I have to say, i think i have become addicted to these burgers. Not only are the burgers and fries great but the staff also are what makes the place too. We need to put this place on the map, cause i think this might just be the best burger joint going around.

Despite the 20-25 minute wait, the burgers & chips were definitely worth the wait! It was a busy day at the shop but the staff were excellent & the food was just delicious! We have a new favorite spot in Altona Beach now!! Highly recommended!

After spending a great day at the shore we heading off in search of something to eat. When we came across an unconventional burger joint. We Ordered their best selling burger (the classic,) and it was a magnificent mouth watering experience. B2b sause is delicious 😋
This is the best burger joint this side of the westgate.. amazingly delicious dirty hotdog.. their chips are awesomely good.. and the ferrero rocher milkshake was sinfully good. Definitely reccomend this joint.. going back asap!

Amazing night for burgers. Place was packed with only three staff on. They handle the pace and the customers beautifuly. The blonde girl on the register was friendly and letting ppl know about a wait. Burgers were nice. Definitely worth the wait. And the staff did a amazing job for the number of customers they had.

Affordable burger place. I ordered the double burguer with bacon, cheese, lettuce and sauce. The beef patties were slightly overcook so this made them a little dry, but overall the burger met expected flavors. On side, I had a cheese fries, were the cheese could be better. Fast service. Friendly staff.
One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The Bird! The chicken was crispy and delicious, the buns are perfect as well. The chips with cheese are spot on. Will be back!

The Classic – Soft buns are buttered and grilled. As the name suggests, it’s a classic combo of lettuce, onion and tomato, but I love the combination of mustard and B2B sauce. Patty was grilled medium.
The Meaty – Just thinly shaved red onion providing a bit of bite and freshness. The bacon was crisp and easy to bite into, and the bbq sauce was nice and tangy.
Chunky chips had a rough, crisp coating and a fluffy inside.
With a clean interior, it’s a decent option for a local burger fix.
This place the the best shakes, LOVE the Oreo one.
Their burgers are the perfect size for me, soft buns, juicy meat and awesome sauces and who doesn’t like cheese and bacon fries??!!

Between Two Buns in Altona is the best burger place I have ever been to. Great food, the burgers are just perfect, The chips are delicious and flavoursome and the hot dogs are pretty dang nice. The milkshakes are the best in Melbourne with a wide range of flavours. The best bit is definitely the customer service with everyone being really friendly and helpful. The only bad bit about it is the cost. It is a tad bit expensive but it is worth it for the taste and service.
I’m in love with Between 2 Buns’ burgers. The original burger there is beautiful. The buns are deliciously sweet and goes beautifully with the perfectly cooked meat patties. If you go you have to get the cheese and bacon fries, the gooey cheese is creamy and the perfect consistency to grab onto the chips and the little bacon pieces are salty and fatty which is amaaazing. I used to head out to footscray to 8bit whenever I needed a burger fix but after tasting Between 2 Buns I am so happy I only need to drive 5 mins down the road.
This franchise in Altona makes the best burgers (i have not visited other franchises)! I have enjoyed their burgers everytime I have been here. I would rate them well above B.East and 8-bit. The staff has always been friendly and up beat.

Having already gone to the spin-off B2B in the west, it was time to try the 'original'. Needless to say, it was practically the same.
A good juicy patty can do wonders, and this chain definitely has the best consistency in quality standards. Not bad.

I have been meaning to come here for a long time now and finally made the venture yesterday. We had the original, the spicy, onion rings and chips.
The original was juicy, tender and tasty. The spicy was the same but with a nice kick to it. The chips were beer battered and good and the onion rings were amazing.
If you want a good burger experience I defiantly would recommend this place
So far, my favourite burger place. I have tried a few burger places and B2B Altona takes the cake! Burgers are nicely filled and a good size (I am never left feeling hungry). Burgers are juicy and super tasty. That's only the beginning, the onion rings are the best in the biz, as are there shakes. Just be sure to order 1 of everything. B2B Altona is slightly cosy if you don't mind narrow spaces.

