Folks I can honestly say if you love great coffee, amazing staff who literally go out of their way to accomodate you then do yourself a favour and visit Bezirk!! I am happy to drive 30 mins from home to visit this gem, it's that good
Friendly, great food, changing menu, great coffee and good service.
Great coffee & breakfast stop ! Lovely attentive staff too .
Beautiful and yummy fresh food. Excellent coffee and amazing setting beside the beach.
Great coffee, great food and great service. Buzzing little place every time I've been there.
Fabulos cafe with awesome coffee, worth a visit if your in Altona
Such a great place fantastically child and dog friendly. Amazing food and coffee! Breaking ground for altona.
Bezirk is my new favorite cafe, lovely coffee chai & almond milk, beautiful food and awesome service. Definitely worth the walk along the water to millers rd. ☺
The filtered coffee is really worth a try! Delicious! Best coffee in Altona.
Love the coffee and food is amazing. The staff are friendly and dog friendly as well
Delicious food and very friendly service. Coffee is excellent
Tried this cafe for the first time after hearing good things and was pleasantly surprised! Food was super fresh and tasty, as well as being reasonably priced.
Very nice little cafe , good food and coffee . The place could do with a few more chairs and tables . But I do think it’s a great cafe . :) friendly staff
Weekday brunch after pushing prams along Altona beach.
Great coffee. Waffles were good but super sweet. Wanted to try one of their slices from the cake display but couldn’t do it after the sweet waffles.
Eggs Benedict had too much of the vinegar water served with the egg which made the dish soggy & tangy.
Will definitely come back on an afternoon for coffee & slice!
Located in Altona, Bezirk Café a cosy café with outdoor seating at the front. It is also just a 5 min walk down to Altona Beach so you could go for a walk after your delicious brunch. When we visited we chose to sit outside as the sun was shining and it was a nice day. We ordered the Zucchini, corn and sweet potato fritters, the Bircher muesli and the Waffles. The fritters were perfectly cooked and was yummy with the poached egg on top. The Bircher muesli was lovely with the fresh fruit. The Waffles were yummy too! We had a delicious brunch on a sunny day.
We thank Bezirk Cafe for having us. We experienced Bezirk Cafe as guests, and all of our opinions are genuine and are based on our experience at the time of our visit.
Such a cute little cafe in Altona right near the water. There is seating out the front with a lovely view and a cosy little courtyard at the back. I loved the art wall inside too, adds a lot of character.
Staff are really friendly and appear to have a lot of regular customers.
We tried the big breakfast and it was just that- BIG. Everything was well cooked, my little friend was too full to try the house made baked beans but they looked so good. I really enjoyed my chocolate brownie pancakes it was a nice size, tasty and not too heavy.
Definitely a must try cafe if you’re ever in Altona :)
Located 100 metres away from the stunning Altona Beach, Bezirk café on Miller’s Road, is an exceptional café serving up some incredible tasty dishes for breakfast and lunch. The decor of the establishment was pleasant with whitewashed walls and a beautiful painting along the wall. The venue has 3 dining spaces, including a stunning courtyard.
We ordered the Fritters, Smashed Avocado and the Beef Burger (with avocado). For drinks, we ordered a juice and a coffee. The burger was mouth-watering and juicy. The citrusy avocado and the tasty cheese really gave the burger that extra quick! The beef was also cooked to perfection. We also loved the Smashed Avocado! The poached eggs were cooked well and the avocado was perfectly ripe. The edamame beans were a nice touch as well! Our favourite dish was definitely the Fritters. You could taste the zucchini corn and sweet potato all individually as nothing overpowered the other. The pumpkin purée was exquisite and accompanied the dish wonderfully. The juice was refreshing and the coffee was strong!
Just like the way I like it! We absolutely loved our dining experience today and we cannot rave about this place high enough! Bezirk is open from 6:30am-4pm on weekdays and 7:30am-4pm on weekends.
On this sunny Easter Saturday we came to Bezirk for lunch, with water glimpses from various tables, this cafe is certainly in a good spot with a modern yet slight whitewashed decor, giving a spacious feel.
The coffees arrived piping hot and mine deliciously strong (as I requested).
