If you’re up for some amazing coffee, this is the place to be.
If you’re up for some delicious and unique flavours, this is also the place to be! We tried their burrito and Baghdad eggs, and while both are enjoyable, I believe the Baghdad eggs deserves a shout out! It’s definitely something else. Unique flavours and you can’t get them anywhere else! So pop by The Guilty Moose today and don’t forget to order yourself one!

We hardly wander over this side of the town much, thought we'd break our routine and check out some brunch spots once in a while and we were glad we did.
We had the black pudding and also the baghdad eggs, both were nicely done and hit the spot. Coffee was pretty good too. Would definitely come back and try their other dishes next time we're in the area.

This cafe is nowhere near where I live but we were in the area and I can honestly say I would happily travel to return to this cafe repeatedly. The menu is amazing, the coffee was great, the seating options (out the front, inside or courtyard) are lovely and then the actual taste of my food was divine. I ordered the Baghdad Eggs and it had so much flavour. Can’t wait to go back!

Perfect weekend brunch! We loved this cute cosy cafe. We sat in the relaxing courtyard to have our weekend brunch.

What we had...

Slow cooked lamb brink
We had the Slow cooked lamb brink which was delicious and pulled apart. It was on a bed of middle eastern inspired salad and sweet pickled turnips.

Falafel salad
The falafel salad was fresh with delicious falafels that weren’t too dry. It was the most refreshing dish.

Wassup Doc?
They have taken the classic French toast to a new level here! With carrot cake inspired brioche topped with liquid cheese, shredded carrots, and walnut and rye crumble.

I was excited by the menu at The Guilty Moose and it did not disappoint. I love an all-day breakfast menu! The All Mushy and Stuff with a poached egg was a great choice - strong garlic flavour on the perfectly cooked mushies and crispy kale chips on top was the highlight. We also had the Oat Porridge (vegan version) - super creamy, not too sweet and beautiful fruit compote and fresh fruit on top. We couldn't go past the Wassup Doc? Carrot cake french toast. Again, not too sweet, incredible spices and the bread was brioche, so you can imagine how delicious this was. I usually love a savoury breakfast, so we shared the french toast as well. The Summer Fresher juice tastes like sunshine. Great service, our waitress was really helpful and it was a cozy spot on a rainy day in Melbourne. We would definitely visit this place again.

We visited the guilty moose today on a wet and dreary day in Melbourne! We were greeted with lovely staff and delicious coffee! We ordered the oats (made vegan), the getting all mushy & the carrot cake French toast! All of which were amazing and beautifully presented! We loved how many options there were on the menu for all dietary requirements! Would definitely visit again!

Guilty Moose is located conveniently beside a tram stop, making it very easily to navigate to.

We tried the following dishes:

🍞 “Wassup Doc" - Which is a carrot cake brioche french toast. I'm not really a carrot cake person so I was a little skeptical at first but it was surprised by how delicious it was. It's actually my favourite dish out of the ones we had. It was topped with liquid cheesecake and sprinkled with spiced carrots. Crispy on the outside and soft as a pillow on the inside.

🌯 “The flying burrito brothers” - is a breakfast burrito containing scrambled egg, salsa, spiced rice and cheese. I love the cheese, and it comes in halves which makes it easy to share between two people. It was served with an entire bottle of Jalapeno sauce.

🍖 “Pressed Lamb Brik” - The lamb was literally served in the shape of a brick! We really enjoyed this one as well. Very tasty!

🥤 We also tried two of their smoothies: Daily Fix and Vital Elixir. I personally preferred the daily fix but they are both really refreshing!

The icon in Albert Park, this amazing brunch spot has been serving up amazing breakfast and lunch to the locals for many years now.

If there is one thing you should order it has to be the Baghdad Eggs, as you can never get this from anywhere else. The dish was so unique and tasted so good. Could not fault anything as every element brought the dish really well together.

We had the mushroom dish (Getting all mushy and stuff) and it was perfect as it had a generous amount of mushrooms on toast and we added in poached egg to bring the dish to another level.

