Review Han's Patisserie - Adelaide

Cooper Lin
Han’s Patisserie offers a wide range of Chinese and Japanese pastries, as well as coffee and beverages, which you can enjoy in store or take away. I will strongly recommend you to tryWatermelon Fruit Cake and Hokkaido Double Cheese cake. Watermelon Fruit Cake has a strong rose fragrance and is definitely worth trying.

Went to Han's Pastisserie to satisfy some dessert cravings. Lots of choices here, always fresh and delicious. Lots of space as well if you want to sit down and enjoy your slice cake(s). But I still find this place a bit pricey. I would have come here more often if prices are more reasonable but maybe that is part of the appeal (for others).

My family and I have been here multiple times and we love it. Yes, it is on the pricey side, but we have yet to find another place where the cakes are not sickly sweet like many other bakeries. I recommend the watermelon cake and the lychee and raspberry cake, although unsurprisingly every one of their cakes taste amazing so what ever you pick, your in for a treat.

Durian cake & Matcha cheese cake are my favorites. They are really good and not too sweet. Perfect place to catch up with friends.

I went through their instagram page and followed there amazing cake photos, but was doubtful if i would get the same like in picture. To give a shot, pre-ordered for my friend birthday.. Received a wonderful minion cake made with red-velvet flavour similar to the post on insta. Happy customer:)

Ordered an 8 inch square watermelon cake to be delivered within city centre and Han's Patisserie did such a great job! The delivery was quick and easy, and the cake was delicious. Lots of compliments from everyone. It is just the right amount of sweetness and very refreshing. We cut the cake into 12 decent sized pieces and I felt it was really good value. Recommended!

Really really good cakes. We got the lychee raspberry for my mums 70th. It was a hit.

They accept my rush order 2hours in advance my pick up, friendly service and patiently attitude, very tasty cake! Highly recommend!

We were recommended here for the crepe cake but didn’t enjoy it very much. It was soft but quite plain. I ordered the watermelon cake for a friend’s birthday and we loved the aesthetics but the taste, again, did not hit expectations.

We loved their crepe cakes, particularly durian and matcha flavour. We tried their matcha tiramisu mouse cake, but that was quite underwhelming as we could not taste the matcha at all.

What a fantastic discovery! I love their cakes - so light and easy to eat. Their crepe cakes are delicious but their watermelon fruit cake takes the award! Ordered it for various work and birthday functions and so far nobody has left disappointed!

If you love watermelon/strawberry, lychee/raspberry, durian cakes...look no further. Always a favourite at birthday parties amongst adults and kids. Nearly as good as Black Star in Sydney!

Such a nice place having a chat, nice pastries and cake, especially durian mille crepe cake and prosciutto pastries! Really tasty! Will definitely come again!

Came here based on a friend's recommendation. Had the strawberry watermelon cake a couple of time while in Sydney so didn't try it here. I had the durian Mille crepe cake instead. It taste quite good, can definitely taste the durian in it. Very friendly service too.
The service here was really good, they were really patient and nice.

The strawberry watermelon cake was really nice, I wasn't expecting much from it, but it had a really good ratio of cake, cream, and fruits, and had a delightful rosy taste to it. It wasn't too sweet, which I appreciated. Honestly, this is a must-try, I absolutely loved it, and would come back for it again.

The tiramisu mille crepe cake however wasn't as I had expected. The cream was really nice, but the cake itself didn't go together very well, I feel like I would have just preferred an actual tiramisu. The crepe taste had a very prominent presence, and overpowered the other elements, so there wasn't that classic tiramisu flavour I craved. Also, I didn't particularly enjoy the texture of the crepes. I probably wouldn't get it again, that said, it wasn't bad, and again, not overly sweet.

The matcha pastry was decent. I think it's a type of dessert that will suit only certain taste buds. It's a very typical asian dessert; inside there is a bean-like paste (it might actually be beans, I'm not sure) that wasn't too sweet, and the pastry on the outside had a slight crispy-ness to it. However, there wasn't really any matcha flavour in my opinion.

This place is worth having a visit and trying out. Again, if you're unsure on what to get, definitely try the strawberry watermelon cake; it was the winner for me today :)

The strawberry watermelon cake is a must try! Taste wise it is on par if not better than black star in Sydney. The green tea Mille crepe is good too, not too sweet and the matcha flavour not overpowering. Staff is friendly and helpful, definitely would come back for more!
The Munchkin
Good friendly service. Had the strawberry watermelon cake which is almost close to the original as black star pastry. The mille crepe cake is beautiful and you can taste the flavours in the durian and black sesame cakes. Not overtly strong but just enough.

Good place with good cakes. Love the durian cake and watermelon. Service is pretty good too. It just get a bit noisy in the cafe because of the size, otherwise, a 5/5

Very good dresser and service. Dessert that suit to pp who is controlling weight bcz not that much sugar. I love the cake and pancake it makes.

Decided to visit Han's for a much needed taste of Asian pastries last night!
However it was quite disappointing! we had the mille crepe cakes; green tea and durian. I pretty much grew up having Mille crepe cakes for birthdays and events and the ones served weren't as strong in flavor or as tasteful.

We've also tried the prosciutto and lotus and egg yolk pastry and they were stale! Was definitely a little disappointed after the visit :(

New little dessert cafe in town, they used to have online business and I am so glad they actually decided to open a shop for business. The decorations of the shop is very simple but it works together. Just simple tables and paintings. This cafe offers some exquisite cakes and pastry sweets. They are also developing more n more flavours every time I visit - they are improving and expanding the menu. The Mille crepe seems to be very popular there. If you can tolerate the durian taste, give the durian Mille crepe cake a go. It's beautiful. Other Mille crepes are so so for me (probably too creamy for my liking e.g. Prefer more green tea taste towards the green tea Mille crepe). The cake that I love the most is the watermelon strawberry cake. This is a beautiful combination of couple of layers... Fresh strawberries and fresh watermelon with fresh cream - just absolutely delicious. The sweet pastry there is worth a try. Love all these little little snacks. It goes really well with a cup of Chinese tea. However, coffee here isn't the best. There are also celebration/birthday cakes available to purchase or pre order for your event.

The prosciutto pastries they sell are my favourite! Apparently it originated from china yunnan province. Can't wait to try their rose petal pastry!

Tried this place out following friends recommendation. Turns out he was right! The desserts and pastries are not as fancy or creative as some other dessert places around town, but they are more affordable, unique and tasty! The strawberry watermelon cake and their mille crepes are a must try. Now with the lunar / lantern festival nearing they are also selling mooncakes which apparently are all handmade in shop. The coconut and Hawaiian sweet potato snowy mooncake i tried was a first of such food i ever tasted and was unexpectedly delicious.

One of few places in Adelaide that sells Millie Crepe cake, tried their durian crepe cake, it was full of flavour, it can taste the real durian in the cake rather just flavouring. Also the Chinese style rose petal pastry was so good, this pastry is their shop speciality, they sell is one of a kind in the whole of Australia, must try it when you visit.

It was only a few years ago when Adelaide experienced a flood of new dessert bars coming on to the scene. While the trend has died down, it’s still good to see a new dessert place pop up now and then. Only a week old, Han’s Patisserie is the latest to open up in the city centre. They don’t have creative desserts that you would see at other places but rather small pre-made sweets that sit in a cabinet.