With the cafe closing early this Easter Saturday, there was a frantic number of people wanting to grab last minute coffees and food and we were one of the lucky ones to get our order in without a second to spare.
We ordered the chicken burger off the lunch menu and the chocolate brownie pancakes off the breakfast. It is Easter after all!
The chocolate pancakes were in-fact blueberry with chocolate brownie crumb and walnuts for crunch. This worked well, not too chocolatey or overly sweet. The chicken burger was cracking from the citrusy avacodo, American cheese, apple slaw and brioche bun, a real winner and the sweet chili mayo with the salty chips, yum the perfect combination.
We would have loved to spend more time soaking up the atmosphere but they were closing at 2 so we headed out for a walk along the coast instead.
Thanks for having us in.

This is what Cafe dining is all about. Located 100m from Altona Beach on Miller’s Road, this cafe exemplifies how to create a place that not only attracts regular locals but visitors as well.
On Easter Saturday, we came for brunch and were treated with golden retrievers at the outdoor tables soaking up the sun as their owners chatted over coffee.
Inside we were invited to take a seat and given menus to peruse. This modern, clean design with nice touches such as shelves, books and even timber tables gives brings warmth to what could be a stark space. There is a courtyard at the rear which is protected from the wind but today we wanted to view the machinations of this funky place.
The menu is abundant with fresh food options and it’s nice to see that they source much of their items locally, whether that’s the local dairy to the plasterer whose done some reno work.
We ordered the Eggs Benedict with pulled pork and the fritters with a poached egg.
While they we were being prepared our drinks arrived. The English breakfast tea was served on a gorgeous timber board but it was the stunning handmade sea grass blue pottery cup that caught my eye. Such a nice touch. The iced chocolate was good and not overfilled with ice.
Meals arrived quickly and everything was superb. Couldn’t fault anything.
Whether it’s the lovely blue water bottles or the mural on the wall, this place has ambience that epitomises a good cafe.
Staff were efficient and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Dietaries are catered for - just let the staff know what your needs are.
You can dine in or takeaway. Plenty of cakes, slices, muffins and even sandwiches to choose from to eat on-the-run.
Note that they don’t use plastic straws! They also have woollen blankets for those cold days and you’d like to sit outside.
Highchairs available for the little ones. They have ‘storytime’ here on Thursday’s which is held at the rear courtyard. Lovely space for kids to play with their toys.
There is one small step into the cafe to I’d say it is wheelchair friendly. Stroller/pram friendly. Parking is pretty good out the front.
Take note other cafe owners - this is how you set up a beautiful space with great food. Well done Bezirk.
Had brunch here on Saturday and loved it! The coffee was sensational...probably the BEST i've had in Melbourne! I had the chilli/mushroom scramble and it was lovely, a little too salty but other than that I really enjoyed it! The portion size was decent too! My partner had the eggs benedict and I think he ate it in about 1 minute...we both really enjoyed everything about this place and to top it off the staff were extremely friendly and also knowledgeable about the industry and coffee! 10/10! We will definitely be back. Well done!
Extremely lovely and friends staff. I had the chicken burger which was very tasty and an orange juice which was super fresh and delicious. My mum enjoyed the pancakes. 😊
I heard many good reviews about this cosy cafe so thought I'd try it out. Saturday morning it was buzzing it was just about at full capacity and kept busy the whole time we were there. I ordered the traditional Bacon N Eggs (added spinach) and my partner order the Feel good breaky + coffees.
Coffees were good, nice smooth and tasty.
Food was good, you could taste the freshness in the ingredients, portions were a good size.
Staff were friendly and accommodated us while it was busy
Wait wasn't long
Overall is was a good experience but nothing overly exciting.
Awesome cafe.
Very friendly staff and always attentive .
Food is awesome , wife has had pancakes since day one .... still having them 1year later .
Truely I love this place and well I go there 3/4 times a week.
Chilled , relaxed and inviting and right by the beach !! It’s a must ;)

Coffee was ok not the best around. Staff were friendly & welcoming. Food similar to the coffee good but not outstanding, could have used some simple touches to bring out the flavours, seasoning wouldve helped. Poplar little place the locals seem to love it.
