Review Little Byrd - Ascot Vale

Michael
☆ Passed by Little Byrd's 'Espresso' at Highpoint Shopping Centre. ☆ Staff were very welcoming and friendly, even during a busy time. This made all the difference, as other coffee outlets in the Centre don't really value customer service. ☆ Price for the coffee was reasonable and coffee itself was delicious. ☆ Will certainly be returning to try their other beverages and sweets on offer.

Ordered the homemade beef burger. It was juicy and delicious and comes with a side of thin chips. Would definitely eat here again. Lots of flavour. Definitely a good burger.

Great Cafe in Ascot Vale, 2nd time there on a Saturday. Staff are so lovely and friendly, they sound like they love their job and it reflects in their customer service, coffee there is fantastic and atmosphere is chilled and humble. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a great coffee and superb service.

Local cafe serving Campos coffee and popular with regulars

The big breakfast spinach is too salty, but the fried cheese is very tasty. You can choose the way to cooking the eggs, and the bread is also very good. Staff service deserves full marks, very friendly and funny, so that we can enjoy a very comfortable and satisfied brunch. We also take away two beautiful cakes home, the pity is a bit too sweet.

Went in yesterday for lunch with a bunch of my friends. Little Byrd is a cozy cafe with some really comfortable seating both on the inside and some place on the outside. The servers were very patient with us while we gave our orders in. We ordered French Toast Chicken Burger Beef Burger Bircher Avo toast with poached eggs Every dish was curated in the best way to compliment each other. Loved the fact how every dish not only looked pretty but also was actually tasty.

Came here for a group brunch and it didn't disappoint. I had the broken avo with a side of bacon which crispy where it needed to be and 2 perfectly poached eggs. Included was a beautiful beetroot hummus and the dukkah and goat cheese was a delish addition. Great vibe in the cafe driven by the welcoming owner and staff. The beetroot latte was also such a vibrant pink and the use of honey to sweeten it up was perfect. Cafe is spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommended 👌

Disappointed! A takeaway $8 milkshake with no ice cream and warm milk. If I wanted a chocolate milk I would have got a big M. At least it would have been cold. If you had no ice cream, it would have been nice of you to let me know before taking my money.

The best coffee in Ascot Vale; amazing staff, exceptional service, always our go to cafe! Rob, Lauren & Cody are the most amazing at making you feel right at home! Highly recommend if you're disabled, they've always gone out of their way to help open doors, move seats/tables and make our experience an amazing one. The vibe is very comfortable with even the other customers being friendly and chatty.

Best coffee in the world served right here without a doubt also amazing hospitality from Rob and staff we are regulars for a reason .... awesome food too

I usually don't write reviews, however on this occasion I feel I need to. Lovely food, however the table sizes are just a joke. I overheard one of the waitresses say to another literally over my head "I can't wait to get out of here", to which the other replied with "I know, 2 more weeks"... How unprofessional can you get? And to finish off the meal nicely, I found a yellow fingernail in my salad. Will not be returning anytime soon...

Ordered 17 coffees.... all to perfection 👍... We will be back👍🕶

Waited quite awhile to get a table here but didn’t really mind. The staff were nice but the food service was just very very slow despite the cafe not being full during our time sitting. We felt it was a little over priced for what we ordered. The big breakfast wasn’t that appealing. The cutlery and glasses we got were also dirty. All things aside, food was otherwise nice.

This gorgeous little cafe set out in Ascot Vale was very warm and welcoming! The staff were friendly and seated us straight away. They have a gorgeous cosy corner table with decorative cushions which was super comfy! The food came out promptly and was presented absolutely beautifully! I tried the special, mushroom, capsicum and haloumi on sourdough. This dish was a big stand out, all the flavours, together with the balsamic glaze was a perfect pairing! The French Toast was cooked beautifully and had just enough moisture with the maple syrup. I enjoyed all the dishes ordered, and had a wonderful eating experience at Little Byrd. I will be back for some more fantastic food!

😎 FEELING SOUV-LAKI.. MIGHT ENTER THE POWERBALL 💰
.
How do you insult a Greek? 🇬🇷
Answer - Tell them their Tzatziki tastes like it's store bought! 😲
.
👇🏽 TAG A GREEK MATE! 👇🏽
------------------------------------------
📍 Ascot Vale, VIC
🏠 @little.byrd
.
🇬🇷 Open Souvlaki - $19.0
.
This is one great Cafe! 👏🏼 @little.byrd have a brilliant menu that's open for breakfast and lunch! Whichever you're feeling for, you know you'll be treated with a treat! 😉
.
✔️ 9/10! THIS ISN'T YOUR AVERAGE OPEN SOUVLAKI! 🤤
.
First up, this isn't your average open souvlaki! ☝🏽 We all know that there are some damn average souvlaki joints that have no flavour at all! This is not one of them 🤔 Growing up and living in Oakleigh, I've been exposed to some of the best Greek food in melbourne 👌🏽 from delicious moussaka and my favourite sweet treat galaktaboureko to some of the best gyro plates around 😍 I have to say though.. This is easily in my top 3 as a souvlaki open plate! 😲 Thick Fluffy fresh pita bread topped with a deliciously marinated chicken and punchy salad! 🥗 Then to top it off a phenomenal Tzatziki!! There's a secret ingredient in there that makes this bad boy the hero of the dish for me! 😎 So much balance to this dish! 🤓 All the ingredients work together gorgeously to create a diverse plate of flavours 😍 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
.
💵 VFM - fantastic! Considering I've paid $15-20 for some pretty bad plate, I do not mind paying $19.0 for this gem! 💎 It may be on the lesser portion side of the scale but it will still fill your tank and tastes damn good! 👌🏽
.
💡 TIP - if you're after breakfast then you can't go past the pulled pork benny that's served on potato rostis 🐽 it's legit amazing! Keep an eye out for the review to come 💯
.
A little Byrd told me there was an Ascot Vale café drawing the crowd with its laid back vibe, and delicious menu offerings. I love when breakfast is served all day, especially when its Sunday and breakfast tends to be after midday if you’ve had a big Saturday night!