For something sweet, we went with wassup doc? Which is a lovely carrot cake brioche french toast with a liquid cheesecake, walnut and rye crumble and spiced carrot. Loved how fluffy the french toast was and the dish was not overly sweet.

For drinks we had the juices and they were really nice and refreshing. The staff was lovely and the decor of the cafe was really nice and rustic. Will definitely be back for thos Baghdad Eggs

Was able to try the new Spring menu the other day and I really enjoyed it. We were seated in the courtyard and it was such a peaceful environment. We ordered the breakfast burritos, the lamb and also the carrot cake.
- The carrot cake was super delicious, the base is actually a brioche texture- similar to a croissant, and the icing on top as well as the carrot puree was such a good combination.
- The lamb was quite tender and the beetroot was a nice fresh addition.
- The buritto was a classic brekky burrito- very big and filling.

Definitely need to go back

A slightly rustic café near the bayside in Port Melbourne/Albert Park area

A slightly smaller & more intimate inside dining area. My favourite part about the atmosphere of this café was the gorgeous courtyard out the back. It had multiple tables & so many succulents around each of them!

DRINKS
Almond Matcha Latte: I really enjoyed this matcha which was presented beautifully. I sometimes find that the green tea flavour can be too overwhelming for me, but this latte was the perfect balance

FOOD
Chicken Ragout: A lovely chicken gnocchi that wasn’t too rich, but full of flavour. The gnocchi itself had a slight chew to it which I liked
Falafel Salad: My friend had this dish, and I had a bite of the falafel which was crunchy and flavoursome
Wasup Doc: A ‘carrot cake’ brioche French toast that was next level! I liked how there was a slightly savoury puree of carrot which helped cut through the richness of the liquid cheesecake on top. The brioche was nice and fluffy, and covered in a slightly crispy crust

The staff were very attentive & welcoming. The food came out in great time with no issues at all

Carrot cake french toast!!! 😭❤️ And also, yes, it’s as amazing as it sounds already 🤤

FOOD: I got the ‘Wassup Doc?’ which is a carrot cake french toast and if you look carrot cake or just french toast in general, you’ve hit the jackpot. The french toast itself was done to PERFECTION, so the carrot cake part is probably the cream cheese and actual carrots on top but the french toast itself is soft and fluffy but also moist at the same time! The dish was done to absolute perfection and it wasn’t too sweet which I definitely appreciated ❤️

SERVICE: Service was pleasant!

The Guilty Moose is clearly a local favourite because when I walked in, it was packed to the brim and I can see why 🤤 The coffee is definitely something to shout about and I absolutely LOVE it. Definitely an amazing cafe!!

What a deliciously different find!

📍Only a short walk from the water, this Port Melbourne brunch spot has definitely left me impressed!
There is various on street parking options, but just keep an eye out for the signs. I visited on a Sunday so the parking was very relaxed.

🔅 The café really ticks off everything in way of café environments. If you like to sit out the front and watch the cars and people pass, TGM has it. If you like to be indoors and stay cosy, TGM absolutely has this! The combination with the interior lighting and wooden furniture, really sticks with the theme and oozes calm and comfort. If you still haven’t heard the area for you, then listen up – because TGM has a courtyard and it is fantastic. A great space with a range of seating options and tables to continue catering for everyone.

🌟What stood out to me most at The Guilty Moose is their menu. I absolutely love brunch. I absolutely love the traditional options. However, I do love to see a café change things up and really stand out through their different menu options. TGM have so many options that all sounded inventive, creative and deliciously different. I found it really challenging to decide what to order. We did finally decide on:

🍽Apollonia 6 (V) $17.5
💬You really can’t visit The Guilty Moose without trying their Apple Pie Spring Roll creation. I don’t think any more needs to be said here! Different, delicious, unmissable.

🍽Baghdad Eggs (V, GFO) $18
💬Another really different brunch option that I really loved. Pita bread topped with fried eggs, spices, vegetables and delicious sauces.

