Only been there once. Ordered English tea and ice cream plate. Overall is good and environment is nice too with amazing lights. But the service should improve.
Used to be better in terms of taste and quantity (used to serve two toasts but one now). Waiting time is pretty long. Our favourite is the honey toast served with vanilla ice cream and strawberries.
My fav place for matcha and durian. I just can't stop ordering for their toast. And their green tea latte. Their toast is out of the world. The matcha lava cake, I love it. The green tea cheesecake, yumm! I have tried their durian king toast, matcha toast, oreo toast and none of it has disappoint me. Andd its the only place that serve durian ice cream among all places I have been.
Love it! Honey toast is their speciality, I prefer the strawberry honey toast with their house fresh apple tea. It's fresh apple purée with black tea. Really unique. Delish! I really love the fresh strawberry jam they serve the toast with. Great price too, the honey toast is best shared as times quite a generous serve. Have been back a number if times. Crepes tasty too. Service could improve but the food is worth it.
served one of the best toast with ice cream and honey plus they add strawberry on top.
the toast it self is kind of like a block. the texture of the bread is amazing. crispy in the outside and very delicate and soft on the inside. perfect for sharing, worth the money. really love the smell when the cook is making this dessert. choose matcha ice cream and its perfect! great great great.
really would love to try the matcha lava cake. and oh! their belgium chocolate drink is great too!
gonna comeback sometime soon (hopefully)
Sir Café, probably one of the most hidden restaurants on Rundle Street. You are required to go up a flight of stairs before entering this restaurant, and you know you entered the right place once you see their huge moustache logo. A reminder to the taller people, be careful when walking up and down those stairs, its really narrow and you can easily knock your head.
Once you enter the restaurant, you will see some very old-fashioned designs, and hear some old-school music. It sure was interesting, but the restaurant itself was quite small and had limited seating. The chair they provide is quite awkward to sit on when eating but great if you're sitting back and relaxing whilst drinking a cup of coffee/tea.
Since I'm a huge matcha green tea fan, there was no consideration required, and I immediately ordered their matcha green tea waffle. The presentation of the dessert was great, and it was nice to see their logo perfectly made with chocolate powder on the side of their dishes. Now to tasting, the waffle gave me an unusual feeling as it tasted a little raw and a cheese taste to it. Not sure what it was, but it was not the normal waffle you would expect, however adding the ice cream with it just pushed the dish to a whole new level. The green tea ice cream was amazing! It was nice and smooth, and not powdery like how some dessert places make it. The ice cream was also very "green tea", and you could actually taste and smell it.
Overall, Sir café offers a nice and peaceful environment with great desserts. If you're matcha green tea fan like me, there are also other dishes like the lava cake and crème brulee, which both tasted amazing. If you can find Sir Café, you should come and relax, and enjoy your desserts.
Pretty nice dessert cafe hidden away on Rundle Street, you need keen eyes to find it. Though there are little seating areas, the place was very design and had very doll house feeling to it. Flavours in the dessert were flavoursome with the matcha being on point. Overall, Sir Cafe is a decent dessert cafe if you are after something sweet whilst down Rundle Street. Keep a look out for the moustache.
small little dessert cafe situated at Rundle street second level. Small little stairs lead to this high ceiling cafe. There's minimal tables and seats available so if you are thinking to go in a big group, ring in and make a reservation. Recommendation of dessert - honey toast!!! I love the durian and taro honey toast. The honey toast is precut so it's easier to eat. It is not overly too sweet which is a bonus. I've been here few times, the lava cake previous visit was much tastier with good texture. The last visit, the matcha lava cake was slightly undercook. The flavour is beautiful but the cake taste a bit doughy and raw. The menu serves some small nibbles (savouries) so not totally all sweet. Not a bad range of drinks, just the standards. Worth a try if around city.
Sir is a really good asian dessert place in Adelaide, the owner speaks chinese so that was a lot easier for us to ask for recommendations. We ordered apple tea, matcha waffle and matcha honey toast. I have always loved having honey toast back in my hometown and sir didn't let me down, highly recommend! And also the hot apple tea which served with a nice teapot and teacup, tastes amazing! Highly recommend this place if you want to have some good matcha dessert cause I have only tried the matcha flavor but I do think their matcha dessert is so much better than the matcha house. Looking forward to try their durian crepe next time!
The honey toast is out of this world and the waffles are delicious and not overladen with sugar. Also try the warm fuji apple tea it is moorish. The service is also fantastic.
Honey toast!!!. Great service great food!