A healthy option the morning after is the Quinoa and Oat Porridge, with caramelised banana, and berry compote. Couldn’t resist the Broken Avocado with goat’s cheese and beetroot hummus.

Little Byrd is a quaint but bustling café in Ascot Vale that pulls inspiration from the Middle East and Mediterranean – a trend that seems to be picking up in the Melbourne cafe scene. The little brother of the famous Shanklin Cafe, Little Byrd offers a wide range of dishes sure to satisfy your brunching needs, with delightfully executed dishes complemented by the chef’s own natural flair here and there.

Not sure why - tried their phone number 3 times. Message not connected . Thought must have the wrong number - checked on google- sure enough I have the right tel number. Not happy to travel a long way and not have a booking for breakfast !
Flying Forward
Little Byrd is a surprisingly busy café. It feels down to earth with exposed brick and compact tables - no fuss of IG friendly pastels, plants and other gimmicks.
Head honcho Rabih is unmissable, as his personality is warm and welcoming, popular with the locals.
We were seated quickly, but after ordering food, the dishes took a while to come out. The drinks even arrived after the food.

• Falafel bowl – Falafel was dry and crumbly, quite disappointing as the showcase of the dish. Quite a healthy option, as the rest of the ingredients are quite fresh. I added a fried egg for a bit of protein kick.

• Mushroom & Halloumi Stack – The toasted sourdough bread was a little on the hard side. The red peppers were sweet and paired well with the grilled halloumi.

• Fresh OJ – lovely freshly squeezed pulpy orange juice, naturally sweet!

• Coffee – my strong latte is a little on the watery side, feels like the milk was steamed on quite roughly.

Thanks to the team at Little Byrd for the invitation!

What a hidden gem in Ascot Vale! This cosy cafe served Middle Eastern inspired brunch. We came on a busy sunday morning.

We had their open chicken souva and eggs benedict with BBQ Pulled pork on a halloumi and potato fritter t. Everything was delicious and our highlight was the eggs benedict that was rich in flavour! Their open souva had the perfect balance of veg and chicken on a toasted pita bread that was soft and fluffy (although it was a bit oily).

To finish off our meal we had their french toast. Which is definitely one of the biggest servings I've seen. We loved the use of mascarpone rather than ice cream.

Breakfast gem on union road. Ordered bircher and chilli scrabbled eggs. Wife liked bircher but taste of passion fruit on sides sets her off. Scrabbled eggs nicely done, toast of little to hard, don't like corners anyway. Most I loved was coffee.

We had visited Little Byrd for brunch and it was such a good time! Here’s what we had!

Shakshuka - spiced tomato sauce in middle eastern spices with Turkish sausage and baked eggs topped with crumbed feta! As you can imagine, the sauce was thick and cheesy and had good flavoring to it! You could even eat it on its own without any bread!

French toast - topped with berries, fruits, vanilla beans, mascarpone and cookie crumbs accompanied by a separate bottle of maple syrup! The french toast was cooked to perfection with it being fluffy and thick and not overly sweet! The maple syrup added onto a french toast was a good idea especially since I’m a sweet tooth!

Eggs with barbecued pulled pork - halloumi and potato fritter served with barbecued pulled pork and poached eggs on top! Now this was my favorite for 2 reasons! The pulled pork was perfect with its moistness and juiciness whereas others are too dry and stringy! Secondly, the fritters were amazing! So crunchy, so moist, so complementary with the pulled pork and poached eggs - you get the idea! Even I was surprised as I usually lean towards the sweets! It was perfect!

Our experience at Little Byrd was fantastic and we are keen on trying the rest of their dishes! 🙌
Tinmans Treats
A little byrdie told me about this gem in Ascot Vale.

I was privileged to be invited to try the menu at Little Byrd. A cosy cafe in the quieter end of Ascot Vale, there is a community culture at Little Byrd - the staff are friendly towards each other, and friendly to their customers. They know many of their names and orders which is a sign of a place that is eager to please. I loved the vibe here the moment I walked in.

Both dishes I had were spectacular for different reasons. The pulled pork on potato rosti was very special, great balance of flavours. It's perfect as breakfast, brunch or even lunch! Perfect for a hangover, but I was more than happy to have this sober. The french toast, was visually pleasing, decadent but not being too sickly. Highly recommended both dishes. Decent coffee, refreshing juice.

My friend who lives nearby raves about this place - so it's popular for the locals as well. If I could move to Ascot Vale and have Little Byrd as my local - I so would! In any case, I'll be back as I got friends this way and this is the perfect hangout.

Bravo!

This cafe was super busy when we arrived yet their service was superb! It's very warm and cosy inside/ outside. Thankyou to Robby and his lovely staff!

We ordered a few cappuccinos to start of with. Followed by the coconut chia bowl, the broken avocado with poached eggs, beetroot and hummus & the Shakshuka.

