Restaurant fantastic atmosphere, staff so friendly and helpful, mixed sea food platter wonderful so fresh and cooked just right. Definitely recommend everyone to go and experience gorgeous food!
Excellent customer service on a busy public holiday. The staff there were so accomodating and friendly. They were even able to make half the seafood platter gluten free for me and the other half regular for my partner. 👌🏽
I come from interstate and they don't know how to do good fish and chips. My daughter took me to Clancy's and we had the seafood platter for 2 and it was mouth watering...
Excellent venue. Friendly staff with a great food and drinks menu. We had the Shark Bay whiting (battered) and the grilled Barramundi. Both dishes were excellent. Highly recommended as it's a groovy place to visit or catch up with family and friends. We really enjoyed it, and having been to the other Clancy's venues this one in Canning Bridge is just as good as the rest.
This is one of my fave places to eat!! Great food, great friendly staff service, and absolutely wonderful atmosphere!!
Love all the different nights from parmigiana night to the quiz nights and then there is the food. Never had a bad meal and amazing atmosphere
Went out for dinner with family. The food was delicious, especially the chilli mussels! The staff were so friendly! Ben and Sophie in the bar were amazing. Will definitely be back
A good, affordable pub near local transport options. The staff are always very friendly and the chicken parmy is always tasty. I'd also recommend their chilli and prawn pasta - yum!
Always feel welcome with excellent food , great choices on the menu to suit all occasions . They still serve the best chips south of the river !!!
Staff are always friendly too .
Had our wedding anniversary dinner Clancy. We ordered seafood platter for 2. Was soooo good excellent! We've been here twice and want to go back again. But sad to say no band that night (Thursday). Over all we had a great night
Had the best ever oyster kilpatrick ever better than raffles
Yummy fish, delicious wine, laid-back vibe, spectacular sunset.
Always great service, great food and a great selection of beers! Whilst not our local anymore we’ll quite happily travel as we’ve never been disappointed!
Brought the family here on a Friday night. Parking can be trying, be patient.
Other than that, warmly greeted by service crew. Food was decent, battered fish very crispy. The place gets busy, and can see why it is popular with locals.
Went here the other night with my 14 yo son. It was parmy night with the ODI (cricket) on in the background. Hands down the best chicken parmigiana ever - do yourself a favour!
Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. There was a plenty of seating and a great atmosphere. They didn’t have swordfish on the menu like the Freo one (which is the reason I came) but the Barramundi was great. I asked for no chips and salad- I was given chips and an unimpressive salad when compared to Freo store but def still worth a visit. In entertainment book also.
Great for a low-key date night dinner. Clancy's at Canning Bridge was so quiet on footy night, so we had no problem finding a table for two.
We ordered the fish burger special and the popcorn prawn tacos. The burger came on a pretzel bun with the same spicy mayo as the tacos - they were both delicious and everything tasted fresh! It's great to see that Clancy's change their menu quite regularly and between outlets, to keep things interesting.
Service was friendly and prompt, and it was lovely to have an unexpectedly quiet date night!
Staff are extremely friendly and go to extreme lengths of customer service. Food is fantastic and have an awesome range of beers on tap! Would recommend to anyone and everyone.
wow wow wow! the food was beautiful! the prices were fair and so affordable. The food was absolutely beautiful and very well presented. The vibe was my favorite, live band, relaxed with a touch of class. I would recommend this place any day! the service was quick also. great place
I'm a regular at this branch of Clancy's because of the staff, the ambience and the food.
In Applecross you have oodles of choice when it comes to bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from but when I'm meeting up with friends after work I usually head to Clancy's. Decently priced drinks, a good selection of food, and staff that feel like friends more than bartenders and serving staff keeps me coming back every time. Did you know they have a social cricket team?
My partner loves the fried mice - whole jalapenos stuffed with feta and deep-fried. They smell delicious but if you're not a fan of jalapenos you're not in for a good time. Try their chips instead! Both fried mice and chips come with a free dipping sauce. A lot of the offerings at Clancy's are seasonal, like their fish-based dishes, while other classic meals tend to stay consistent. (Classics like fish and chips, steak and chips, and chilli mussels haven't rotated off the menu in a while). The desserts here are also very well made, but let staff know if you have any allergies because not all of the garnishes are listed on the menu. The staff are always happy to factor in dietary needs where they can. Clancy's also does a pretty good breakfast deal, which is handy if you catch the bus right outside the front door along canning highway.