🍽Beef Cheek $21.5
💬I was so thankful that we had arrived after 11:30am, as we could also order from The Guilty Moose’s lunch menu. It may only have a few options on it, but they all sounded absolutely mouthwatering. The Beef Cheek Pappardelle did not disappoint. It was fantastic and my favourite dish of the day!

💚Creative & Different Menu Options
💚Seriously Delicious Food
💚Friendly Team
💚Cosy Courtyard Out The Back
💚Free On Street Parking Available *depending on day*

I thought for the longest time that The Guilty Moose was called The Guilty Goose, and couldn’t understand what the goose did wrong. But now my new question has become – what did the moose do to feel so guilty about?!. Animal questions aside, The Guilty Moose is a quint little neighbourhood cafe located in Albert Park, with a fun menu and a cute courtyard to boost.

Had an amazing time at the guilty moose the other day. I felt spoilt for choices with all the incredible options. Finally decided to get a balance of sweet and savoury options.
My favourite was the hong kong phooey, it was so warm and soothing..perfect for a chilly day. Also loved the ginger bread french toast..as it had some really different flavours and was not a usual chocolate french toast that most cafes have these days.
The ambiance and the staff was top notch, would definitely come back to try more items off the menu.

The Guilty Moose is a great cafe located in Albert Park and we had an amazing brunch experience there.
*Location: Easy to get there by car or tram, it is not too far from the city.
*Ambience: The decoration is beautiful, you can find a moose clock on the wall and there is an amazing courtyard outside.
*Service: The staff was very friendly and happy to help with anything you need.
*Food: The people's favourite is the apple pie spring roll served with ice cream, but we had the ginger spiced brioche french toast and it was amazing, it comes with red wine poached pears, butterscotch sauce and creme fraiche. The colourful lattes are a must try too, we had marcha, turmeric and beetroot.
*Price: The portions are very well served and one dish should be enough for one person, unless you wanna maybe share something sweet later, what I highly recommend you do.

The Guilty Moose is a beautiful beachside brunch spot in the lovely suburb of Albert Park, a stone’s away from the lapping waters of St Kilda beach. With an open, green outdoors area that is guaranteed to be a hit in summer, The Guilty Moose also features some of the most unique brunch dishes drawing inspiration from Asian to Middle-Eastern influences that will certainly leaves an impression in the Melbourne cafe scene!

This cafe is out of the main strip of Albert Park and has a nice, cosy feel to it. The food is rustic in a sense, yet nicely composed and contemporary enough to meet Melbourne cafe standards. There are quite a few tasty vegetarian options including the really well flavoured mushrooms on toast and the surprisingly delicious and filling cheesy cauliflower rice and quinoa. I don't usually go for sweet brunch dishes but they really shine at The Guilty Moose. The apple pie spring roll looks cool and tastes good, but the spiced gingerbread french toast with quince was my absolute favourite dish. The granola is a bit too candied for my taste but also pretty good. I loved the look of all the superfood lattes although I didn't try any, but my soy coffee was really nice. When the weather warms up, I suggest sitting out in the pleasant back courtyard. ☀️

What did the poor moose do to feel guilty? It's got everything going right for it - gorgeous courtyard, friendly service and delectable food. It should be proud of itself.

We came as a group of 6 so we managed to indulged in a number of dishes, and all of them hit the spot. The Instagram famous apple pie spring roll was just as delicious as I imagined it would be. Chunks of lightly spiced apples were encased in a flaky pastry, and the creamy custard and crunchy walnuts provided the textural elements took this dish to another level of yum.

Not to be missed is also the Gingerbread French Toast. Another dish that was beautifully spiced and full of autumn-ish flavours. The soft and fluffy bread soaked up all the richness of the butterscotch sauce, making this dish perfect for any sweet tooth out there.

