Huuuuuge place on the water next to the Faux Opera House aka Albany Entertainment Centre.
Me: LLB to drink was excellent. The King George Whiting grilled, chips and salad. Ginormous plate with right portion of fish, real chips and lovely garden salad.
Partner: Her favourite go to food Mussels in a spicy tomato broth!
No there long, just scoff and go. But very enjoyable as you can eat there all day.
Had the pizza specials on the weekday for $10. Really great for what you get, not to mention the amazing view and the gorgeous venue. Will stop by again if we go to Albany
The kitchen is open all day which is fabulous! We had amazing chili mussels, and a calamari salad which came in around the $50 mark, plus two rounds of drinks. There was a great selection of great southern wines to chose from, and the meals showcased local seafood.
We were really impressed with our meals.
The atmosphere isn’t the best, it’s like a big barn so noise and temperature control is hard to get right. Friendly staff a bonus and an amazing view. Would highly recommend for group or casual dining.
We had driven from Perth to Albany and just needed a good, easy meal. Due South had a good rating on several sites. We arrived to find easy parking. The staff were all exceedingly friendly and helpful. We were excited that it really was all about promoting local produce. We were doubly excited that there was a Cellarbrations attached so we could take wine back to our hotel. We have been in WA for 5 days and this was easily the best restaurant experience and best value experience that we have had. The housemade charcuterie plate was delicious and had a great selection of meats. It also came with ample bread. The fish of the day came with a well cooked large piece of fish, lots of good chips and half the plate was a nicely dressed salad. I saw the steaks come out to other tables - if you need a steak have it here - huge! The staff in the bottle shop were also extremely helpful in advising on good wineries to visit in the region and some good bottles to drink now.
The funky shape of the building, the bold walls, and the gorgeous views provided for a wonderful photographic experience before we sat down to enjoy some snacks and live music. I loved the upbeat, classic rock vibe of the band while sipping on my cloudy cider (Ryan, on his soy mocha) as we waited for our food. There was a decent turnout for a Sunday night, but it was a holiday weekend. We ordered the chips, which were delicious, crispy and hand-cut, along with the chicken wings. We opted for the BBQ sauce for the wings and loved the flavour and how crispy the chicken was. True to stereotype, this midwest american born girl, loves corn… so I had to try the corn on the cob special; which was corn covered in a chipotle sour cream, parmesan and coriander (cilantro). The corn was an Aussie attempt at Mexican street corn, but it worked. I enjoyed the flavour, I just found the corn to be a bit overcooked. As the sun set down over the horizon, we had to agree that Due South was a great spot to spend our last night in Albany.
Incredible faultless meal obviously cooked by passionate skilled chefs! We shared the local caught squid with kimchi coleslaw for entree, squid was certainly fresh and tender, perfectly cooked. Lovely seasoning. Kimchi coleslaw was alright. Not exactly kimchi style. Was fresh wombok, carrot, kohlrabi, spring onion, mayo and sriracha sauce possibly? Was okay but not ground breaking. I had the dry aged 500g rib eye on the bone with potato pave, celariac remolade, jus & condiments. Perfectly cooked tender steak! I wouldn't say it's a 45 day dry aged steak as advertised (not enough funky dry aged taste for me makes me question the 45 day statement) all seasoned to perfection. Potato pave was delicious, celariac remolade perfect! Jus not over reduced was delicious! Mrs had the rump steak with house made chips and salad which she thoroughly enjoyed. Daughter had the cheese burger which was equally enjoyed but a little overpowering with the amount of mustard. (More of a personal preference) fantastic meal would not hesitate recommending or going back again. About time we found some quality food!
Our favourite place in Albany to dine. Fantastic service and food. Views across the lake are amazing and worth seeing the sunset on the jetty outside. A must to tourists visiting albany especially for an early dinner to see the sunset, boats, amazing view of the city and views of the wind farm.
Such an amazing place. We went there twice on the same long weekend for dinner and considering that it was 3 of us, 6 different dishes and all were so good!!
