salmon which was also cooked really well and with the lemon ricotta and salad that came with it was very satisfying. We decided we could squeeze in dessert and so had the ice cream and the orange frangipane tart, both of which were good.
The prices were reasonable for the quality as this is a restaurant and not a cheap and cheerful cafe.

Wonderful experience!. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about our lunch here. Out waitress Julia was an absolute delight, and the food was delicious. Favourite place in Adelaide.
2 x a treat. I have been here for lunch with my daughter and then 2 weeks later dinner with my husband. I've got to say whilst both times the food was amazing the lunch time experience was much better, as the restaurant was not as busy and therefore the service we got was way better. It is a loud and busy place regardless of when you go, but the menu is innovative and seem to use mostly local produce ( with the exception of the wine list ), the fit out is sensational and then staff were for the most part enthusiastic if not a little harried at dinner service. I would certainly go again but would pick the time slot wisely
I had a great meal at Jamie's not only because the food was enjoyable but for other reasons including:
A) I ordered well. I enjoyed the vegetarian plank with a friend for entree. Nice, fresh and tasty. Mushroom risotto for main; nice decent serve and good flavour. If you're hungry, ask what would be more filling etc.
B) expectation management. It seems that some people on here expect that this is going to be the most fabulous, awesome, mind-blowing meal they have ever eaten, and are disappointed when it's not the case. Yes, it's busy so your booking might be a bit behind. Your wait person might hae a couple other things to do. Deal with it, enjoy the bustling atmosphere.
I would return, am keen to try some other menu items.

The first time I had lunch here was with work colleagues on a Friday afternoon. We shared starters which were all tasty and we each had a main. All the mains were also much better than expected with strong flavours and seasoning. Needless to say we were all happy with the experience and the service. I returned again with friends for dinner one Saturday night and did the same- shared starters and a main each. Starters were good, very tasty. The mains however, looked unimpressive and tasted just as they looked- bland. No flavour, no seasoning, and this was the case for all the 4 mains ordered. It was as if there are 2 chefs who work on alternate evenings, one that has the presentation, flavour and seasoning down pat, and the other that doesn't taste any of the food being sent out.
Anyways we moved on to desserts which were all delicious. Service again was great, but the food begs consistency to earn regulars and rave reviews.
Seventh time dining at jamies Italian, blown away again by the exceptional service and friendly staff. Food is to die for, so delicious every time! Favourite place to dine in Adelaide..
Food was good although there was a very long wait between the entrée and the main. Atmosphere was fantastic. Decor beautiful. We'll return.

Great atmosphere and good food. We went here for a lunch on the Sunday after Christmas. [Father and three adult children and son in law] (Relatively easy to park in Myers ). Food was excellent Particularly Polenta chips and zucchini tempura. Oooh! I had mussels (obviously not South Australian since they were tiny) which were very beautiful. Interesting and good to see pasta being made on site. We all enjoyed tasting each others' dishes
Despite being warned that drinks were horrendously priced they were Ok. BUT there is absolutely no excuse in the middle of the three major Australian wine regions for not having an amazing cellar....if there was it was certainly not being promoted!
Staff were great...all young ( surely there is scope for some staff in their 30s and 40s!)...there was a shift change while we were there and the first shift hung around and had coffee and a drink....obviously they enjoy the atmosphere too.
We'd booked and there seemed plenty of space on a Sunday afternoon. No wait and great service (from both shifts). Will go again!

Built up expectations will only lead to disappointment. The less hype you hear about something, the more likely you are going to give it an objective and fair judgement. I refused to let myself expect too much from Jamie's and as a result I actually enjoyed it. A lot of people on here seem to have been let down and I think this is partly attributed to the fact that it comes from such an internationally influential chef. I could not personally fault the place, the food was tasty, the service was decent and the atmosphere was definitely one of the stand outs. I'll be back.
We didn't have a booking so had to wait for a table but were seated in the lounge/bar area & were able to order starters & drinks so this wasn't a problem. My Husband & I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, both food & service were exceptional!
Great service and a great atmosphere with a group of 6 the other night. I ordered the slow cooked pork which was lovely. All of the food was nice, not up there with the top meals we have all had but still a lovely experience. I would definately visit again with a group.

I'm not sure that if the name Jamie wasn't in the title the place would be as popular. But there you have it.. It's busy despite the ridiculous no booking minimum 45 minute wait nonsense. People line up and they wait.
The menu is ok - nothing is authentically Italian. It's noisy, there's lots of yelling from the pass.
Food comes quickly, looks appetising- nothing to complain about. But it's not special, i wish it were, but I t isn't.
By any other name you'd go once and never again.
Considering the "J O" brand and the size of the chain, my review hardly matters. Still, brand management is key, care and diligence paramount.

