Review Boneshaker - Adelaide

Janet’s Journey
This place is conveniently located in the Pumpt complex. Parking out front can be tough as it seems to always be busy. Good atmosphere, family friendly set up and allows parents to relax & have a drink while kids enjoying scooting around. The menu caters for quick meals & kids menu too. Love the seating area, well set up.

Good cafe for hangout on weekend. Great for kids as too many activity area in there. Pancakes were really good. Spicy chicken burger and chicken wings were okayish. Good options in drinks and smoothies.

A great new burger joint on the western side of town. Staff are lovely. Burgers are simple and tasty. Prices are reasonable. Good place to go with family.

Our daughter performed live music out the front of your cafe for the Christmas Pageant on the weekend, what a set up! The burgers and coffee were delicious and the service from the young waitress with the dark hair with an undercut was liberating! Her manners and enthusiasm for her job was delightful to watch! PS Love the story behind your cafe name.

Went here for lunch. Burgers and chips were fresh. They were missing something though - didn't seem to have enough flavour. The chicken wings were fresh but needed to be cooked for longer to get the crispiness. It was a good atmosphere for the kids and everyone liked their meal. You could easily spend an afternoon here mucking around on the bikes and tracks they have.

The Aussie burger is good. The cheeseburger is over priced. The jalapeno poppers are not amazing. Overall it's alright but there is just too much competition to warrant coming back here. A better option is Sabroso or the nearby Hilton

Overall a pretty disappointing lunch. First of all the beyond burger that was advertised was “not available”. Pretty poor considering it was Sunday I can imagine a busy day of the week, an advertised product on the outside of the cafe (that would be fairly popular in this day and age) and is one of very few vegetarian/vegan options. Chips even with the sauces were over cooked and bland. Haloumi bites were also bland despite being quite a flavoursome type of cheese. Fried chicken waffles were better but still nothing amazing. Cafe itself is styled quite nicely and the staff are nice enough. Menu had a lot of cool ideas with reasonable prices but not well executed and I was looking forward to coming back after seeing the menu and the variety but doubtful of a return

Nifty little restaurant hidden within the Pumpt building. Has dine-in and takeaway options and beer (Coopers, which is a big plus from me) on tap! Nice range of American style burgers, hotdogs and sides such as chili-cheese tater tots. Shakes (as the name may suggest) are unfortunately my issue with them, as I have had two and found them to be nice, but certainly not standout. Food always excellent though. Very nice, warrants a return.

Boneshaker's burgers are terrific. I like that they keep it simple and focus on quality. A soft, light bun is my preference, which was delivered with succulent chicken and fresh ingredients. Seasoned fries were also done well. The whole menu looks awesome, and there are a few options for vegetarians.

Seriously no. Had a Philly cheesesteak and it’s was rubbish. The “steak” was thinner than a slice of Coles ham, burger itself had little to no filling. Went back to them and they chuck on some bell peppers saying it was the wrong order in the 1st place. Mates salad was mediocre at best. Only decent thing we ate were the tater totes, which is probably out of a bag anyways.

Feels like they cater for the kids riding at the park, no way close to a proper burger joint. Extremely disappointed.

Always enjoyed the food here. The boneburger is amazing! Full of flavor and not greasy. The Phily cheese steak is one my personal favorites. Definitely recommend!

Nice little set up here. Good to see someone throwing a Po Boy on the menu as well! Fish was well cooked and the roll was stacked full. Veggie burger goes down well also. Fresh made ice tea was a nice addition to the southern theme! Solidly friendly staff and cool set up next to the bike track!

Good burger, bad chocolate syrup milkshake. Set in a bike park which is interesting. It wasn't busy on the night be attended, but service was fast

Great burgers here, just a simple burger made well. Soft bread that doesn't take over the whole mouthful unlike some other burger places in Adelaide, beautifully cooked meat, and simple extras. It's got a nice vibe with the pared-back decor and great coffee and desserts - there's no other burger place where I can get a decent coffee. (Foundry has coffee, but the burgers are bland and bread-y.) And the chocolate cronut is great, so I'm sorted for dessert too.

Casual and relaxed atmosphere. We have indulged in burgers, mex salads and side dishes and they never disappoint. Happy to recommend for a quick snack and casual catch up whilst the kids are at Pumpt.

Ordered Sweet potato fries which were bland and undercooked. The popcorn chicken was just horrible, tasted like it had gone off yet had no actual flavour somehow. I wouldn't give this food to criminals.

Interesting set up as its inside the same complex as a bmx/scooter park. Has a Nordburger feel to the place as you walk in. Tried the double boneburger and some sweet potato chips. Both were good. Chips were seasoned well though serving size was a bit on the small size. Burger patties were well cooked and juicy, secret sauce was nice. Reasonable prices too. I'm going to have to go back to try some other menu items which sounded good.

Boneshaker recently opened within an indoor BMX complex on Marion Road, which gives it a cool atmosphere with a bit of free entertainment throughout your meal. The staff were inviting and friendly and the food was incredible. I had the Crumbed Portobello Burger With a side of Tater Tots and just couldn't get over how good it was. The beetroot relish was a great touch and the fact that it could be made vegan just made it even better. The only thing that could be improved is the opening hours during the week, with the restaurant closing at 7pm on weeknights. I'm hoping this changes as more people discover this new little gem in the western suburbs of Adelaide.

Such a different atmosphere at a cafe!! I sort of got a Nordbuger vibe when i entered, but while you eat and drink your coffees you can watch the talented kids do their tricks on the skate ramps. We went for brunch on a Sunday after seeing a photo of their pancakes on instagram. Such good prices, they were only about $10 for a stack of 3 fluffy pancakes with some caramelised banana! This was really the only breakfasty item on the menu, but I will definitely be back to try their other dishes! Staff were very friendly and checked in on us. Ample parking as well, didnt have to worry about street parking!
