Is very nice place to have a drink and have pizza I like to go there every Wednesday because they have the best Dj and best music
A+++ I had a function in the upstairs river room on a Saturday night and my guests were immensely impressed with the venue! From the moment I made the enquiry the communication from their Events Coordinator was second to none. Everything was clearly outlined and organised. She even came in on her day off to help with the setup. The chefs grazing table was out of this world! The food was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend the sliders, arancini balls and pork belly shots. Thank you to The Raffles Hotel for making this event so easy to organise. We will be back!
We had our son’s baptism in the Riverside Room yesterday and everything was perfect. The staff were attentive, the beers were cold and overall I could not fault the service. Highly recommend for a function. Special thanks to Val.
We had a great afternoon staff that were on at the time great food was great can’t complain. Thank you very much to all the staff. Will be back
Went for lunch staff were great and food was really good asked for steak medium and it was cooked to medium ! We will be back !
The only reason I go there it's cuz DJ Jaymee is always on the deck best DJ and place got nice vibe.
Raffles Hotel, is great entertaining place D&D dinner and Dance Disco flashed back in styles 1960s , we had great night , awesome night so much fun
The food was great. One of the meals was a vegan quinoa kale salad. Different textures and flavours. Colourful, delicious, and filling. Yes, they have vegan options!
Pizza night delight is all I can say. Great pizzas. From the Margherita down to staple pepperoni, schmancy prawn pizza to chicken and even the modest ham and olive pizza, delectable. Great pizzas. Service wasn’t fabulous hence the 4 star rating but that won’t stop me from going back. Could’ve been the relatively chaotic dinner rush but it felt haphazard and very impersonal. Also ordered the meatballs and mashed potatoes for the little one and it was sensational! Lovely venue and great space to watch the sunset.
Good service. Great food. The front of house gentleman is excellent and always looks after us. The food is good and reasonably priced. The chicken parmagiana is the best in Perth. The Tuesday pasta night excellent. The drinks are on the mid to high end but you will have a good experience and leave happy.
This place has a good vibe and is definitely a nice place for dinner 🍴
We ordered a side of beer battered chips 🍟 & Salumi Pizza 🍕
BEER BATTERED CHIPS 🍟
the chips were crispy & was paired well with aioli it was thick and had a good crunch factor!
SALUMI PIZZA 🍕
there was a generous amount of ingredients on the pizza which was amazing but the crust was a little too hard and was a little burnt but nonetheless it was good with a good amount of cheese and toppings
Would recommend this place and can’t wait to try more food from here
There are two types of restaurants in Applecross; the laid-back type, and the type that people dress up to visit. This one is the latter.
Situated right on the river with a beautiful view of the sunset, the Raffles is a great place for a sundowner and an after-work catch up. The selection of whisky and cocktails here are quite good, and their house-spirits are great quality. The food here might be a bit expensive, but that's basically a reflection of the area. The Raffles is perfectly situated for an after-dinner stroll along the river, and (dare I say it?) picking up your groceries from the 24-hour IGA on the way home.
It may be an odd perk, but a perk nonetheless. 2 birds one stone.
This place regularly hosts formal events like 21st parties, so ladies in gowns hopping out of a limousine is not uncommon here. When the weather is nice the best seat in the house is in the outdoor dining area with a view of the water.
Amazing lunch at The Raffles today with 2 girl friends. Had a Vegetarian salad, a chicken salad and fish and chips. Everyone loved their meals, they were all fresh and full of flavour !!! We had desserts that we loved, the panacotta and the doughnuts.......both sensational !! A beautiful setting and amazing food....thank you !!
Nice location and surprisingly good food considering it's a pub.
We ordered some share plates and the seafood plate was particularly enjoyable. (The prawns were my favourite). We also ordered pork belly bites and whilst it had a nice flavour, the skin was a bit rubbery instead of crunchy crackle.
Service was mixed. The wait staff were slow and disinterested but the manager that took my money was pleasant and friendly. She did a good job to leave a last good impression.
Overall, we enjoyed our visit and will return, especially to try the pizza as they looked sooooo good.
Their chicken parmigiana was very good, their olives with ciabatta bread was also good and their margarita pizza was the best. Lastly, the ambiance was excellent and it's super duper crowded. I highly recommend that make a reservation a day before atleast.
Tuesday night is Pasta night in this place and for $20 you get to choose a pasta dish and a glass of red or white wine. A bloody bargain in any language but when combined with the 25% off entertainment card that they dont scratch off then this is a steal. Did i mention that their pasta dishes are tasty. Love this place and this is one of my favourite places to go out for dinner on a tuesday!!
