Super helpful staff. Huge menu and good variety. We had prawn crackers, spring rolls, shumai, beef and black bean sauce, vegetable chicken and a large rice. Portions were fairly big.
They have high chairs and are licensed.
I look forward to going here again.

I tried the Malay fried rice with beef. Really delicious with very big portion. Take away to the hotel room with 2 beers and empty tummy. Too goooooood!
Great spot for a quick lunch... stopped here for lunch on the way to port cambell.... had singapore noodles...fried fish....pork... food again here was great...portions are small though... being a tourist town i guess its ok...
Food was even tastier than I thought given the rating. We had some standard dishes: sweet and sour pork, lemon chicken, beef with cashews and vegetables, and Singapore Noodles. Serving sizes were very generous and these four dishes easily fed our family of 5. We were all pleasantly surprise baby the flavours, quality, and size of serving. Staff could have been a little more attentive to our needs for drinks, water, etc., as it wasn't a busy evening, though that was a minor issue for an otherwise enjoyable evening.
Bought takeaway first night on holiday in apollo bay and all though the wait on the food was abit longer then you average chinese takeaway restraunt the food was well worth it as it was full of flavour only fault is that price is abit steep but is understandable since the location of the restraunt overall decent place to eat either for eat in or takeaway
My partner and I felt like Chinese in the local area, called up to find there was a 60 minute wait and they only had one table remaining which we took.
On arrival we were warned of the wait which we accepted and they were so apologetic and gave us drinks on the house which wasn't expected. The food was amazing and I would recommend to try this place if in the area!

Yes the wait was long but it was worth it! Fresh vegetables and tasted amazing and wasn't overly salty!! We were pre warned about the wait for food which was great!

I am a local and have been to this restaurant every couple of weeks for many years. Really popular with the locals and tourists, recently expanded their restaurant to a second large dining room which was a really good idea as the original dining room was always too busy and over packed IMHO.
Really big menu which includes of course good Chinese fare, lots of Vegetarian options (which is very unusual in Apollo Bay) and other popular Asian like Curries, Laksa, Thai and Malaysian dishes.
Weirdly enough, (but rather coolly IMHO) as requested (and as they are open so late in a town which usually goes to sleep at 8pm (be warned Melbourne ppl!)) they even do western style chips, fish & chips, fishermans basket, nuggets and souvlaki (etc) for the late night munchies crowd and I suppose kids who hate asian food.
So great food and service, but as my only real complaint, can get really crazy busy on weekends and holidays with a resulting long wait time on food. Does have a callback service which is good, they basically call you when the food is ready for pickup and so don't waste your time guessing when its ready during the school holidays; only place that does this and really appreciated as I can stay home with the kids and wait, avoiding the crowds and their general tendency to be destructive in public.
Also agree to ignore the other review on this page, they are open. Confusion might be their last table is at 8:50pm and last takeaway at 9:45pm, closing at 10pm. Don't think zomato has the concept of a "last order" or "last table" so guess it cant show the right trading hours. So if you rock up at 10pm to have a meal you would find they are closed, which makes sense cause who would turn up at a restaurant at 10pm and expect to be served when they close at 10pm. Go figure...
Really good restaurant. Ignore the comment about it not being open as it definitely is open. Food and service were great. Food tasted great and was perfect for what we needed after a long drive!
We ordered some takeaway food for dinner and had a suprisingly tasty and spicy hot and sour soup and Malaysian sambal noodles. The portion sizes were good and the prices quite reasonable by Apollo Bay standards. This is a good value and healthy option for the normally pricey Apollo Bay.
Amazing selection of Asian dishes on the menu. This local restaurant was humming on Saturday night with friendly staff and great food. Generous servings and some tasty options left us feeling satisfied.

Way yum!. The menu goes on forever! Food was sensational. Fresh. The little older Asian lady was way cute. Total gem. Served all the guests without help from the (?)owner. Super attentive and even stuck it to a loud, arrogant diner! Will be back for sure!

Incredible food, hands down my favourite restaurant in Apollo Bay. The Pad Thai is probably my favourite thing on the menu but I have not had one meal that hasn't been delicious.

Had dinner there last night and the service was brilliant. Very friendly. Food is amazing and I would recommend everyone go there. Satay chicken is my favourite.
Delicious food with great staff. Hubby and 2 young kids dined here. We had beef and cashew, satay chicken and salt and pepper squid as well as various entrees. The food was divine, best chinese we've had in a long while. I ordered the satay chicken for the children although found this a little spicy for the children, just as well we had the beef and cashew, they happily enjoyed that instead. The salt and pepper squid was amazing. The staff were very helpful. I'm assuming the owner, took time out to show our young children how to use chopsticks. Was a great experience and somewhere we would love to visit again.

Prices a little high, but serving sizes, choice and quality make up for it. We visited the dragon bay inn two times on our recent trip, once for takeaway and another as a restaurant patron. We found the staff really friendly, which unfortunately is not the norm for other apollo bay establishments, a smile every now and then would not hurt people! They have a large menu, possibly too large with the impression being they are trying to give patrons a bit of everything. The kids were happy with the non-chinese offerings such as fish and chips, so we were particularly happy they were on offer.
Tried a broad range of dishes (and yes we ordered fillet steak and it was fillet steak minus all the general meat tendering additives which seem the norm in Melbourne's china town establishments). Everything was good, but we found the best being the seafood and prawn dishes.
Having said that, it is a little pricey when you look at the menu's but the serving sizes are pretty large, which makes up for it overall. Funnily enough we found the whole town is very expensive, like seriously expensive, even for a holiday town, with this one actually being one of the cheapest.
It is a small restaurant area, so more suited to intimate dining than large groups over 10.
Seemed to be the locals haunt, which explains the predominately takeaway trade and how hard it was to find. Worth a look once you have had your fill of pizza and fish & chips, which is over represented in this town.