Everything exceeds my expectations. The coffee was beautifully made. The food tastes amazing but also homely. I can say so much more but it won't compare to how it actually tastes. Make sure you come in and check it out for yourself! Very highly recommend!
Food Dine Roll
A little local gem of Ascot Vale.
While these days most people enjoy going to a little more modern and hip looking cafe, Little Byrd is a warm cozy and friendly - kinda feels like you are eating at a friend's cafe.

The food was amazing.
Pulled pork hollandaise was great. But what surprising me most was the burger. Omg. It's one of the best 🍔

I'm genuinely avoid burger at cafe places but this place is GOLD!👍

Just a short walk from the station on main street lies Little Byrd, a bustling rustic cafe with a bit of Middle Eastern inspiration. Serving up all the brunchy classics and things I want to order too! Like the fruit salad with ice cream. It was a lovely day to sit outside, otherwise we would have loved that corner table with the Moroccan throw pillows, rustic and inner suburbs meets some more exotic flavours...
Linnie Eats All The Food
On the busy street of Union Road in Ascot Vale sits a humble cafe with a relaxed atmosphere and interior design. Little Byrd doesn’t have a massive sign out front but you know which one it is with locals sitting outside and inside laughing with their cup of coffe/tea/juice/chocolate. I thought it’ll be a great daddy daughter day and showed daddy bear the ropes of a Melbourne brunch.
Lizzie Eats Melbourne
😱Lizzie’s first impression: a humble cafe situated on the busy strip of Ascot Vale. The staff here are so warm, friendly and welcoming - I instantly felt good vibes walking in.

🍩Lizzie enjoyed: I loved the baked eggs that I ordered. The sourdough toast made it easy to scoop the baked eggs. There was a generous amount of chorizo which I quite enjoyed. I also tried the French toast and that was amazing - it was a simple maple syrup with French toast and some cream and Oreos but it was made to perfection.

🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: I would have liked the French toast to have more condiments to complement it like another type of berry of fruit but other than that I really really enjoyed the flavours.

🥇Lizzie rates overall: a really beautiful cafe and I can’t wait to go back to try more dishes.

Little Byrd Cafe is a small cafe in Ascot Vale area, although the sign of the cafe was not too obvious but you cant miss the small bird house near the entrance door. This cafe overall look is giving you rustic feel with colorful cushions with hint of Mediterranean look. We started off with our usual cappuccino and Chai Latte to warm ourselves while we were going through the menu.

Service was amazing. The guy had made me a falafel wrap even though it was no longer on the menu. Love the falafels here! Big breakfast was also amazing
Quince And Cheese
A very cute and slightly retro inspired little place serving great Mediterranean-inspired fare. I ordered a shackshuka which the staff were happy to make vegetarian. It wasn't very sauce but had a wonderful rich tomato flavour and the perfect amount of cheese and veg. I also got the spanikopita (served with a Greek side salad, plus a side of haloumi per my request). It was the best pairing for the other dish - slather a bit of shackshuka sauce on the pastry and top it with a bit of salad and you've got the perfect bite. I couldn't pass up a sweet dish to finish, so I tried the chia pudding bowl. It was fresh and healthy with a topping of fruit and what I believe was housemade granola. The drinks selection is simple but offers everything one would need, from coffee to juice to Kombucha to shakes. I can see why this cafe is a local favourite.
Some Bunee Loves Food
As soon as I walked in this cafe, I can see it's a local favourite as it's the most busiest cafe on that street and the owner is super friendly to everyone. There were kids, and people with dogs sitting outside - so it's a kid and pet-friendly place.

I felt like something sweet so I ordered a hot chocolate and the French toast.

The hot chocolate came with an 'art', with the sides covered in chocolate powder. I forgot to let them know I didn't want any chocolate on top because I don't want my hot chocolate to be very sweet, but I tried it and it was surprisingly really nice, smooth and not as sweet as I thought.

The french toast came on a plate like a work of art. It was very beautifully decorated and looked awesome. It was topped with berries, fruits, vanilla bean mascarpone and cookie crumbs around the crunchy yet fluffy french toast. There was a side of maple syrup which was great, as you can control the sweetness of the dish. It wasn't as sweet as I thought which was great, and the french toast when paired with the fruits and a bit of cookie crumbs just made it taste so good together.

Love this dish and have already recommended my friends to try this out! Thank you Little Byrd.

Where does bird royalty live?

Duckingham Palace 😂

But no, you don’t need to fly to London to feel like a little royal 👑 and I’m pretty sure that and you won’t be judged by not wearing Armani or Gucci - in fact I’m pretty sure that if you walked with your pyjamas no one would care!

This little bird is not little at all: it has the beauty and fearlessness of an eagle! And the tweetment that Robby gives to his costumers is based on his life ethos: good coffee, good food, good service, good souls.

In fact I have to be honest here and even say that I was expecting to have a good meal, a good time, but not much more. OH BOY WAS I WRONG.

This place is very well known by the locals and the single thing that impressed me the most (besides the food - yes, I will get there soon) was definitely the smiles. Yes, EVERYONE was smiling at this place which reflects how much love and passion, how welcoming the place is. I felt at home, welcomed, loved, surrounded by laughs and a beyond delicious spread.