Clancy's is child-friendly to the point of emphasising that it's a good place to bring kids to teach them how to dine in a restaurant, but not a place for them to play. That's more than fair considering that Clancy's is mostly a pub. It's not unusual to see young families bringing their toddlers out for an early dinner, or groups with babies in prams - but there is no designated play area. Thankfully there is a great riverside park just a few minutes' walk from Clancy's if the family is active, and plenty of children's playgrounds in Applecross and Como nearby.I've also seen dogs happily sit outside with a bowl of water in the afternoons.
The things that I'd let visitors know is that the smoking area is quite close to the front seating outside, so if you're sensitive to secondhand smoke but want to sit outside, aim for the picnic-style tables along the side of Clancy's. It does get very noisy in the evenings when the place fills up - usually during a live music night or trivia - so keep in mind when Clancy's has an event on if you want to visit to catch up over conversation. Also, because this place is primarily a pub and not a cafe, the coffee can vary depending on who's making it. Sometimes it's good, and sometimes you need to add a little sugar before you go. For what it is I consider Clancy's to be a great all-rounder venue for any day of the week, and a huge asset to the Applecross area.
Good value platter on the weekends. Feeds 2-4 and there was only 2 of us. Lots of leftovers. Costs $39 and included 2 drinks. Chips extra. We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

Our 2nd Clancy's experience having visited the Freo restaurant - and another very good meal. Thursday evening and the place was relatively busy with a nice buzzing atmosphere, we sat inside (there is outdoor seating). Wait staff were really very pleasant and it does add to the experience when your servers actually look and sound happy. We ordered a shared platter for starters - my little bug bare is when starters and mains either arrive simultaneously or there is too long a wait between courses - last night Clancy's got it right. The shared platter was "just right" according to hubby with dips, bread, olives chorizo and white anchovy which hubby loved. It We found it a good size for the four of us to not ruin our appetites for mains. Big eaters will probably want to order one between 2. Mains of Sardines, Steak, Snapper and Thai fish cakes were all well received and cooked well. The fish cakes are small (4)but the portion was more than adequate for intended recipient. I have to mention how fresh and crunchy the side salads were that accompanied the snapper and steak were, normally seen as a bit of decoration, these were really nice. I realise that for a busy place like this that frozen chips will be the norm and they were ok but the quality of the fresh food was so good, they didn't quite meet the standard for the rest of the meal.
Went here with my mom in law for dinner on a weekday and it was pretty busy. Don't sit outside if u want a quiet meal. I had the Chilli mussels and mom in law had the lamb shank. She said it was pretty small the shank and tasted good though. My mussels were huge. Just the right amount of Chilli. Portion was massive and bread was good. Can always do with more bread. Pretty quick service and good value for money. Would highly recommend fir Chilli mussels. Nice night out.
Great pub with a relaxed atmosphere. One of the first bars in Perth to throw their support behind local brewers and, as a result, always has an interesting selection on tap.
Came here on a Thursday night, fairly busy but managed to get a good table. Ordered the seafood platter for 2 at $65. Very impressed with what we received! Chilli mussels had a nice kick to them, the squid was lightly breaded and crispy. The fish was moist and flaky. The prawn skewers were slightly rubbery but overall it was a nice meal that didnt feel too greasy by the end of it
The takeaway fish and chips was light and crisp. Serving of 2 pieces of fish was enough for a hungry person or 2 small eaters, just the right amount imo (hate wasting chips). Takeaway came with a tartare dip and a lemon wedge at no extra cost.
Really enjoy the take away menu, please forever keep the scotch fillet sandwich on the take away menu it's amazing. Should really add something like a risotto or something similar to the take away menu, as that'd be a nice take away meal as well. Venue is nice & so is the staff,
Had a quick takeaway lunch from clancy's today. Not from their main reataurant, from the takeaway part which is next door.
We had a fish burger, fish and chips and extra chips.
