Review Rustlers Steakhouse & Grill - Albany

We went on New Year's Eve 2021 and had the most enjoyable meal. Entree was outstanding. Was left wanting more oysters. Both our steaks which were medium, and medium well-done respectively were cooked perfectly. Customer Service was 5 star with a real care taken to make sure we were looked after. Then Albany put on fireworks which started just after we left. What a fantastic end to 2021. Outstanding!

This is an amazing place - one which you MUST visit while in Albany. We had a table with a sea view. All dishes were fantastic. The service was incredibly friendly. And the home made desserts were irresistibly temptatious, which is self-evident from the pics included. Highly recommended!

Good quality food. Prices are a bit steep but overall a great experience. Steak was well cooked but a little chewy in places. Ribs were great but need to be cooked and marinated in the sauce. Not given separately. Get the flavour in it! I'd go back.

Flavour of the New York Steak (Medium) and the Meaty Pork Ribs were both underwhelming for the price, slightly dry as well. We did eat everything, however the service, sides and drinks were all great for the price. Cleanliness was worth noting, as it’s nice to see a clean kitchen with the dining area being thoroughly cleaned between patrons.

Friendly staff and service, very professional waitress who made sure we were taken care of with order and drinks, staff asked us if we were ok and if meals was fine, had desserts and left. Great experience and great location and peaceful setting.

Have to edit my reviews now that I have been to Rustlers on a few separate occasions in my separate trips downsouth and I had varying degree of experience. 1st time I went there for dinner was absolutely amazing! I had sizzling garlic prawns as entree and a very yummy steak, 5-star service and great beer. I hadn't been back to Rustlers since 7 years ago so it's a great feeling to be back again and had the same amazing meals. HOWEVER, a few weeks after that, I went back to Rustlers again on my next trip for a takeaway. I was very excited to tuck in to the same deliciousness...only to be massively disappointed when I opened the packaging to discover a very sad-looking steak. Compare pic 1 with pic 2. I get it that maybe it's a takeaway, but still the meat was very different from the one I had before. The last time I went to Rustlers was just last week for lunch. I actually had a booking that day for dinner as well, but I suddenly had a craving for pork ribs at lunchtime. But unfortunately, I didn't like the pork ribs at all. There's no sauce whatsoever other than what was given in a small container. I was imagining a nice pork ribs dressed in a sweet sticky sauce...but instead it just came looking like a big blob which to be honest, was rather disgusting. See pic 3. Not appetising at all, but since I had to pay for it and I didn't like wasting food, so I tried my best to eat it. At least the meat was soft...but once again, the lack of nice sauce was quite unbearable. After that lunch, I actually felt sick and it totally killed my appetite for eating meat again on that day so I cancelled the dinner. So overall I had to downgrade to 3 stars due to inconsistencies. I so dearly hope I'll have a good dining experience again in my next visit cos I do miss the experience on that 1st dinner. Next time I'll stick to ONLY what I had on that 1st dinner and dining in.

If I want to have a reliably fun and enjoyable experience, I choose Rustlers Albany. Without fail they've had amazing service and food, great drinks and overall must visit whenever possible

How wonderful to experience service how it should be! This restaurant is bucking the Pandemic trend where we no longer expect good old fashioned service! The staff were all very friendly and attentive. Our food came quickly and was delicious. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Our little one was given a great little activity bag which kept her busy. We couldn't be happier and can highly recommend Rustlers to Albany locals and visitors. Well done to the management and staff!

We are travelling around on a bit of a holiday....This restaurant was recommended to us so we thought that out of all the places in Albany to dine, this would have to be the place. The Wait staff were friendly and did a great job serving. They made sure that everything was to our liking. First up we had Garlic Prawns: I am use to my sizzling garlic prawns smothered in garlic butter with small chunks of garlic through the butter that beckons you to try and scoop up the chunks from the bottom of the bowl... sadly there was no garlic to find in the bowl. They tasted like garlic but I missed those pieces of garlic. Next we had seared scallops. I am not sure why they were called seared, they just seemed cooked in a sauce. For mains my husband had Sirloin Steak on Ribs with Peppercorn sauce and a baked potato. He was quite happy with his meal. I ordered Chicked on Ribs with Mushroom sauce and fries. I loved the fries. The mushroom sauce had plenty if mushies in it and was tasty enough . ribs were tasty and tender. The chicken was so dry that I simply couldn't eat it. The Wait Staff were so great that I thought it best to tell them about the chicken. So that they could give feedback to the cook/chef. When paying for our meal I asked the waitress if she had passed my concern on to the chef about the chicken. Apparently thats what you get when you order chargrilled chicken....apparently the chef has no control over how the chicken is cooked on a chargrill and it is usually over cooked because of the cooking method. This was a very dissapointing response from a proffessional cook. Then the waitress light heartedly suggested that maybe I should have ordered steak. Hmmm..... I won't be going out of my way to dine here again. $129 for meals and 2 drinks would be better spent else where. Sorry cook/chef....very dissapointed with your response. If you can't control how your chicken is cooked then take it off the menue.

Every time i go to Rustlers i have a great experience, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is enjoyable and relaxed. I've been as a family, on a date night with hubby, meetings with clients and business catch ups. Its a great place, and the art gallery upstairs is a great place for personal or business functions. Whole heatedly recommend this place for lunch, dinner, pleasure or business. Great work guys!

Wouldnt let me give zero stars. Worst dinning experience ever. Waited 45mins to be told our order was lost...after we enquired what was going on. We then reordered and were told our meals would arrive in 20mins. No offer for complimentary drinks or anything. I asked if we could have a discount and was told "15% discount which is the service charge and thats the best we can do". Not good enough! The waiter returned 10mins later to "double check" our order and yep...it still had not been placed. The waiter came back some time later with free garlic bread (whoopdee f***ing doo). Our meals arrived 25mins after replacing them and the food was revolting! Had better food at Mcdonalds! The food was bland, burnt and inedible. Even the kids nachos were burnt! They took one meal off the bill and 15%. Totally not good enough. Disgusting food and terrible management of the situation by the chef. Worst restaurant food I have had EVER. Will NEVER EVER be returning to Rustlers!

Went to rustlers recently, found the service ok but a lot of people around us seemed to be either getting the wrong meal or unhappy with what they had been served.. Garlic bread was nice, steak was ok,criss cross chips a bit overdone.. Gave it a 3 star review, however was feeling generous. We thought it was a bit overpriced.

Absolutely loved this place. Great food and amazing service. Matt our waiter was the most polite and thoughtful person. He made sure my wine wasn't empty and that our food was at it's best.

The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Service was great. Attention to detail was impressive. The food was awesome with such a varied menu. Unfortunately we didn't have room for desert but will return to try them out. Even the bathroom facilities were immaculate.