Banana waffle!. It was a nice little cafe. I came here to try their banana waffle, which was freshly cooked and fruit freshly prepared. The presentation was good and make me feel like order one more. Not the best service, but feeling warm welcomes.
Cool, cute and quirky. Sir Cafe is a tiny, funky, quiet little space upstairs on Rundle St. Very welcoming and relaxing, lots of mismatched couches and chairs, happy hipsters doing their own thing. Only looking for dessert so we shared a pistachio creme brulee which was expertly made and presented. Lovely little place that I'd be happy to go back to.
Just divine!. Yummy desserts, tried the strawberry waffle :) ...Classic, beautiful atmosphere, very friendly staff and the green latte's are delish!! treat yourself to something a little special :)
I had been there for two times. Their honey toast and hot apple tea are really nice! Never disappointed. Is a must to go if you never have honey toast before! :)
Cute store, cute food.. I went to sir on a slow afternoon earlier last week, and it was quite nice.
It kind of reminds me of spats caffe, with the same vibe and same sort of food.
I had the tea and crepe deal for $10.
The tea was nice, but she frothed my soy milk which was just weird.
The crepe was quite tasty and had a pretty little moustache on it which was a nice touch.
The crepe was obviously fresh, it had an odd crispiness on the inside which was a little off putting but tasty all the same.
A nice little venue, though the eftpos machine was broken that day which was annoying but not the end of the world, just had to pull money out next door.
The Fuji Apple tea was excellent. Pistachio creme brûlée was too flat. Good ambiance.
To be honest, I was put off from Sir Cafe since it opened, though I live only a stone's throw away off Rundle Street. First impression reviews on Urbanspoon do make an impact. In the case of Sir Cafe: it wasn't granted justice!
Sir Cafe gives a really cosy and relaxing ambiance the moment one steps in. The playlist of songs was delicately chosen to blend in with the Victorian themed furniture; the overall deco spiced up by a few cool small wall hangings and a seawater fish tank in the corner. This set-up could make the after-work wind-down corner of my dream home.
This was topped off by the dessert and drinks served. The Bailey cheesecake melts in the mouth releasing all the flavours promised. The refreshing Fuji apple tea was perfect to end off a warm day or greasy dinner. And for the record, the prices are similar to other dessert places - only ONE $ (not two!)
I sincerely hope more people frequent Sir Cafe; it'd be such a disappointment to lose a place as such founded on genuine passion.
Awesome dessert and brilliant services. I love the dessert from Sir Cafe and I love the green tea cheesecake that one of my favourite. I cant believe some idiots said the green tea cheesecake is not green tea cheesecake because it used green tea powder. Come on for the sake of God, using the mix of green tea powder did actually give a nice balance of green tea flavour. Hence you can't appreciate the dessert please keep it to yourself and instead destroying people business. Besides, this type of dessert is really famous in Japan and Hong Kong and all green tea cheesecake did use the green tea powder. Besides, I also love the tube and it is actually/orginally a taiwan dessert, therefore it is a new dessert because it is full with ice cream and other little things.
I strongly recommend people to go this dessert cafe and I think the dessert is not overpriced. I can feel the owner had actually put in a lot of effort and passion to the dessert that he/she created. Again, I strongly recommend anyone in Adelaide or people from Interstate/Overseas to go and have a taste of the brilliant dessert.
The decor is very retro, funky. It reminds me of the decor upstairs at The Apothecary. Think lounges, a record playing, quirky tables and mirrors. As we had previously tried visiting on a Saturday night as Facebook showed it being open – we met with a locked door. We later discovered it was closed for renovations. The owner was very gracious and offered us a special discount if we were to come in again. So we could not refuse and went in on Sunday. The owner was very accommodating and made sure we enjoyed ourselves. Here are some pictures: Iced Chocolate Mango Pudding A Mango smoothie I think Honey Toasts are their specialties. I really like Sir Cafe, the dishes are all pretty unique, the service is good and I love the funky decor. If you looking for a late night sugar fix in the city that's on the more quirky side definitely try them out.
Awesome atmosphere, tucked away upstairs on Rundle St.
5 stars ⭐️ for service, 5 stars ⭐️ for location and the flavour of the crepes but we just felt that $14.95 for 1 crepe was a bit steep.
Two crepes at that price would be reasonable.
A secret gem on Rundle Street. This place is your sure fire place to go if you are looking for a dessert place to satisfy your late night cravings (since it is open till midnight!!) For those adventurous dessert goers, you should try the durian honey toast :)
Love this place. Amazing desserts and delicious tea. Fantastic atmosphere and a great place to get you sweet cravings back under control 😝
The environment was pretty cozy and the dessert was too good
I love the durian crepe! Yummy!