The fish and chips were really nice, the batter on the fish was perfect, crispy not too oily and didn't fall off the fish as is often the case. The chips too were spot on, crispy fresh and lightly salted. My partner had the fish burger and again this was spot on with no complaints.
Overall a lovely lunch, and no oily after taste which often accompanies fish and chips.
The price was reasonable : 12 for burger and chips, 10 for dish and chips.
Decent tasting pub grub. Great beer selection and friendly staff is what brings me back. Good place for catchup with friends or a meal with the family in terms of ambience. Would be hard pressed to call this a night out though.
Driven past the place hundreds of times and finally made it in for lunch today. Checked out the menu $23 for fish and chips but on a weekend it's $50 for a family fish and chips and drinks, perfect! Comes with 6 pieces of fish, chips and 4 drinks. If you don't manage to finish it, they'll bag it up for you to take home. Really enjoyed the meal, fish was nice and white and the chips were nice and fresh. Probably come back a bit more often now with that ripper weekend deal
Visited Clancy's on a Thursday night and this was my first visit to one that wasn't the Dunsborough restaurant. We took overseas visitors and to ensure a table I tried to make a reservation. They don't take bookings under parties of 8 or 10 but said we'd be fine with only 4 people. We got the last table inside at 6.30pm. It was already bustling with people and after our meal I could see why. We loved it! The relaxed atmosphere is perfect, you order at the bar/counter so there is no waiting for the waiter and you can order at your leisure. The food came out in good time and we were not disappointed. The barramundi and chips was enjoyed by two of our party and the crab ravioli was enjoyed by the other two. I would highly recommend going on Crab Shack Thursday, the crab was amazing, as was the beurre blanc sauce with the perfect amount of bread to mop it up with. This was a $15 dish and I hate to say (in case they increase the price), absolutely fantastic value. As I thought it would be a tiny entree, I also ordered the prawn tacos, again at $15, the serving was very decent and delicious, and left me with no room for dessert, although I was eyeing off the panacotta. I will definitely return. The meal and drinks for 4 was under $140 and they have a good drinks selection too.
Went here the other day, just for a bite too eat somewhere different and dog friendly.
Ordered the lamb shank dish and a kids fish and chips.
The lamb fell apart in my mouth, which is great effort for a fish place! My son was happy out with his meal, and real hand cut chips. None of this 'hand cut in another state, frozen and shipped in a McKains packet BS...'
it was really simple, but enjoyable.
The staff here are so friendly and that made the time even more enjoyable. Very welcoming. No fuss. Easy. Good price.
Can't fault this place, first time dining here and loved it. Service was fast and friendly. Great drinks selection and the menu is far from boring, for a fish n chips place. Will be back
I've always loved the warm welcoming feel of clancy's. It's great for everyone, big groups, people with kids, people without kids. Food and drinks are always good too.
Clancy's is quite a popular venue at night on the weekends, so it was lucky we had booked a table for a group of us on Sunday night. They have a wide selection of drinks, standard pub food like fish and chips and chicken parmigiana as well as a couple of dishes that were a bit more unique. I chose the crispy salmon in soy and ginger broth with soba and Asian greens. My salmon was slightly over cooked and because it was sitting in the broth, the skin wasn't quite that crispy. The soba was also a bit overdone and soggy. The broth was tasty though and overall it was a nice dish.
It gets chilly sitting anywhere near the door! A pity because it was difficult to get a table on a Wednesday night. Clancy's does fish and chips well and has a good range of beers. What's not to like? Well, apart from the cold...
Clancy's in one of those spots we keep revisiting whenever the family is in town due to the ambience, extensive menu and relaxed vibe. Since the Applecross store was redecorated it's even nicer! Our party of six fitted comfortably in a booth on the higher level of the restaurant and spent no time at all looking over the menu. I went for the Miso Glazed Salmon with Black Rice & Avocado Salad. Miso is such an intense flavour if used in extremity but the balance was beautiful on the fleshy salmon. It's a lovely combination. The addition of black rice was somewhat "hipster" but it worked. The Avo & radish salad added a creaminess and zest to the Asian style dish, creating a bit of a fusion. It was light and not too filling, even though Clancy's is known for its large portion sizes. Service was good, our plates were cleared as soon as we finished and bar staff had some great recommendations for the champagne. Of course I'll be back.
