Nice quaint cafe located on Gilles Street. Wasn’t too busy when we visited and nabbed an outside table as the weather was pleasant. There is plenty of inside seating too if the weather isn’t favourable. Easier just to order and pay at the counter but they can come to take your order if you prefer. Service is lovely.
Had a Mocha and Skim Latte and the blend they use is quite smooth and easy to drink. The knitted holders around the cup is quite a nice touch and cute.
We had breakfast at Fawn Cafe this morning and really enjoyed the avocado, smashed peas and mint on toast. A lovely cafe that was simple and friendly! We would return when next in Adelaide.
Friendly service with a cosy atmosphere and fun music. Lovely food and drinks - do recommend the avocado, pea, mint and feta bruschetta. Also if you’re a green thumb, this place is decked out with healthy indoor foliage! :)
Brilliant little cafe with great coffee and tasty breakfast/lunch options! The current SALA artwork is a nice addition. Friendly staff always happy to have a chat :)
Very happy to have discovered this little cafe in Gilles Street. It was refreshing in so many ways. First of all service. The staff here really understand about the importance of service and from the moment I stepped in, I was so impressed. First of all, a friendly greeting and then to be asked if I had been before was brilliant. The girl who served me offered suggestions and even offered to make me an iced latte instead of iced coffee because she said the meal was quite filling. She was absolutely spot on.
Then the food: the haloumi on toasted rye bread was a very generous serve and iced coffee would not have been a great idea. The iced latte was perfect with it. The haloumi was served with fresh cherry tomatoes and rocket, and seeds, and drizzled with a delicious chili oil dressing. Absolutely delicious. I was intending to try something from the dessert cabinet but decided against it only because I really was full - gives me an excuse to go back again soon.
The other refreshing change was the decor - instead of the retro look that is still favoured by many new cafes in Adelaide, this cafe has a fresh inviting look. Light walls, lots of beautiful plants - very clean, trendy and welcoming. Fawn has a really good vibe and being in an old corner shop means that plenty of light gets in. The attention to detail in the presentation of the cafe was evident everywhere right down to the spotlessly clean leaves on the plants.
Summary: this little cafe is ahead of so many others with a great vibe; beautiful service, delicious artisan food and good coffee. Easy parking on Gilles Street adds to the relaxing experience that this wonderful place offers. Worth a try? Absolutely - everything about Fawn is 5/5. Open Monday - Saturday.

I fear the day when Adelaidians wake up and realise there are officially more cafes than residents and a law is passed that everyone must brunch alone in order to ensure each café gets at least one patron. Until this bizarre reality exists however, my friends are I are going to continue to explore a new brunch spot most weekends and report back to you lovely people.