Its a chain but nice. Lets put it out there, this isn't a stand alone restaurant, its an Italian chain, just like Fasta Pasta. To be fair to the cockney geeza, its marketed as a chain, but I'm not sure the good people of Adelaide appreciate it as one of many. That said, people go to Fasta Pasta all the time for tasteless and fairly inexpensive Italian fare (around $15). I'm pleased to say the food at Jamies is definitely better than FP.....but then again I would hope so, so expect to pay more. My wife and I are currently discussing the pros n cons of Jamies Italian compared to other restaurants at the same price point. Is it good, average or bad. I like it, its a nice place, the waiting staff are young, friendly and what they lack with experience, make up for it in enthusiasm. All good so far!
The food, yep its tasty enough, the pasta if you order it will be al dente, if you're not used to it that way, prepare yourself and its made fresh in the restaurant. We had arancini balls ($11.50 for 3) and baked mushroom with buffalo mozzarella ($15) to start, I had wild boar lasagne ($28) nice but I finished it fairly quickly so gauge the size accordingly, wife had the half chicken with tomato / olive dressing and rocket salad ($28). She said it was alright, and the youngest had the tagliatelle with bolognaise little serve ($13) he liked it. We all had the brownie to finish, me and son had nutella ice cream with it, the wife had amaretto ice cream. Final bill $140 with a couple of drinks.
That done, food is nice enough. Is this a place for a quiet romantic evening? most definitely not, the restaurant is cavernous. So will we go again? yeah, eventually more than likely. Are there better 'Italian' restaurants out there, I would think so, no actually I hope so. If you are going for the atmosphere yeah its nice enough and its great that a former office type building has been re-used in this way. So good, average or bad. Its average but if you like fasta pasta it'll blow your socks off but treat it as a chain venue not as a michelin restaurant.
Good value, reliable food. Visited for my husband's birthday this week. Have been to Jamie's Italian in Cambridge, so in spite of the mixed reviews we felt confident that this would be good.
It was.
Lovely surroundings (you must visit the toilets), great baked mushrooms, fab handmade pasta, really good stuffed canneloni. The local Montepulciano (Mr Riggs) was a revelation. And service, whilst not polished was friendly, pleasant and no fuss. Would definitely return.
Give it a fair go. We enjoyed our meal at Jamie's. The food was tasty, service excellent, decor wonderful and the whole experience was not to be missed.
We had such an amazing late lunch here today. Tried lots of different shared plates. The mini capsicums and the meat plate were out of this world yummy! Cannot wait to come back and try something different next time. Service and atmosphere was on point.
I've been to this restaurant twice already and I loved it both times. First time on Father's Day with the whole family including kids, 7 and 5yo. Then for lunch today with our 5yo and my in-laws.
I was a bit hesitant from all the bad reviews I've read but thought that maybe the expectations are just too high from all the hype!
Today, we ordered the meat and fish plank, vongole pasta, rib eye steak, fish of the day and kids pasta. We skipped dessert as we were too full. We did have it before and knew that it was good and generously served.
The service was friendly and attentive. The food came out at the right time and with perfect flavours. We shared everything and enjoyed all of it. I especially loved the rib eye steak with truffle butter.
The place looks great and my kids are entertained with colouring stuff.
All in all a pleasant experience. I'll be coming back soon!
So the question everyone asks when you tell them you've been to the much hyped Jamie's - is it the BEST food you've ever eaten? The answer of course is no, but for cafe pricing id challenge anyone who knows of another "cafe" with this quality of produce & food in a restuarant that looks and feels this good.
I think the hype has been the friend and for of this resturant, so I say to all intended diners, don't come here comparing to Chianti or Assagio, cos it will only disappoint, but the extra $150 you are left with in your pocket may not.
Squid is a must try (reminds me very much of Star of Greece), as is the Scallop Pasta.
I'll be back.
No rush this time and no queue. Lovely salad and great service. Always love the venu and the menu is diverse and interesting. My partner had the burger which was average. But how to make a burger interesting?
I have been to Jamie's twice now and I have not been disappointed. The food, the service, the building, the atmosphere is a cut above the rest. I cannot fault the food. It is genuine, fresh produce presented beautifully. Give it a go!!!
As you walk in the setting amazes you. You are welcomed by professional and friendly staff, led to your table and presented with wonderful food options. The food is simply amazing, genuine, authentic, with a personal touch. A great place with amazing authentic Italian food!