Location is excellent, easy for parking and beachside. Had the Brekky Burger with hash browns and an Almond flatwhite, both were fantastic. Highly recommended
Best coffee in the West, hands down. Good quality food, local produce and supportive of small producers. Love the twists on each of the menu items and and being able to pre-order my coffee when I'm on the go. A hidden gem, well worth visiting if you enjoy quality fare.
So yummy! Beautiful fresh ingredients with lots of flavour. I had the healthy breakie with poached eggs, halloumi and bacon with lots of grains and greens. Coffee was great too. Will be back for sure.
Bezierk is my local cafe, and it would have to be my favourite! They make a wonderful coffee, and the use good beans too (Campos) The food is great as well, I usually get the eggs benedict with hash browns, which is always beautiful!
I've always found the staff to be extremely welcoming, and friendly and will do anything to help. I would highly recommend that you venture out to Altona, and check this wonderful little cafe out!
Coffee was one of the best. Breakfast menu was limited. They could do better and is an area for improvement. I've tasted better food for lower price in the same type of ambiance. So not sure what else is the competitive edge here. Maybe the coffee but not sure if this is enough.
Superb breakfast close to the beach, we have been here a few times and always satisfied with the food quality and service. My husband loves the coffee here.
Came here for breakfast, coffee was delicious! We both had large & they were still strong & full of flavour. The meals were well priced & filling.
Coffee is the best in Altona and even rates among the best in Melbourne. Staff are always friendly and welcoming, the food is great both dine in and take away options. Love the bacon & egg rolls on a brioche bun and for $6 is pretty generous. Even have an app that lets you add credit and order online before you pickup. Very happy this place opened and appears to be part of the changing more modern face of Altona.
I had the pancakes which were light and fluffy and tasty. The coffee was excellent. Husband had eggs benne and said it was nice too. This place was fine- I would go back.
This is by far the best cafe in the West!!! I don't say this lightly either. I have tried so many cafes & non are as consistently great like Bizirk. Not only is the coffee top notch the staff are incredible. I have never seen such accomodating staff before. They have even offer to take my order from my car when then saw me struggling to wrangle 3 of my children from the car. This place actually is a child friendly place that the whole family will enjoy!! Love your work team Bezirk and see you soon!!
We stay close to this and it was a great comfort place for us to meet friends, grab a morning coffee or brunch. My favourite is the almond cappuccino.. And awesome food options..
Ive been here a few times on the morning walk. Has good coffee, Friendly service, Has a nice set up, breakfast is good but prob about 15-20% over priced considering what you get.
Met up with my friend for brunch at bezirk and had the waitresses' favorite- Savory Breakfast Bowl with kale and broccolini and it was so so good. The halloumi cheese added a great salty touch to the dish !!
Thanks guys
Wow! What a stunner. Coffee is consistently spot on, served with a friendly smile. With local produce used in all menu items, i had the Hash Brown & Asparagus stack. Everything on the plate was cooked to delicious perfection. The bacon is sublime. Generous portions at a great price. Happy, friendly staff! I'm hooked.
Love this local gem in Altona. Coffee is excellent and the food is always delicious - the smashed avo is my favourite. Love their weekly specials when I want to try something different. Definitely my favourite brunch spot
Great service and one of the best coffees I've had i try to pick one up every morning as for the breakfast i can not rate as i haven't had it yet.
Consistently good food and service. A little more pricey than the regular Altona offerings (for serving size) but the quality and care in what they produce reflects the price. Some of their specials are amazing - the breakfast pastas they did a while ago were outstanding and I hope to see them return.
I just wish they had a bigger menu (especially for lunch choices, it's very light on) and that they had more tables. It's our closest cafe but very rarely get to go there on weekends as it is completely full.
Amazing food and coffee - they were under the pump due to public holiday and gave us a round of coffees to apologize for the wait on the food. We'll be back 👍
Excellent coffee and food is delicious. Can't go past the real chai either and so beautifully presented! Staff are lovely and friendly. The owner is a local and he's always so friendly when we visit. Love it ❤️
Great coffee, friendly service. I love this place. The food is yummy, reasonably priced and a good portion size.
