This wonderful chef, Sarin, has the philosophy of pasture to plate ... fresh home grown herbs & beautiful spices ... he knows how to build flavours from the base up ... outside India, this is the best I have had - so great to go to a restaurant & be blown away by one amazing dish after another. We moved here recently & feel blessed to have such a foodie on our doorstep - yaaay & well done. I am officially addicted to this place!
Let me tell ya folks. If you are ever out in Melbourne's Wild West please do yourself a favour grab a meal and a chat with some of the World's best Indian cooks at OYE Bombay literally right across the road from Westona train station it couldn't be easier. When it comes to Tikka Masala my palate is quite discerning with that in mind I have to say that if the Tikka I got there tonight wasn't the best I've ever had then it was so close it may as well have been and the small entrée I had to nibble on was an eye opener the freshest and most refreshing chutney I definitely have ever had made from herbs grown from the cooks very own garden flavours so well balanced minty but definitely not overpoweringly so. Whatever your choice of dish may be, you will be oh so glad that you chose to have it prepared by the artists at OYE Bombay. I will definitely be going back might even take my time when I do return and enjoy the great conversation and food further by dining in
If i could give a 10 star i would. Starting with the food specifying the stuffed mushrooms and the dal makhani was wooow a must try with the amazing service and so welcoming. A must visit restaurant in the west. Thank you for the great ambience and service starting from entree to dessert all was amazing cun't just have enough
Took some fellow UK friends there on Saturday night. We all had a fantastic meal, the staff were great and attentive and really wanted us to be happy. the food was really tasty with well presented dishes and well priced too. That was my second visit and definately not my last!
And chips/fries on the menu as well.....just like the curry houses in my home town. Perfect!!!

Absolutely stunning! Beautifully prepared and presented dishes. The best chicken tikka I've ever had.
Pure quality.
To Sarin & Raj.
Thank you for our first visit to Oye Bombay. We had been regulars to Gulatis, and it's great to see your new restaurant is following a wonderful tradition. We will certainly be back and we will let others know that Oye Bombay is well worth visiting.
Great suburban food joint!!
Food was excellent and the beer matching was brilliant
Just tried Oye Bombay for the first time... What can I say? It was AMAZING!!! Best Indian, I have had since being in the U.K. years ago...Whilst they have only been open for a little while and are still only doing takeaway, it was well worth the 30min round trip!! Yummo!
Best Indian I have had in forever! Look forward to going back regularly. Love the new look of the place as well. Keep up the great work!
Excellent normally go to Aanagan but gave this place a try and will now keep going back. Very generous serves and great variety. Butter chicken was great but the Bhuna was the standout.
Delicious food, we love it. All dishes have been fantastic. Very friendly staff. The beef madras in particular is a favourite. Definitely the best Indian food in the west
Great curry house in the western suburbs. The missus and children love the butter chicken while I’m more of a beef madras fan. The keema naan and saffron rice are both delicious even eaten by themselves. Our goto curry house that is consistently good.
Great restaurant. Most of the vegetarian options can be made Vegan on request. Clean and tidy. Food was so delicious. Very friendly staff and fantastic value for money. The owner/chef told us he would come up with a vegan dessert. Highly recommend.
In Three Simple words "Best Indian Food" Every dish has a lot of finesse and balance and is a treat to your taste buds! I was longing for good Indian food and nothing gets better than this😍
Fantastic meal. It ticks all the boxes. Innovative menu with herbs fresh from the Chef’s garden. Right combination of spice and flavour. Wonderful dining experience and well priced to boot. Will be back.
Amazing indian food, slightly tempered to the ausie palate . Loved their biryanis. If you are missing indian food in Melbourne then definitely visit.
Altona Indian restaurant, Oye Bombay serves up an enticing mix of flavours and spices to transport diners to the streets and homes of India.
BEST indian food we have eaten in Australia! We are originally from UK and struggled for years to find anything decent! The staff and service are great, simple menu that has some unusual dishes and the usual and it just gets better and better each time we visit. Even spiced shoe string fries!! Reasonably priced and good choice of alcohol available or BYO.
Food was delicious and presented well. Service was very slow. Great ambiance. Friendly staff. Would definitely go again. Recommended dishes : Tandoori Chicken and Butter Chicken. So far only tried these and were good.

Recently moved to Altona, very happy to find this place in our neighbourhood. Great food (tried the lamb rogan josh and dhal makhani, would order both dishes again), friendly and attentive staff. We'll be back for sure!
Visited this place on a quiet weekday.
The location is good and well lit.The interiors are contemporary and neat.
Coming to the food we loved the veg starter and the main meal. The veg curries tasted good and fresh and rotis too. Service is good and even the owner/chef was prompt and friendly as well.
Fantastic Indian!!! The food was amazing. Great flavours and not oily at all. Good menu selections. The lamb sagg was the best I’ve had in awhile. The service was attentive and lovely. We will be back.
We had a delicious dinner here. There were four of us and everyone loved their meals. The palak paneer and the eggplant dish were excellent! Some of the freshest Indian I’ve had in a long time. The decor is more modern than the previous Indian restaurant and the staff were lovely. This will be our Indian go to from now on.
The best Indian in the inner west Melbourne. Experienced the best butter chicken ever. Really soft naan bread. Staff are attentive and chef owner pays attention to detail.
No wonder they have been recommended by The Herald Sun as a STAND OUT restaurant in the west. A must try in my opinion for the flavor it offers.
Under new management as of mid 2017. Lamb saag was a stand out! Very decent. The lentil dhal was yummy too. Excellent service! Give it a go!
Excellent food, real authentic Indian and attentive staff, will definitely be back! Food delicious served in warm and friendly environment. Thank You!