After reading these reviews I had to say something.. Yes I have been to this restaurant the food was nice not outstanding but nice. Not expensive. Service was ok. Building absolutely beautiful, loved the idea of the kids menu thought it was cool. I have been to a lot of restaurants across Australia, every top restaurant in Melbourne it's a passion of mine so come on adelaide let's mix it up a bit. I was happy to see a different wine list, come on adelaide try something different for once. If you don't know the wine just ask. I am sick of seeing the same wines on lists across Adelaide. Have a look at the wine lists in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane. Try a different style, a variety that complements the food it's flavours and doesn't over power it. It's an Italian restaurant I want to see Italian ingredients. Open up your pantry...what you think everything's made in Adelaide.. You think the Chinese, Thai, Indian restaurant's ingredient's all come out if Adelaide...serious..(previous review) It's not meant to be fine dining its a restaurant to take the famy somewhere nice without the price or the golden archers or a cafe primo.. Well done Jamie on bringing a old building that sat empty for years and years and giving life into that corner of sleepy Adelaide. Come on Adeladians let Jamie have a go and expand your vision for this state and stop complaining or no-one will come here and bring life into this state because yes we do live in one of the best states in Australia.

A pleasant experience. I went to Jamie's for lunch on a Thursday in a group of three. The stated wait was 45 minutes but we were seated within 20 minutes. While waiting to be seated we sat at the tables near the bar. I approached the bar to order a drink and was told that they offered table service. The table service, unfortunately, took about 15 minutes to attend to us. Not a great first impression.
Once seated our drinks arrived. We shared the polenta chips which were seasoned with rosemary and parmesan cheese. They were crispy and delicious.
We shared the meat plate for three for entree. There were 4 types of meat on offer along with 2 types of cheese and a small bowl of chopped salad. The meat was lovely; we appreciated that there were three pieces of everything, rather than having to awkwardly portion everything out between us.
For mains our table ordered a flounder special, lamb and ricotta tortellini and prawn pappardelle. Each of the dishes were flavoursome and well-cooked. The prawn pasta had a fantastic hit of chilli.
As others have stated, the service at Jamie's wasn't great. Our waitress was a little awkward and seemed nervous. The guy working the bar was a little rude, too.
Overall we were happy with the food, experience and the price was reasonable. I'd happily go again.

As is probably the case with most celebrity chef restaurants, love is blindness. There were some faults with the food as highlighted below in other reviews. Polenta chips/olives/capsicums were amazing. Mains were disappointing- porchetta was little cool and dry, the special risotto was a little tasteless but the lemon meringue and the panacotta were again amazing. Waitress was very over attentive and bordering on fake but we played along with her obsessive talking. Overall I'd go back to it for the experience but I'd fix the mains!
Love it.. Being a fan of fresh uncomplicated food, I loved everything about our experience this evening at Jamie's Italian. Our waitress was outstanding, the food delicious with perfectly teemed simple flavours. Affordable. I get it. I loved it. Congratulations!
Crispy crackling. Have been here twice since it opened. The staff vary from being overly attentive to "couldn't care less". The menu is basic and simple with the food tasting like any standard Italian restaurant in Adelaide. The best dish I've tried so far has to be the porchetta, with well balanced flavours and a great crackling. But on my second visit, I found the crackling to be quite soft and chewy-definitely not as crispy as the first visit suggesting poor quality control coming from the kitchen! Regardless, I wouldn't mind revisiting this place again especially as the setting makes it a good place for a catch-up with friends or family.

3 hours - 3 courses. Made a booking online when bookings had first opened at Jamie's for a 1pm seating. Arrived for our alloted booking, only to be told we had 2 hours to eat and move on as there were lots of big bookings. Sunday lunches aren't made for quick meals and moving on, they are for enjoying the food, wine, ambience and great company.
The food might I just say was exceptional although the temperature was a little off with entrees, kids enjoyed their meals and the theatre around it but servings were a little small to satisfy a 10 year olds appetite.
Strip loin on the bone, whole snapper, lamb cutlets and prawn linguini were thoroughly enjoyed but unfortunately by then we had hit our 2 hour cut off and were kindly asked to hurry up with kids still waiting for dessert.
Fully understand them wanting to turn tables quickly but they need to align this to the capability of the kitechen and wait staff.
Beverages were very dissappointing, only 1 relatively over priced SA red wine on the specials listing and only 2 beers, both tap, available. Considering our state boasts some of the very best wines and craft beers in the country we believe Jamies 'local produce' ideals have completely missed the mark.
Will most definitely return but not until many teething issues are ironed out, Adelaidiens are as spoilt for choice as out East Coast friends but like their local fare.