Platter day is always good :) Clanceys is ok. There is nothing bad about it. I like wine and seafood so for be its perfect :) The seafood platter is HUGE and tasty
Went mid week and sat out front which was nicer than expected considering its next to the canning hwy. I ordered the chilli mussels which came with sourdough. Pretty big portion and tasted good. Have to say the sauce was very hot. This is ok for me but for others might be too much. My friend ordered the calamari and it was well cooked.
I've been to 3 different Clancy's and I would say this was the lesser of the three (fremantle, down south and canning hwy).It gets super busy on those quiz nights and most nights it also closes early so you can't grab a bite after 9:30pm when you're really craving a seafood platter after an afternoon of balcony drinks. If you can travel to fremantle Clancy's, I recommend you go there instead. The chips are crunchier and I the fried mice are nicer. The chilli mussels here are ok. Never overcooked but they aren't as nice as Little Creatures. My bf and I usually order the seafood platter for two and some fried mice. The last two times the platter took ages to come (everyone else got their mains) and it was extremely salty.Good bar vibe, nice live bands. Everything else is quite average
Delicious as always ! Clancys never disappoints great food great atmosphere .. Perfect for a casual date night with the fiancé or a meal with friends
Jan 16 - Went down to Clancy's Fish Pub in Applecross for a few drinks and a bite for lunch today. I had the Geraldton crumbed whiting with chips and salad, my mate had the grilled quid salad and they were both delicious! I had a coffee to follow which was also at a high standard!
The management and staff are always very friendly and helpful which is why I've been coming back over the past 12 years with out a bad experience!
Plenty of amazing wa/Aus boutique brews on tap and in the fridge! If you like a bit of spice I would recommend the fried mice! Enjoy this amazing establishment!
Feb 16 - Had lunch here with the lads yesterday. We ordered a steak burger which is always a good option, clangchoybow a nice light meal and the grilled barramundi with chips and salad. The grilled barramundi sounded like a nice healthy option however it was loaded with chips and the salad was too small with way too much onion however it was still a great dish. Coffee has improved and would happily buy a daily coffee from here.
All my visits and I'm still waiting on a fault on food. Food is delicious and quick to come out..You have to try the fried mice..Drinks are well priced
Love the Reno, lightings a bit strange (orange) but has a great fresh feel to it. I always find the menu strange at Clancy's but can't go wrong with grilled barramundi, chips and salad. We also tried the grilled salmon in leek pasta and salsa verde. The pasta was a bit stodgy and although I ate it I wouldn't recommend. It's the perfect place for casual catch up with mates and even dog friendly.
Went for parmageddon Tuesday just passed. Best service I had received for a long time. Recommend. No wonder they're so busy! Great still. Will be back :)
Love it!. Me and my boyfriend stopped by clancys to have a late lunch. The place was pretty quiet but not totally without customers. At least more customers than you would expect at 15:30 a Wednesday. We ordered chilimussels (that comes with fresh bread) and some garlic bread on the side. The mussels and all bread was beautiful, and definitely a perfect meal to share if you aren't looking for something heavy! The service was quick and we also got checked up on. Would without doubting recommend clancys on canning hwy to anyone!
I like this place but one thing annoys the absolute S**t out of me. They serve the fish burger in a polystyrene box with the chips inside. By the time you get your food home your chips are soggy as!
So disappointing and D U M B! I'm trying a new place tonight so my fish and chips are super crispy and enjoyable..... Well fingers crossed anyway.
Good prices, good food, quick service. I was happy that they do really calamari, not frozen, rubbery rings like most. Will be back.

Love this place. The food is always delicious and the staff are great. We tend to avoid it at weekends as it's obviously a pub and can get a bit noisy, but midweek it's great for a quick family meal
>Went for lunch on a weekday
>Great prices, good serving sizes
>In a group of 6 all enjoyed their meal
>Their take on San Choy bow was yum
I have been coming here for years as I believe they have the best selection if tap beers anywhere in Perth. Food? Over the years it's been a roller coaster ride of changing menus with good well priced and poor over priced food. Right now they are definitely in a good place. Very very happy to have it as a local.
