Review Phoenix Charcoal Chicken - Annandale

Michael Gadiel
This is a great little local with good no frills offerings, with friendly fast and efficient service. This is a business that knows it knitting, sticking to the basics and doing them well. A vastly superior offering to Chargrill Charlie’s around the corner.

Price was very reasonable. Great food, great service, great value. Will come back again. The servings were big and the food was fresh. Good selection of food.

Great hangover cure. The gravy is so good, perfect for drowning hunks of chicken in. Salads are decent too.

Great food, fantastic service, very good value...chicken and stuffing mmmm, burgers are also a must...

Good size burger and chips for a good price. Can't ask for much more than that. Garlic sauce was a bit disappointing though

Dined here a few times now, ordered the same thing each time (the Phoenix chicken burger) truly unique and reasonable price. The chips are of fish and chip standard which is among the best quality, and beats any neighbouring take away shop. Definitely will be returning!

Ordered here a dozen times. Always yummy options, big sizes, clean and tasty! Favourite is the chicken penne salad and chicken burger with chips n gravy. Good prices too

Easily the best chicken joint in Sydney. always fast, fresh and friendly.

Used to live near here and always thought of this place as a cut above the typical takeaway with better quality chicken and burgers and a good range of salads and cooked meals.  Nothing's changed, the chicken was juicy with great stuffing and the salad was good.  The peri peri burger had good chicken and sauce but a horrid thick possibly stale bun.  Also, the prices have gone up to fancy-food level and, even though it's better than the average suburban chicken place, it seems fairly expensive now.

Ordered Ubereats from here. Got one fish burger and one scotch fillet burger. The food was ok - definitely not fresh and gourmet but it was super cheap so I can’t complain. A little more sauce probably would have done the trick. Had the fish burger. The fish was the frozen kind so it was pretty flavourless and oddly textured. The tartare sauce didn’t really taste like tartare sauce either (more like a runny mayo?). My partner didn’t really think much of his scotch fillet burger either. It was lacking some more sauce. Very simple burgers at pretty decent prices ($10-$12 each which includes chips and drink).

Best chickens not flat! All day so disappointing not open on Sundays as I starve this day!! Franco who? Great value have I said enough? The absolute best!

The chips are amazing however the chicken is unseasoned and consistently drier than dried toast.  If the chicken were as good as the chips I'd be in heaven.

Ordered dinner from here and was pleasantly surprised, I'll be ordering from here again. Was so quick and easy and the service was great, can tell this is a family run business.
