Review Joop Thai - Albany

Fancied some authentic Thai food on a visit from Perth. Thought we would try here. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was nice inside. But the food was quite oily and greasy, even the omelette was dripping in oil. Not very impressed and wouldn't visit again.

Authentic Thai food 😌 Tamarine fish was the best! Green curry chicken was on average. Beef salas was so fresh and tasty. Tom yong was so good. Pad thai was really delicious. 😋

Amazing dinner, friendly staff and the decor was very Thai influenced. Would definitely come back next time we are in Albany.

Joop Thai resturant is one of my favorite places to visit in Albany. The laksa prawn soup was divine! The service was great and the portion size is plentiful. Thank you Joop.

Got takeaway from this restaurant tonight… ordered prawn tom yum soup, prawn pad see ew, Asian greens, and steamed rice. Steamed rice was perfect, the tom yum wasn’t bad… perhaps a tad on the sweet side (personally, I prefer them a bit more on the tangier side). Pad see ew was pretty good… only drawback were the few pieces of green capsicum in it as it seemed a bit unusual and gave the dish a bit of a bitter flavour profile that contradict the rest of dish (It was actually my Aussie wife who pointed the flavour imbalance out to me). Asian greens had good flavours with oyster sauce, but came out a little heavy on the oil. All up, a satisfactory experience… I’d go back again if they agree to exclude the capsicum from the pad see ew. :)

Very poor Thai food. Salty, oily and tough pork. Good sized serves but even the rice was poorly cooked. Nothing like real Thai food. Penang curry tasted just like Masaman, lazy!