We finally made it to the most hyped restaurant in Adelaide’s history. Jamie’s Italian would need no introduction with most of our foodie followers; anyone and everyone would have heard about the opening of the renowned chef’s restaurant in our little town. The setting and atmosphere certainly lives up to the build up. Being an old bank building, the sheer size and openness of the restaurant is awe inspiring and fitting of a chef of Jamie Oliver’s reputation. A colourful antipasto station takes centre stage of the main dining area, but the Kitchen and bar are also in plain view for diners’ pleasure and inquisitiveness. The pasta making station complete with a chef hand-rolling pasta is even on full display for all to admire. Different types of seating areas are cleverly separated and a general happiness washes over the dining area inspired by great food, great company, relaxed waiters and enjoyable music. First of all what they’ve done with the space is awesome, it used to be an old Westpac bank and it looks like the vaults at Gringotts in Harry Potter, everything is copper plated and magnificent. Beautiful art deco surrounds and a deli bar in the middle make it one of the nicest looking restaurants I’ve been to.
The bookings are in 15 minutes interval and they book out quite fast. People coming in non-stop As soon as we walked into the restaurant, it was packed with people. We waited in line for the hostess to show us where we were sitting, our given table was actually directly in front of the front glass door. It was quite windy with all the people going in and out. Luckily they were very nice and swapped us to a table that was inside of the restaurant. I must say the wait staffs were very friendly (a bit over friendly and enthusiastic) through out the whole night. However sometimes can be a bit inattentive due to large amount of people. The menu is moderate in size but has plenty of variety. With a selection of antipasti, pasta, risotto, mains and desserts, the menu has enough depth to cater for just about everyone.

Jamie's... Jamie's I hear you. It has been the talk of town for a while, and finally it has opened right on the corner of King William Street and North Terrace. I have been to Jamie's in Melbourne andBookings are taken every 15 minutes and you can achieve this online, however theout rather quickly. No, I didn't line up for three hours. A group of ladies organised a lunch on a weekend and were able to make a booking. Tlived up to it's hype. What was used to be a bank is now a restaurant. stepped into the restaurant, there was a warm feeling. This restaurant had nicely. The decor was quite simple. With the super high ceilings, there was nothing that needed to be done.
Delicious pasta, starters and food in general. Unfortunately you don’t get a lot per serve and quite pricey but to be expected given the reputation and location, also there’s no parking aside from street ticket or u-parks. Service was good and servers seemed very aware of the menu ingredients and wine list pairings. If the meals and drinks weren’t so expensive for what they brought out, it would’ve been a 5 star review!
Love their smoked salmon bruschetta☺️the taste of smoked salmon was perfect. That was no too salty or too plain and the little bit of lemon juice made me feel refresh when the each time I tasted it.
Both of the textures of truffle pasta and lamp ravioli were quite good and I really enjoyed it.
However, I felt the flavour of truffle pasta was not enough and could be a little bit stronger and the taste of the ravioli was a little bit too strong and salty.
If you are gonna order a steak, I recommend rare or medium rare state. We ordered a medium steak but it was already cooked very well. That still tasted good but I don’t really recommend ordering the steak here. The price was expensive but the texture and flavour were normal compared to other restaurant.

I had primavera Ravioli and really liked it. My mother had a gnocchi and put it up there with some of the best gnocchi she’s had. And even my daughter who had the chicken lollipops (actually just chicken kebabs) really loved her meal.
However we were a bit surprised by the garlic bread. I expected a more rustic kind of bread however out garlic bread was 4 brioche buns with a smidge of garlic butter inside. Sprinkled with nice Parmesan and I roasted slivers of garlic - these were the best bits. Felt really disappointed with this part of our meal.
One of the kids meals was also a bit more literal than we’d expected with it being served in an actual lunch box.
We also wished that the person seating us had told us more about how the service worked. At one stage we were left trying to flag down a waiter so that we could get our first drink - yet our food orders had been taken very quickly. We also struggled to flag someone down to find out how we paid, in the end just getting up and walking to the front desk.
I enjoyed our visit, but just felt like a few small things were a bit “Off”
Been multiple times. Extremely happy with every meal I have been served. Staff always happy and accommodating. Very good portioned meals at a decent rate. Will continue to return. Family friendly meal options.
