Review Sofra Kabab House - Adelaide

Fasih Farooqui
I ordered small AB and requested the person at the counter to put more meat than fries and I paid extra for that so they can provide with good quality because meat is obviously expensive than fries. The person at the counter was very nice and humble and respectfully accepted my request and told the people who were preparing the food. But they didn't even bother to listen to him I think because they actually put even less meat than normal and fries were heaps as usual. I actually felt very disappointed by the service.

Really disappointed in this place. The old owner has sold it off and it's become a very poor quality food venue and not only that all the prices have jumped up massively. The old prices I would have paid $8 for a pot of tea and $2 for baklava. I paid 32$ for 4x baklava and a pot of tea for myself and 3 other friends. What a total rip off. The tea was bitter and very over brewed. The half chicken meal was rancid with the chicken tasting like it had been microwaved then cooked. And I paid allot more than the old prices for a poorer quality of food. The overall vibe of the place has even changed with it being allot less of a cozy and chill vibe to having bright light everywhere taking away that cozy vibe. The outdoor area has no heaters aswell. Unfortunately it is an end of an era for myself and my mates as we've been coming to this place for a few years now and unfortunately if you're going to charge an extortionate amount of money for absolute garbage food then what is the point in coming back.

I’m visiting regularly this shop since 2010 I came in 🇦🇺 And used to be perfect. however since the owner has been changed the food quality is below average too oily does not taste as before and you can verify that by how many less people they visiting everyday. Used to be quite busy all the time but not anymore , you should check you food quality!!!!

If I want to be fair 2 stars is enough due to friendly and nice staff. Apart from staff, the food was surprisingly bad, dry meat( chicken, lamb and koofta) and small portion. Dirty toilet and no soap. This place used to very good while ago but it's going down hill recently.

Like other reviews outlines, with new management the food quality has certainly became inferior. This place used to have best tasting chicken kabab. I went today for dinner after approx 3-4 months and was absolutely disappointed with tasteless and dry food. Will not be visiting this place again.

Previous food at this establishment was much better with the previous owners/management. It wasn't burnt or oilly. Now it is quite oilly, burnt and the services has declined. I wish it will change the food quality soon as it is the only place open till late in adelaide.

Unfortunately with the new owner the food is been disaster, the meat taste so bad and they give a small serve of kebab that is literally like a kids meal for $20.. the quality of the food is really bad and I really don’t recommend to anyone but if you like wasting money go ahead.

Very very tasty food. The tea is the best tea I’ve ever had. The AB is really delicious. The only bad thing is when the meat on the stick finishes and there is little burnt bits that they still serve you but thats only sometimes. Another thing is that the prices have gone a little bit up but apart from that, the food, quality, service and the taste is amazing

Oh my gosh! 😍🤤

Sofra sells the best yiros/kebab in Adelaide. 🌯
Hands down the most delicious meat and flavours, soft pita and amazing meat from the spit.

The lamb shank is a must try served with a generous portion of rice and salad! You cannot complain. Very clean as well.
So flavoursome and a wonderful interior middle eastern decor.... you feel like you are in another country. The owner always greets you with a friendly smile and you can tell the business is very family friendly and family orientated.

The ingredients are fresh and the flavours are unmatched. I always leave with a full stomach. Please try the homemade desserts they are to DIE FOR!!

Quality! It Shouldnt Be That Hard! Love A Wonderful Mouth Full Of Wholesome FOOD!
We where told this place was amazing. It was the worst meal I have experienced we left most of the food on the plate. Falafel wrap was so dry and cold!!!! The vine leaves where so hard :-( save your money

Overcharged $5, falafels in wrap were horrible as they were hard and chewy and we specifically ordered chicken but got a combination that included lamb. Extremely disappointed and will not be returning.

Excellent food for a really good price! Really fast and friendly service. I only recently discovered this place but definitely be a regular!

The food is tasty and the prices are good, however be aware of the parking, the car park for the restaurant is managed by a predatory private contractor who will issue you a ticket even though it says that tickets are only required for parking of over 1 hour. I was issued with a $39 fine which I am currently trying to get refunded.

Not familiar with Middle-Eastern cuisine but dropped by this place to try it out and it was alright! The lamb & chicken kebab ($18) was tasty and flavoursome.

I got food poisoning last night from a combination AB, Beware!!! It was the only thing that I had eaten, meat was cold when I was eating it.

Always a great place to have a midnight snack on a Friday or Saturday night. Never a let down. Foods always cooked well. Only mark down is I have another favourite kebab place..which closes at 11pm :(

We had yiros on the plate and it was amazing. The meat was tender and moist and omg the pita bread was to die for. The serving was plentiful and the service was A+. Totally recommended and we'll be going again soon.

Good menu but very low quality meat. Happy to pay higher price but get quality kebab. Cheeeers.

Very nice. This place is owned and operated by a good Arabic Muslim family with excellent food and customer service. Chicken kebab was very nice as was the falafel.

Favourite Place. Sofra is one of my favourite places to eat, the food has always been delicious. My friends and I go there at least once a week.

Really good home style food. I had lunch at Sofra on recommendation of a friend. We both had the number three with two chicken kebabs, rice, salad, garlic sauce, pita bread and pickled chilli's. What can I say, it was really nice and I enjoyed it alot. The staff were friendly even through you can tell that English is there second language. Will be going back for sure and introducing some of my friends.

Located on West Terrace, this place offers kebabs, yiros, falafels and sweets. The store is simply decorated and quite spacious. All the meals are available as combination deals, however, the staff will tell you the price if you don’t wish to have a drink.
