Review Phat Buddha Rolls - Adelaide

Went to The Jade last night for a Fringe event called "A Box of Memories" A Musical about some hard truths with humour and perspective from those dealing with Dementia from different points of view. Very well written and great performers undertaking the subject. Highly recommended and needs more shows next year. Well done to the McKellar's ☺️

Watched a local music show last night. Atmosphere at The Jade was nice, wood fire was on and it wasn't too packed. The music performance area is not too big - everyone can see and hear without being squashed!

Coffee is good, service is fast if not a tad unfriendly, but hands down by far the worst bagel I've ever had. Toast the bagel BEFORE you add anything so the inside is toasted and not soggy. No one wants to start their morning with a soggy inner bagel with the world's tiniest amount if cream cheese. If I wanted to be that disappointed I'd just look in the mirror.

Just had my 50th here and I have say it was the perfect venue! Great atmosphere, terrific for live music, friendly staff, perfect city location. What more can I say I truly love this place - thanks to everyone at the Jade for your excellent communication, your beautiful venue and for making it such a great night!!

What a beautifully intimate venue to watch a show in. I'm not sure how many people would actually be able to be seated in here (100?), But that is what ads to the charm and the intimacy of this venue. You can almost feel as if you are a part of the show. Being a smaller venue means that you will have no problem hearing the performance whether it is spoken word or singing, although in saying that, it is mic'd up to enhance the performance. There is a bar (adjacent to the performance area) which has a great selection of beer and cider both on and off tap as well as a very fine selection of spirits. I'm lead to believe that food is available, but there wasn't on the day I went to the performance (Sunday) on account that they aren't usually open on Sundays. The staff were also really nice. I look forward to the next time I get to see a performance there.

The Jade has a lovely atmosphere and their service is really good. I am vision impaired though, and this place is very dimly lit. With the steps, etc. there, I find myself not feeling quite safe.

On a few different event occasions Phat Buddha has been a food vendor. I think it's value for money, simple and satisfying Vietnamese, I've always had fresh Bahn Mi from these guys!

Delicious Vietnamese rolls and noodle bowls. The staff are really friendly and listen to feedback to make the menus even better. Love the vegetable fritter roll.

Rude customer service. Bought chicken and salad meat rolls. they ran out of every salad ingredient but for carrots, never informed us of this at all. so or meat rolls consisted of chicken and carrots only. I'm not a fan of carrots, but rude service staff not informing their customers that they are out of ingredients is even harder to swallow

Been a huge fan of Vietnamese rolls but these Cambodian rolls are excellent too. Different appeal to the Vietnamese rolls but still excellent and flavorsome. Only downfall is that I can't go get a roll whenever I please as it is always all over the place. A second truck or even permanent shop front would be a great addition as it'll make it more readily available
RIP IT UP MAG
Phat Buddha Rolls embrace fresh Cambodian flavours in their on-the-road-made meat rolls. Their rolls are similar to the crusty Vietnamese ‘banh mi’ with coriander, chilli and crunchy pork and are just as tasty

Finally made it to a Fork on the Road event – and a double whammy at that! Lunch and dinner FOTR sessions a few weeks back was held at the new and awesomely funky fringe venue, The Depot in between Franklin Street and Grote Street. Just some of food trucks on the day: Sneaky Pickle , The Sausage King , America’s Top Dog and Loca Pops The Depot stage and bar Let Them Eat , Hornet Foods , The Little Van That Could and Burger Theory Let Them Eat food stall I thought I’d give Phat Buddha a try after being somewhat intrigued with their ‘Cambodian Rolls’. Phat Buddha – Cambodian rolls, beef lemongrass roll; $8.50 You know what? These ‘Cambodian rolls’ are pretty much replicas of the Vietnamese meat rolls that I’ve grown up with and absolutely love, but they’re not the same! The rolls for one, are a lot more expensive, they weren’t generous with the filling so the roll was more or less… ‘flat’ and the flavours weren’t the same. The shredded carrot weren’t the pickle kind and it was missing th