The savoury were just as tasty as the sweet dishes. The congee with the cute name of Hong Kong Phooey was a hearty and comforting dish that warmed me right up, and the roasted mushrooms was a gorgeous dish filled with earthy and nutty flavours. Even the simple cauliflower rice was an explosion of flavours, unsurprisingly since it came with cream cheese and smoked almonds.

Our coffees, and non coffees such as the matcha latte, beetroot latte and turmeric latte, were just as satisfying as the food. An all round amazing cafe that everyone needs to try out. Thank you for hosting us.

We had a lovely experience at The Guilty Moose on a sunny Friday arvo! The courtyard was the perfect spot to sit ;)

It was great to see lots of vegan options on the menu! I tried a yummy DETOX juice, along with the Mushrooms, Falafel Salad, and the Porridge.

The mushroom dish had a GENEROUS serving of mushrooms, which was amazing hehe. The crispy kale served with it was DIVINE. Would definitely recommend this dish!
I loved that the porridge was served with lots of caramelized fruit throughout. The flavours were great!
The falafel salad was good too. A nice healthy option ;)

The team is super friendly too. Henry will look after you!

The breakfast here is not your ordinary brunch which i love. There are a good selection of asian inspired and western dishes.

Highlights: apple pie spring roll were amazing, crispy and flavour was on point. The soup of the day was tomato soup, which was thick and flavoursome which came with a nice buttery toast. The congee was just the best, perfect for winter. I also loved the scrambled egg mcmuffin with light and fluffy eggs inside.

A highly recommended cafe and will definitely be back!

Beef cheek was cooked perfectly and I really enjoyed the dish.
The burger was great and came with chips of course :)
Coffee was good!

We had visited The Guilty Moose for lunch and here’s what we ordered!

Beef cheek pappardelle - this dish was pretty tasty with the braised beef cheek being marinated well! The pappardelle was cooked well and had absorbed the flavors of the red wine and beef juices!

Everything’s gone pear shaped - ginger bread spiced brioche French toast, red wine poached pear, butterscotch sauce and creme fraiche! The brioche was super soft and fluffy! I was a bit weary of the ginger taste but it was surprisingly good as it was not overpowering and gave a nice tanginess to this!

Apollonia 6 - apple pie spring role with apple, raisin salad, walnut, custard and vanilla ice cream! Not only was this a unique dish but it was super yummy as well! The apple pie was truly an apple delight! Baked to perfection, the spring roll was crumbly and inside was full of yummy goodness! The vanilla ice cream was like an icing to it hence making it my fave sweet dish for the day!

Hong Kong phooey - rice congee, shredded chicken, soft egg, spring onion, ginger, fried wonton skin, peanuts, chili, fried shallots served with xo sauce! You could tell that a lot of effort went into this given the ingredients listed! My experience with porridge has usually been bland but this genuinely surprised me as you could actually taste all the flavors mixed into one! The wonton skins were the highlight of this as it gave an extra crunch!

We were very impressed with the quality of food served to us and would visit again to try the rest of their menu!

Great strong coffee. Scramble was buttery. Salmon was a little strong/fishy tasting (we've had better salmon from here before). The muffin was not our first choice but was the only one left. It was surprisingly warm, fresh and popping with the orange flavour. The seating inside was cosy and warm. The tables are a little small. On a nice day, the outside tables would be ideal.

📝: Shout out to this amazing, humble little cafe in Albert Park. Though the place may seem small from the outside, but you’ll discover a spacious, homey area as you walk in and through to the cute courtyard.

With a talented chef from one of Melbourne’s best restaurants, Guilty Moose serves up various innovative brunch dishes presented in a creative way.
.
❤️: Seriously loved every we got, especially that Apollonia. Apple pie 🍎, in the form of a perfectly crispy spring roll, with apple & raisin salad and ice cream 🍦 to lighten it up. New presentation yet retaining the classic elements.

My personal favorite was the Baghdad Eggs 🍳, which has been the best-selling menu for over two years. Fried eggs with harissa and spices 🌶 on pita bread. Have you really visited Guilty Moose if you hadn’t ordered this dish?! NO!