Not only is the food quite instagramable (as you can see from the pictures) and there a lot of attention to detail, but the taste of every single meal is outstanding. Every dish on the menu has been carefully planned and experimented so that people can be pleasantly overwhelmed just with the first mouthful taken. They are more than happy accomodating and playing around with ingredients to suit every dietary needs to - no awkwardness or staring looks if you ask to change some things 👏

Here are my thoughts about the food:

- French Toast - Robby kindly adapted and created a vegan version with GF and DF bread and some vegan icecream of his usual French Toast and I would say he absolutely nailed it 👌
It’s hard to find vegan French toasts in Melbourne and to be able to enjoy a meal that suits your dietary needs. And I have to say that this meal was beyond amazing and surpassed all my expectations - the soft and fluffy bread along with fruits and icecream is basically heaven. Plus, adding maple syrup creates that perfect sweetness that makes you crave for more and more and I wouldn’t change a thing about this dish at all - ingredients ✅ portion ✅ taste ✅

- Bircher with coconut yogurt - a true revelation again! I’m not a huge fan or Bircher (versus smoothie bowls) but I was tempted to see if Little Byrd’s version wasn’t too sweet and with a good consistency. There is lot of science of how an oatmeal or bircher is cooked and I am definitely very picky when it comes to the consistency. It takes skill to to prepare it right and even though I am more a thicker-consistency fan, this won me over. It was seriously the creamiest (but not too runny!) bircher and possibly the best one I’ve had 👏

- Shakshuka - nourishing, filling and one meal that screams fun breakfast all over it. The taste was wonderfully exotic and the two pieces of sourdough allows you to combine the perfect flavoured dip with a touch of crunchiness. I only got to try a piece of this one but my friend was seriously impressed and delighted.

- Falafel Bowl with beetroot hummus and extra avocado - I asked for the Labneh to be put on the side so that I could enjoy a vegan version of this meal and I was dazzled by how much I enjoyed this meal, being a more sweet type of person! The beetroot spread was astonishing and beautiful presented and the paired with the falafels and some avocado makes it a true signature dish.

- Chai almond latte - perfectly executed and not too sweet - just hitting that delightful spot 👌

- Flat white - well executed and quite pleasant to taste.

It was truly one of the best spreads I’ve had and this place definitely gets thumbs up and nods of approval. The fact that everyone around seemed to be enjoying themselves make it even more pleasant and having that synergy in a cafe make it feel as if all is right in the world. I would 100% recommend for everyone to check this place and I will definitely visit it again soon!

—————————————
second visit on 11/08/2019

Are you ready to fly away?

To spread your wings and taste freedom?

Actually, scientists believe that birds evolved dinosaurs, and no Sunday couldn’t have been better spent than spreading my own wings to visit my old favourite and special friend of mine.

It’s hard to keep costumers coming back when there are so many great venues in Melbourne and I am someone who likes diversity and to visit different places. But there are a couple of places in my list that I want to visit over and over again and again his is certainly one of them. Why? Because not many places could have magically orchestrated an allergen friendly option in the very moment.

No, Robby sure doesn’t fly away from a challenge and he spread his magical wins and created a new (and possible permanent!) version of their famous French Toast. Should I even call this a future vegan foodie drool alert?

Anyway when I arrived at the venue, I wasn’t nearly expecting it to be so busy as it was. Seriously, the locals do know how to brunch and choose good places because there wasn’t even one empty table (besides the one that was kindly reserved for me). Such a bright and uplifting atmosphere filled with laughter and love. Real love.

After greeting Robby and their staff I went to check the menu to see what new options they had and what I could choose differently from my past visit. However even though I had tried a DF version of their French Toast last time (kindly asking and planning it in advance) this time I hadn’t made any dietary specific requests... but to my surprise , Robby asked me if I wanted to have a new, improved and possible permanent version that suited my dietary requirements! 🤭 THE BEST SURPRISE EVER! I obviously couldn’t say no to such tempting and incredible (and generous!) offer - it’s so good to be surprised in live and find that venues care about providing the best care and service to all their costumers!

So, here’s what we had:

- French Toast - obviously I had to start with this one and let me tell you that this was a true winner! Making some twists from the original version (that contains dairy), this version was completely allergen friendly a it will be massively appreciated by the vegan costumers if it becomes permanent on the menu. It’s amazing how sometimes playing around with ingredients can work so well! In this case no egg or milk was used to create that fluffy effect of the French Toast and instead, they used layers of coconut yogurt! I think it’s genius! 👏 and to come up with that in that very same time - again, genius, genius! 👏👏👏 not only does the bread become moist and fluffy but it doesn’t end up too watery or falling apart like sometimes some french roasts end up. Even me, not a huge fan of coconut yogurt (that you have probably read a million times if you have read my reviews 😂), I have to admit and be honest saying that I loved every single mouthful here and I really appreciated the fact that there was significant amount of coconut yogurt in between the slices. The brand chosen also helps and Coyo Organics is certainly a very good option with great quality and taste in regards to their products 👏 and if that wasn’t enough, a surprising 3 huge scoops of salted caramel icecream from the same brand were placed as gold stars on top - so so SO good. With a drizzle of maple syrup (just with the right amount and not too much - this place always takes into consideration that people might not have a major sweet tooth and if you want more you can always ask for it) and some blueberries, strawberries and kiwi slices, this was just the ideal combo. Simple and decadent. Flavourful and magnificent! I really hope more people get to try this version and that it comes permanent on the menu as a vegan/allergen friendly option as I am WAY more than certain that people will love it.