We had the meaty, the spicy, and original, and everything was very tasty. Well fried chips, and the oreo shakes was gorgeous to go with the burger. Price a bit dearer but I got what I paid.
Never fails to satisfy! Food is seriously amazing plus the staff are kind of quirky. Bonus - perfect pitstop if you’re playing Pokémon Go around the area.

Between 2 Buns. A restaurant that literally focuses on what is between the buns offering a sample of beefs, vegetarian options and chicken, as well as their exquisite B2B sauce. Emily and I have been here before and recall being satisfied with their burgers so we knew we had to return. Situated on the shore of Altona Beach Pier, this makes for a perfect pit stop after a beautiful sunny day at the beach or even as a n intermediary for relaxation following your meal. Or better yet, perhaps shamefully, a pit stop during your Pokemon Go adventures (Trust me, I used to frequent this area).
Ordering the Farmyard, the classic and a double chocolate milk shake, we were very pleased with what we had. The milkshake was very well- chocolatey, and the burgers had a nice punch to them due to the nicebun and sauce. The beef was at times dry, however the chicken and beef combination is something I will now actively pursue thanks to Between 2 Buns. The burgers are definitely good here, just not the best in Melbourne, albeit it does satisfy a burger craving.
Service was quite good considering just how busy they get for a small store, and if that's the case you can expect a wait. However I would still opt to trying this place out and recommend the Farmyard burger. Great burger fix nonetheless!

Heard a lot of hype around this place, so decided to do a road trip and check out the Altona outlet. Burgers were tasty, however for me the patties could have had a bit more moisture - while being tasty was missing some juiciness to the burger. Loaded fries were nice, loaded dog was also a good option for the kids. Would go back for sure.
Everything we had was SO GOOD. We got The Bird burger and The Meaty burger with a Peppermint Slice milkshake and it was so delicious. Everything was fresh, made right in front of you and the service was fanatstic. 10/10 would definitely come here again.
Have been going to Between two buns Altona since they opened, and so happy that we could finally get a decent burger in Altona. Sadly, the last few times the beef patty has been dry and chewy, and with more gristly bits. Disappointing, as the beef used to be soo juicy and tasted amazing. Decrease in meat quality? Or is it possible they were just overcooked the last three times we visited? Whatever the reason, the beef just doesn't seem to taste like it used to, which is a shame.
Definitely a place you'll want to go if you are in the mood for a burger, you can totally understand why they're called between 2 buns! Flavour, Taste, quality. YUM.

Altona has changed a lot since The Dear Luncher was a Little Luncher. It has a bit of style and class these days. It also has a decent burger joint. Between 2 Buns is that burger joint and they were run off their feet. Demand for the product was extremely high this beautiful Spring day. Sampled was The Classic for $9.50, some beer battered fries and a Double Chocolate shake. Quite a decent burger. Patty prepared rather uniquely according to their signage. Hints of pepper. The bun was perhaps just a little dense, but it held things together well. Gr8 efforts m8's. Worth a visit if you're down at the beach, punters.
The food is top notch, but turn down the music, guys. The lady at the counter had to ask my name four times, and it's one syllable.
Not everyone wants to eat amidst deafening house music. This is coming from a drummer in a heavy rock band. I love loud noise, but your shop's too much. Again, the food is spectacular.
Well made and great tasting burgers. They're not too oily and have a great balance in flavours. The chips also are served hot which is great. I've been here many times and would come back in the summer. Highly recommend!

Burgers are amazing, the bbq fries are 10/10 and the shakes are pretty good too, the only reason i cant give this a higher rating is the pricing, for 2 people you can easily spend 50$ and still not be fully satisfied
Tried here when grilld was packed and couldn't get 11 kids in. So glad we did. Best burgers around. So tasty this will now be our go to! Only small thing is no kids burgers so my daughter only eats half. Bit of a waste but she isn't getting half of mine!
This place is 10 stars in my opinion. Never had a bad experience and my partner and I have managed to get many out of town friends and family hooked. The burgers are just the best burgers hands down! Service is quick, lil pricey but Cheeper than other burger joints, and worth paying a little more for the best.
I usually only give a 4.5 max in my reviews cause I believe businesses always need room for growth but B2B has it going on and it's definitely the best in the street!

