Review Indian Zaika Restaurant - Armidale

I had three dishes, they tasted Ok, not very impressive. The service was Ok as well did not feel really welcomed.

Great little spot, delicious and cheap vegetarian eats, BYO and no corkage. Very quiet relaxed setting. So glad we chose this place! Zucchini pakoras were great 🤩 will definitely visit again

We were not sure where to get good vegan food in Armidale and by chance came into this restaurant. The chef made fresh samosa on the spot and the most fresh and delicious palak paneer and aloo mater. Best Indian food I've eaten for ages. Thanks to the chef!

Great little family run place, the lamb vindaloo was the best I have ever had. The red fish curry was great with the Nana's being a wonderful surprise, lite and crispy.

Avoid. Or Be wary. Without saying anything they charged 50 percent more than price when we posted online. When I pointed out the discrepancy they said that was pricing from previous owner. So they argued even though I had an email with the price of our order. They could not explain why they didn’t fix pricing or stop orders. Food was average. They left out part of our order as well.

It was just passing bye meal through Armidale but definitely was worth the stop over. 5 stars for auality of food. Awesoms taste with smiling service. The amenities were too clean as well. Only thing the portion size is bit less for the price paid. Otherwise lovely food..

We came in for dinner here last week when visiting town , it was absolutely delicious!.The service was quick & friendly. Our favorites were the samosas and chicken spinach .The naan was really nice as it was made in-store. Best Indian in Armidale , would highly recommend!

5-star food let down by 1-star service. Had dinner at Indian Zaika this evening as a part of a table of 8 (which we had reserved a table for) and experienced quiet possibly the worst service I have had for a very long time, which was due to the ridiculously long wait time for our main meals and zero communication or apology for why. Our party fully arrived at about 6.40 and by the time we ordered we were 1 of 2 tables in the restaurant. Things started ok with our minimal entrees arriving perhaps 20mins after we ordered. But we were then left waiting for what would have been over an hour for our mains, which were brought out in a completely disjointed manner which meant half the table finished their meal before the other had fully received theirs. Drinks which we had brought ourselves and the fact the group didn’t want to cause drama kept us as patient as possible but we did not receive any communication about what was causing the excessive wait, nor an apology. It even took 10 minutes to get the bill after two requests. It was such a disappointing experience as the food was fantastic. Would only ever visit again if it was with a takeaway order placed well in advanced.

The food was amazing. It was definitely slow, ordering, serving and even in paying, but it was definitely worth the wait. Been a long while since the taste of food excited me, each dish was fantastic and had so much flavour, definitely not your usual Aussie Indian cuisine. Loved the heat scale too, and that those who enjoy hot food can challenge themselves with "Indian hot"! While the service was slow the staff were still very friendly and helpful, and we greatly appreciated the owner coming to speak with us. We will definitely be back, but hopefully they improve on the speed. Absolutely delicious!

After waiting "20" minutes(45), the food used more oil than a badly worn engine. Tastes unlike any Indian I've ever had, and not in a good way. I recommend the Indian place around the corner and not this one.

Best Indian in Armidale. Staff are very accommodating!