Nicely Done. The place looks great. The food was a little expensive but not bad... it was quiet enough... Yeah I'd go back again for sure. We have conducted a few business meetings here. Back booth on the left hand side. Great for meetings.
Great food, beers and wine... Raffles closed and walked down to this place... Really relaxed place and seafood super...
Excellent service, really friendly staff. Food was amazing. Will definitely go back
Casual and laid back. I've had some nice relaxing lunches here. A couple of times we sat outside in the summer, and it seemed quite peaceful despite the road right next to us. And then once inside in a booth now it's a bit colder. The decor is bright, spacious, decorations are interesting, and the staff are friendly if not overly attentive. I've tried the seafood platter for two - generous serve and nice selection. I've tried a number of the little nibbles as share plates - interesting flavours and ideas. The only less than yummy one was the undercooked scallops once, but I can let one mistake slide. And I'm sure that if I'd sent it back it would have been fixed up, but we were all full at that stage so we didn't see the point. Also tried the non seafood mains, and it was a nice cafe quality meal. Something on the menu for most tastes. All in all, while not top of the line, good food, nice atmosphere, would definitely go again.
Chilli mussels were perfection
Catch up dinner with friends. Decor is refreshing, light and bright. Food was as expected - no frills, fish cooked nicely, great chips and salad fresh. Service from bar and wait staff was friendly and efficient.
Atmosphere relaxed, enabled us to have a quiet drink before and no rush to leave after meal.
Very nice! I can't understand what all these other reviews are complaining about, I have been here to eat pre renovation and now post renovation and what a refreshing improvement. Gone are the dark dingy eating areas inside and the grotty smokers Pavillion outside to bright, fresh, funky decor. The menu stayed true to the Clancys name, my husband having a fabulous looking (and tasting apparently) seafood platter and I had the chickpea salad and some bread and butter. We came on a Sunday at 1pm, didn't need to book, food came quickly and portion sizes were good, some jazz in the background. We will return soon. To those pining for the dark days pre rennovation then I suggest the Leopold in Melville, dark room, sticky carpets and dodgy ambiance aplenty there!
Good beer, food. Oddly enough I've never had the fish here but the steak is always satisfying and cooked to perfection. Love the selection of beer, anyone that serves ferel's on tap has my vote. Not sure how i feel about the new renovations. Loved the 'warmth' of the old joint; felt more like an old english pub. Its nice, just lost a bit of its charm.

This is my happy place. I love the dining style - order at the counter and take a number and a seat and they bring it out when it's ready. Fuss free, simple good food that knocks your socks off because it's not trying to be over complicated - it's doing what it should perfectly. And the awesome beers on tap make it heaven. Bus stop right outside means I don't have to drive. Try the Custard Cider on tap - it's like fruity dry champagne. The battered fish and chips and the jalapeño poppers known as fried mice are outstanding.
Dinner started with calamari....horrible! Squid rings dusted in flour and it tastes exactly like that. The swordfish, snapper and quinoa frittata where all outstanding though! Friendly staff, reasonable prices for Perth and good life music!
GREAT Take Away. I am so excited about the new take away part of the restaurant, finally someone has incorporated fish and chips with a fancy twist! Being able to order great salads and non-deep-fried options is a great improvement from most fish and chip places. Well Done!
Great price, really fast, great QUALITY
Love the alcohol selection and the food is great!
Great fish. Went here Friday night with a friend for dinner. Really enjoyed it. Decent wine list, service was good and our grilled seafood platter was gorgeous, particularly the fish.
Relaxed Atmosphere. Went here because I went to Clancys in Dunsborough a few months back with some friends. The atmosphere THERE was very chill and the food was pretty good. Had driven past the one on Canning Hwy a few times and decided to go. I had a special of the night which was basically grilled salmon on aparagus and spinach with some olives and a light dressing. The gf had the chilli mussels.
The salmon was very nice and hard to fault. I was still a bit hungry after the dish but I suppose that is the norm with seafood dishes. The gf found the chilli mussels to be a bit overcooked but the sauce was spot on.
Overall a very chilled out atmosphere and considering it wasn't packed out a good place to go for a chilled out dinner.
Positive: Awesome food, fast service.
Negative: sticky dirty tables and the ground could do with a sweep.
