Review North Adelaide Burger Bar - Adelaide

I love the food and service here. I ordered an AB and it is always delicious i have never had one better. The store itself doesn't look great on the inside.

Great food and quick service. Ordered a beef burger which was very generous serving for only $6.90. Not oily at all like many other burgers. Service was quick and friendly - be aware of the credit card surcharge.

Overpriced!! Hardly no meat and not full. Waste of money and will not be going back!! šŸ˜”

Can never go wrong with a lamb AB here! Chips are crunchy and perfectly salted. The lamb is beautifully grilled and the awesome combination of sauces complete the meal. Staff are always friendly, no matter what time of day you're there! We ordered the $25 lamb AB for two people and we were both stuffed! Good value and definitely hits the spot.

The best lamb yiros and chips in Adelaide and their home made Chicken šŸ” salt is to die for.... I always ask for my chips well done and Crispy and the Owner BILL ... cooks them to perfection..šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘ There are video games to play while you wait for your order to be cooked or phone your order through so you donā€™t have to wait..

I ordered schnitzel chips and gravy It came up and chich is like rubber and crunchy like plastic I get back to sales person Jack and he said if you didn't like food that's fine we can't do any thing as we are employee. They said they told their boss about food quality but he doesn't care And interested thing their roast chicken is from Costco. They don't cook in house. Shot place to eat and they challenge they arecheap but even one happy to pay extra for food quality.

Great AB's , probably the best in Adelaide. The lamb comes served in decent sized chunks, lovely and tender The homemade tzatziki and chilli sauces are legit! Honestly though have you got a menu online that is not photos from 1989?

Seriously, I have always love this place. Everything about this place were exceptional. From its mouth watering, finger licking food to its fancy, unchanged decor, North Adelaide Burger Bar is indeed a good one! Craving for some mouth watering ab? Better head to this place ! We've always ordered the chicken ab with hot chips and garlic sauce šŸ˜. Remarkable! Indeed one of the best Abs ever šŸ˜šŸ˜

Probably one of my favourite late night, lunch or afternoon yiros and AB places in North Adelaide, good fresh wraps that are perfectly cooked, fluffy and crispy at the same time! This place could probably do with a bit of a facelift, but I suppose that is part of the charm, hasnā€™t changed in years! Friendly service and just good takeaway food. I do love the fact that you can still play on a pinball machine whilst you are waiting for that drippy lamby goodness!! Finger licking yum!

I have always heard raving reviews about this place from my friends for many years now. I know they are known for their AB. I never really had the chance to try this when I was living in Adelaide. Now since I live interstate, I finally managed to have lunch at this place along with my mum when we were here for a brief holiday.

I ordered the chicken AB and my mum went for the Falafel Yiro. The staff were really kind and attentive as they were taking my order. I can say that the AB did live up to its expectations. The chicken was juicy and succulent, and the sauces complimented really well with it along with the fries as well. My mum also loved her Falafel Yiro. The chilli and garlic sauce which is added onto the AB and the Falafel Yiro really elevates the flavour to the next level. Now I can see why students n adults alike come to this place after a big night out.

An excellent joint known for their AB n Yiros. Also totally worth your money as well. Altogether it costed me, $23.60 which is fine in my opinion. Not too expensive at all. So I totally recommend going to this place which is at the heart of North Adelaide and you definitely won't be disappointed.

If you're vegetarian/vegan come here and grab yourself a falafel yiros or ab! The staff are super lovely and their food is really good (not to mention they aren't judgmental at all, one gentleman is a vegetarian himself) Will definitely come back when I'm in the mood for an ab šŸ˜‹
Ps the vegetarian seasoning on the chips is amazing, better than chicken salt!
I use to be a fan of this joint for their AB. However the last AB I ordered was way too saucy and the lamb meat was all crumbs. I felt like I was eating soup. That's how wet it was. The service is very average now as well.

I've since gone to blue and white and the ab and service there is so much better. The meat is actually chunky, not all crumbed out and sauce is just right.

A place frequented by my friends and I for many years. Home and originator of the AB. A must try for anyone planning to visit Adelaide. Haven't eaten anything else from here but the best AB you'll ever have!

This is probably the best place to have AB in Adelaide! Honestly if I keep coming here, I believe I'll get a heart attack soon, but it is just too tempting as the AB is just so well made. The meat and sauce is evenly distributed and there's just enough to cover every chip in the box/plate. There is thisĀ oneĀ staff who is very friendly, he would always start a conversation and joke around, and sometimes if he's having a great day, he'll chuck in some freebies into your takeaway orders. There was also this one time when I ordered multiple cardboard boxes worth of ABĀ to bring to my friend's party, he helped me carried some to my car which was parked a few streets away! Thumbs up to that friendly lad, and would definitely come back here.

Best tatsest ever. I live in Darwin so I had to make my own. It turned out ok but I made such a mess I think that I'll leave it to the experts.