Then that decadent Everything’s Gone Pear Shaped 🍐 French Toast 🍞. It was really good, a rich dessert, but a little too heavy for me to conquer 😂.

I was so excited to visit The Guilty Moose which is conveniently located right in front of the tram stop, near the beach.

It’s a very cute and cosy little place. There’s a lovely courtyard at the back too, and the owners were so kind to turn on a portable heater for us.

I was very intrigued by the menu here. Their options are so unique and unlike anything I’ve seen before. The chef is incredibly talented! You won’t find your ordinary cafe ‘benedict’ here, but instead introduced to creations that have a fusion of Middle Eastern and Asian influence.

After a long look at the menu, we finally decided on the ‘Everything’s Gone Pear Shaped’, ‘Apollonia’ and ‘Baghdad Eggs’ (how fun are the names!).

The Baghdad Eggs are their signature dish, and it was definitely the highlight of the day! A thin base of soft pita bread, slathered with smoked eggplant and topped with three perfectly fried eggs. Every bite was a flavour bomb! The pita had just the right bite to it and went so well with the creamy eggplant and runny yolk. This is definitely a must try!

The French Toast was almost too pretty to eat! The gingerbread spices weren’t too overpowering which I liked. And the poached pear was so soft and added a light refreshing element to the dish. The butterscotch sauce was very sweet but it was balanced with the creme fraiche.

Finally, the Apollonia - one of my favourite brunch desserts! It’s basically an Apple Pie encased in a crispy spring roll. It’s served warm, with a scoop of ice cream on the side - the best combination! The dish is very light, and not too sweet, which I really enjoyed! Definitely worth trying!

We also had the Summer Fresher juice and the Vital Elixir smoothie, which were both light, fruity and delicious!

Overall, we had an incredible time at The Guilty Moose. I would highly recommend everyone to check it out - you won’t be disappointed!

It was a gorgeous winter day in Melbourne, we had just finished Ikea shopping and headed over to this cafe which isn’t far via car or public transport. We were greeted by lovely staff, who helped us find the seating outside in the courtyard easily.

The outside courtyard is very humble, and dog friendly! So got to pat a lot of doggies!

We ordered their famous Apple Pie Spring Roll. This is not an understatement IT WAS FREAKING DELISH! Now if you’re not a heavily sweet tooth, my partner isn’t one either but he really was surprised by how good this was.

The Slinging Hash, wasn’t what I expected. I expected a hash brown but they had individual bits of potato, and it was absolutely fantastic. Wasn’t a fan of the egg (but that’s just me cos im a weirdo) but wow, it was really tasty!

My partner had the Moose burger, he wolfed it down and was very satisfied.

Overall experience was lovely. Friendly staff, great environment and good food!

You won’t feel guilty (see what I did there) visiting!

This cute little cafe in Albert park has simple dishes beautifully executed - fantastic flavours and incredible dish names! My two highlights were the “Big Trouble in Little China” - I didn’t realise fried eggs, oyster sauce and fresh chilli were the perfect combination! And “Apollonia” - an apple spring roll - what a great fusion dish! I’ll have to come back to sample more of these dishes! Put it on the list brunch kids!

We had a great time at the guilty moose. The café has excellent latte. I believe they used st. ali beans. It wasn’t too bitter or too milky.
We ordered 3 mains. The Baghdad eggs as their most famous dish and it certainly met the expectation. The dish was nicely presented and the taste was interesting. However, I think it will be best suited as a dish to share rather than to eat alone as the taste can get overwhelming to finish alone.
Our favourite was the “Getting all mushy and stuff” The mushroom was nicely seasoned and the texture complimented the toast really well.
To finish off, we had the “everything’s gone pear shaped”, which is their take on French toast. The dish was a little bit on the sweet side but it has great texture combination. They certainly put a lot of thoughts into the dish!

I was fortunate enough to be invited to this cafe to try their winter menu and as I haven't been here for a long time was pretty excited.

