Review Pane E Latte - Adelaide

Nathalie Khoury
The cafe itself was standard but nice for a local place to eat. The staff were friendly and promoted us quickly to our table. I was pretty let down from eating the Polpetta as I personally feel as though the flavours weren't giving me the wow taste and overall was a little tasteless. However, the Italian French toast was a delight and enjoyed it a lot ! (especially I generally don't like almond flakes). Thank you for having us :)

Nice little hidden gem on Regency road, luckily we had booked because on arrival all tables and seats were taken! Lots of people coming in for take away coffees but despite this we were still served in a timely manner and waitering staff were very helpful accommodating the guests. Breakfast carbonara was really good!

What a great little place in the NE of Adelaide! Stumbled across it on google maps and brought the folks here this morning - we loved it! Great service, taste food, vibrant space and of course, I can’t forget the coffee - so good! Will be back - it’s my new local

A hidden gem, amazing modern Italian food, friendly staff and bustling atmosphere. Some of the best coffee I've ever had.

Good tasting and healthy Italian styled brunch and meals. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options with itemised menus that are also meat friendly. Portions are just right and, the pricing is well priced for the taste, creativity, service and appearance of the meals. The venue is incredibly clean and well lighted.

Love the tiramisu pancake. Service is good. The price was so good too. Inexpensive meal. We used entertainment book discount, only paid $42 for 3 dishes and 2 drinks.

A small, lovely and cosy Italian café with excellent coffee, delicious breakfast menu and friendly service. A hidden gem in this part of Adelaide. Highly recommend.

Finally made it here for a late lunch, nice little cafe. The seating is old and a bit uncomfortable, definitely couldn't sit for longer than I did. Also visiting on a 37° day was a mistake as this place doesn't seem to have working air conditioning and the door is left open for air flow letting all of the flies in. We got our coffees pretty much 5 minutes after ordering, but the food took another half an hour, so our coffees were gone by the time food got there. The pasta was nice but had a very chewy texture and some bits were hard as if baked dry or not cooked properly.

Breakfast here whilst working in Adelaide for a week. Very good coffee, ordered the crab scramble, very nice, well presented tasty, hot and fresh. Good menu variety, clean, neat, well worth a visit.

Fantastic food, really love your pasta dishes. Customer service is prompt and friendly. Only suggestion would be to buy some fly spray as there were a few flys hanging around

What an amazing funky place. Firstly thanks so much for fitting in 4 for breakfast on Saturday. The coffee is outstanding. The crab meat scrambled eggs were just fantastic. Presentation was first class generous serve with a salad and roasted tomatoes. The staff are the next level friendly, professional and attentive. I will definitely be back. Thanks so much.

Pane e Latte was super busy for a Sunday brunch, luckily I had booked a table online and recommend you do the same if going on a weekend. The staff were all really friendly and the menu is great with lots of items getting my attention. My friend ordered the chili crab scrambled eggs and I got the tiramisu pancakes. It took about 40 minutes for our meals to come out which didn’t bother us as they were very busy and the kitchen only had 3 people in it working very hard. As soon as my plate was put down in front of me I was immediately shocked at the size of my meal, even my friend commenting at how small it was. I wouldnt call this dish pancakes more like three tiny pikelets. I basically waited 40 minutes for something that took me less than 5 to eat. The pancakes were a bit dry but over all the dish was tasty, good amount of tiramisu sauce that wasn’t sickly. They definitely need to increase the size of this dish or change the price, $17 was way too much for this tiny meal. My friends meal was a bigger than mine but he too left hungry as the eggs came stacked on top of one piece of bread which could have been two. I went home and ate breakfast again so probably won’t be back to pane e latte.

Unbelievable every time so far! The Italian spin on breakfast is awesome. It gives the menu a unique identity and the meals and coffee are quality. Great service, chilled out vibe, and loving the retro furniture from Nonna’s place.

We were greeted by friendly staff members whom sat us down at the table. As you know I do love my coffee, and for me my cappuccino was spot on. I took a look at the menu, it was definitely Italian cuisine but with a twist. Yes I couldn’t wait. I think I could have ordered everything on the menu. The best thing about this place is they do all day breakfast! YAY!!

Congratulations to Matteo and the Team. We really enjoyed our experience and will be back again to try more of the menu. Good people, great food & excellent coffee!! Keep up the good work!!! The photograph attached to our review is proof of what was left of my Italian French Toast!! Amazing!!!