Great pizzas definitely worth coming back for. We had a bit of everything as there were seven of us. The salads were fresh and crispy, the risotto looked delicious and moist (I didn’t try it) and the simple steak sandwich came with crispy rock salted chips. Service was fast and efficient.
Overall, we enjoy the Raffles and we regularly eat there. However, I was a bit disappointed on my last visit when the Manager refused to replace my glass of red wine. Unfortunately a blow fly had decided to land in my wine somewhere between leaving the inside bar and reaching my table outside. I don't mind a small bug but a blow fly, I couldn't stomach. But apparently, once you enter the outside area, the food and drink is your responsibility, so I was told too bad, there's nothing we can do about that.
Recently, we just returned from a trip to Sydney where we visited an outdoor dining venue. We noticed a seagull land on someone's plate while they went to the bar. The staff member immediately came and offered to replace the meal without the person even asking. It just highlighted to me the difference in the level of service between the two venues.
I also find the ordering rather annoying, don't dare come up to order without your table number or you are sent back outside to find it and re-enter the queue to order your food and drinks.
Apart from the above, we find the food generally very good - especially the barramundi and garlic bread.
We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food here and I understand that their midweek food $20 specials are really popular. The servings were on the small side but the prices (apart from the steaks) weren't exorbitant.
The crispy skin barramundi was lovely but it was a small portion and accompanied by only a salad left us feeling hungry.
Everyone enjoyed what they had but you may need to order something on the side to fit you up.
Visited the raffles again last week and had this amazing tuna crudo special, with a citrus quinoa salad. Love this place! Love the prawn tortellini!
The main menu is rather expensive but the Tuesday night $20 pasta + wine special is pretty good. Even if you don't feel like having any wine. The pasta was actually very very good - flavoursome and good texture. Good serving for $20.
The service is pretty good - they found us a table even though we didn't have a booking and it was quite busy. The food comes quick.
It's a cool venue - particularly in summer if you can enjoy being outside near the water.
Lunch meetings are great here, overall the service is slow and not that welcoming when you enter. Got to work it out yourself, no one really talked to us at all, until you approached the bar to ask for a food menu. Overall the place is good, food was good, and beer was cold. The location and view is the best thing about this place, would visit again - yes
Girls night out for 6 of us. We ordered some light snacks, squid, potatoes bravas and fish tacos. All yummy. Bubbles and wines we had were very nice. Then we had 3 pizzas, all really nice. Favourite was the prawn and chilli, though in some places there was too much chilli. $205 in the end, very good for 6 of us. Customer service was fantastic too. Nice atmosphere mid week.
The food is good... especially the seafood, pork belly aged beef tenderloin and lamb ribs... the drinks are also really good...
Rated 3.5 because the service is not the best and the ambience - way too noisy...
Popped in for lunch with a friend. Had a margherita pizza and for dessert, ricotta doughnuts with chocolate sauce and caramel sauce. Everything tasted sooooo good and superfresh.
Consistently good food (hard to find) and a top view. Good variety on the drinks menu and service about 5/10 - 8/10 depending who's on. Mulled wine during the winter months a fantastic addition.
Always love coming here for drinks afterwork. Lovely views by the swan river. Always busy and food is great. Great range of pizzas and very tasty too. Ee had the pepperoni pizza with spicy salami peepers and pesto; ortolana which had pumpkin zucchini pesto feta and pinenuts; the spiced pollo which had spiced chicken sriratcha and honey kewpie. The pizza base and crust was crunchy and wasn't too thick. We also ordered the pappardelle pasta with eggplant field mushrooms house dried tomato rocket pesto and pecorino. It was delicious too. My favourite was the Highway to hell pork belly bites. It had a great kick of spice to it and the pork belly was cooked well and tender, it wasn't dry. We had great service from the female waitress. Not so much the male one, he was a bit abrupt.
Been there twice and on both occassions been blown away by the food! Delicious! The wait staff are friendly. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food, a little above average prices, but you get what you pay for. Portion sizes are perfect. The bar area can be quite loud but that is to be expected given day and time. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be going back.
Raffs has been one of our local hangouts over the past 10 years throughout all the renovations and owners. After the last renos we were disappointed with the new design but with such a great location on the river and close to home you manage to put up with it.
The pizzas and food always have met our expectations however can cost you some $$$ if you are paying for the full family. It has also been great under the new ownership that you can now get a beer under $14 as well!!