I initially ordered a strong skinny latte and it was really good. It had a nice flavour and it wasn't bitter or too hot! Tick tick lol

It was a cold day so ordered the Hong Kong
Phooey (what a great name hahaha) and it was rice congee w shredded chicken, a good amount of ginger which was perfect for me, shallots, a perfectly cooked poached egg, fried wonton skin, peanuts and a small hint of chilli! Phew there was a lot that went into that dish.

For me that was perfect, it was Mv without being heavy and it was a great gluten free brunch.

I also tried a green juice which was apple, lemon, spinach and celery which was absolutely amazing!

It was the perfect drink to enjoy as a pick me up.

Dining with Chronicles of Nardia she ordered the "Everything's gone pear shaped"which was ginger bread spiced brioche fresh toast, w red wine poached pear, buttermilk sauce and creme fraiche to cut through the sweetness of this dish. In fact if your a sweet tooth then this is the dish for you lol.

I tried some of this dish and it was full of ginger warmth, and sweetness and homey and all things nice that you'd hope for on a winters day.

This cafe has very easy parking and it's a cafe that's deffinitely worth a visit.

I went here with a couple of friends. I had some bacon and eggs, which were good. Crispy bacon and poached eggs on gluten free grain bread yummm haha

The coffee was alright and the service was really it good, albeit a bit slow waiting for the food to come I.e about half an hour given that the place seemed relatively quiet.

My friends had salads, and they seem to enjoy themselves too. Parking was easy, right out the front.

Happy days :)

4.5 stars ⭐️ I really enjoyed my brunch here the other day. The staff were so friendly to kiddos and the coffee was nice. But the highlights are their brekkie, which is slightly different from the usual fare.

Hubby got the burrito which comes with a whole bottle of hot sauce. Inside there are eggs, beans, rice and I think a bit of jalapeños which my younger one loved surprisingly.

I had the Baghdad eggs which is fried eggs on flat bread with harissa and dollops of Smokey eggplant dip. It looks amazing but tasted even better

my eldest enjoyed his fried eggs on toast, and scoffed down the smashed avo and spinach.

All in all a great breakkie on a lazy weekend.

A great addition to Albert Park! This cafe has a lovely decor inside and leads into a spacious courtyard, perfect for any occasion. The staff are very friendly and service is timely. And the food is amaaaaazing. Their menu is seasonal and will keep you going back for more.
We’ve tried:
- lamb meatballs with zucchini and ricotta salad on pita bread - so yummyyy
- ox tongue special - such a difficult meat to get right and these guys hit a homerun
- ‘macho man’ sandwich of pork&fennel sausage, bacon, English muffin with awesomesauce
- beef burger with the lot which was very juicy and was slightly burnt on the sides with added yummy charcoal flavour
- ‘getting all mushy and stuff’ roasted mushrooms with whipped feta on sourdough - so simple yet mindblowingly good
- ‘flying burrito brothers’ - one of the best breakfast burritos ever
A delicious brunch indeed spot, which is a breath of fresh air amongst the other brunch spots in Melbourne who serves good but same same food.

Excellent spot in an area littered with sub standard offerings. The Guilty Moose looks tiny but plenty of seating tucked away inside and seating for about another 20 in the rear courtyard. 3/4 Latte I had was near perfect. I didn’t notice the beans they were using but St Davids Dairy for the milk which scores extra points from me and one of the best egg and bacon sandwiches I’ve ever had. Noice!

The guilty moose is a well established cafe on Victoria St, Albert Park. I came here for a coffee and muffin on the way to work. There was a line out the door with people ordering takeaway coffees! I waited in line, ordered and and waited again for my coffee. Service was quick considering it was so busy. Coffee was good and the muffin was a large.

Nice little cafe on the no.1 tram route. We had a little booth seat. The menu was interesting with fun quirky names, like it has food inspired by many countries. The drinks arrived quick enough but it took a while for the food. It was very tasty and felt healthy too. I really like the crispy kale in the "Getting All Mushy And Stuff" dish.

