Review Star Sushi - Annandale

Charged 4 dollars for 6 pieces of cucumber baby rolls and 4 pieces of avocado and cucumber baby rolls with only half of the normal portion of ingredients presented were not at good value. Also too much sushi vinegar was mixed with rice so it tasted extraordinarily sour. They are simple dishes and yet underwhelmed. Ordered a bowl of spicy pork yakisoba. The favour was there but there was a little portion of pork. It looked likes I was eating scrap of food leftover. Will definitely not visit again - even the sushi section in Groceries tastes better than them.

$3.50 for all plates is good for a sushi train. The problem is it's not a great sushi train. Some of it felt dodgy, which is not what you want when you're eating raw fish. The plates ranged from "fine", "adequate", "serviceable" to "this creamy sauce tastes cheap & sickly" and "is this chicken cooked properly?" I'm giving it 2 stars because the guy in charge of it was friendly and accommodating, it's well priced, and about half the dishes are passable. Would I go here again for another meal? Probably not.

Been going to this place for a few years and loved it. Unfortunately under new ownership this restaurant has changed completely. The sushi train was pretty much empty, no one making fresh sushi at all. All cooking is now done in the kitchen. The ventilation doesn't work at all and you walk into a room smelling like deep fryer. When we left our clothes and hair literally stink! The sushi train itself is old and needs a complete revamp. We had to order from a menu, as there was nothing edible on the train. After 20 minute wait we told them we didn't want our roll anymore. They brought it out and it was so poorly rolled that it didn't even stay together when we tried picking it up. Needless to say we didn't eat it and left. Shocking! Never again!

Horrible experience. Saw a hair in the sushi and called the waiter over and he laughed and said he could not see it. The waiter was arrogant and rude. They also wanted us to eat sushi that was two hours old. If we had that sushi Food poisoning would be a high risk. All ingredients were not fresh and were cold. My partner and I go to Japanese restaurants every week and this is by far the worst experience ever. Neverrrrr going here again. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

We love the sushi here and always found it fresh and well presented. People are very helpful and friendly. It is an easy take home meal and well price.

I have been coming here for years at it must have changed hands. To be honest I'm not one to leave reviews but it needs to be said that this place has seriously gone way downhill. Frozen pieces of raw fish, very Western techniques with sweet sauces that very average and even the soy sauce tasted off. If this was my restaurant I would want to know that the standard was seriously below average. I even had her work colleague tell me how bad it has become but I doubted him and needed to check for myself. Needless to say he was right. Little things like no scallops and no mineral water might be first world problems but this never used to be the case

Wasn't sure what I was going to get when I randomly popped into this place for takeaway but to my surprise the food was absolutely terrific. The wait was a little longer than I'd hoped for but this meant very little once we got home and tasted the food as it was delicious. Will definitely be visiting again.

Pretty good in the area. Nice and good food. Prices are good. Great service. Very attentive, kind and wanting to serve you with special attention. Clean and neat. Open during the day between lunch and dinner which is great when everything else is closed. Good menu too

I stumbled over Star Sushi when on other business on Paramatta Road and so gave it a try for a small a snack that proved a good test. Later, I needed a take away party pack and a few extras over the Christmas period at short notice. I received terrific service and excellent fresh sushi, tasty gyoza and other trimmings. Good quality food at good prices! Highly recommended!

ALL PLATES $3 - can't get this anywhere in Sydney. Always good and always a large variety and you can order anything regardless of whether it's on the train. Amazing sushi :)

Love this place. I work a cross the road from this place, food is fantastic and always fresh I eat there once a week. Great quality at a fair price.

Clean, quick, decent price. It has a calm atmosphere and good lighting! It wasn't too bright and it wasn't fashionably' dim. I just walked there from the other side of Johnston St, really wanting somewhere cool and quiet,where I could eat something quick and healthy. I love sushi trains.The food was decent and the staff weren't rude like one reviewer said. One person wasn't very good at communicating but I didn't take it personally! I'd go back.

Hmmmm. Sometimes the sushi train is fresh and other times it's not, depends on the day and time ! Also found the staff can be rude. Hmm

My family is so fussy about having raw fish. Nevertherless, we all enjoyed the fresh Sashimi and the presentation of served plates. Staff were friendly and the environment was pleasant . I will definately go back again !

Amazing foods and great service. I go there frequently since it's opened. All sushi plates are $3 only and foods are great! Great service as well. Employees are well trained and do wonderful jobs. I love to see more of such high quality sushi restaurant in Sydney! They are just superb!

I've been here twice now - all plates $3! Everything is delicious and fresh. Sashimi here is sensational. Service is great.