Both times I had the double and the patties were cooked really well, had proper seasoning and just overall was an unexpectedly nice burger. I also struggled to finish it. I usually make the trek out to the city for a burger because honestly I didn't expect the west to have a great burger place haha. I will definitely be trying out the other burgers
I've also tried a Kit Kat thickshake on a separate visit and it's a great big shake! You do get a lot and the thickshake they make is a lesson to a lot of other burger joints on how to make a good shake
Overall my only criticism is that the burgers might be slightly better if the bun was a bit fresher? I don't know, there's just something that could be better about the buns. Maybe needs to be more toasted?

Love the fit out and the fact we can see them make the burgers you eat. Very efficient production line. Waited about 20 minutes for takeaway when there was a queue out the door. Very flavoursome and the patty was very juicy. Beer battered chips were nicely crisped. Nice park across the road and few hundred metres from the beach. Would come back if i was in the area again.

Luckily B2B is the closest and some of the best burgers and chilli cheese fries I've had.
Friendly staff and generous serving sizes that are tasty.
Although the burgers are on the small size the taste and quality makes up for it. Staff are super friendly. I went for "the spicy" and gives it the thumbs up, will come back to try the others. The Oreo shake is absolutely delicious!!!!

One of the best burgers in Melbourne, forget 8-bit and all those other over hyped places. This place is consistently amazing. Ingredients are fresh, burgers are juicy without being greasy and chips are a bit different to the standard fare but they are delicious. I love taking people here who are visiting Altona, they can't believe we have such a quality place hidden away here, it won't be hidden for long though me thinks.
I had "The Double" and it was a great burger, the only thing keeping it from a 5/5 burger was the bread, too sweet. If I was to order another one of these I'd get tomato and pickles to freshen it up. A great burger and a great spot to eat one on a summers day.
Was pleasantly surprised by this place. A friend recommended I go to the one in Sunbury a few days earlier and just by chance happened to find myself here in Altona. Burger was really good, just the right about of greasy, well cooked meat, cheese was melted. Chips were decent too, not sure if hand made, but even if they weren't it didn't bother me at all (normally it does, I'm picky). Would definitely come here again. Was a great feed.
Came here on Saturday around 6pm and we managed to dine in. We had heard great things about this place and we weren't disappointed. The Dirty Fries are a must (but rather filling) and the Meaty burger was by far the juciest most flavoursome burger I have had. Loved it!
We both had the classic burger, which was well constructed and the perfect burger size to fit in your hands, and also to eat while leaving room for sides. The patty was great and the condiments well balanced. The overall burger was moist without being a soggy mess, and very tasty. The chilli cheese fries were more like soft fat chips with soggy toppings (that were barely spicy) and we wished we hadn't gotten them. There's very limited and uncomfortable bench seating inside, which don't get wiped down, and annoyingly most of the seats are taken up by people waiting for their takeaways. It's probably a lot more convenient to take the food to go.

I attended this place with a friend on the first week of opening and was unimpressed with soggy chips and a mediocre tasting burger. Another friend wanted to try it today so I gave in and I'm glad I did as it looks like they have really picked up their game!
Today I ordered the double burger and a large fries to share between two people. There was a queue and a subsequent 10 minute wait as they were busy (this wasn't a problem) but when we came back to the store someone else had taken our order by mistake. This was rectified by the staff and they made us a fresh new burger and fries and compensated with a free drink.
Burger was absolutely delicious, smoky bacon, juicy patties and excellent sauce. I do agree with other reviewers that this burger appears not as large as some other competitors however the double (at $14, perhaps a little $$) has more than enough calories / fillings to satisfy. I shared this burger and to be honest if you can eat a whole double burger and chips and not feel bloated /sick, kudos to you.
Chips were very hot and the batter was tasty. Last time the chips were sitting under the lamp for a while and were not fresh. Fresh chips made all the difference. I hope they keep this up.

