I'm giving this rating purely for the APH burger. For whatever reasons, APH make a great burger. Nancy had the steak once and it was ok but not Rockpool quality. The food here is generally good but the burger is the standout. Plus, you're in Albert Park which is alway nice.
I often don't visit Albert Park so I wasn't sure really to eat so we decided to give this hotel a try. The menu is not your typical pub food and I ordered a really tasty chestnut risotto with a house wine.
Albert Park Hotel – quite possibly the best place to grab a glass of wine and some lunch in the glorious sunshine which will stay right up until the end of the day. It’s just a great place and they have made sure there are as many seats as they can get out there so you can enjoy. There is a real celebrations of beers here with plenty on tap and in bottles from all over the world with local as well as Spanish, Austria, Denmark, Germany and Japan all there just waiting for those thirsty boys! The wine list by the glass is very reasonable and you can get yourself a Victorian Riesling, an Italian Pinot Grigio, local Chardonnay and the ever popular New Zealand Sauvy B!
Good selection of share plates on offer. Try the chicken liver parfait and the charcuterie board. Marinated olives a stand out. Good place for a sunny Sunday afternoon.
Excellent. Our group enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch here. The food was great. And the service and the attention to detail we received was above par. I would definitely recommend dining here.
The APH Wagyu Burger with mustard, aioli, pickle and beetroot. It’s a good burger, great bun, holds together well and nice fresh salad
12pm to 4pm every day you can get soft tacos for $5! One of each please!!
It a gorgeous summers evening when we head to the back of the Albert Park Hotel, uncharted territory for us the recently renovated restaurant is just gorgeous! Comfortable, welcoming and with a lovely looking open courtyard and fishes swimming above the kitchen pass. It's the Albert Park Oyster Bar & Bistro so oysters we shall have, with 7 on the menu we go for a mixed dozen with; Tom Thumb, Clair de Lune , Rusty Wire and Label Rouge all from NSW Batemans Bay…. WOW! They are amazing! The tiny Tom Thumb are divine and the big boys are packed with flavour - best oysters I have had recently!! There is a fantastic choice of amazing fish and I will definitely be back to try but tonight we are grazing on Latin Street Food, the tuna sashimi tacos with spicy peanut sauce are amazing! Crispy chicken tacos, soft corn taco wrapped around gorgeous mouthfuls of crispy chicken and spicy mayo. The stuffed zucchini flowers are perfectly done ... read more at my blog
The cooked oysters floating around that I managed to have a taste of were the Florentines; with herbs, spinach, and parmesan cheese on top, it was superb!
Not sure how much of the food menu is gluten free, but this is definitely a good place for a drink and dessert.
We turned up for an impromptu EOY party and ended up staying all night.. The food was perfect for what we needed, some chicken ribs and sliders, lots of easy sharing food.. Good times had by all!
One if the nicer local pubs !. Have eaten here a number if times & never been disappointed ! A great place to catch up over a glass of wine & graze on a platter ! Crowd is nice - wine selection good, friendly staff. Great on a warmer day when u can sit outside !
Drinks and Bar Snacks. We grazed on Spanish anchovies served from the tin, Barcelona style, Grilled Squid, and Mussels, and drank copiously in the sun here last weekend.
Fun, chilled out and tasty is how I would characterise the APP.
Lovely lunch. We joined friends for a casual lunch and weren't disappointed the food was great and the service prompt and friendly, we had Barramundi, Minute Steak and Nicoise Salad.
Happy to recommend

Great pub with a bistro. Had a few drinks in the sun on the weekend and headed in to the restaurant for dinner. Its a pleasant change to not have to wait for a table in this day and age. The food excels for a pub and the service is great.
Went for lunch to celebrate our staff party today and had a great time. A big thanks for the sensational service from all the staff.
The food was timely and tasty and the aircon and beers kept us all comfortably cool!
Went here on tuesday on a summer's day. The place was pumping! Sat ourselves on an outdoor table and drinks/food menus were down straightaway! The saganaki was to die for! And the whole fish with hand cut chips were amazing too. The food here has definitely improved since my last visit. I've already booked in for a Christmas function and can't wait!! Definitely recommend, even as a St Kilda local!
Best fish in town. Had Murry cod with chips n salad for lunch today. It was possibly the nicest fillet I've had in Melbourne. Will definitely be back!
Fantastic Group Experience. Recently had a function on Saturday night for 28 people at the Albert Park Hotel.
Guided by Michelle, who was fantastic with the organization of the night (and was incredibly helpful going above and beyond the call of duty), we put together a menu selection of 3 entrees, choice of 4 mains, and choice of 3 desserts.
All the food was absolutely sensational and a number of the guests said so. Highlights were the lamb cutlets, the delicious beef sliders, and the spiced pears for dessert, but the entire menu was excellent.
I'd wholeheartedly recommend booking dinner at this venue, for either a private function or a group dinner!
Fabulous!!!!. Adam Liston (Chef) has lifted the food to exquisite levels. Diverse and intriguing wine list and great service. A real treat, especially if you go the degustation route. Highly recommended.
Top Feed. Went here a while back after he revamped their menu - and they have done a great job. Heavily weighted to seafood, the menu is also good for sharing. I had fish and we shared a few sides and it was a very tasty and sizeable dinner. Great environment too and you can hang around in the bar afterwards.
Class and sophistication all the way. Albert Park Hotel is my choice restaurant to take friends. The prices are a little steep but the service was personal and professional.
The menu is exciting and adventurous, exotic flavours mixed with super awesome traditional pub meals with a modern twist. Most people would bypass this hotel as they simply don't know about it! I'm more of a local but would recommend this restaurant to people outside the area. I've uploaded some photos from blogs and The Age website from their raving reviews.
