Review Albany Fish & Chips - Albany

Justine Schoene
Imagine the worst driest chips of your life but fluoro yellow. I placed a large order for 8 people and ALL of us left the chips. Pieces of cardboard. The fish was nice but since the chips are half the meal it was ruined. Would never go back here.

Absolutely the best fish and chips I have ever had in 38 years in WA! And being a pom, I have tried them all! Well recommended.

We are from ‘over east’ and we had fish n chips last night in town… which was very nice but a bit expensive. We tried here for lunch today, and it was delicious! The shark/flake was so juicy and much cheaper than where we ate the night before. I’ll be back! Yum. Crab sticks were yummy too.

I was a bit worried when new owners took over because we always thought it was so good before. Today, we had our first order from new owners ......... got to say, you've trumped the previous cooks. Fish (Shark) was absolutely delicious and chips were great. Thank you :)

Worst chips ever. Think the $10 of chips we ordered were cooked in bad oil as they were yuck yellow and yuck flavour. A sprinkle of salt really not enough. The 2 veggie spring rolls made us sick and they were not really spring rolls as they were mushy inside.

Great service and probably the best fish and chips in the southern hemisphere. Make sure you visit.

Fast service but the food isn’t great. Not sure why there are so many high reviews... we got a fisherman’s basket and everything was over cooked, oily and super salty. This is the chips I could not eat. They taste like old oil. There was also more batter than meat in most things. I REALLY wanted this place to be good as it’s conveniently located, but really disappointed in the quality. They get the extra star for fast service!

Fish and chip shops in Albany struggle to cook nice chips. Fishermans basket had too much batter. Good customer service, clean well located premises. Can do better.

I've been getting my fish and chips from here for years - for one reason. They're great fish and chips. The chips are hot, crunchy and not oily or greasy, likewise the fish. It presents as an honest, no-frills, old-fashioned fish and chip shop. "Lah-de-dah" is served elsewhere in Albany, but not here. I've sampled most of the other, newer fish and chip places in town, but I'm happy to keep coming back here.

Came and ordered some take away fish and chips, found it a bit strange that in the seafood platter they have only one of everything and they didn't have an option for a share platter which was slightly disappointing. Everything was deep fried but tasted nice. A little bit pricey for fish and chips I felt.

Fish is ok. Chips a bit to.... Fish is ok.
Chips a bit too rocky.
Mushy peas... Disastrous. It is not mushy.
No lemon slices were given.
Friendly team.