- Quinoa and Oat Porridge - I had tried their bircher last time and it had been possibly one of the most creamy and tasteful birchers I have ever... devoured (yes, it was out of this world!) so obviously I was quite curious about how their porridge was! And plus quinoa and oats combined - interesting start indeed 🙌 the final result is actually amazing and every cinnamon lover will love this and cry for it to never end. It is a flavour and nutritional goodness and a perfect idea for winter breakfasts! The quinoa gives that nutty flavor and blends really well with the oats, that become soft and moist, leading to a wonderful wonderful meal! The milk where it’s cooked (I’m pretty sure it’s made in a pan at medium heat) can also be found in the bottom of the bowl, once you dig in into everything and although I’m usually more found of having thick and creamy oats here the blend is smooth and SO delicious! Even the milk on the bottom was ideal with that special touch of cinnamon - I just wanted to lick the bowl! 🤭😂 in terms of topping they were incredible just for the simple yet mouth drooling caramelised banana - seriously SO SO SO good! The mixed berry compote was exceptional too and perfect in terms of quantity and quality! 👏 there were also some insanely delightful roasted almond and coconut shaves and this was undoubtedly a meal I want to repeat again! 👏 great portion, great ingredients and GREAT taste, making it an amazing final result!
e
- Coconut Chia Pudding - This was a meal with some mixed feeling actually for many reasons. The overall combo works really well and it is certainly a filling meal. There is a bottom and filling layer with a great portion of a chia pudding made with a pure lush and delicious coconut milk and the mix is not overly sweet but doesn’t have much taste either. I would compare this to a soft vanilla pudding type of consistency and I think that if they added coconut cream instead of coconut milk, the blend would take an extra edge and be much more interesting. It is topped with an abundant amount of granola that again is surprisingly not sweet and doesn’t have much besides form crumbles of golden oats and I think that here, if the choice of granola would be different and even included some nuts or dried fruits, the flavour of the mix would be incredible! It is also paired with some seasonal fruit that looked and tasted incredibly (every product that they use is fresh and with great quality and that is something to be recognisable and highly appreciated!) ❤️👏However I do think that some more natural sweetness either form the fruits or even from a jam spread would work really well here – in fact the coconut yogurt portion in the middle was so welcome just because it gave that little sweetness to the combo! Actually because none of the elements of the bowl were particularly sweet and adding some honey (that came with the lattes) was a very good call and make the granola much more enjoyable to eat. Like I said, it is a good filling meal but in my opinion could definitely have some slightly twists and be improved! 🙌

- Beetroot Almond Latte - An interesting drink, indeed. Actually this might have been one of the strongest tasting beetroot lattes I have ever tried in my life so far. The taste was quite strong and even with an earthy touch which I think it was related with the amount of beetroot powder that was used. I wouldn’t say that I was the most pleasant drink that I have drank but it also wasn’t the worst and actually you grow on the taste once you are a few sips in. It was nicely blended nonetheless and I will highlight (because I always like to look at the positives) the beautiful presentation it came, with a delicate and gorgeous latte art 👏😍There is also the option of adding some honey to it in case you find that it lacks sweetness but I didn’t find it necessary. I actually spoke to Robby at the end to try to change the powder used (as I have tried several brands in both venues and my own smoothie creations) and I am sure the future lattes will be impressive.

- Turmeric Soy Latte - Again, I was surprised with this drink and there are a few things that could definitely be changed. The taste of the turmeric is fairly strong too (which I think it was due to creating the visual instagramable and appealing effect). I personally didn’t think the taste was spicy 😂 but I think that many people would find this to be too intense and it would be safer to use less powder/liquid as turmeric itself even in few amounts provides quite a flavourful and powerful result. It comes sprinkled with cinnamon and a beautiful S was designed on top which requires talent to be achieved so an applause for that. Similarly to the beetroot latte, I gave Robby some friendly recommendations about other brands to use and I would love to see the future products he will create! 🤗

Little Byrd is a place of love, care and just… a place that you will feel part of the family. You know that by visiting this place you will not only get a worthy and soul-filling meal but you will also feel valued and wanted every single second of your stay here ❤️ It is definitely more than just a ‘brunch place’ and you can count that this little bird will always have you under his wing. Plus, coincidentally, on the very same day he received Tess Presso sign of approval! Great job, little one, great job! 👏👏👏

I have lived in the ascot vale area my whole life and I can't believe I only recently discovered this place. It is clearly an institution with locals, the staff knew almost every customer and the service offered to everyone was impeccable. It is cute and homely. The coffee was on point which is important, of course, and the food was also delicious. We had the falafel bowl, which was healthy and filling, served with falafels, quinoa, pickles, beans, avocado and beetroot hummus. The baked eggs and the bircher muesli were my favourites though. The muesli was a big serve, and came topped with delicious fresh fruit and a pistachio crumb. I could have eaten this all day. The baked eggs had perfectly balanced flavours, with loads of chorizo to give it that meaty kick. I can't fault this place - warm and inviting, with great food and good coffee, and friendly staff. Win!Thanks for having us!

I was invited to try Little Byrd’s menu the other day and chose a Wednesday morning to bring kiddo over thinking that it would be nice and quiet. What was unexpected was that this cafe was packed to the brim with families and workers getting their breakfast and coffees! Rabih the owner greeted each and everyone with a warm and energetic good morning while spinning out coffees at breakneck speed.

While kiddo made himself at home by playing with different toys from the toy box in the corner, I sat down and perused the menu. One thing I noticed was that the kids menu was slightly uninspiring. Eggs on toast is great but fruit salad with icecream?! Or French toast with icecream (again!) does not make a healthy meal for children.