Awesome fish. Beautiful BBQed whole fish, fresh Asian inspired flavors! Stand out sides if ordering a whole fish, triple cooked chippys, Asian coleslaw and sesame Asian greens. Service was quick and efficient! The have Aperol here aswell, wasn't the best sour I've had but still refreshing with my whiting.
Albert Haul. Hit Albert Park Hotel at 6pm on a Friday to take advantage of the $1 oyster happy hour. Given the standard price for oysters these days is more like $3 or $4 a piece, it’s quite an attractive offer.
After demolishing three dozen natural oysters at the bar, my partner and I moved into the restaurant area and ordered a few dishes to share from the mostly seafood menu. Asian & Latin street food also makes an appearance, however fresh seafood remains the star in most dishes.
Californian style seafood tacos with spicy Campechana sauce were very tasty, but perhaps a touch messy due the saucy nature of the seafood.
Sticky pork with spicy green papaya salad, peanuts & Thai herbs was a lovely combination. Purists may be taken aback to see kaffir lime leaf and Vietnamese mint in the dish, but I still enjoyed it immensely.
The flounder for two was cooked a la plancha (grilled on a metal plate) and was incredibly moist and extremely appetizing. It wasn’t cheap at $70, but it was simply fabulous.
A bottle of 2010 Delatite Dead Man's Hill Gewurztraminer turned out to be the perfect accompaniment.
Despite the seemingly casual feel of the place, the hotel appears very well staffed. I found the service attentive and professional right throughout the evening.
Like It. Easy lazy lunch on a hot day involving soft shell prawn tacos, lots of great seafood and a hamburger that ticked all the boxes, great wine list and efficient service. Everyone at our table loved the food and the casual style of dining. Floor staff know their stuff.
Excellent meal. Four of us went for lunch on Saturday, sat in their outdoor seating and ordered the lunch set $55pp to share. We had three different types of oysters (Claire de Lune, Label Rouge and Cloudy Bay), mouth watering Prawn Tacos, the freshest tuna sashimi and crab salad with crisp asian herbs, crisp pork belly salad with green papaya and chillies, and a generous sized whole flat head drizzled with the most amazing Thai style sauce and three side dishes. The balance of flavours in each dish was truly amazing, and the portion sizes were quite generous. I've always been their fan of their made to order fish dishes, but we were very impressed by their lunch menu offerings. There were quite a few Asian Street food/ Latain Street food items on the menu only offered at lunch time. Will be back again for sure.
Affable bar and floor staff, the food is pretty good. If you complain about the prices you've never eaten in Melbourne before. Have some drinks after your feed, good atmosphere.
Delicious!. Headed down to Albert Park Hotel last week for a casual dinner with friends & was pleasantly surprise! I normally just park myself in the main bar & get some of the bar menu items (which is now referred to as the Fish Café by the locals - menu looks great btw) but on this occasion we headed into the Oyster Bar & Grill.
We enjoyed the Fish Feasting option which at $55 per head we found to be great value contrary to what some of the other reviewers have said. Oysters to start were great; the whole 'catch of the day' in the Arabesque sauce was perfect for the four of us to share. After a couple of glasses of wine we were very satisfied. Thank you!
Definitely will be back soon, summer sessions - bring them on!
A Fish Place with Style. This bistro is fantastic. Sunday night dinner here a few weeks back was delicious from first to last bite. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable about both produce and cooking techniques. The place was packed but service was great.
We ate here last sunday night- would classify this place as a gastropub- staff were lovely and attentive- and circled items available that day on the menu. we had shared the blue swimmer crab -$60 which was fantastic-swimmning in this tomato-olive-salami sauce, perfectly cooked. we had two side orders- beautiful thick chips and a great salad with bits of feta and pomegrante --all beautiful and very fillling, desserts looked great but couldnt fit it. restored our faith in eating out, after going to the very ordinary st. katherines two weeks before..our only picky comment- is there a device that could keep the place warm as after you pick through the crab..almost an hour goes by..and kids running around a restaurant is not good!
Good for a group. Went here for a birthday and was really happy with the food. Didnt get much serivce but they were nice when they did come and the Whole baramundi, steak and mushroom risotto were excellent.
Watch out for the cougars on the way out!!
Great but pricey. Enjoyed a Sunday lunch here and really enjoyed our experience. We ate out front in the bar area and really liked the ability to eat out rather than dine out, although prices were of the dining out range. What we really liked was the little extras (complimentary) - grilled turkish bread and babaganoush while we waited for meals and biscotti with coffee. These are the little touches that go a long way. My wife had the the KG Whiting and I the Snapper. Here the fish is served up whole with 5 different seasoning options - different to the usual. We had a side of parsley and leek mash that was velvety smooth and delicious. For desert we shared the Clafoutis which was to die for!! A great lunch, cool pub and little on the expensive side.
Great Friday Night Find.. Fantastic pub for a catch up with friends over some fantastic seafood. The oysters are little over priced but lovely. The whole snapper fish with hand cut chips and the pea tabbouleh was amazing. You can't go past the Chocolate Terrine for dessert - WOW - it was orgasmic! Even the tap water tasted great. Will return again for sure - just when I pay off my credit card :(
Good corporate lunch venue. Just been to the Albert Park for a work lunch., very good mains, fresh fish and a good vin list. Service was professional - would go back.
The Albert Park Hotel is another Melbourne doodies pub with a great menu with Argentinian flavours. The lunchtime share snack menu suits a quick bite to share with friends. Meal prices from $10.00
