Review Tammy's Meat Rolls - Adelaide

TMR Bistro is one of my favourite Vietnamese lunchtime go-to places. Always busy, but the service is consistently quick, especially if you order a banh mi or a bun bowl. Special shout-out to one of the ladies at the hot-bar (the one who usually takes your order) who always welcomes each customer like family. Menu quite reasonably priced. Pictured below is the: pho with dumplings. Fresh, and beautiful balance of flavour in the soup | Noodle bowls with meat spring rolls. Also fresh, plentiful, and loved the crunch of the spring rolls!

Fantastic service! TMR has amazing food; especially the Banh MI’s and Rice Bowls! And they are very reasonably priced! They recently catered for me for an event for 150 people and were exceptional in their service and especially in meeting our dietary requirement needs.

So I had lunch there alone after I finish my 8hrs work. I ordered spring roll set and a combo noodle soup, my friend ordered one spring roll and a soup. They give me a tiny container with half full sweet chill source. When I asked staff for more they refused and said you have to pay extra for that one. I understand the extra money,But my friend only ordered one spring roll and I ordered tree how come on the earth would you do this to us? It’s apparently not going to be enough! The staff have a terrible attitude and really bossy I have been there a lot of times but I am NEVER back again !

Fresh ingredients used and delicious food. It is a small place but the service moves pretty quickly during the peak hours. The crispy pork was to die for and the vegetables in the bun bowl were really fresh. Will be back!

Very tasty combination grilled meat banh mi, love it 👍

Couldn't believe the value. $11 for this chicken salad bowl. Bigger serves than elsewhere where you'd be charged around $14-17.

$7.00 Roast Pork Meat Roll goes BANG! They were super busy but made mine in about 3 seconds flat. Yum.

It's been a while since I visited Tammy's Meat Rolls and I was looking forward to their wet dim sims in tomato sauce (a dim sim without the skin in this really intense tomato sauce - yum!) as I only know one other place in Adelaide that does these. Unfortunately they were no longer available!! So I consoled myself with a bowl of pho which has delicious broth, tender meat and good noodles. The laksa was also really good. As was the ca phe sua da.

The beef pho was generous and delicious, lots of subtle flavors. We got there near closing time so hardly any people were around, we had the place to ourselves.

What a gem on Hindley St. I never knew you could get 6 dollar bahn mi's in the city centre. Gets very busy during lunchtime but the wait is never long ...

Sooo, there's this place located 3 mins away from my campus. I was surprised ! This really small yet comfy Vietnamese eatery located near the west end of hindley street has done nothing but impressed us. All foods are affordable, delicious and fresh!

Food
We've orders the crispy skin roastpork bun bowl and grilled chicken bun bowl. Roast Pork Bahn-Mi and Beef Pho.

9.5/10. I've never been so happy before! Their generous servings were one of the things that I enjoyed about this eatery! The roast pork was yummy and aromatic! The chicken was tender and tasty and the pho was perfect! Legit delicious !!!

Environment
It was a pre-dark afternoon when we visited and the lights of the eater weren't as bright (?) I felt really dark that time. Could be just the weather!

Service
Not much really service. You have to place you're order at the back where they have all the food displays. It could be pretty rush if you're new to this place so better check their menu first before approaching the ordering area. You might hold the
Line ( which I did) 😂

Tho, the food was Worth it ! So affordable yet generous! Would highly recommend !

I used to love this place. Easy food to take back to the office. I will not go back anymore. I am so sick of finding black hair in my food. In the chicken and rice or salads i have found black hairs. The first time it happened i just shrugged it off because i understand that sometimes you just lose hair. This is about the 5th time it has happened now and i know their not my hairs.
I am really disappointed because hygiene is important. If your losing hair please just wear a hair net.

The lemongrass chicken bun bowl is consistently excellent. Good portions, great prices, and friendly service! Gets pretty busy around lunch but the staff handle it well.

I ordered a grilled combination banh mi today. There were plenty of meat in my roll. Well marinated and cooked meat. However I was very disappointed because the carrot was not pickled. Pickles are just as important as the meat or the bread because it helps balancing the flavours. The banh mi just didn't do it for me. I might try other items on the menu next time.

Tammys is such a hidden gem!
Tucked away behind a small shop front right near UniSA City West Campus you'll find Tammys. When you see lines of tradies and staff from the area flocking somewhere and lining up at lunch time, you know it must be good. Freshly grilled chicken on the hot plate in a bun bowl is what i recommend. It's flavoursome and so cheap compared to others in the area. The Bahn Mi are also great, just be careful with that Chilli because man does it have a kick!!!

Great food and very courteous staff, try the salad with chicken (that is marinated and grilled well) and served with a generous portion of vegetables (carrots, cucumber) and fish oil.

Very healthy and light..

Exceptionally fresh and tasty Banh Mi - I had the grilled lamb and my dining companion the lemongrass chicken. Friendly service. At $6 lunch here is a steal. Was a quiet friday in January when we went, so service was fast - I suspect this place gets busy when Uni is back in session.

I have only been here once but the experience was great. I had a pork meatball banh mi - it was made quickly, the roll was crunchy and fresh, the meat was tasty and the salads were fresh and portioned well. You can't ask for much more than that from a banh mi, although I am always on the hunt for places that include pâté in their rolls. Being in the city the price of a roll is dearer than the suburbs, but it's still very reasonable at $6.