The curry is out of this world, the pulled pork was super good, the pasta with mussels was amazing... the squid was very tasty... the prices are acceptable considering the great flavours and variety.
The service is good and food comes out quickly. This is despite the many tables busy and is such a large place!
One of the few places I have visited: good food, good service and good value!
I'd read mixed reviews so didn't have high expectations but was pleasantly surprised by the decent food and really prompt and helpful service here. We had pizza, bangers and mash and a steak sandwich. The steak was a little tough, but the sandwich was good and chips were lovely. Pizza was tasty and bagels and mash portions were huge and delicious. This pub is huge but the wait staff were doing a great job on a busy sat night. Would definitely go again.
Large venue definitely set up as a tavern not dissimilar feel to Little Creatures in Perth. Extensive menu for food and drinks - settled for a couple of share plates both substantial servings. The humous plate was a standout for this type of dish served as a salad with the chick peas on the base, edible flowers, mixed sprouts and deep fried chick peas! The charcuterie plate had a great mix of smoked local meats and pickles. Minor suggestion replace the plastic tub containing the pickles with a glass/ceramic bowl!
Giving this a high rating for a pub venue. Pleasantly surprised about this place as it was one of the few places we could get a table on Easter Saturday. The ambience of the place isn't particularly great as it is more like a food hall but the service and quality of the food was excellent, particularly given how busy they were. All of our dishes were cooked perfectly; quite unexpected for a venue of this type. Kudos to the staff.
Food was excellent, service was mint. Ambience is amazing inside and out, staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Would come every week if we weren't from out of town!!!
Came for Sunday sesh, fantastic music. Food was late (fried gnocchi) but we were offered a free drink because of it. Impressed with food and service.
Delicious food at a reasonable price, friendly service and a great view. This place has plenty going for it! We can't come to Albany without stopping in for a meal. Giving these guys a top rating!
Spacious, nice environment, nice view. $12 chili dog with cheese sauce on top. Grilled homemade sausage, really juicy. Cheese inside the sausage as well. Using real chili chutney, not fake chili paste. Good presentation of half the dozen of oyster. The foam below the oyster is made up of water and sea salt. It is really salty foam. However, the lemon stuck to the foam become really salty, so as the oysters.

There are plenty of fine eateries in Albany but one that has brought us back a few times is Due South right on the Albany Port. It’s an amazing building with perfect views overlooking the estuary.
Burger and bangers and mash were very nice. Homemade chips were amazing. Although, ordering food was an ordeal - poorly trained staff didn't know how to use the tills - we couldn't get our beer of choice as she didn't know how to process it! Will go back - but I hope the service improves!
Great Vibe & Food. Went here with Family for lunch it is a vibrant modern pub in a Gr8 location on the water but the food was well above average the ribs were extremely tasty and the menu had enough variation for all 4 meals and everyone was grinning
We booked a table for 10 here for lunch on 28/12. Service, food and beer all great. Ribs very tasty, though not a generous serve. King George whiting was outstanding.
Would go again and recommend.
Good food, friendly staffs, and fun ambience. Best to be here with friends and watch your fav. team on TV. Love their chicken wings and special shout out for the chicken parfait 🙂 will come back for these! and definitely try another on the menu list.
Friendly staff, massive building that gives a very pleasant atmosphere.
The views from the outdoors are amazing, especially with the sunset.
Had the mussels and they're pretty hot 🥵
The sides are quite big, suitable for 2.
Fresh tasty pub food, reasonably quick service despite being told on arrival that they were understaffed. Well done! Will definitely come back again.
The food here is so good. This has to be the most pleasing informal pub dining I have had in years. The food is so well priced and the staff is absolutely lovely. 100% would recommend you to try if you're in the area, the creme brulee is stunning
Idk why there are bad reviews on their food, all the dishes we ordered were great. We came here a year ago and was good back then, planning to visit again on the next holidays.
