Review Un Caffe Bar - Adelaide

Simon Christie
Went to get a coffee from here the other day after an early start and being rained on. Service was quick but I was really disappointed with the coffee. Way too bitter and far too hot. I went here as I did not want to go to another coffee shop nearby for their coffee is too weak and too cold. Can there not be a happy middle ground on the strip. I had about 3 sips then three the coffee away leaving me still wanting a coffee but I went without.
Its always Coffee
Had a great experience here. They were still doing breakfast after midday on Saturday. We ordered breakfast and it came out very quick and they even brought out the salt and pepper without us having to ask for it (most restaurants forget this these days). We added salmon to our order and they actually put it on the bruschetta and not just on the side which was a very considerate touch. The coffees where exactly what I expected from this location so I'm happy. Plenty of seating outdoors in the sun and service was great.

If I could give more stars I would. A group of us came into Uncafe today (25th of Sept) around 3pm. Lovely little place but what made our visit was the charming redhead worker, she blew us away with her customer service but most importantly the COFFEE. Absolutely AMAZING. We will be back just for that! Perfect temperature, perfect taste and every single one of us enjoyed our beverages to the last drop. Highly recommend. Thank you.

Breakfast was fantastic... Coffee was so hot I couldn't touch it, yes I know hot things cool down but it really changes the flavour. If I return I will ask for a coffee around 60 degrees not 75 or hotter...

Breakfast is amazing. I love the coffee and the lunch menu too. The staff are super friendly. Great location and atmosphere.

I love this place because is inside North Adelaide Village where you have 2 free hrs parking, Foodland and its food is tasty. Un Caffe Bar has Wi-Fi service which is fast enough to do the basics. Recommended!

Breakfast again, in North Adelaide this time. Basic cafe with good food and coffee. At the entrance to an arcade, has sheltered outdoor seating from where you can watch the world go by. Menu is basic but adequate. Food was hot, fresh and basically presented. Pay at the counter, no problem, price was what you would expect as well. Nice cafe with good service, worth a visit.

This is my preferred coffee spot in the village. They have gluten free treat options and the coffee always hit the mark. Competitors in the area aren’t consistent.

Greasy, sloppy and overpriced. I came in here for a hot, big breakfast. My tomatoes were mushy, the bacon was dripping in grease and my potato rosti soggy from all the tomato juices and bacon fat. The best thing was the fresh avocado on buttered toast. Which was mostly what I picked out. Eggs were odd. Wouldn't be back

A great spot in North Adelaide with a beautiful big back drop photo of Italy to se the mood. I have been coming here since 2009 and think it's a great place to catch up with friends for a coffee or quick bite to eat. They have done a great job of keeping up with food trends as they have a few raw/vegan slices. The Salted caramel is by far my favourite. Coffee is good, can't complain and staff are always very friendly and accommodating.

Customer Service. Customer service is very poor. The staff need some training to improve on their customer service. The coffee is okay. I have tried the chicken wraps and the lamb wraps and they both taste the same. The chicken is the same colour as the lamb. The food is not that good.

Uncomfortable. Service was badly acted out sincerity, my soy latte was not smooth at all it was as though the milk had been heated up and poured into the shot, separated from the froth. Also tasted peachy (not a euphemism) it had a strange peach taste which was unlike my friend's same order. Atmosphere is grotesque, not somewhere you can feel comfortable or enjoy yourself. Gross, don't go here if you actually want a good experience

Average at best. Food and coffee took 40+ minutes for bacon and eggs and a toasted sandwich. When it did came out eggs were runny even though we asked specifically not for that. Had to go up to the counter to ask for salt and pepper and when I did the waitress couldn't find any and asked me to go look at the tables and find it! I had a glance but no luck. Bland eggs and very fatty bacon. Go elsewhere if possible!

Terrible. Eggs Benedict served with freshly cut tomato?! And the eggs cooked in a cup in a microwave! Classy.

Dont Bother!. This cafe has appalling service. We ordered coffees and waited 20 mins only to find out they didn't have a buzzer number on the docket. So rather than looking for us they just did nothing. After making them aware coffees still did not arrive. As it was mothers day we finally had no choice but leave due to other commitments. When we approached the counter the staff were combative and rude (even one kiwi parrot in the background mouthing off) and after an unnecessary confrontation we received a refund. Whilst the manager handled it well in the end I would not waste my time with this venue again and strongly recommend against wasting your time.

Below Average Coffee. Had coffee only whilst staying in North Adelaide last week. Coffee only below average. No decent crema. Milk was good and creamy not frothy thank goodness because I don't like froth. Had 4 coffees from different cafes and did not find one that was up to my personal expectations. Probably spoilt living where coffee is grown and have domestic coffee machine myself.

Modern, Popular espresso bar, with great coffee. The Un Caffe majors in excellent Coffee, having their own unique blend of 100% Arabica beans, along with an extensive menu of fresh tasty food. All at very affordable prices. We had a Pepperoni Pizza, that was as delicious you would taste in Italy. The cafe has indoor and out door table service. We found the service friendly, and professional. The ambience was chatty, friendly, relaxing. Good selection of magazines and news papers available. Hey this was a good call.

Great coffee!. Arguably the best coffee in adelaide (along with Bar9 on Glen Osmond). They obviously train their barista's well as they're usually up for a good discussion on coffee roasting and preperation. I go most days, also have great breakfast for the weekend

Too bad for words. Been 3 times and each time I say to myself to give it another chance:
Service - uninterested, untrained and lack of care a big ZERO
Coffee - all 3 times it was cold, the cups are too small and twice they didnt have clean spoons
Ambience - place is always filthy
Avoid at all costs, you cant possibly get it so wrong 3 times.

Rattled. We stopped in here for a late lunch/snack and it all went downhill from there. I ordered the Muesli and yoghurt as they did the all day breakfast. This meal was pretty standard and i was happy with it. The other two i was with ordered a chicken salad and a salmon salad. They took about 40 minutes to come out and when they did they look good. But after a few bites both people noticed the spinach/lettuce hadn't been washed and that there was dirt through it all that made it crunchy, there was also a bug on one of the leaves. We had to send them back and as we were in a rush got our money back.
As an apology they gave us take away coffees for free and a a chocolate. NIce gesture but would have just rathered our meals to have come out quicker and without dirt!

Not consistent. You take a risk at having a good coffee at Un Caffe at North Adelaide. Some days it can be fantastic and others like dishwater. They have a high staff turnover so you never know what you are going to get. Service can be extremely slow and rude. They recently had a barista that was so bad and so arrogant that we will not return again. Our hot food we we ordered arrived luke warm and 25 minutes after the coffees and when we went to ask why we were met with a rude response and told if we didn't like it don't come back. Well we wont. When we go out I remember that I work hard for my money and expect to enjoy spending it - this was not an enjoyable experience.

I had the chorizo focaccia, described as - spanish sausage, hummus, tomato & provolone cheese. mmm chorizo The focaccia was nice, the chorizo wasn't chili hot, or overly fatty, and I loved the provolone, it was all soft and melted. The hummus wasn't strong, I may not even have remembered it was there until I reviewed the menu again, but the tomato gave necessary moisture. Good, quick easy lunch, relatively well priced compared to the other cafe's in the area. The Emperor gives the Chorizo Focaccia and Un Caffe - North Adelaide 14.5/20 chops on the chopping board Food: 7.5/10 Ambiance: 3.5/5 Service: 3.5/5 http://uncaffebar.com/ North Adelaide Village 81 O’Connell Street