I decided to order the Bircher museli for kiddo Instead and was suggested to order half serve cos it’s huge. Great idea and I love being able to order half serves in cafes! The kiddo smashed most of it cos it was so yummy.

I had a pulled pork with poached eggs, halloumi and potato fritter and hollandaise which was very rich but omg so yummy! Kiddo had half of my pulled pork because it was melt in your mouth tender with Smokey and slightly sweet flavours. Delicious!!! The crispy hallpumi and potato fritter had chunky potato and halloumi bits in it. I like it how it’s slightly different from eggs benedict we get from normal brekkie places, because why have ham when you can have pulled pork and more importantly, why have English muffin when you can have POTATO AND HALOUMI fritter as a vehicle to mop up all the eggy porky hollandaisey goodness?!

Thank you Little Byrd for inviting us to try your delicious food. 😋

We were kindly invited to bruch with Little Byrd today. I love the brick wall interior of this place - the atmosphere inside was chill and cosy.
We ordered the baked eggs and the special cheesy green omelette and the boss, Rabih, came over and offered us dessert to end our meal. We chose the chia pudding.
The food was served quickly and they looked beautiful. The baked eggs came with 2 thick slices of toast which I dunked into the tomatoey baked eggs. Delish. The dish was packed with Turkish sausages which were very tasty.
The cheesy green omelette was cooked well and was packed with flavour.
The chia pudding was the perfect end to the meal - it was refreshing and had a great combination of flavour, freshness and texture.
I also ordered the iced coffee which was aromatic and had just the right ratio of coffee to milk to ice cream.
The service was excellent too - everyone was very friendly and kept coming over to check if everything was OK and if we were enjoying our meal.
Thank you so much Little Byrd for the invite to your lovely cafe.

A beautiful Saturday morning for drive to Ascot Vale where there the cafes are bustling. This cafe isn't obvious to find but when you find it its a small simply styled cafe. Staff are really good here. Quite a simple menu with a few breakfast classics. Food cooked well and presented just beautifully.

What an absolutely charming cafe, this is a definite must if you have on your radar.

The cafe is cosy and very inviting, Robbie the owner and the wait staff give you a 10/10 experience. The food and coffee beyond my expectations.

My broken avo was unlike any I have had before, the beetroot hummus and dukkah element lifts the dish and not only is the visual beautiful but so is the taste. My eggs poached perfectly and the mixed fresh juice just amazing! I would also like to express my appreciation on how amazing the coffee was, my double rosetta perfect.

Tim.E ordered the stack and wow what a stack it was! We finished off with some little cakes that were divine, we couldn't fit in anymore room for anything else.

This is a cafe to visit and I'd like to thank Tim.E for asking me to be his plus 1 and a massive thank you to Robbie. I wish you all the success with the cafe as it really is amazing.

There is a warmth beaming from this cosy cafe that so many Melbourne cafes lack. The atmosphere was buzzing when we arrived, and diners were chatting to neighbouring tables, and dogs tails were wagging as they got extra scratches behind their ears. Rabih, the owner has built a hub for the northside community, with great coffee, and a beautiful menu with a middle eastern twist.

The menu is organic with free range produce which is right up my alley. At least I know when I eat here I’m not eating chemicals and that the animals have a good life.

Initially I had a piccolo latte which had some good froth, a good caffeine hit and it was a perfect way to start.

For brunch I ordered a Portobello Mushroom and Halloumi stack which consisted of sourdough toast, bacon, 2 poached eggs, red pepper, avocado and pomegranate molasses. Phew what a mouthful, and it was! hahaha

This was absolutely delicious, the eggs were cooked perfectly, they were soft on the inside, the bacon was crispy, the red pepper was a great addition and the avocado was delicious. The pomegranate molasses gave the dish some sweetness.

I then tried a delicious healthy turmeric latte w some yummy honey, Mmnn this was good!

To finish off we shared 2 cakes and they were excellent too, a cheesecake and a pistachio and date cake. What a great way to finish my meal.

We both really enjoyed our meal immensely. This cafe is definitely worth the drive and w a reasonably priced menu, it won’t break the bank.

Thanks to the owners for inviting us. Oh and this cafe is now open 7 days a week so you won’t miss out! Enjoy.

Oh man!!!! I absolutely loved Little Byrd in Ascot Vale. Robby the owner is amazing, so friendly and we had a great chat - which I love doing!! All the staff were exceptionally friendly and kind.

The food is next level! That omlette is perfection with its smoked salmon and goats cheese. The Falafel Bowl is so fresh and colourful, the flavours working well.

My dining buddy really enjoyed the chicken souvlakia too, it smelt incredible!

Coffee is by campos and was so so good!!

A MUST VISIT GUYS!!

Was super lucky to be invited to visit Little Byrd last weekend. Immediately upon arrival I got a good vibe - staff were all super friendly and hospitable, and Rabih the owner is so lovely and welcoming. I noticed the great local following, with many of the patrons knowing the staff by name.

I had the pleasure of having 2 coffees - one hot, and one iced latte. Both were delicious and hit the spot nicely. I ordered the Chilli Scrambled Eggs and absolutely LOVED this dish. I felt like it was a real full meal on a plate, with the eggs, chorizo throughout the scramble, and the mushroom and broccoli offering a bit of veggie goodness! It was the perfect level of spice and just delicious. I of course ordered halloumi on the side, which was just the cherry on the cake. Not to mention an extremely generous serve, which made me very happy!

