First time coming here and the smell of the shop is amazing.
I bought a couple of things just to try the minute I got home I got into the pastrami and it was divine so much flavour just the right amount of smoke.

Just a good old-fashioned company in terms of good service, excellent product (tried and true recipes).
I can remember visiting Butts as a kid in the 1990s (they have been around a while, and know their stuff!), when there was sawdust on the floor. Just a really genuine business that I am happy to keep buying from week in week out.
People complaining about the price are missing the point - you get what you pay for. If you want deliciously smoked fresh meat and fish, then look no further. If you are happy with imported stuff from the Woolworths deli aisle, then save your money and get that inferior stuff.
For me, this place is one of life's great pleasures. It is great to see they are keeping traditions alive. And they have been doing it since long before the gourmet/hipster/foodie movement started, so they are the real deal.
I ordered a smoked trout, smoked chicken roll and a ham for Christmas to be delivered to Canberra. The service was fantastic and the food matched. Delicious, thank you.
