Great atmosphere, has a lot of fun activities for families to do with young kids. You can read a lot about the history of South Australia here as well there are many helpful story boards around. Also a great place to read or study. There's a cute library cafe on the ground floor. Would love to come back and do a full tour next time

It was honestly great working there. It had free wifi, which worked great with my laptop though was a bit weird on my phone. It was pretty quiet but people did come in time to time just to walk around. I will definitely go again.

State library of South Australia has 3 buildings located in the Northern Terrace precinct. The first building (Mechanics Institute) is the oldest one of them. The middle one is the Spence Wing and is the modern one and then there is the historic building “Mortlock wing”which has Harry Potter vibes to it with all the old resources and the books. Mortlock wing also has a lot of information about South Australia which is definitely worth visiting. This library has constantly been voted as one of the most beautiful libraries in the world.

Beautiful and nice library. There’re plenty of study areas and great selection of books. It’s cosy and quiet to sit and read at this place. Absolutely love it.

📚 Really nice library (not that big though...). Good and cozy to study, read or just to relax/slow down. I just hope it will reopen on Sundays and public holidays. The opening hours are also quite limited (it closes quite early).