My husband ordered the French Toast, which he loved. I was lucky to get a little tiny try of it as well - the toast was delicious and fluffy - a great assortment of berries and crushed up cookies on the plate gave the toast some texture and variety. I love it when french toast/pancakes/waffles are served with mascarpone - and it goes a much longer time without melting that ice cream.

All in all a very enjoyable experience, and we can't wait to come back!

Little Byrd is located on Union Road in Ascot Vale. With some seating out on the street, the interior is rustic & inviting, exposed brick walls & wooden tables with coloured cushions along the bench seats. When we visited the place was buzzing, lots of families & regular customers chatting with the staff.

We ordered a latte & dirty chai while we perused the menu & settled on a few dishes to share & fresh juices. The apple & celery juice was refreshing as was the fresh orange juice, perfect for a warm day.

The portobello mushroom & halloumi stack was delicious, served on sourdough with red peppers, avocado, eggs & finished with pomegranate molasses. Such a tasty vegetarian dish.

We also tried the chicken bowl which was a lovely fresh option. The grilled chicken was marinated & had great flavour & was combined with kale, mixed beans, quinoa, broccoli, avocado & beetroot hummus. We loved the freshness of this dish & served with a zesty lemon dressing too.

The Bircher was the perfect way to finish our brunch, light, fresh & plenty of fruit. We loved the generous serve of mango & the zing from the passionfruit coulis combined nicely with the creamy Bircher.

Little Byrd is definitely a hit with the locals & I’m not surprised, the food was impressive and the service was warm & friendly. Definitely one to check out if you’re in the area, thanks so much for having us.
Hello. Imnikki
It was absolutely buzzing when we arrived at Little Byrd on a Sunday morning, and it was soon clear to us why this place is so popular. Little Byrd has everything, from the food to the drinks and also the wonderful service, down pat.

Glancing around, my partner and I were mesmerised by what others were eating. Generous portion sizes, and all looked so delicious. We finally settled on the French Toast and Shakshuka, and we had no regrets at all.

My French Toast was accompanied by berries, vanilla beans mascarpone, cookies crumbs and maple syrup. Nothing fancy, just amazing old-fashioned French Toast made with love. Soft, eggy and buttery bread, fresh and tart berries, the fragrant and creamy nascarpone, and the distinct woody sweetness from the maple syrup. The element of crunch from the cookies crumb added to my enjoyment of this dish immensely.

The Shakshuka was just as amazing as the French Toast. Bright and bold flavours, rich and hearty, and I must also commend the gooey eggs and generous serve of creamy feta. It would be a crime not to use the toast to soak up the sauce down to the very last drop. My partner was rather tempted to ask for a third slice of toast!

We also couldn't fault the drinks. The skinny latte, and dirty chai were impeccable. Of course, fresh OJ never disappoints too!

Thank you to Little Byrd for the invite, and for dishing up such an excellent meal!

Little Byrd is a cute little cafe on Union Road in Ascot Vale, and we were lucky enough to be invited to try their food. The interior has a warming and rustic vibe, with wooden table tops and brick walls, and it’s bustling with customers.

The coffee here is wonderful - possibly one of the best in the area. They also offer shakes, herbal teas, and fresh juices which are perfect on a warm summer day.

Food-wise, we had the Coconut Chia Bowl, the Shakshuka, the Broken Avocado and the French Toast.

The Chia Bowl was delightful. A generous portion of chia pudding, topped with fresh fruits and granola, and coconut cream which made it rich and decadent, whilst still being healthy and refreshing.

The Shakshuka was another stunning dish. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the yolk was still runny and oozy, which paired so well with the sourdough bread. A very warming and hearty dish!

The Broken Avocado tasted just as good as it looked. The combination of pink beetroot hummus and green smashed avocado created a vibrant, colourful dish. The added poached eggs were, of course, poached perfectly with a very runny yolk. A simple dish done well!

For dessert, we ended with the French Toast, and I’m so glad we did! The toast was amazing - so thick, soft and crispy on the outside. Drenched in maple syrup and topped with plenty of berries which gave it a bit of tartness. A must-try brunch dessert!

Overall, we had an amazing time at Little Byrd. Service was efficient and the staff were extremely nice and welcoming. I would definitely recommend checking this cafe out if you’re in the area!

We loved our brunch at Little Byrd! Such a friendly and cosy vibe - the owner Rob is so welcoming and looks after everyone well!

I tried the chia pudding and was not disappointed! The flavours and textures of this dish are delightful. Presentation was gorgeous too.

I am keen to go back to try some more vegan friendly dishes!!

Coffee was great too!
Yumyum
The coffee is creamy and rich. The food is tasty as hell! Service is wonderful. Also this is a kid friendly, warm and inviting place to spend time. I had the Broken Avo... zingy and perfect... with amazing sour dough.
Sally
Came here with friends and family. Very yummy food and friendly staff. Especially liked that they had toys available for children, helped entertain my son!

Quaint spot. One of many brunch cafes along this road.
Quite busy and we're squeezed onto a large table with a couple and a man busy on his mac.

I had the Shakshuka - bland chroizo, tomato sauce and two eggs. Most basic baked eggs I've ever had. Nothing but a lot of sauce. Bread was good

Friends had the eggs and bacon. Looked good but pretty average.

Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ambiance: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Value: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

A great local cafe with cosy decor and friendly staff. My group was immediately greeted by the staff as we walked in and ushered to a table promptly.

