Recently visited Australia (Melbourne) for a holiday and came across this restaurant, with the most authentic Indian cuisine I could find out there. I highly recommend this place, as the staff there were very welcoming and made my dining there a very memorable experience. The food was good and so were the people, would definitely dine again.
The best Indian in Melbourne!!! Currently in the best food coma of my life! Indian is my favourite cuisine so I can be a bit of a snob and the Spice Yard delivers 110% ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Enjoyed the food and ambience! It is a new place that has recently opened. The staff is helpful and service is good. Don't miss the Missi roti and saag!
Was told how good this place is and had dinner here on my birthday. The food was to die for! I'm looking forward to my next visit

Thank you so much. I did my civil wedding at the Restaurant. The service was excellent with helpful staff. Food was very yummy; Chicken malai and chickpea salad. Thank you once again all the guests left happily. It was more than my expectation. Thanks Ajay for the food. I will definately come back for another function.

So glad Pier street now has an amazing curry house. Magnificent food, you have not lived until you've had the lamb cutlets. But best of all, the service and staff are sooooo friendly and nice which is not always the case in similar restaurants. 3 visits and they have not missed a beat. Love it.
Never Disappointed.....Very authentic Food and great Customer service....Highly Recommended...Keep up the good food Guys!!!

Went there for the first time on Saturday night and loved it, food was amazing, waitresses were lovely and reasonably priced.
Absolutely fantastic! Amazing flavours, full of spices and very authentic. Lots of love put into their food. Highly recommended.
Best BEST indian in the West. You want authentic, for those who know me, I'm picky. This place ticked my boxes.

I know my Indian food inside out. Tonight was how the ‘burbs’ can pull off great Indian food and we should all check our ‘expectations’ of where and how food Indian food can be in the suburbs - at the door. The lovely Ekam greeted and made us very welcome. The menu is extensive and if this platform allows it, I will include all the pages of the menu. It’s long and extensive, with plenty for the vegetarian.
We had the oh so traditional chicken tikka, with lamb korma, aloo paratha, rice and raita. But first came the papadams with a trio of condiments that set the scene for the next courses. This part of the meal is ‘on the house’.
Portion sizes were good and served at reasonable intervals.
Wine list excellent with Pepperjack Shiraz a nice addition to the reds section. Full bar available.
Wheelchair friendly. High chairs available. Large restaurant that could easily cater for functions over 100. A must try in Altona.
Ordered via Menulog on a Friday night. Food beat the Menulog delivery estimate easily - a great start! The lamb korma was delicious and a standout. The lamb was tender and the sauce tasty and suitable for those in the house who don’t enjoy spicy food. The butter chicken was also very tasty with a slight kick to it (again probably suitable for anyone who doesn’t like spicy food). It’s taken us a long time to try this place after watching all the changes over the years but will definitely order from here again.
Excellent food good service great flavours. Check out the butter chicken and lamb nilgiris plus the vegetable curry. Great naan too. Mango lassi scored as well.

Visited on a Wednesday night and as expected, it was a very quiet night with only one couple dining in. The place is lovely and has a nice welcoming touch to it. We ordered the butter chicken, the lamb rohanjosh and the beef vindaloo together with rice and naan, absolutely delicious and full of flavours! The lassi drink was not the best we had though. Service was excellent and the price was affordable. I would come back👍
Ordered chicken curry and few other food items...Very authentic Food and great Customer service....Highly Recommended...Keep up the good food Guys!!!
Had takeaway from here. Delicious food. Lots of lovely paneer options. Will definitely be back. I hope the zucchini onion bhaji special makes its way onto the regular menu.
Got delivery from here tonight. They beat the menulog suggested time, so good work there.
Food was pretty good but a bit mixed. The palak paneer was AMAZING, I could eat tubfulls of that stuff. The chicken korma was pretty good, I’ve had better but it was tasty enough. Lamb saag was nice but nothing special. Naan was only ok. I think we’ll be back, if nothing else but so I can drown myself in a vat of palak paneer.
I just wish they’d do something to make the interior more friendly and inviting. This is about the 4th venture we’ve seen in this shopfront (a few Indian restaurants, one Sri Lankan). They’ve all sat there, large, empty and uninviting. And nothing ever really changes about each one. A better layout, maybe with a bar towards the front so it doesn’t look so cavernous and empty would maybe help this one from going the way the others have.
We ate here recently and could find many vegetarian options. We tried so many dishes and they were all fantastic and amazing. The flavours were exquisite. The food comes out quickly and has generous portion sizes. Atmosphere was wonderful and the service was attentive, everything was provided with a smile. Just loved it!! It has definitely opened my eyes and it will certainly visit again.
This is a new place on Pier street. It has a nice ambience and too top it up the foodie fabulous!! Missi roti is to die for !!! The portion size is pretty decent !
+1 🌟 for ambiance.
+2 🌟 for awesome, caring, attentive hosts.
+1 🌟 wide variety of menu.
-1 🌟 for watery curry, is a especiality of the house - cashew Gobi.
Was here at 5 Feb, evening.
Tried this restaurant with three friends this week. Wow! What delicious food. Everything was cooked to perfection, hot and so fresh. I am a vegan, but all effort was made to explain which food was suitable for me. Plus the staff were so pleasant and helpful. Cannot wait to return and let my family try the food as well. Thank you :-)
I recently had a much enjoyed girls luncheon at this place & I was so surprised at how wonderful the food was . I love to cook Indian food & I know my Indian pretty well & I always feel let down when going for a curry but honestly go and try this new place In Altona. You will be pleasantly surprised at there modern menu .. just let them feed you ! & make sure you try a variety of things like Lamb chops & Paneer which was my most favourite . The staff are also wonderful & very friendly ..we can’t wait to go back . Very well done !
Have ordered delivery a few times - the food is always delicious, and great variety to order from., with many yummy choices you don't typically find in the area. Recently dined-in - the service was top notch - and our family really enjoyed the evening and dinner overall.
Amazing!! The best Indian food I’ve ever had!! Service was friendly and relatively quick. Had the eggplant masala with roti and it was divine. No other Indian place I’ve been to can compare. Been here a couple other times and was always fantastic.
The food was great and nice customer service too!
