A very decent local. My kids love the honey chicken.
Great dinner run by a Taiwanese couple, with amazing Taiwanese food! We ordered the smoky chicken, freshwater shrimp, and their signature egg roll, which was invented by the chef himself. All the dishes came with great portion and authentic Taiwanese flavour, really tasted like homemade! Service was fast and good. Will go back for sure.
We like this place a lot. Service is minimum but friendly, dishes are really good.
If you want smoked chicken, go early. We missed out when we arrived at 7:30.
We tried few dishes(not entree selection), and all tasty. Dine in here instead of take away if you can. We found more value for money when we eat at the shop. Also deliver really quickly.
They have the Best smoked chicken ever!! I'm craving for it! If i'll be back in Sydney, i'll definitely go back and eat here. Superb! Other dish I've tried was also good. Can't wait to be back here.
Fantastic food and friendly people, kid friendly, not fancy setting but food is top notch, we drive from Ryde to come here every week, and its always good
Really nice home style Taiwanese restaurant. The smoked chicken is REALLY good, lots of smoky flavour, really juicy and tender meat. The calamari roll with salted egg was quite disappointing for me, $14 for something quite small, and the flavour just didn't get me.
Noodle soup was quite nice, but nothing too special.
The smoked chicken will have me coming back, and I will try more of their other dishes.
The bathroom is located outside and in another building.
It's 5 stars for the chicken, I came back again and was even more impressed. The other stuff is good, but the smoked chicken is the standout dish!
Smoked chicken!!! Unbelievably succulent, subtle, tender, moist, delicious smoked chicken. I didn't eat anything else. How could I? Why would I? All I need is smoked chicken
Crispy Squid and Egg is flavoursome and full of textures, a great entre to have and stir up your appetite.
The (signature) Smoked Chicken has a pleasant, smoky aroma and yet the meat is succulent and tender! It is seasoned just perfectly; not too salty, not too bland.
The Stir-Fry Vermicelli (Taiwanese style) has carefully balanced ingredients: mushrooms, cabbage, pulled chicken and shallots. The vermicelli is crunchy and not doughy, not soggy. And you can still taste the broth-soaked vermicelli.
Finish this wild adventure with a Sour-and-Spicy Soup is the best way to conclude a cold, winter day!
Definitely reckon Taipei Chef has one of the highest cost/benefit ratio :)
Thank God for this restaurant with great food, flavoursome dishes, adventurous experience and VERY reasonably priced. Praise God for nourishing me with such great food while I am jobless and without income!

Honestly their smoked duck is the best thing that ever happen in life. While I have tried many roasted duck before, however it is my first time to hear about smoked duck. I gotta admit that I was a bit skeptical at first, however the feeling soon replaced with a magical fireworks above my head. It was easily a memorable dish that I will not stop recommending it to my friends. While the duck was really tender with a bit of saltiness to it (which is perfect btw), but what I really enjoy is the smell of the roast itself. Apart from that I also order the beef noodle. The flavor wasn't as strong as the roasted duck, which make them the perfect compliment to each other.
The only downside I can say from this place is that their service may not have been the best place you should expect a good service from.
Taipei Chef is located just up the hill from Artarmon Station and it serves up many Taiwanese dishes and snacks like the well-known Taiwanese Beef Noodle soup. We often pass by this restaurant on the slope and have always been temped by its offerings. Despite seeing mixed reviews about the service and food quality, we decided to visit Taipei Chef to see what all the fuss was about.