It is small inside so if you are large group this cafe wouldn't be ideal.
Nice place
Great coffee
Sandwiches are really good value for lunch!
However it is a bit noisy and small, what a pity they couldn't have made more of the yard outside.
Portions are on the small side.
Bezirk is a small friendly cafe away from busy Pier Street. The menu is small, with the focus on breakfast which is served most of the day. We have eaten here several times. Food is modern and tasty and prices are reasonable. In particular the cakes and sandwiches are moderately priced. Service is friendly and sometime apologetic when the place is busy. The cafe is quite small and needs some wall or floor furnishing to offset the cement floor - it is incredibly noisy, especially on busy weekend mornings. There is a cute okay area for children but don't expect a lot - it is small and best suited to a couple of toddlers. Overall, it is a great addition to the current Altona offerings.
Great food, great atmosphere, great price, great location but most importantly great service. Was there on a busy Saturday morning, however the entire staff, made every effort to ensure we felt like the only ones in there, even though they were being run off their feet. Will definitely be back.
Came in on a Sunday for breakfast with a friend. It was busy as to be expected, but our waiter seemed well adapted to handle that. The food was quick to be served and delicious, the coffees were fantastic and better than we expected! We also got a milkshake which was not hugely cold, but still tastey.
Fantastic service, food and people are so lovely... I ordered the smashed avocado with poached eggs on sour dough... Was nice and warm & quickly eaten 😛
Best coffee I've had in Altona. Love that they serve almond milk too. It's nice sitting outside with the beach in view. Dog water bowls outside and a cute bike rack. Perfect for the warmer weather
A great place for breakfast in Altona! This cafe features efficient service with a smile that is difficult to fault, and great coordination of meals and beverages in terms of delivery times. A variety of breakfast dishes allows for this cafe to cater to a wide variety of customers, menu modifications are also respected. The French toast I was served was a little dry, however the many portions of eggs on toast cooked to near perfection on my table certanky filled me with confidence in the chef's abilities. The tea and coffee served furthermore was a significant improvement on what is currently available in Altona. The decor of this establishment was pleasant and clean, however room for improvement does exist in terms of lighting, especially for rear tables. Lastly the considerate gesture of providing fathers on my table with complementary tea cakes was unexpected, and greatly appreciated to assist us in celebrating father's day.
Very good Mediterranean restaurant. The service people are super nice. Cozy place. They don't have a super big menu, which makes it easy to choose. The dishes they have are good quality. Can't wait to go there again
Must of this place is of course the food. The menu is interesting even though essential, they used high quality products and everything is well cooked. This style reminds me of some modern places in Milan, but of course with northern touches. I think instead the service was not at the same level. I would have prefer a better description of the dishes (maybe not speaking German could have had an impact on this) and wines, asking eventually my preferences and discussing further the choices. I didn't have the feeling of a warm and welcoming place and that's a pity. Considering the price (very very high) the service must be perfect. In the end, being the food so good I give high rate and probably I would return, maybe during the week to avoid the crowd of the weekend, and choosing dishes and wines by myself instead of the menu.
A daily changing list of creative menus. Just went in ordering a random 3 course menu and was more than satisfied. Especially with the course below.
It is a pricey place, although based on quality definitely worth it. If you have a birthday to celebrate or some other success in your life you can come here.
The menu looks great, but I highly recommend the set menu and the sommelier paired wines. Every course was exceptional. It is pricey, but the combination of flavours and textures is pure artistry. This was our second visit to Kleine Brunnenstrasse, it is a very special dining experience.
Was here this evening for the first time in a couple of years given lockdowns and all, easily as good as I remember from the last time if not better. One of the very best dining out experiences in the city, superb food, elite service, extremely relaxed surroundings and yet not an ounce of pretentiousness about the place. Perfection.
Loved the outdoor seating, staff was attentive and the food is definitely worth a try.
Good place for a good dinner. Little and friendly restaurant with a carefully desiged menu. Great presented and elaborated plates.
Very original food. Small Place. Good wines. Really enjoyed our evening meal