Only a short walk from the beach sits The Guilty Moose, your one stop café for all things delicious! Their beautiful courtyard will have you feeling lazy as you won’t want to move, you will want to sit there all day drinking coffee and tasting different dishes on their menu. There isn’t much parking in the area. Most of it is in a one-hour parking zone, so be sure to keep an eye on the time to avoid getting a parking fine.

Now it’s safe to say that we’ve been to our fair share of cafes in Melbourne, some good, some average, and now The Guilty Moose Cafe… How there wasn’t a line out the door of people waiting to be seated is beyond me. Located in the quiet corner of Albert Park, the team behind this cafe have gotten every element perfect.

Fantastic coffee, amazing food, and even better staff! I love the Guilty Moose; the whole atmosphere of the place makes it the best cafe in Albert Park. They have so many vegetarian options, and having tried most of them, I can't even pick a favourite. I've never had a bad experience here; thank you for existing!

Why is it that all the best cafes in Melbourne seem to only have a handful of seats! But if you’re okay to share a table with other food lovers, the guilty moose is defiantly worth adding to the breakfast bucket list. The Guilty Moose is located in Albert Park, only minutes’ walk from the beach, perfect for an after breakfast/lunch stroll.  see more at melbourneveg0.wordpress.com

Great find! Nice ambience. Service was friendly & attentive. We tried their Moose Burger, Corned Beef, Macho Man Sandwich & Rice Bowl of the day which was a Korean pork & kimchi rice bowl. All yum! Also ordered a separate bowl of chips which was a tad too salty but otherwise golden & crunchy. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic new comer to Albert Park. I enjoyed brekkie here the other day so much that I had to come back to do it again the following morning.
Some really nicely finished Melbourne cafe classics here. The flavours though are well above the average, taking dishes to the next level. Great coffee and good service. Plenty of tables in or out the back in the covered court yard. Sure to get busy during the weekend brunch rush but well worth a try.

Delicious food in a funky, contemporary setting. Staff are very friendly and coffee is superb! My only drawback in the last time I brunches there was that while sitting outside, I saw 3 different waitresses pick up and pat some dogs in the outdoor back area before serving other people, which was a bit of a put-off.

The Guilty Moose, great name and a great menu! Located in the gorgeous Albert Park, we couldn't have picked a better place for brunch. The sun was shining and the café was thriving with a buzz...

I ordered the Breakfast of Champignons which wasn't the best dish I could have ordered unfortunately. While the mushrooms were delicious that was all I could find on my plate. My wife and friends ordered much better dishes with eggs running around the plate and heavily packed with greens! The coffee is heavenly though.

I would highly recommend this place for a nice brunch next to a quiet little beach!

I feel like I'm settling back into brunch mode again, after so long! Our most recent excursion brought us to The Guilty Moose in Albert Park which was an unexpected but lovely discovery. It's been so long since I last had a chai latte I almost forgot how much I love its aromatic smell and taste. . Hubby ordered a jungle juice which was basically a mix of everything. We were quite disappointed though, as we could really only taste carrot and not much else.

Great fit-out, friendly staff, quick service and good coffee, although I'd love to see a cold drip option on the menu for hot days. The cauliflower cheese is the standout menu item, but if you ever get sick of that (which is hugely unlikely) there are plenty more options to choose from. Portion sizes are nice and big, too.

Found this place around a month ago and has been going back twice. Food was inventive. It was different and it tasted amazing. If you are bored of all the usual breakie this is the place to go! It has a cure backyard in the back and my dogs are welcome there with love. Will be returning times and times again!

If you bringing you dogs along you will have to enter at the rear end.

Good coffee is about knowing what temperature each type of coffee should be served at in the first place - Getting the blend of beans just right, and not stuffing it all up by setting the grinder incorrectly - making sure the heating, final temperature  and pouring of the milk is spot on - and finally, cleanliness - making sure the hipster serving you washed the aftershave off his hands first and don't put your fingers directly into the cup before you pour it - The Guilty Moose understands all this and serves up good coffee. The breakfast is also plentiful and tasty.

