Support your local cafes.... These guys are trying their best and it was great to see. Large variety of pies, coffee was good the chicken burger was fresh and tasty and you have a large selection of sandwiches on offer. Chop, chop, c'mon n check them out

Beautiful café on Altona's converted outdoor dining district with a lovely ambiance. Service was quick and efficient, coffee was great and food was excellent value for money. This nutella pancake with vanilla ice cream was exquisite! The gelato was just melting over the crushed hazelnuts and chocolate syrup and dripping over a stack of four enormous pieces of perfectly cooked pancakes!

How good is this place, pies are amazing best pies around , and the service, they go above and beyond. Chris is an amazing bloke and operator and has a great team working for him. Only thing wrong bulldogs supporter , they should be on the red and white!!! 😂😂😂😂

Good food and coffee! Staff is friendly and attentive! Been there more than once, and I can only recommend if you're in the neighborhood!

Just had a fantastic coffee and sandwich INSIDE the cafe. Sooooooo good to be able to dine in. Come on Altonians, let’s get back inside for our coffees and meals 👍🏻👍🏻😀😀. Thanks Chris and the team for welcoming us back in.

The Owner was lovely and was the reason we purchased but the other staff were rude as, almost walked away pretty poor service.

Best in the West I’d rate this place 10 stars if I could the owner and his staff are amazing friendly funny down to earth people the coffee food and service is 10 out of 10 I would highly recommend this place .

I have breakfast every Saturday with friends. Service & food is spot on. Have been going there for around 5 years or so. All the staff are really friendly.

Have been coming here for a few years now. Biggest drawcard are the staff. The coffee is darn good too. On the occassion of eating, we have not been disappointed with sizing, taste and cost. Kids enjoy a good selection of treats.

It was a fabulous place. The toasted banana bread was delicious and my latte fabulous. The staff were bright, friendly and obviously loved. One staff member knocked some crockery down and managed to catch it and the whole cafe clapped and cheered. Such a happy place. And they supported my Doggies. Go Doggies. �

The food was really good. I had tacos and Mexican chips with a delicious sauce, my other half had Fajitas that he was very impressed with. The Mexican punch was very refreshing with a generous slice of watermelon. And the staff are lovely, very courteous and happy.

Friendly service and our Saturday morning staple for coffees after a gym session and/or early morning walk. Haven’t eaten there but what I’ve seen coming out of the kitchen looks fantastic.

This cafe has it all ... Great service from very friendly staff, delicious food, very dog-friendly, indoour/outdoor seating and close to parking. It's our favourite cafe when we want to catch up over morning tea or lunch in a friendly, relaxed environment.

Lovely neighbourhood cafe which is very much part of the community fabric. The Aussie burger will blow you away, both in size and taste. The variety of pies on offer are also great! Perfect spot after an active morning at the dog beach.

Fresh squeezed Orange Juice, perfectly poached eggs, impressed with the quality of food and the price. nice to sit outside with the dogies too, will definitely be returning

I visit the Salt n Pepa Cafe before school, when I can and I always order the gluten free banana bread warmed up with butter and tea, tastes amazing, especially in the winter time !! Staff are lovely and service is fast !!

Food and coffee is lovely.  I've returned to this place after some time and drawn in by nice fillings.  My collegues also now coming along for the same.  My frequent request "an open sandwich".  Let me clarify, please omit ONE slice of bread.  Till one day I am told, sorry management have said, No can do.  No open sandwiches.  Really?, that's an issue.  So I should accept that because I'm the customer, and you provide the service.  hhm ok, I'll take my open sandwich elsewhere and just like that, you have lost business.

Not bad service is ok, food is your standard breakfast items but I'd say it isn't too expensive considering how much other places in the area charge. If your looking for a reasonably price (abet boring) breakfast and good coffee SnP is worth a pop by

Food: Very average indeed, We ordered Bacon and eggs,ordered eggs with mushrooms, baked beans, avocado and spinach, and the banana bread, along with 2 hazelnut flat whites, pretty much everything was lukewarm, eggs were watery, baked beans ordinary, avocado wasn't bad, spinach too little and flavourless, bacon average, best things were the banana bread (yum) although pretty thin, the coffee (which was lukwarm despite us asking for extra hot), and the mushrooms which were tasty but barely warmService: The lady who took our order,  think her name was Lisa, was super friendly, got our orders perfectly and repeated it back to us, top notch<br/><br/>Ambience: It's basically and old school mum and pop cafe, whilst this may have it's charm, it's still a bit stuck in the last decade and along with the food could use a good upgrade, I did like the fact that there was a free newspaper on every table though, don't even get that at maccas

They had served up the cheapest, nastiest smoked salmon on the market. I took it out of the wrap and fed it to my dog. I felt bad for the dog for doing this. My vegetarian daughter received the poached eggs on toast with mushrooms. She had a disgusted look on her face, I’m pretty sure these mushrooms are from a tin We left the vicinity with a sickening feeling in our stomachs.

Lack of Customer Service!. I went to this cafe for the first time only a couple of days ago, and warning to everyone...DONT BOTHER WASTING YOUR TIME! <br/><br/>I was served by a young bubbly brunette girl, ordered a coffee and cake deal they have on offer. The girl was too busy speaking to her friend working to even acknowledge what I was asking for! She asked me what I was after 3 times, it was becoming a joke! She handed me a broken piece of sponge cake, I asked for a different piece and she rolled her eyes and made a comment under her breath, handed me a new piece and from then on she was nothing but abrupt and seemed very condescending. <br/><br/>As I sat down, she made the comment to her friend that "I will spit in her coffee, see how much she likes that!". This is absolutely appalling! I have never seen such terrible service provided! I didn't even drink any of the coffee nor will I ever return to this terrible place! <br/><br/>Disappointing after being told by so many friends of how great this cafe is.

Great food & Service. We regularly visit Salt & Pepa in Altona as the coffee and food are great and the service is A1. A vibrant café where the staff are very friendly and always willing to cater for any of our special requests. Highly recommended for your visit to Pier St.

Great experience. Great staff and owner. Visit regularly with family for coffee and cake. Staff kind and always happy to have a chat. The relaxed atmosphere makes it a great place to sit and have a coffee, especially on Market Tuesdays. Will definitely be back!

I didn't think much of S&P. The staff I encountered showed little interest and the whole feel of the place was Coles Cafeteria like. Best avoided. To add insult to injury they don't even offer customers the use of their toilet :(

Disappointed. Terrible, rude service! Would not go again or recommend to friends.

Nice Slushies. I have only been once, I had a foccacia but it was more a flat bread and not much filling inside, was supposed to be chicken and avocado and for the price yes I was dissapointed and wouldnt order again. But I have to say their slushies are good. They always seem to be busy though.

Coffee is good. Don't go for the food - they use cheap bread for scrambled eggs, unlike most cafe's that will have thicker sour dough options.

Ok food and great milkshakes and coffee. I enjoyed it
