Great shakes, i loved how the "Shake Queen" knew how to change the Chunky Monkey up and give suggestions on replacement ingredients. Delicious. Also had the Lasagna Jaffle as you cant go past pasta bolognaise in a jaffle. Verry Yummy. Had such a lovely chat whilst waiting. Both staff very friendly and lovely.
Love this place cool vibe great coffee & friendly crew.
Easily the best joint in Perth! Awesome coffee and tasty food options, all made by the people who serve you. The staff are always so warm, happy and present a real commitment to the regulars of the area! My favorite place hands-down! :)
Great coffee & loved the lower sugar options avail for the kids morning tea!!! Thanks
Great spot! First time today and topped off with a yummy jaffle. Will be back for more!!
We have had two visits to this amazing cafe. Perfect coffees every time, amazingly friendly team and stunning food. Highly recommend !
Excellent coffee and pastries at this quaint little spot. Will definitely be visiting regularly when I'm back in Perth.
As a Sydneysider who likes decaf I always struggle to find a decent cuppa in Perth. Not anymore! Hello The Old Boy! Brilliant coffee and great service!
The most amazing coffee I've ever had. And the staff were extremely wonderful
So pleased to find this place for my Perth visits, best customer service and coffee. I look forward to my next visit.
Fantastic Jaffles and dam good coffee - great little coffee shop
Tripped over this little place while op-shopping on Canning highway. Lovely, cool oasis on a hot Perth day. Great coffee, great sandwiches and most importantly really great, friendly people. Will be back!
One of the better (if not best) neighbourhood style coffee shops SOR. Service is always great.
Fabulous single origin coffee! Delicious unusual alternatives to snack on...
Can I just start off by saying by far the best coffee I've ever had; but I think the service just might outstand the beans! This team are so connected to their community, addressing all their customers by name. Grant, the owner is so inviting, warm and welcome and that extends onto the rest of the team. Jaffles are to die for and you KNOW I'll be back for that caramel slice. Even though this isn't my neighbourhood anymore.. I'll definitely be returning!
I have only the one coffee from here but I thought it was one of the best coffees I’ve had in a while in this area. Owner was very friendly and nice too :) will come back again to try their food soon.
Came back again a few days later. A different young lady made my coffee. Was terrible.
Quality control guys!
The iced lattes are to die for! We love coming here early in the morning to get a homemade jaffle or some coffees, and we've never been disappointed. The jaffles are lovely in winter for a warm little treat, the coffees are also phenomenal.
Great place, very friendly vibes! Food is decently priced. The coffee is amazing, get a guy called Steve to make you one of his killer chai's, highly recommend! The place is has a great view and the service is always on point.

Try the smoked ham and mustard Jaffle!! YUM! Lovely service. Venue is small, but as far as a toastie (jaffle) goes, whats not to like?! Coffee also gets a high five.
the average rating is for the prices, not for the taste of the food. jaffles are super yummy (we had the breakfast one with egg, bacon, some spinach and a chilli relish, and a chilli con carne one), but cost $16 together which is kinda crazy considering it's 2 slices of bread and some filling. tall guy at counter serving today was very meh. not rude or anything, but looked and acted like he didn't want to be there. no coffees here for us today so can't comment on that.
The coffee here is amazing with their award winning "Yellow Bourbon" coffee bean. This place has a nice welcoming feel and the staff are very friendly.
Also I can suggest trying a savoury muffin here as they are amazing!
Loved their Gourmet coffee, it's my kind of coffee, smooth and not too bitter. Loved their friendly service even more, felt genuine. I would go back to try their famous jaffle one day.
Great coffee and fantastic service. This cafe has a lovely atmosphere and a wide variety of food on offer. Coffee toffee frappe was s huge hit.
We will be back!
So far I have only stopped by for coffee. Old Boy Cafe is cute place & I must read up on the reason for the name & the decor - it seems like there must be a story there.
Initially I thought the staff were a little standoffish but the experience was improved when my coffee was brought out to me outside when I'd expected them to just call out it was ready. Worth another look I think
Always had dreams of making my own jaffle shop, started googling to see if there's any already in Perth and these guys pop up only a stones throw from home. Went on in and ordered the 'biltong, cheddar and sweet chilli relish' with a 'watermelon, apple, mint & lemon' juice, took it down the river and had a nice little brunch. Only negative is I didnt order two!
Great little find nestled in a carpark behind Canning Hwy. But hard to find so look uo google street view beforehand. Jaffles were amazing! Not a huge cafe... but a few tables which was plenty for the weekday we went. We had the lasagne (regular menu) and chilli con carne (special of the day). Service was warm and friendly. Coffees were average and served in disposable cups. Overall great cafe!