If you're after a nice casual pizza and a drink outside this is a great spot.
Every Wednesday is half price pizza :) we made bookings a week before, for 6 of us... The only time slot we got is 6-8pm and it was packed! We came at 6:05 and had to leave 8pm on the dot as there're people arriving for the 8pm bookings... Pizzas were nice and drinks are okay... A bit loud to have a chat as DJ was playing his music up...
Food is average, based on price vs quantity..Drinks are super expensive…great range of wines..bartenders are on point…coffee average..inside decor is horrible when comparing pre-reno…maybe a nice venue for a tinder date when you're not paying and don't eat much or a birthday function upstairs
Have eaten in the bar area and found the food small and pricey and not overly great but upstairs in the restaurant is a different story. The food is excellent and beautifully presented. The decor is also lovely.
Busy Tuesday evening at the Raffles, first time visiting. Was quite hard to get the staff attention to find a table but worth the wait when they brought 1kilo chilli mussels for only $20 yummy and a bargain!! Will definately be back to same more dishes
Great bar place. The new renovations are pretty good although not sure about upstairs at all. The garden is good if the weather is kind.
Food is innovative and excellent. Well done to the kitchen and design chef. The wine list is very well balanced with low, mid and special occasion selection which are good value.
The service is very good and they have looked after us extremely well. Hat off to Conrad who knows how to hit the nail on the head when it comes to the wine.
I love it when there are a heap of wines on the list that you don't know and the sommelier listens to what you want ... ask Conrad and you won't be disappointed.
The $8 pints are a winner and a far cry from the old days.
Bang for buck.... Is say it was better than average.
An absolute favourite! Events that are held here are always classy, fun and present an amazing atmosphere and environment. Wednesday half price pints and pizzas occur on a regular basis. Although the price is fairly high, understandable due to the location and quality of the restaurant, i remain a regular as the quality is always flawless!
Had a booking for Wed night which is a super busy- pizza night, but wasn't told it was an outside table. We had children with us and it was a cold wintery evening. After deliberating on wether to stay or go elsewhere the manager worked his magic and was able to seat us inside. Great value, yummy pizzas.
Friday Night Dinner. Was greeted by a very friendly manager named Tony and shown to our table inside near the windows- we had the best spot and didn't even book. Venue was very accommodating and staff attentive. Served by a nice girl called Aric. We had pepperoni pizza, squid and chicken. All delicious and very reasonable on price. The place was very busy and good to see reasonable night life in apple cross. Good work raffles.
Ravioli To Die For!. After a bit of hesitation of returning back to one of our regular favourites after the renovations, we are so very glad to be back! We had a wonderful casual lunch today and everything was absolutely perfect!
From the moment of seeing a very inviting and welcoming Tony (good to see him back!) we were seated promptly and attended to quickly, having once again, one of the best dining experiences that Perth can bring. We can totally recommend the freshest Prawn Ravioli (which I understand is made on the premises) and they tasted absolutely delicious! Complemented with a glass of SSB, and loads of freshly baked bread - thankfully to mop up the yummiest sauces ever - it was just like one of the nicest lunches we have had for a long time.
Thank you for bringing back the pleasure of eating out and actually enjoying the experience! We definitely will be back!
Welcome Home Tony! The Raff.... Welcome Home Tony!
The Raffles just didn't feel the same after the renovation. Sure, it was partially the decor but the vibe wasn't there and neither was Tony. We were over the moon when we went in one night and saw that he was back. Thanks for the exceptional service Tony! Our fortnightly visits with our 5 kids for Champizza Night has become a little bit of a tradition and the experience gets better and better every time.
Had a great time relaxing in the new outdoor area yesterday. Tony and the staff made sure we were very well looked after. The pepperoni pizza was delicious and served quickly. Best chips in Perth :-). Will definitely be back.
Absolute perfection. We stopped over on our way home to the north of the river and we stayed. Need I say more? Thank you Tony.
Had a blast. Went out with some friends to have one glass of wine, we ended up having the whole dinner, more than one glass of wine and a really good service from the staff. So happy to see that old manager Tony is back, he really made us feel special, we where looked after real good. Amazing energy, good vibe that guy has! Keep up the good work, will visit again for sure!
Good service and excellent food on a busy Saturday evening. We went with a party of nine, the table was ready and staff were very attentive, we all shared a selection of small plates to start, which all arrived hot and delicious, we had different main courses, I chose the pork belly, which was divine, soft juicy pork and crispy crackling, hubby had rib steak that was cooked to perfection, the barramundi and crab looked very good. Overall a great evening, excellent food, great service, would definitely recommend to anyone.
