Review L'italy - Adelaide

I don't easily give out 5 stars for Italian restaurants but L'italy deserves it! Eating here was truly like being back in Italy. You're encouraged to relax, have a laugh and most importantly.. eat! These photos were from the banquet which was incredible value for money. I had a great conversation with the chef's who are super friendly and are all Italian. Grazie Luca for having us.

L'italy is probably one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to in a long time. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, great ambience and delicious food. I tried the Pasta Special Beef Ravioli in Brandy Butter Thyme Sauce yesterday and it was perfect. This was my favorite dish! The beef was tender and packed with flavour. Would definitely go back to try more food! Beautiful little Italy in the heart of the city! 😍❤

“the cibo Italiano” which blew me away…. Absolutely exquisite experience, handcrafted authentic Italian taste and flavours…. People are extremely friendly and place got the Vibe… When it comes to food I am totally speechless because all the dishes were just so great and ohhh so cheesy…. Tiramisu was fluffy, mellow and sooooo dark…

I had a discount voucher and this always helps me gauge what service I was about to receive prior to deciding if I will ever visit again, some places get so sour (I never understand why they do promotions when they don’t want to honour it)……Fortunately, customers service here is 100%, greeted with a smile and always made sure you’re good with the food. The seafood pasta….. let’s say I was flying in a cloud eating the plate. It was soooo good. Proper seafood (not that frozen marinara mix), the red sauce is fully flavoured with the umami flavours of seafood. Ask for the chilli oil. They also provide complimentary sour dough with EVOO & the oil is drinkable! 100% a returning customer.

Wonderful food, great atmosphere, felt like I was back in Italy! Especially with the great boppy music in the background! The staff were friendly and courteous, very helpful in assisting us with our Banquet. I cannot fault the food, it was presented well, very tasty and enjoyable. Very generous servings for the Banquet for two people. Great range of cocktails, reasonably priced. The Waiter was fantastic and for a top of after our meal he gave us the Lemon Sorbet mixed with the Anisette after our meal, on the house, just those extra little things that make a great restaurant. We will be back! I highly recommend this Italian Restaurant.

We had a pleasant evening at l’italy with an incredible ceviche and salumi board for starters. We enjoyed the mains and the ambience of the place is great. We struggled to get served right out the back of the shop but only a minor detail

Do yourself a favor and visit this iconic restaurant! The service is unmatched, the staff truly cares about your experience and make great recommendations. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we ate melted in our mouths and transported us back to Italy. Absolutely the best meal you will have in Adelaide! Highly recommend!

This is literally the worst dining experience I've ever had. Totally rotten. I usually do not leave any comment. But this time, If I could give 0 star, I would. However, since I can't, so I shan't. We waited nearly an hour for the main dish. The starter came around 6:18pm, then we only got the main courses until 7:12pm. When we complained about the waiting time, there was only simply something like "sorry about the inconvenience, short-staffed". But the attitude is apparently not good enough and prompt. Normally, the manager could've waived drinks, or offered reasonable discounts. This one only charges your money right away but shows little sympathy to the customers. Even the lady from the next table was surprised that they offered nothing but only took the money. I personally will never ever visit it again, and I personally don't suggest it as well.

Went with a large group (13 adults) and had the share menu at $68 per head. I had high expectations however, the amount of food served for this amount of people was very inadequate given the price paid per person. We were given an Antipasto board which was great. What followed was a joke...4 entree sized plates of pasta, 2 small steaks cut up into strips, 2 very small bowls of potatoes and a small bowl of pig ear strips. Dessert was nice. No coffee given even though they said it would be included when asked on the night. Our bill totalled close to $1400.00 and we were all still hungry after. This is not a once off. We have since heard from others who have experienced share menu and have found the quantity given is not a reasonable amount. I cannot recommend this place and it’s such a shame as the very small amount I ate was nice. You should take this as a constructive review and look into what you are doing wrong because you are losing customers and unfortunately we are not recommending you.

The team from Ruby Red Flamingo and Tony Tomatoes have added another great dining spot to O'Connell Street. As expected on a Saturday night it was really busy which gave it great atmosphere. We could easily have eaten everything on the menu but restrained ourselves. The charcuterie board was a great way to start and it was generous. Definitely try the crispy pigs ears - they are strips of crunchy goodness. The gorgonzola croquettes were also excellent. Our request to have the gnocchi with the ragu, whilst considered unusual by the kitchen, was accommodated. The pork belly was delicious and the green beans with njuda and pecorino were a great side. There were a few service issues which have passed on to the owner but I would definitely recommend L'Italy - it's not just another Italian restaurant.

Attentive, friendly service - especially Ricardo, he was fantastic while juggling a constantly revolving door of patrons coming and going. The food was quality, from the antipasti, the pasta, the vegetables - the drink options were also great and they have some awesome drink specials. Would definitely come back! Grazie

These days, it’s not often I get inspired to write a blog post. Life just seems to get in the way. And then comes L’italy and I feel compelled to spread the word. L’italy is brought to us by Walter Ventura and the team responsible for Ruby Red Flamingo and Tony Tomatoes and it’s in the same location as their pop-ups Spaghetti Crab (yum!) and Spaghetti Meatballs.