A suggestion is to give customers a receipt with an order number / name that is required to be presented to staff and checked when their order is given to them.
I brought the classic burger, and absolutely loved it. The meat was very crisp and the salad was fresh. Good amount of sauce was used so the balance was good. The portion is small I have to say, not your typical burger size.@
On a recent trip to see how neighbourhood and investment friendly Altona is, there was some admiration for the nearby beach and park. It doesn't seem like the Altona village has caught up to its neighbours in terms of food options yet, but the burger place seemed to be doing good trade with a bit of wafting smell down the road. And the location across the road from a park which was hosting some kind of children's fair made it nice for people-watching.
Loved this place! Yes i had to sot outside in the cold to eat my meal as dining area is small but well worth it. Burgers are delicious and the chilli cheese fries were yumm. Lots of smiles from people who served us which was great. Will be back again!
Best chicken burgers I've had in Melbourne. Beef burgers good too. Hot dogs, shakes and chips not bad. Limited seating, so everyone else please stay away. During fine weather though it's certainly feasible to eat in the park opposite.

I have been in Melbourne for one year and half and I have been looking for a good shake all this time, so I have tried quite a few.
I am so glad today I found not only a good one but the best so far.
I tried the Kit Kat Shake, it was just perfect, it was THICK as shakes should be, from the top to the bottom of the glass, it didn't melt at all, which is great.
From the moment I spotted the ingredients on the shelf I new these shakes were promising, they are made with real ingredientes, it is not only syrup like most places (a disgrace those syrups in my opinion)
I am looking forward to try them all.

Realized I haven't left a review for this place yet, silly of me as we go there a lot.
We love B2B. It's exactly what Altona needed. They do the best shakes you'll ever try - no need for fancy freak shake toppings, these are basically whichever treat name you've chosen blended into a delicious milkshake. My pick is the Ferrero Rocher, but don't overlook the classic double choc (it has chunks of chocolate in it)
The burger selection is small, but you can pretty much mix and match whatever toppings you choose. I like to get their classic burger, but I swap out the beef patty for chicken (their chicken patty is amazing, but I don't love the coleslaw burger it is currently offered in. Nothing wrong with the burger, just not my taste). Dirty fries are also amazing - although sometimes we go simple and just get them with cheese and a bit of B2B sauce on the side.
Half a mark lost because the seating arrangements really are too small (not such an issue in summer as Altona has plenty of parkland to eat in, but definitely problematic in winter) and because they can be a bit slow when busy.
Very small dining area, especially noticeable on colder days when the queue and diners try to all squeeze indoors. Good thing the burgers are worth it (being in the cold). When in Altona, this place will be one of my top picks for a meal.

A cold Friday night saw us make the small drive down to Altona to try this place. The place is small and indoor seating is limited but the place is inviting and the service is good.
We ordered a Classic, 2 x Doubles, The Bird and some cheesey fries. Service is quick given the line and we get our food without waiting too long. The Double is great, juicy well cooked and seasoned patties with an excellent inhouse B2B sauce which is almost like a tangy/spicy mayo. The broiche bun is soft and sweet too which makes devouring the burger fairly easy. The Bird is also very good. The coleslaw is average however the star of the show here is the fried chicken fillet. Crispy, tasty and goes very well with the sauce and bun. The cheesy fries is also good but not great. The cheese sauce is rather plain and could do with a little bit extra zing. The beer batter fries is good though and makes up for the sauce.
Cons would be the need for some more indoor seating and toilets for the colder months however current set out would be good for a hot summers night. Price is fair for what you get but overall a good burger joint!
There may be a cue, but you need to ask yourself why there is a cue. And the answer is the awesome burgers are worth the wait. After being well and truly full after the double, I wanted to have another because it would be worth the weight! I'll be back for the burgers, the cheesy bacon fries and of course the stacks of Pokemon outside the door too 😉
Visited Altona for the first time thanks to Pokémon Go. But all that hunting made me hungry. So thought I would give B2B a go.
Not a huge venue. So limited seats inside. But plenty of spots to eat near the beach right down the street.
Burgers were pretty solid. Probably wouldn't travel all the way from the northern suburbs for them. But would eat them again if I was around the area for sure.
Shakes were so good. Probably the highlight for me. Coming in a close second were the cheese fries which had what tasted like cream cheese melted over it. Very interesting.
Will have to try out some of the other items next time I head in that direction on my Pokémon adventures.
Customer service is so/so and set up isn't the great but the burgers are fantastic. Biggest complaint is price wise a burger, drink and chips can be a bit pricey for what you get the portion size isn't big considering how competitive the burger industry in Melbourne these days if in the area and the weather is decent grab a burger and fries go sit in the park Or beach across the road for lunch.

