Asked for takeaway sweet and sour pork as well as Green chicken curry. With prawn starter and spring roll starter. Starters were loverly. Green curry on point . No pork in the sweet and sour pork. Just sweet and sour veges. Disappointing

Was very delighted with recent takeaway order. Other people in house very happy as well. Great to see people eating in the restaurant there as well.

We're Aldgate locals and have been coming here for years - still our favourite takeaway place by some margin. Highly recommend the crispy beef and the honey chicken especially.

Great meal especially the ginger shallot prawn dish - amazing, thank you

A perfectly good, honest Chinese takeaway made by perfectly good honest local people. There's certainly nothing fancy about the place and I've never eaten in. It's obviously a small family business with Mum doing front of house and I assume Dad is cooking out the back. To be honest, dining in would seem like a bit of an imposition. The takeaway food quality however is right up there with the best Chinese I have had. It's always fresh and tasty comprised of good quality ingredients an it's completely consistent every time. Love the little touches like snipping the corner off the lid of the takeaway containers of their fried foods and serving the sauce separately so that it maintains it's crispness. All in all, they are excellent at what they do.

Great salt pepper squid , the lady serving lovely unfortunatly the other food dishes to oily for our liking , we politely mentioned this again when ordering , however our request was overlooked again by kitchen staff. Sorry this is tge end for us

The last few weeks we've been surprised how good the food is. We used to order form here because it was handy to home, now the food is also pretty good. Must have a fairly new chef as the flavour and quality have improved so much!

Proper old school Australian Chinese takeaway. Very tasty food!

First time here having just moved to the area, but am a very regular take away buff. I ordered a rather simple and easy 4 entrees (dim sims, Curry Puffs, satay beef and shallot pancake) and two mains (Pork spare ribs in plum sauce and salt and pepper chicken). At my old take away this would have been 15 minute wait tops. Here it was forty minutes - (strange I thought) but allowed a few extra minutes and appeared at 47 minutes. Not quite ready!! Waited 9 minutes more equals the best part of an hour. There were 8 people sitting down and 3 waiting to pick up take away. The three were almost asleep, indicating to me that they were having a long wait. So not great. Now the food. All cold by the time I got home (7 minutes). Entrees OK, outside of temperature, but the two mains were terrible. Pork spare ribs - first time I've ever had them with the bones intact on the meat. Normally these are trimmed off. And the plum sauce was even more watery than water! The S & P chicken was mainly batter - the chicken was beaten to about a millimetre thick, then covered heavily in batter and almost inedible. That was when you could find the chicken in the batter.I love take away and unfortunately in my new area this is the only Chinese. Sadly never again.

Very helpful ordering on the phone with menu options. Food tasted fresh and yummy. Very quick making our dinner and ready to be picked up before expected time. Catered to vegans. Great work.

Made a mistake with our take out orders and went above and beyond to fix - had the laksa and there's enough for two meals. Absolutely beautiful! The chicken was so soft! And my brother assures me his curry puffs and chicken skewers were great.

Used to be great. Hadn't been for a while, and I was looking forward to a tasty meal. Unfortunately very disappointed. S&P squid was cooked way too much and was like eating a tyre; Sweet and sour sauce tasted like gone off alcohol. Rice inedible. Wont ever be going back.

first time visitor, good food, Mongolian lamb was great. service was nice, fast. prices were reasonable, the place was clean, will be going back again :)

Despite the bad reviews we thought the menu looked good so we got some takeaway. It was completely inedible and i wonder how they make even the rice taste stale. Straight in the bin and toast for dinner instead.

Honestly I have eaten here a lot due to a renno. Compared to other Chinese restaurants this place is super substandard. Pork ribs old and smell. Salt and pepper calamari, way to much msg. Nearly inedible( multiple occasions) Bbq pork some weird tough prepackaged stuff. Chicken satays taste weird. Beef spring rolls are good. The nasi goereng is not bad if it wasn't for the horrible shrimp paste to fu ( love shrimp paste too ) If they say pick up in 15 go in 25. I could keep going but all in all super average. Still eat there though it's convenient. Personally though spend the extra and eat at Sala Thai in Stirling

After reading the positive reviews we were very disappointed. That was terrible. Worst Chinese I've ever had. Plus, I was not impressed at the stray soggy bit of seafood in my pork dish.

A real surprise; we live in the area but hadn't been in ages until urged by friends. Great food - fresh and hot - friendly service and very reasonable pricing. Decor is reassuringly dated but clean because the focus is on the food.
From miso soup to sizzling prawns and Chinese broccoli in oyster sauce, there were no let downs. Yum.

I had this for the first time last night after my sister in law had been RAVING about it to me for weeks- and let me tell you it does not dissapoint!! We had a selection of dishes and all were amazing, not oily like most Chinese food I have tried in the past. Going to get it again tonight because I'm a greedy fat pig lol jokes!

Good Chinese food. Good standard Aussie style Chinese food, good value. We've eaten in once, and the reason more people don't is the children running/riding scooters/screaming through the restaurant. Perhaps when they grow up a bit, the diners will return.

The best Chinese restaurant in the Hills!. I go here semi-regularly. There are very few Chinese restaurants in the Adelaide Hills, and even fewer that are any good. As far as I can tell, Aldgate Chinese is the only decent Chinese restaurant in the Hills, hence it's the best by default.

Their food is standard Australian-style Chinese. There's nothing remarkable about their menu, but it's not terrible either. The thing is that I've NEVER seen anyone eat in there, even though they've been there for years. I'm guessing most of the locals (myself included) either take away or get delivery. Pricing is reasonable, and they get extra points for offering a small range of Asian groceries; something which is very useful given a lack of Asian grocery stores in the area.

If I can't be bothered making the trek to the bottom of the hill to Chinatown and I want a tasty and simple Chinese meal, then Aldgate Chinese is good enough for me.