Well brewed coffee and a tasty jaffle! Impressed with the barristers abilities to temper soy milk - a rare find in Perth! Jaffles perfect for a cheap breakfast/lunch and combined with the friendly service the experience made for a great catch up joint. Well done old boy - wouldn't mind a dessert jaffle 😝 xoxo partyspoon
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, this is literally around the corner from my workplace and the dudes who run this cafe are absolute legends (CHEEKY COFFEE DISCOUNTS THOUGH). Coffee is great - think a cheeky mocha or a long mac topped up. the blend can be a bit strong/bitter but overall its a nice roast. Cold brew keeps you going in summer, mochas in winter and the toasted jaffles are something from heaven. I would gladly come here for an overpriced sandwich but literally it is cheaper/faster and tastier than you making it yourself at home! Biltong jaffle is 10/10, lasagne jaffle 10/10 and their mars bar slice is the best i've ever had (sorry mum). Drop by for your chill weekend coffee :)
Out for a Saturday morning walk down to the river with the dog and my better half when we took a shortcut through the back of the Kearns st complex and stumbled across The Old Boy.
Best accident this year so far! Finally a great coffee! I mean REALLY good.
I thought I'd try a jaffle as well.
Second amazing decision for the day! Beautiful buttery, crispy jaffles. Soooo good!
Nothing more to say, really!
It's on the car park side of the complex next to the pharmacy 777, where bakers delight used to be. If you don't try it, it's probably just because you don't like great coffee....or amazing food...or friendly service...
Found this place whilst shopping and now been twice and absolutely LOVE the coffee here and the Jaffles are the best snack and have to say the chilli con carne one is my fave 👍😋
Enjoyed a green chicken curry jaffle of the day. At $9.50 it was a little pricey, but it was delicious. Perfectly toasted and crispy outside, bread was still fluffy and fresh, and the filling was very tasty. Cabinet of sweet treats looked fab, too! Staff were super friendly, a little slow even though it was really quiet so I'd be interested to see how quickly they can pump out the jaffles when it's busy. Will be back!
Popped in for a coffee today as I'd heard they made a lovely brew and I was super impressed. The space is small but very funky looking, a small display of sweet treats sits next to the counter (so tempting) and the menu comprises mainly of a selection of gourmet jaffles - um yum! I already had lunch plans so I ordered an Almond Milk Latte and couldn't pass up trying a piece of their Mars Bar Slice ($4.50). The coffee took no time at all to arrive in my hands, and it was sweet and lovely. The blend used was not bit at all and it went down really easily! The slice was so scrumptious and brought me back to my childhood. Crunchy and sticky, every bite left me wanting more! The perfect stop in for coffee and a sweet treat. I'll be back to try the jaffles for sure!!!!
Great coffee! This is really just a grab coffee and hang spot. I must admit, they won me over with their creative cup designs, even before I tasted their coffee. I must try these jaffles . . .
Stopped by for a quick coffee before work. Since it was already 30 degrees at 8am I opted for an iced latte. It was pretty generous in size for $5 and tasted great when the ice had melted and it became more icy and less creamy. This place has the coolest fit out with old fans made into seats, wooden chairs and exposed brick. It seems like the community hub with lots of locals chatting with the friendly staff over their Saturday morning cuppas. Parking is pretty easy so it's a great place for a coffee to go or you can dine in but it is a little small. There's free wifi yay (who doesn't love free wifi comon?!) the baked goods selection is good but not extensive and I did spy a pretty good looking jaffles menu. Maybe grab one of those to go next time too hehe
I visited about half an hour after opening and was surprised that there were few breakfast options available - just some yoghurt cups and some choc chip cookies. I hadn't read the reviews in advance and didn't know about the jaffles - there weren't any obvious signs or menus (maybe too early?). There's limited seating but I loved the fit out with the impressive wall mural and quirky advertising fabric on cushions. Nice touches for the "old boy" (if swagmen drank skinny lattes?).
I was longing for a good comfort food when I stumbled upon The Old Boy at Kearns Cr area. I had a bit of difficulty finding it, but I asked someone and was informed that the café was located next to the Pharmacy 777. The Old Boy café is an airy cosy café that can fit about 15-18 people. They have an outdoor seating for 4 people as part of their premise
Came here on a Saturday to chill out after lunch. Lovely kids corner and nice vibe. Awesome authentic Chai latte and friendly staff. Will be back.
After enjoying Hermosa’s truffle toasty soooooooooo much I’ve been craving another good toasty ever since! I’ve been meaning to check out The Old Boy since it opened its doors 6 weeks ago but dragging myself out of bed earlier on a work day, smack bang in the middle of winter, just didn’t seem so appealing to me. Last week, I felt the need to set a date to try it so I penned in a date with Willie for today. Luckily, The Old Boy is just a short drive from my place! How convenient!
It was much, MUCH smaller than I thought it would be. And prior to getting there had no knowledge of the fact that toasties were all they had (aside from cakes & slices that all looked delicious). That aside, the service was 100%. Their coffee 90%. Their toasties albiet delicious, were a tad overpriced. Would definitely go back :)

The Old Boy Cafe is another newbie in the applecross neighbour! Loving the hood at the moment with all these new cafes. Met some mummy friends and their little ones at the old boy cafe this morning as we were all excited to try this place out. Doors were wide opened when we got there beckoning us to enter.
