Review Pan-lan Chinese Restaurant - Albury

We felt like Chinese so even though it looked quiet we went in and it was the best quality and value dinner in Albury. The locals were hiding behind the fish aquarium. Definitely a worthwhile visit healthy vegetables and tasty sauces

We had a hankering for some nice Chinese food, and visiting Albury we did t know where to go so this looked as good as any. Saturday night and barley 3 or 4 tables had diners so I should have taken that as a sign. What could go wrong? Well, we ordered and although it was all edible, it was anything but delicious. It wasn’t bad but nothing, I repeat nothing had genuine flavour and made you go Mmmmm, I’ll have myself some more of that. It was all just passable. Just. You would never eat again here if there was another Chinese option to try first. Honey chicken was insipid, the sizzling Mongolian beef came out in a bowl as though it had been warmed up in the microwave, and then they poured it out of the bowl onto the hot sizzling platter with raw onions in front of us - which basically defeats the whole purpose of cooking the beef on the sizzling cast iron plate. None of the Onion had caramelised, it was just so bla. They food came out fast, I’ll give them that, and they served lovely ice cold jugs of water which was nice.

Had a large group booking here for a birthday dinner, 16 people in total, was great to be able to all fit around the one huge table, service was fast and professional, food was all amazing, no disappointments even with over 30 plates ordered, entrees were fast coming out too, everything was table service, even drinks. Prices were very reasonable and cuisine very authentic. Definitely the better Chinese restaurant in the area. Will be back

Very bad experience, small portions and not fresh. Would not recommend.

I ordered a chicken combination with just pork beef and chicken. And when I got my meal. It had prawns in it so I took it back and asked if they could make another one with just the pork beef and chicken like I asked. And they wouldn't do it they just kept saying take it out. I said too bad if I'm allergic prawns being in a meal would end up contaminating it. Weather I take them out or not. I'm not sure if she quite understood what I was saying that she just kept repeating take it out take it out.. I was not happy with my service so they get 0 stars from me they should cater for all people

Albury’s best kept secret with locals hidden inside the quality and portions are excellent along with great value and local Chinese service

Unfortunately the LaLa combination did not make me sing out loud. Sauce was gluggy with cornflour thickener. Rice was ok. And no king prawn in the fried batter dumpling, a tiny shrimp.

The best thing was the honey chicken, the very little we received anyway, everything else was not worth it serving sizes are pitiful, you can get bigger servings at takeaway places in food courts, the pricing is also far to high for what you receive
