🍴Simple but yummy breakfast at #apollobay. BLAT was an enjoyable bagel comprising a generous amount of bacon with lettuce, avocado and tomato. We also got scrambled eggs and bacon on light rye toast that was nicely crisp but nothing special. The pancakes came with butter, berry compote & maple syrup and while of a nice soft texture, was quite pricey for how basic it was (and they didn’t serve maple syrup till we asked).

I’ve been coming to Apollo Bay for years and have never thought to try out Bay Leaf but I’m so glad I did on my most recent visit! Everything from the service, to the atmosphere and of course the food was exactly what we were after. Big thumbs up!
Bay leaf has a great location and makes good coffee. Service on a very busy Saturday was quick. We had eggs on sourdough with various local additions. It’s a great spot for breakfast overlooking the foreshore.
Stopped in for a quick brekkie during a recent ride. Sat outside to enjoy the perfect weather and a view of the park. Ordered simply and the food arrived quickly. Fantastic sourdough was toasted to perfection and the coffee was 10/10. Shame that I couldn’t sit around longer. Staff and food was dynamite. Will definitely be back.

Corn fritters with avo and smoked salmon was incredibly good! Hubby had the Turkish bread toast with bacon cheese egg and appetising chutney . Super friendly service , especially with baby feeding needs . Recommended!
Best breakfast in Apollo Bay. Attentive, friendly wait staff, even when it’s really busy. Lots of breakfast options and we opted for pancakes and the mushrooms & polenta; both were delicious and generous servings. Highly recommend
I have travelled to the Bay for many years and The Bay Leaf is one of the best cafes on the Great Ocean Road.

Stopped here for lunch on Sat on our way through to Warrnambool. I enjoyed the pea & ham soup & hubby enjoyed a foccacia - chicken and bacon. Service was friendly. We got a slice of the caramel and pear cake take away and enjoyed later for afternoon tea - was nice also.
Cute little cafe in the center of Apollo Bay. Very friendly & attentive staff. Only had a take away coffee from here but the service was quick even though they were super busy and the coffee was great!
So here is the deal. Very friendly local staff. Ordered English breakfast tea. Excellent large loose leaf tea with 4 mugs worth of tea from a pot. Then had the bacon and poached eggs on toast with mushrooms. Really delicious. Nicely crispy bacon, tasty mushys, great eggs. And a view of the coast. Thank you for the excellent experience
Lovely cafe, food is nice, service was great. We had the corn fritters which were nice, and the scrambled eggs on toast which was a big hearty serving size. Space is a little pokey, but still a pleasant experience.

The chicken and sweet corn soup was to die for, the Iranian lamb was heavenly and melted in the mouth, and the scallop risotto was a lovely combination of flavours, with a well-sized serve of scallops. Service was lovely and, for the type and quality of food being made, it was reasonably quick. A bit pricey, but worth every cent.
After a long drive from Melbourne, the tour bus let us have some meal at Apolo Bay. Couldnt decide where to eat at first. Because of the journey, I had a slight motion sickness so decided not to eat fried or oily food and try this place instead. We had salmon and a slightly crumbled chicken. It taste good surprisingly ! Well cant compare it with those high class restaurant but seriously their salmon is fresh and taste good ! The chicken also taste really good ! not too cheesey or oily ! Really enjoy our lunch here. For those who had motion sickness can try out this place to avoid oily and fried food. Hope you guys enjoy it ! Cheers ! 😊
My partner wanted me to call this post 'Breakfast roulette @ Bay Leaf ...' as we didn't quite end up eating what we expected! That said, it was still a lovely meal. When I arrived at the counter to order the barista had her hands full and took our order without writing it down. I wanted the mushrooms and he wanted the baked beans, but somehow his order morphed into corn fritters. Luckily that would have been his second choice.
Best on the Bay. Having spent two week-long holidays in Apollo Bay in recent times, I can safely say that the Bay Leaf is at the top of the heap when it comes to Apollo Bay cafes and eateries. The coffee's great, the food innovative and uniformly excellent, and the staff friendly. And if that's not good enough for you, there's a superb selection of local and boutique beers for the discerning holiday-maker. Make this your first stop next time you're in the area.

Our favourite great ocean stop!. Went back yesterday after a great meal 2 years ago and not disappointed! Quality food and Personal service. Can't wait to visit again. Love the squid salad! And reasonable priced toasties for the kids! Love it!
Delicious. Simple but delicious. Friendly and warm staff. We ordered the pancakes with blueberry and a turkish bacon and egg roll - both hit the spot. Would recommend!