5 stars for service - really lovely. I still really want to give Pane e Latte another go as the menu sounds beautiful and perhaps I just picked the wrong thing. My partner had the “Benedetto” - delicious, just a small serving according to my partner) and I had the “Italian (French) toast” - thumbs up for having a sweet gluten free breakfast option, however I didn’t overly enjoy the choice. The bread itself was quite dry and the dish wasn’t overly well balanced. This place was busy, and everyone’s meals looked amazing. I’ll definitely be back to try the savoury dishes :)

The initial greeting and being seated was good, however we were left waiting for any further service.
We waited and watched 4 new customers be greeted, seated, given menus and tap water. Sadly despite only having 8 groups of people, we were not able to even sample the tap water or see what was on the menu, due to the lack of attention of their clients. It made me consider not returning to this place.
We may give it another go, as the food coming out looked amazing.
Perhaps it’s a system let down as the staff seemed friendly enough to those that they did greet and seated properly.
The irony was, on our up and let’s go departure, the main waiter ever said’ “Thanks Guys”. Perhaps for freeing up the table which earned them zero dollars today. C’mon guys let’s get it together, as you are sitting on a good business there but on this occasion really let yourselves down.

Only had coffee for takeaway. Ordered a soy latte and soy flat white, both tasted like warm soy milk, no offence but very disappointed. Perhaps a change of coffee beans is needed? 🙂

Ever since we drove passed this place my husband has been asking me to go and check this place out with him. Considering it is a nice sunny day weekend the place was fairly quiet. It was around 10am when we got there and we were welcomed warmly not by one particular wait staff but just pretty much everyone else which is great. The place was cosy and neat. We started off with a flat white. Coffee was OK. I ordered the French Toast while the hubs had the Scamorza e funghi. For the french toast, they used a different type of bread not the typical white bread I am accustomed to and only the other half was soaked on the batter mixed not the whole piece. This was something that is unusual experience for me. Overall, I find it average. It wasn't bad but I am just not familiar with it. As for the scamorza, it was very tasty. The cherry tomatoes were stone cold though. Which was later explained to us that it is confit tomatoes meaning it was cooked for 2hrs on a certain temperature and it was meant to be served cold. Following the feedback that my husband gave, the man on the till explained the whole process to us and in addition to that, told us that the coffee is on them. That was very nice of them hence that deserved a solid 1 star for me. I do appreciate the time that they gave us explaining the reason behind the temperature of the tomatoes.

Has everything you want from a nice neighbourhood café. Friendly service, good food, and very reasonable price. Can't wait to try more dishes on the menu!

I have been a couple of times for dinner on a friday night. It's all about the vibes! Great music and good local/community vibes! The menu is small however a great selection to choose from & pasta is delicious as well as desert. We will be going regularly on friday nights and excited for the new menu launch soon!

Lovely local cafe, with great service. Food was delicious, but on the high side ($18) for a vegetarian dish. The serving of cheese was very generous.

This place proves that you can open an eatery in the middle of nowhere, and people will come, if the food is good. Pene e Late's food is good. It's really good. We enjoyed a variety of dishes from the breakfast menu (see photos) and all the plates were swiftly emptied. Simple set up, friendly service, great good. What more can one want. Can't wait to try their dinner!

The North Eastern suburbs just got its own piece of Southern Italy with the opening of Pane e Latte. Pane meaning bread and latte meaning milk two ingredients you will certainly find at this place! Owner Matteo Giordano has always dreamed of opening a Rosticceria. As a young man it was his casual local food hang for him and his friends in his home town of Gioia del Colle in Southern Italy. They would eat and talk about how great it would be to own their own one day and for Matteo this dream now has turned into a reality!

If you're looking for an authentic and friendly Italian cafe experience in the burbs, then look no further than Pane e Latte.

Make sure you're hungry when you go because you're likely to want to order every item off the menu because it all looks and sounds delicious (strongly suggest following their Insta account because they post mouth watering photos.)

The foccacias are fresh and crunchy! Give the Pappa al Pomodoro a whirl with the "charcoal cracker", it's well worth it or go tradish with the Full Italian in all its pancetta-y glory. And don't forget to grab one of the sweet dishes - the mandorlata with the house made almond spread or the Italian toast with the lemon custardy deliciousness are both particular faves.

This cafe is the perfect local or well worth the trip if you're not in the hood.

Will definitely be back!

Great to see a trendy new coffee shop pop up in the north east. Although I didn't eat here, upon stepping inside I thought the food smelt wonderfully authentic, and the photographs uploaded by others to social media makes me want to go back to experience more. The coffee and service was good but something needs to be done about the wooden bench seats, I ended up getting splinters in my bum!

Living slightly north of the Adelaide CBD has some downfalls, mainly, it can be hard to find a good, modern breakfast. We're usually going to somewhere like The Coffee Barun, The Local Grind or driving more east to Pave. Recently, we were pretty excited to see Pane e Latte open up on Regency Road, in the same space Al Pacino's was (one of our go to's for takeaway pizza). We headed in for a breakfast one Saturday morning and we were glad we did.
