Attended on a Saturday night at 5.30pm. Cocktails were great, however we thought we'd get several items off the menu as a share meal. The menu looked great and ample choice for what we were after. Ordered with the waiter who went away, came back and stated the only item available on the entire menu on a Saturday night at dinner time was the cheese board. Very disappointing. The bread was stale, and it came with meats that tasted of very low quality. No where near enough and very average. Toilets weren't stocked with anything. Go for the drinks, don't bother for the food.

As many have said in their reviews the atmosphere here is really cool and relaxed. The cocktail list could be a bit longer and specialised but what they do make is well priced and is tasty. The snacks menu could be spruced up a bit, it is a bit limited. They are working on the wine list but what they have so far represents SA pretty well. The staff are great, very polite and friendly. A few things to work on but they have a great base to spring from!

Unfortunately I can't give a 5 star as the toilet had no toilet paper or soap, even after staff were notified several hours earlier.

I was really disappointed with our visit on Saturday night. It had been a few years since I had been to the trunk and was a frequent patron previously. I had highly recommended it to my friends for post dinner drinks. It seems to be under new management or had a change of owner?
We were not greeted on arrival and had to find a staff member to ask if we could sit on a dirty table. After seating ourselves we then had to go find menus. There was no table service like previous visits, the service was non existent.
The amazing vibe has sadly been lost with the refurb. The menu is now very small, only a handful of cocktails on offer. We also waited 37 minutes for our drinks, yes we timed it as it started to become a joke!
I had the espresso Martini. It wasn't the best but wasn't the worst I've ever tried. I hated that the cocktail was garnished with ground coffee covering the entire drink. Very unpleasant to drink.
Sadly won't be visiting again, such a shame.

This place deserves to be known as the best cocktails bar in Adelaide. Once you try the first cocktail you have the immediate desire and the curiosity to taste more and more and they are all Delicious.
The ambience has an unique and romantic vibe, which is in the same time surprisingly very comfortable
Totally recommend this place for girls night out, or after dinner drinks or just a simple date

Just came in, no toilet paper or hand towel, ordered 2 cocktails, got told to sit down, then a waiter came and asked for our order, waited 30 min , nothing happened so we. Left.

Loved it here, the staff were just so lovely and the drinks came out quick and were served up in lovely glasses! Definitely worth the visit!

Every time we go to the flying trunk we are met with great service and amazing drinks! Very knowledgable bar staff who have a Great cocktail list, not to mention their wine and spirit choices! They also have delicious tapas :) great for a drink and a nibble before dinner or to stay for dinner. We will be back again soon!

Awesome place for high tea. Staff were accommodating and courteous. Great atmosphere with character and cute tea sets. Fantastic yummy cocktails as well. Will definitely go again.

My boyfriend and I live down the road next to the Hyde Park Tavern and ventured to The Flying Trunk for some local eats (the ones closer by were all booked out). Well worth the extra steps! Extensive cocktail menu, excellent hip hop playlist, helpful and laid-back staff creating just the right atmosphere. Come here if: all the other restaurants on KWR are too busy, you're not heaps hangry and/or you wanna experiment with your booze choices.

We went here for some cocktails before dinner and it's such a great little place. They do cocktails and finger food and well as "small dinners". We had a plate of nibbles, which you can choose from a small list, and they were a simple, but tasty variation on bar snacks crossed with antipasto. The atmosphere is relaxed and there are comfy couches as well as tables and bar stools. The staff are really helpful and that's good because they have a good range of spirits to choose from, some of which were new to me. Good for drinks before or after dinner or for a quick dinner before a night out. I will definitely be back.

Go to Nook Nosh, Cantina Sociale or one of the bars in town who will pour a third more wine into a glass of the same size. I don't have a problem with small pours provided the wine list specifies I'm paying for a 90ml or 100ml pour. The bottle list is far more limited, so it's hard to overcome this problem if you like a lighter style red. Shame because KWR really needed a wine bar and the tapas is pretty good.