Amazing food and service!!!. I was hesitant coming here after seeing some awful reviews yet I can't say I ate at the same place as the ladies running the cafe are fabulous!!!!
We came in for lunch 2 days in a row and had some really great food for lunch. I had the chicken parma which was a high quality chicken breast crumbled with tasty prosciutto and covered in delicious swiss cheese. A huge serve with chips and s great parmesan pear rocket salad. Worth the $22 easily.
The beef burger was awesome. The huge serve again was full of high quality ingredients and the beef was juicy. Lots of chips served in a cute metal container.
The BEST part was those ginger beers... My goodness... Heaven on a hot day after a swim. The little bottle of sparkling wine was crisp and sweet perfect to finish off.
The next visit saw us have the pumpkin pizza which I swapped feta for the goats cheese and it was a huge serve. The soy latte was also perfection.
The lovely women there was the reason we went back. The lady with glasses remembered us and knew we would want the ginger beers! Coming back tomorrow for my birthday breakfast!!
Whether your here for a holiday or passing by in the morning, defiantly try their Bagels as they are to die for. Bacon is cooked to perfection and the dill sauce they put on it is amazing.
The service is average, but the food (bagel) is one of the things you must try before leaving Apollo Bay.
Good coffee, best in the street in my opinion. Have had breakfast here 3 times and the food has exceeded my expectations every time. Also has the most interesting breakfast menu out of all the cafes. Lovely service, happy to recommend this place :)
Absolutely delicious, meals were perfect size and every last detail on the plate down to the garnish was exceptional, i had the housemade baked beans, and though i dont generally like baked beans these were amazing, and the chorizo was incredible, deffiantly coming back and reccomending to anyone else in Apollo Bay
Loved this place!! Ordered two wagyu burgers and they were delicious and fresh! They keep the place lovely and clean, and waitress was really friendly. A much better and healthier option than any of the other appalling and greasy places on the strip.
Wonderful. Partner and I had breakfast twice in a row. Fruit bread, poached eggs and bacon on day 1, turkish bread with egg, bacon and tomato relish & breakfast bagel day 2. Loved the food and staff. The coffee was excellent and we both had orange juice. We were here for five days and nights (Apollo Bay) and tried all the places suggested by urban spoon. This was the standout.
Better breakfast then wickens. My partner and I had breakfast here on a Saturday morning. We were visiting from Melbourne. Loved it. The service was fast and fantastic the food was great. Goes in my top 5 breakfasts ever.

Negotiate a seat and place your order with the owner who seems to have her nose in everything then sit back and enjoy a pleasant enough surround and good quality food.
Good coffee, good food. The menu hasn't changed in years and this is perhaps a reflection of the attitude of the management - who are as consistent with their unwavering menu as they are with their grumpy or otherwise disingenuous service as customers appear to be a real inconvenience to them. But we keep suffering this for the good coffee and excellent breakfast !

Casual home cooked food. This place appears to be run as a hobby as its very casual but friendly in its way. but the food feels homecooked and obviously some love has been put into it. i had a vanilla milkshake which was amazing, and wagyu burger and pumkin pizza for lunch which were both pretty decent. expensive yes, but everywhere in that area is. i'd definately go back, and seeing as i live locally i should imagine that will be pretty soon!
Lots of different dishes.... Not the smiliest of staff, I must admit, but the chefs seem to know what they are doing as the quality of food is very good. Great and interesting specials..go on give it a try, but do bring your own smile!
Great breakfast with some unique options. An excellent location and prompt service, even during the Saturday morning breakfast/coffee rush. The home-made baked beans (as pictured) was exceptional, the chorizo and goat's cheese flavours complimenting eachother memorably. The one letdown was that my husband's bacon was slightly overdone; otherwise a great experience and reasonable value for money. I would love to return to try the mushrooms on polenta!

Lovely place for a decent cup of coffee and a quick bite while on the Great Ocean road. My favourite part was being able to sit outdoors and enjoy the morning sun while having our meal.
Obviously a popular place! For a reason! Good coffee and breakfast. A little bit pricey but I guess they are normal "Ocean road prices" :) very nice and fast service, fresh backed sweets (had the white chocolate/raspberry muffin - $4,50) and good choice of breakfast variations. Also had a look on the lunch menu... Every thing sounded good and because of the breakfast we had, I'm sure it will taste good too! Go ahead!
Toasted sandwich is awesome! My boyfriend is a big fan of burger, and he really fall in love with this burger.