Mixed staff. One bartender was awesome /passionate about beer and wine, a few other staff seemed pretty clueless. That's ok though because we got the good dude haha.
Food was ok, but a bit expensive to make this a regular place for us.
Will be back in for a beer, but probably not for food :)
Still good!. Always liked the Raffles as a relaxing, not overly busy local. Since the renovations the food still seems to be well priced & good quality. Lovely place to be on a Sunday evening with service & a view. Can't wait to go back and try more of their menu!
Have eaten here several times ...... I have lunched here several times, and recently had an early evening meal here with a group of friends. We all enjoyed our various dishes, and found the atmosphere very relaxing. We will definitely be going again!
My daughter's boyfriend proposed to her at this restaurant a few months ago ... it was a busy Saturday night - but the staff and management went out of their way to make their night special - and presented them with a free bottle of champagne. Now that must be worth a second visit!!
Stunning!. I had the great pleasure of visiting the Raffles on Sunday 15 Feb 2015 with my partner, Marc, for a belated
Valentine’s Day outing.
We wanted to see what the renovations were like and we were completely astounded at how stunning they are.
We loved:
The authentic details
The subtle colour palette
The incredible copper finishings
The wood pannelling
The mirrored wall
The round skylight
The cheeky nod to the building’s history (eg: ACDC photos and neon lighting touches)
The glass doors on the restrooms
We both ordered a meal and drink and really enjoyed the carefully prepared food. A bar tender kindly gave us a one on one tour of the upstairs area and we thought it was absolutely stunning. I am already planning a function for this divine space.
I am telling everyone I know what an amazing, authentic transformation the building has undergone and I will post positive anedoctes in social media.
As someone who grew up in Applecross I want to say thank you for bringing this old charmer back to life!

Missed Opportunity. Had dinner at the new look Raffles last night. (Thursday). Service was excellent and attentive. Drinks were very reasonably priced especially the Colonial Ale on tap. Our food was good value for the price, - prawn pizza was excellent, - veal parmy was a tad tough, but overall as pub grub and for the price, no complaints.
The décor was a big let down and has missed the mark. We sat outside and the concrete soak well planter boxes and stands were out of keeping with what should be the dignity of a classic art deco building. Inside had the appearance of a cheap suburban food hall.
What spoiled the evening was the noise from a DJ who was playing (well, you couldn't call it music) far too loudly for the clientele who were couples and groups that were basically wanting to have conversations without having to shout at each other.
Too late to do much with the décor after having spent so much on the fit out and the food and service appear to be up to scratch. But something can be done about the noise - and money can be saved by not employing a DJ - those guys only know loud and very loud and feel they have to earn their fee. Not needed at all.
Stopped here on a whim for dinner and it was the best decision I made all day. Staff here were really nice and although a little loud the atmosphere was really good and up vibe. The menu has a good range to choose from and our order came out in a very timely manner. The steak was close to perfect and the gnocchi was extremely good. The food coming to us from the kitchen was spot on. It was a great way to finish off a Sunday afternoon.
A MASSIVE shout out to the man behind the success of The Raffles Hotel, and why we come back again & again.... TONY!
Tony, when you arr running the show, it is always a 20 out of 10! And all my grineds & business associates agree! Thank you mate, and we'll see you again very soon! 💯✌️
Nice venue for a beer or a good dining experience. Quality menu a step above the usual pub grub. Outside tables are a bit rustic and splintery. The outdoors ambience is significantly obstructed by the winter marquis. It impedes into the area and segregates the customers.
I was there to check out a bit of Art Deco style architecture, the old part of the hotel and the community hall across the road are beautiful.
We had a family celebration for my parents 60th wedding anniversary. We chose the Raffles as that is where they spent their wedding night 60 years ago. It was a great decision. The staff were attentive, friendly and Tony you were amazingly entertaining. You made our day special ❤ The food was wonderful, everybody enjoyed their meal. Could not fault it. Thank you all for a great lunch
Great tasting pub food in a nice ambient place. Good location in an a iconic place. The food selection is tasty, presented well and looks like a well oiled team. 5 stars ⭐️
I went to an event in the upstairs area and the service and staff were very friendly and did a good job. Food was plentiful and of a good quantity. The host chose fish and chips, karrage chicken, a salad and a beef check on mash which was the star.
Side note: Friday nights post work theme is young ladies looking for a wealthy middle age gentleman
