Very nice restruant good mix of Chinese and Asian meals, soup was excellent and the rest is on par with most restaurants slightly pricey but good service.
We enjoyed exceptional food and friendly service while dining with a couple of friends last night. We are mostly fish dishes, all cooked to perfection. The flavours are melt in your mouth stuff. Thank you to the owners and staff for a wonderful night.
We love Vicasia. The food is always so beautiful and fresh. Service is always friendly and Ken really makes sure each table is looked after which makes you feel special. So lucky to have a fabulous Chinese restaurant on our local area.
Very well done classics. Great standard with a price to match. Service is fine, wine list long and expensive. Quite a formal atmosphere. Take away is very good here too.
Thank goodness Vicasia opened tonight after the holidays. It is our favourite restaurant for quality of food and wine and service. And there is no where else we want to eat Chinese food! Love the team! Thanks Ken!
Vic Asia has become our only go to place for fresh, authentic Cantonese Chinese food!! Forget about salty, msg laden chinese restaurants or take out places. Vic Asia serves quality food that feels like it has been cooked with love from your chinese grandmother. The Peking Duck is excellent amongst other dishes. We dined in once but mostly get take away which makes it slightly cheaper. Their chicken and sweet corn soup is amazing and so is their hot and sour soup! We have tried their ginger and spring onion stir fry, cantonese stir fry, kung bo stiry fry, mongolian stir fry, pork spare ribs, sweet and sour pork (oh, that light and crunchy batter!) and fried rice - all to die for. The deliciousness makes it all worth the grumpy Asian man on the other side of the phone.
Really enjoy this place. Slightly pricey but in saying that there food is a lot better then the big renowned places.. The level of service and food makes you feel like your in a place that the owners really care. The only negative is toilets upstairs, but in saying that I have bad knees..

I booked a surprise 30th here for 27 people and VicAsia were able to adhere to everyone's dietary requirements even though we ordered the 6 course set menu! (20 of them had food allergies or some special requirement).
The attention to detail and good old fashioned service like serving from the correct side, taking dishes from the correct side, new linen napkin each time someone left the table, the list goes on!
Most importantly: The food was outstanding, absolutely perfect, every course was incredible and I would happily go there on a regular basis if I lived closer.
The best $65 you will spend on food!
Drink list is 4 pages long- so if you love your high class imported wines- this is also the place for you!
Never dined in but had takeaway here heaps of times and its always beautiful food! Never had a bad meal there.... Great food!

Delicious Dining Experience. I had a very memorable dinner at Vic Asia on Friday night. Our table of 7 had a degustation type menu. The service was excellent. Our waiter was friendly and professional. We got fresh hot towels regularly to refresh between courses. Each course was presented on a single platter, and then silver served to each individual at the table. This was done with humble style and finesse and set the mood nicely for the food. You can see that they are using high quality, fresh ingredients. No heavy sauces or lots of oil like many other Chinese restaurants. Everything tasted deliciously fresh and clean. I loved the calamari with crisp curry leaf and chilli. We also had the Patagonian tooth fish, which was steamed to perfection. Our dinner was concluded with sweet pumpkin pancakes. One of my table companions had 8 pieces on his previous visit, and I can understand why. Big thank you for Ken, and the team at VicAsia! I am looking forward to return soon for another delicious dining experience.
Enjoyable but expensive. The food was well executed and good quality, and we enjoyed it. The three glasses vegetarian dish was sensational.
However, the prices were out of kilter with the quantities provided. $20 for (not many) Asian greens, and $16 for a very small calamari entree ensure that the garlic isn't the only thing leaving a bad taste in your mouth!
Wine list almost inaccessible under $50/bottle.

Ate here Saturday 8th September. Only a party of 3.. Walked in was greeted with warm smiles and a Good evening Di. Amazingly dedicated waiter all evening who offered assistance with wine and food recommendations. Went with a $68 - 6 course which is the chiefs choice. Just told them what we didn't like and left them to do the rest. We enjoyed all 6 courses. Plates not overloaded like a banquet. So you experienced the taste of eat ingredient. Loved the use of fresh vegetables and chilis. Don't be put of by a small restaurant on a corner. Crops white table clothes and napkins. Nothing paper or plastic here. Impeccable service and the chief is amazing. Do yourself a huge favour and experience the amazing taste and true enjoyable ambience of the restaurant. Oh and browse through the wine menu. $9 a glass to $1,500 a bottle. You will have to have a drink while you are choosing you drink.

Very nice decor,Good service-tho our waiter was overly serious-which came over as unfriendly. Tho the food was good we definitely felt it didn't represent good value or what you got on the plate. Very small serves. All in all a good dining experience. Good wine list too. But (as we are not made of money)we probably won't be back-better Chinese around Melbs for alot less and more reasonable serves!
Up market chinese, great wine list, great selection of tasty exotic goodies. Had the xo prawns ... Very nice. But I felt it was over priced. Worth a look in...
Mrs. Ok so not sure what people are thinking but.... while the food was tasty it was so overly priced it was not funny. We were a party of 5 and the amount of food on each dish was a joke. Either people just have to much money or had a large afternoon tea the day the visited this resturant as everyone in our party including the women left this establishment still hungry! There are alot of similar type resturants in Melbourne more reasonably priced. People have to get real !
My favorite local restaurant !! Love alllll the entrees The Peking duck is a must have ! During certain periods of the year they have BYO which is great Always get acknowledged by name when we eat there !
W Wald. Pity we just discovered this restaurant the night before we return to Scotland. Delicious food, beautifully presented at reasonable prices and pleasant and helpful staff. Best meal I have had in the last five weeks in Melbourne.

Just love this restaurant. When we discovered they had sold Asiana & moved up the road to open VicAsia we couldn't wait to make a reservation. Have been back several times, dragging our friends along who all agree "it's the best". Entree of soft shell crab is fabulous, as are the scallops. Ask Ken to just bring out their specialties & you won't be disappointed in anything he presents in front of you. My favorite Chinese restaurant in Melbourne. Just wish it was in our suburb!

Had the best Asian take away from VicAsia. The quality of the produce shone, and prices were reasonable. Highly recommended for take away, can't wait to try them dining in.
Brilliant - allergy conscious. We had a lactose allergy, a ciliac, and a sugar allergy at our table, and the chef and maitre'd were absolutely brilliant. They gave us things we could all eat, and we felt confident that we could relax and although we weren't always eating the same meal at each course, we were in the hands of experts and caring staff. Honestly, I think they are one of the best restaurants I have ever been too. Atmosphere very sweet, friendly, and warm. Try this restaurant - the food is absolutely first class and delicious.
Fantastic. We recently had dinner here for the first time. The service was outstanding and the food was even better. It's what Asiana used to be. If you're in the area you must try it.
Had yum cha (dim sum) on a Sunday for lunch. The yum cha menu only has about 20 dishes on it, but all the key ones are there. The dumplings were fresh and tasty. I'll definitely be back and I'm glad to have found a decent yum cha place in this part of town. In Melbourne, there are only a handful, and this is one of them. And it looked like their a la carte food (looking at what others were eating) was really good too, so there's a good chance that I'll revise to 5 stars after my next visit. Service was attentive and friendly.
Friendly staff. Made room for us and our 5 month old. Felt as ease even though he stirred a few times.

Lovely two course meal for two with a glass of wine each came to $110. The vegetable steamed dumplings and the prawns were particularly delicious.
Great chinese food cooked with care and attention to details. We had calamari with five spices, satay chicken skewers, san choi bao with sea food, singapore noodle, stir fry greens. Everything was delicious!