I saw the 82% and had high expectations but unfortunately a little let down. They call themselves a burger bar and you only have a choice of beef or chicken with the basics!! It's cheap but you get what you pay for........far better ones out there!

Rude to Customers. I've been going to the red and white every now and then for a few years now. I hadn't tried it out for a while, and decided to get a lamb ab for dinner on saturday night with my girlfriend.

I called ahead and placed an order, during which i was greeted with impatience. He got frustrated when I didn't know what sizes there were and had to ask him. Also, it was loud in the background and when he asked my name i spelled it out in letters so he could take it down easily. He responded rudely: "Mate, I know how to spell alright? Just say your name next time".

I arrived at the counter 10 minutes later to collect my food. I walked to the cashier and said "Hi, I placed an order for take away under the name * * * *". His response: "You'll have to do better than that mate". I was blown away and the sheer lack of customer service I was being delivered. I said "What do you mean". He replied "The guy that takes down the orders refuses to write down names next to orders, so just tell me what you ordered?" I'd had enough, and complained that "the person that took my order was rude and impatient". The cashier responded "I would complain, but I can't because he is my boss. He owns the place".

So, the owner of the burger bar I've been spending money at for years thinks it's ok to treat his customers like crap?

Definitely the last time I will ever eat from the red and white.

If you can stand on their terrible customer service, none of the staff there were polite to the customers. Except the bad service, the food was yummy. Nothing better than Combo AB in late night around 11pm. You have two option to choose chicken, lamb or mix chicken and lamb. I ordered combo AB as usual, like the taste of garlic sauce, tomato sauce and meat flavour. I will definately come back.

Amazzzing AB! Chips sooo crunchy even though drenched in delicious sauces! A must try!!

The AB should be heritage listed. To fully appreciate the joy that is the AB and the North Adelaide Burger Bar, you need to lob up there at around 2am. Sobriety optional. There is nothing quite like chipping in (pardon the pun) with some drinking buddies and ordering the largest possible AB with what's left of the group's drinking money, and then feeling the joy of seeing a mound of meat, carbohydrates and multicoloured liquid with a number of plastic forks sticking up the top. This is a rite of passage for all Adelaidians aged between 18 and 25.

AB OMG Went there especially to try what appears to be an Adelaide icon somewhat akin to the legendary pie floater. Wasn't disappointed as I sit here reeling from the fallout. Initially upon consuming it's like, OK what's the big deal, quite a tasty dish. As I write this review it is all going on inside including the most serious case of garlic breath since records were kept. If you are feeling adventurous & enjoy countless gastric jokes I highly recommend this meal. PS dining in the street is the only option unless taking away.

Amazing 'ab yiros'! A must try!!

The AB is the perfect hangover food. My favourite is the classic lamb AB with garlic, chilli and tomato sauce. The chips are thick, crunchy and evenly salted.

So I reached 400 followers on Instagram last month and what better way to celebrate than eating one of Adelaide's most infamous food offerings? The one, the only... 'AB' aka the 'atomic bomb' the 'abortion' and the 'afterbirth' (seriously not making this up). A combination of chips, yiros meat, garlic sauce and either chilli, tomato or BBQ (or all three of that's your thing) it is an iconic late night indulgence often consumed when drunk... or hungover. Yet would you believe in my whole 16 years of living in this fine city I have never eaten one? Not at my heaviest, not at my drunkest, not even after those all night study sessions during my undergrad years. It only seemed appropriate I finally tick this off of my bucket list, however there was one issue... where. The AB and who invented it is a hotly debated topic... two small takeaway restaurants only a few door down from each other on O'Connell Street, the Blue and White cafe and the North Adelaide Burger Bar (aka the red and white) both claim to 1) be the home of the original AB and 2) claim to have the best AB. After much polling I discovered my friends and fellow foodies each had their own preference, and no real standout was evident... as such I let my husband who has experienced said AB decide and we ended up at..... The North Adelaide Burger Bar When we ordered I informed the guy serving it was my first AB (enter all of the puns about being glad he was my first here) and I asked if it was possible to add cheese (because we all know cheese makes everything better). Not only was I able to add cheese... his recommendation was to add bacon as well... and who says no to bacon? Now I know some dieĀ hard AB fan will say I shouldn't go messing with the AB.. but whatever... if I can add bacon and cheese to something there is no way I'm refusing that business. And so without further rambling I present to you... the combination (chicken and lamb) AB Ā topped with garlic and tomato sauce plus added bacon and cheese. I'd h

To be honest, it wasn't as good as I remembered, but it was still a great meal. Don't get me wrong, if you're young, wanting to get a great cheap meal before a night out, or during a night out, or even a hangover cure, this is it. Just make sure you don't burp, or try to kiss anyone afterwards - the garlic breath is sure to set you up for a night on the couch.