Our new favourite local cafe. After trying most of the plentiful cafes around Albert park it is hard to go back to any of them now that we have discovered the guilty moose. Setting cosy, service exceptional (am greeted by name - a testament to how often we go!) and food amazing. Am not a coffee drinker but my husband who rates himself as a bit of a coffee connoisseur thinks it is the best coffee in area. I can't go past the prana chai lattes. Highly recommend.

I’m three, no … four brand new breakfasts behind in posting, so I really need to catch up some before I’m allowed to take Blackburn J out again – so here goes: The Guilty Moose It’s extra-cute, new(ish) and has an intriguing name. The Guilty Moose is well worth a visit. Plus it’s in Albert Park where I always enjoy strolling around pretending I’m a millionaire and own one of the tiny tiny but so pretty Victorian terraces that make up so much of the suburb. Know about the Guilty Moose? Me neither, but they have a website HERE . Inside is small, quirky and fun and if you press on through you find a dear little courtyard for the nicer days. I chose a not so nice day, but enjoyed perching at the bench along the front window, watching the world according to Albert Park, Victoria Street. It’s always fun watching cold, wet people while comfy and dry with a nice flat white. The coffee is great and prepared by cool dudes that know what they are doing. I ended up having three because they were excellent, and also because it was now seriously pissing down so I needed to hunker down waiting for the right moment to emerge. What I ordered was really really good and definitely a change up from the usual offerings.  I had something called Okonomiyaki, which according to the menu is a Japanese-style pancake with smoked ocean trout, watercress salad, otofuko mayo, fennel, spring onion and a perfectly poached egg. The flavours are sensational and the salad is dressed to have a sharpness against the trout and the mayo, the savoury pancake is wafer thin and the onions are crunchy. All is drizzled in lemon juice and this is a really interesting and refreshing start to the day and something I will come back for again. Super big thumbs up for the guilty moose. Pillar of Salt So to Richmond. I like Pillars and I like Salt as a general rule… but we were a bit let down by this breakfast. The start was promising in that the coffee is sensational and need a

Went to The Guilty Moose for lunch and ordered their cinnamon toasted granola and Baghdad eggs. The granola, served with stewed rhubarb was hearty although I found the portion a bit on the small side. The Baghdad eggs, served with harissa, lentils, and smoked eggplant was very delicious with all the spices that went in it and was a great vegetarian option. Coffee was great too! Overall a great brunch spot.

Food is delicious and very generous portion. We came here on Sunday around lunch time .. It was reasonably busy. We sat at the back and no one came to give us the menu. I think they didn’t have enough staffs on that day. It took awhile to get our meal. You could bring your fur friend to the back part of the cafe :) it’s a nice set up .. especially for a sunny day

Stopped here out of necessity, and will be back regularly. Sitting outside and watching the traffic pass by was relaxing, and both the coffee (double espresso) and food (scrambled eggs on toast with smoked salmon because work was paying) were terrific. The staff were friendly, and there's also a courtyard out the back if you feel the need for quiet.

Came to The Guilty Moose to have brunch the other day. On the day we ordered: - How do you like them apples - Getting all mushy and stuff add poached egg + smoked salmon + potato rosti - Moose juice - Summer fresher First of all, loving all these unique name for the dishes. The french toast has nice flavour. The mushrooms on the toast was a bit too salty for our liking. The juice here is definitely a must order, super fresh and just enough sweetness.

My only regret is to have not visited this cafe sooner. If you're bored of the usual breakfast/brunch options at your favourite cafe, give this place a try. Such an unique menu and oh so tasty. We loved 'Baghdad eggs' and 'getting all Mushy' (mushroom dish). Bursting with flavours and unlike anything we have tasted in recent times. The setting is great too and there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The icing on the cake was the coffee (maccha with white chocolate) which was so so good. All 4 items on our table were phenomenal and we can't wait to go back already. Special shout out to our server - Fiona! Amazing service and conversation.
