Review Great Ocean Road Brewhouse - Apollo Bay

Good vibes and even better cheesy garlic bread. My partner enjoyed the extensive beer collection with a lot of local beers - hence the drinking through the region. The staff were very friendly and the owner was lovely. We nibbled on the nachos but had to order another serve of the garlic bread because it was so good. Best pub in Apollo Bay!

We had the seafood share platter....WOW!!! Best platter we have ever enjoyed!! Each element of the platter was delicious and excellent in its own right. As we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the bar tender. We felt like a part of the locals! The bar and restaurant are both also lovely places to sit and enjoy one of the yummy local gins too! We will be back for sure! Thankyou for a great experience!

Called in for lunch. Great looking pub on Main Street in town. Plenty of different spaces to enjoy a drink around the place indoor and out in the beer garden. Live Music on weekends. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was quite expensive for a pub which we didn’t mind paying but it came up a bit short. The seafood pasta pasta was a little chewy needed another minute or two and the fish tacos lacked salsa or a sauce they were a bit dry. It was a shame because they were tasty and well presented. We noticed that the next time they were served to a customer there was a sauce on the taco after we told the lovely young lady cleaning up the tables so I would definitely try here again next time we are in town as it may have just been a bad day.

We celebrated our anniversary and had a wonderful night. We had the strapback lamb and slow cooked burger, both were generous portions and really delicious. Service was exceptional; quick, friendly and attentive. We sat in the front beer garden and enjoyed the beautiful view of the ocean. We’ll definitely be back next time we are in Apollo Bay “)

Excellent bar with huge amount of choices and service from the staff when our group was there was great (Saturday night during the footy). Busy but took time to serve us. 4 stars as my steak was very good and not quite exceptional for the price. I'd still go back which is the important part.

Fantastic pub, dog friendly, awesome staff who were always up for a chat, made us as comfortable as possible in the cold weather even out under cover in the beer garden. Food was delicious, reasonably priced and a great selection of local beers on tap. Highly recommend!!

We visited twice during our week in Apollo Bay for our honeymoon. Our first visit was great. Really good beers, friendly service, and a lovely meal. We visited again two nights later with high expectation for the shared fisherman’s platter. Unfortunately it was well below par. None of the seafood was fresh, the prawns and octopus were basically pickled (in vinegar), and we left with the dish half finished at best. Disappointed given the meal was $90 (or market price)

Pretty Good, and a nice pub style dinner, was not disappointed We had Gallic Bread and Chicken Parma, both good , serving size is big, salad was better than your average pub. Staff very friendly.. made you feel welcome Overall wouldn't hesitate to go back

3 of us had a meal here last night and it was all round dreadful. Service staff didn't appear to care we were there at all. We ordered Grilled octopus to start and Cheesy herb bread. The octopus was very tough, the bread was ok, but we had hardly finished eating the starters when the mains were brought out and dumped on the table. Not good. One of us ordered the burger, which was mediocre quality and the meal virtually cold. One ordered the chicken parmigiana which he thinks had been deep fried as the meat had a hard crust and was dry. I had salmon and scallop one pasta with choirizo, it was mostly chorizo and also not hot. No one came to ask how our meals were, after we finished we sat for at least 30 minutes with the dirty plates and eventually had to ask for them to be cleared. We thought it overpriced, poor value, badly cooked and dreadful service...........oh and the bar! We ordered a bottle of red wine for the table and were asked if we wanted glasses really not sure if the staff expected us to swig from the bottle but the question reflects the general standard. A shame, it's the only poor meal we have had since being in Australia.

Fantastic place, great service. I ordered the steak medium rare and it was cooked perfectly!! Very friendly pub. Enjoyed my night. Will come again and recommend.

Ripper place to sit back and enjoy a few frothies, beautiful beer again to admire the sunshine glowing through ya pint, great staff and delicious food, always are good time would recommend ya stop by for drink and or a feed!

This is a big old style pub with a fantastic beer menu. They have over 15 beers on tap plus a large bottle selection. The food is not standard pub grub but quality. I hope to return here some day

Such a great atmosphere! In town for 2 days... we found this place to have the best food, beer and service! A definite must go! Staff were very welcoming!

Most craft brewery aligned pubs have beer paddles so you can sample the 10+ ales on tap but not here, so not a great start. The pint of Otway Ale (pale) went down very well, and the pots of Chardonnay IPA and Black IPA were also enjoyed, as was the house chardy and soft drinks. But then came the food... The surf and turf allegedly comes to your liking. Well if you order medium rare and it comes out well done I think it’s fair to have a beef. Shame as the steak was very tasty alas overcooked and drowned. Then the 3 tiger prawns were actually one tiger prawn and 3 normal prawns. And the garlic sauce covered the whole bloody plate! The special whole snapper was also over sauced, drenched in a revolting taco seasoning sauce. Kids burgers were pretty unappetising too. Come here for a couple of good ales but eat elsewhere. Ps you might think this unfair but hungry after a day at the beach I didn’t raise these issues at the venue instead venting online. 2 kids who wanted to leave doesn’t make you inclined to give the kitchen a second chance. But having spent over $100 on food I think I’m entitled to.

This place was awesome. Marc and I went to see Dirt River Radio. They are a Melbourne Band from Stkilda. Since it was my birthday we decided to make it a weekend away. That night Marc and I had a bistro meal. We had the chicken sniztel and the chicken parma. Both were delicious cooked to perfection. The band afterwards were fantastic. Can not remember the last time i had such an awesome night on my birthday. Atmoshphere was great. Staff were friendly as and the bartender even let me taste a couple bottles of wine so i could choose which one i wanted. Top class service. What more could you ask for a great night out.

What a beautiful original old building lovingly restored but kept as is. The food and drinks 10 the staff even higher so friendly and helpful.

Had a family dinner, Gerhard had the rib eye, he said the best steak in a loooong time, delicious � everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their meals too, but apparently the steak was devine �����

Amazing space, amazing potential, beers alright but the whole experience was ruined by the smug kid behind the bar. Instead of serving up the attitude, just stick to pouring the beer.
