Review L'annam - Artarmon

A nice looking bakery and coffee shop. The pork rolls are one of the best in Sydney and the loaves of bread are fantastic. The have a small selection of tasty snacks. The coffee can be a bit of a hit or miss. The place is reasonable priced. Service is pretty good.

I've really wanted to like this place as I live nearby, but my experience here hasn't been fantastic. The coffee has been hit and miss - sometimes good, but more often than not so-so. Their pastries are good, but expensive for what you get. The thing that killed it for me was getting charged an extra $2 when I requested that my pork roll be spicy. The staff were really rude when I asked about the price difference and threw the roll down on the counter when they gave it to me. And after coughing up the extra $2 for the chilli, I realised when I got home that my roll had no chilli at all in it.

We decided to sit in rather than take away while we waited for our laundry cycle to finish at the local laundromat. We ordered coffee and a bacon and egg roll. My wife surveyed the other offerings of cakes and rolls and decided on just coffee. The coffee was only luke warm, and just barely that. My wife doesn't like her coffee too hot but this was even too cool for her. I like my coffee hot, so I didn't like it at all. They heated up a pre cooked bacon and egg roll except that it wasn't heated all the way through. As we were only there for 30 minutes and it took 10 minutes to get the coffee and roll I couldn't be bothered asking for it to be heated all through. I am not sure how long the roll had been pre cooked for. I do know that the egg was approaching rubber in consistency so I am guessing that it had been there a while. The two stars are mainly for the staff who were very friendly. We won't be going back any time soon though

I tried this place several times in order to give it a fair go... - Coffee is mediocre and luke warm. - Fruitflies all over the food inside the window. - Service quite abrupt/rude. If you don't want customers in your shop, pack up and leave. There are businesses who can't do better in that spot. No surprise on every other review, but surprised that the owner does not read them in order to learn something. Many people here say that they need Customer Service training... If you don't learn basic manners from home when you grow up, no training can help you.

I think this is one of the best coffee/bakery places in Sydney. I am in there most days of the week and the coffee and food is always fabulous. Highly recommended.

I did enjoy my coffee there. I go there often and I recommended for my friends. Staffs are very friendly and professional. They smile to you which is one of many important things. The service is very fast, I am really impressed! Only one thing to consider is improve the way you serve green tea; my favourite. Even if you wait for ages, you will find hot water only!!!! Lot of spots to park or you can come by train to Artamon Train Station 🚉 it is just on the opposite side 👍👍

Great coffee and delicious baguettes. I've been here plenty of time since moving to Artarmon almost a year ago and have never experienced bad service or coffee.

The baguette roll was nice but the coffee came out dark and burnt. Staff need proper training on coffee making.

The service is sloppy. If it is busy, you may want to seek a different place for coffee.
We only go there to get baguette, which is the best one around this area.

Their baguette is freshly baked, we try to get it at eye morning and just eat as it is with butter or your favorite fillings.... yummy!!! We tried sour dough loaf, which is great too. Not cheap but worth to pay $4.5 - 5.0.

The staff is extremely rude and disrespectful. We ordered 2 large coffees with 2 sugars each. All sugar was in the bottom and the coffee was bitter. Campos coffee is one of my favourite but they made it crappy. By the way, they just care about Asian people!! You can feel the discrimination. I can not suggest anyone.

One of the many cafes in the area for a coffee and cake fix. Cappuccino ($3.50) using Campos Coffee was quite good and the Strawberry & Pistachio Mousse ($7.30) is apparently housemade like many of their other cakes on display. Was quite nice although the strawberry on top looked a little tired and I generally prefer when served without the green stem still attached. Decor and surrounds pleasant and free street parking in the area. Service OK but there's room to be more welcoming and friendly.

Above average croissants and unfilled/filled baguettes for the lower north shore area at a reasonable price point ($4/$8). Not special but still nice. Suitable for casual return visits.

Been here with my friend for a brunch on Saturday because I was attracted to the sweet menu. Service was efficient. Highly recommended Flourless hazelnut. I can't complain more by paying less than $40 for the full table of food. :)

This is a very relaxing yet loud Cafe, a great place to hang out with friends and family. The New York style really adds to it and the food is great.