Between 2 Buns is a solid local offering in a category that has plenty of great competition. Thankfully for between 2 buns, it's closest competition is a few suburbs away.
Chips were seasoned well and the chilli was delicious. While it's a got a solid burger offering, enough to satisfy most, I opted for one of their hotdogs, and it didn't disappoint. Fluffy roll and toppings complimenting the dog. Bonus points for having bottled root beer on their drinks menu.
Cozy little place in winter, closed early tonight after the usual dinner rush. I'd expect some wait times in the warmer months though.

There wasn't a lot to fault with the burgers from Between 2 Buns. The consistency was spot on for each burger ordered. From the Double Burger with added jalapenos, to the Bird (fried chicken burger) and even adding their fried chicken into the double which was a great move and I highly recommend, all the flavours gelled perfectly well together.
Nice soft patties, succulent fried chicken, crispy bacon and a good sauce mix, what else do you need? Well, the dirty fries and a Ferrero Rocher milkshake are on another level!

Came here lastnight. I ordered "The BIRD" and it was way better than I had expected! I loved my fries with cheese sauce. My husband ordered the THE DOUBLE and added chicken, fried with bacon and BBQ sauce. He absolutely loved it! Perfect location to open up.

Excited to try this place as frequent visitors to Altona and was not disappointed. The food was great plenty of flavour and perfectly juicy. I got the spicy burger and my girlfriend got the meaty burger and we both very impressed and both love to try the best burgers around.

Customer service was so/so because i was waiting in line but they served the person behind me?!? Nevertheless, the delicious burgers made up for it. The burger itself was decent sized and the flavours were all there, the patty was juicy & cooked to perfection, the chicken was nice and tender and the cheese chips were very satisfying. Overall the combination of flavours worked really well with each other and i would recommend this place to all who is around the altona beach area!

I like it, each time the burger and chilli cheese fries have been ready in reasonable time, and they get busy in there little store there. I wouldn't eat in though, get fairly crowded on the bench seats.
Overall the food is tasty and any place that brings American style chilli cheese fries is already a winner.
One thing I got annoyed at one day is I went down to the beach t eat my fries and there was no fork...no big issue, just drove home and ate there.
Price is reasonable. Burgers are priced well, but the Chilli Cheese Fries coming in at $9...hmm, well I enjoy them.
I like it, will go again.
Stumbled across this place on the way to Altona Beach. Service was great; the staff were friendly and attentive. The Classic was simple, fresh, and made really well. I do have to say that The Bird was my favourite. It was juicy, and everything was really well proportioned. Delicious! The cheese & bacon fries and Ferrero Rocher shake were also pretty good. Will definitely be back!
Its a big statement but I'm going to call it! The BEST burger I have ever had!
A beautifully buttery brioche bun, a beef patty that has flavour to knock you over and fresh salad ingredients. A-maz-ing! The chilli on the fries... WOW. Oh, and don't get me started on those shakes!! I will be back to work my way through the menu.
Finally... A burger joint that has meat that tastes like real meat instead of macca's burger "meat".
Was really happy with the burger although fries could have been a bit better.
Will definitely be back again soon to tackle another burger!