I order the Eggs and Istra Bacon and my friend ordered the Shakshuka. I enjoyed the hearty Eggs and Istra Bacon, but the mushrooms were a tad salty. I didn't use the chutney because I didn't know where to use it. Scrambled eggs were good, and the toasted sourdough was delicious with the melted butter. Coffees were great, but tasted slightly burnt.

The waiter charged us another table's bill by mistake, which we didn't realise until we left the cafe. We went back and the waiter was very apologetic and offered a refund of the difference.

All in all, a good local joint for Sunday brunch.
Justin
Love this place. We come here for lunch at least once a week. The food and coffee is always excellent and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

My fav little cafe. Such a cute little place with amazing food and such super star staff! I love coming here, the owner is so lovely and the cafe has a family feel. Smashed avocado is one of the best.

I wanted to take a friend out to this place but the manager insisted on the phone that they don’t take bookings however he assured me that if I come down he will organise and table for us and he really kept up to his promiss. We visited Wednesday and the place was packed with locals, we were seated quickly. I ordered the pulled pork with potato rosti, I was really impressed with the combination. My friend ordered the chilli scrambled and she loved it too. What I like most of my visit is the warm atmosphere and how everyone seemed to share a community in this cafe. Will be back for more when in the area. Thanks for looking after us and accomodating for us on a busy morning. Highly recommended

Terrible coffee. My food tasted fine but I was very disheartened when I touched the plate & I felt something on the under side of the plate. It was a big hard yellow smear. It put me off all my food. Also saw a tall olive skinned man scream at a young girl so that made me so uncomfortable, I just got up & left.
Georgie Mackintosh
Love this place, got such a great local vibe and the food has been amazing everytime I've visited. Very friendly staff and the coffee is great. Place has great style too and an amazing selection of desserts & fresh baked goods in the window. Definitely one of the best breakfasts in the area!!
Ashlee
Delicious food, great service with a smile and nice spot on union road to eat and watch the street. Came here for my birthday brunch with a girlfriend and was pleasantly surprised!
Jam N Scones
Awesome brunch. Delicious intra bacon n eggs and my hubby had the shakahuka. Hands down best shakshuka i've tasted in Melbourne. The owner and his staff were lovely. Definitely be back for some more Turkish fusion.
For_the_1ove_of_coffee
I live around the corner. This place is the t1ts, they ain't phoney. They do great food and coffee, not using all the trendy brands or fad techniques. The owner is always floating about and ready for a chat. Love it here

Wednesday late lunch.
No complaints. Service and attention was spot on so was the Smokey pulled Pork Burger. Heaps of taste and the ingredients are carefully complementing one another. The bun was light and beautifully toasted. The accompanying wedges were superb. Tasted like potato (how many don't these days) and were served without salting.
Had only got the odd coffee here in the past. Will be back again to try a few of the other dishes.
Stace
This is the best brunch place on Union Road hands down. Reasonably priced with generous serving sizes and amazing egg based dishes. The staff are super friendly and service is quick too (compared to some of those oh so hipster places). I am definitely going to be eating my way through the entire menu. The Turkish breakfast and pulled pork eggs benedict was amazing.

Each time I came here I've received very personal service.

Delicious food and coffee but a couple of times (out of the many times I went) it seemed the coffee was over extracted and was extremely bitter. I went back recently and coffee was 10/10 so potentially they have resolved the issues.

Would happily recommend as a cute little venue on the main street of Ascot Vale.

Great coffee and best breakfast on Union Rd. Lemon ricotta muffins are divine. Always provide excellent service and very accommodating/tolerant of kids...which is either a good thing or a bad thing, depending on whether they are your kids!
Jonah McCutcheon
Reliably good food and good service - a great, laid back joint with a local feel. Recommend the fruit salad, the avo smash with beetroot and the Moroccan chicken burger
Riana Eden
Have been here a few times & had different things every time, always consistently great food, service & atmosphere! Gets pretty busy on a weekend but they have always done their best to accomodate! Their shatshuka is TO DIE FOR!! Owner is super friendly & gives a very family orientated vibe, for me the only down fall is that they don't have almond milk so I can't have their coffee but still very highly recommended!!
Sim Hford
A lovely little cafe with great coffee every time. Hearty breakfasts- I recommend the shakshuka!! Wifi, very friendly staff, kid friendly too.

Great place with great food. Owner is always so welcoming to us and everyone that walks in.

Been there a few times and no doubt will visit again soon.

The best cafe on Union Rd. AMAZING food. The owner & staff are really warming and kind, they always make us feel really welcomed and always offer help with my wheelchair access, doors opened and chairs pulled out ready for us! Eaten here upwards of 15 times and going back again this week.

Post-errand Saturday lunch was had a Little Byrd. A cosy little cafe on Union rd. The atmosphere in the cafe is relaxed and friendly and I loved the decor. We had our usual skinny lattes, I had the baked eggs and husband had his chicken and avo (as usual, of course... I married a creature of habit). The food was lovely. My eggs were delicious but there was a bit of egg white which hadn't set which was a little unpleasant (but I fished it out of my dish-hence the 0.5 deduction on rating). Husband was happy with his meal too. A decent place for brunch with friends on a unusually sunny winter's day.

Decided to try a new cafe my with partner. Very lovely , the staff are very attentive and great service. This place is a nice local cafe- with amazing coffee ☕️👌🏼 10/10
Brunch Lover
My new favourite cafe along Union Road! Super busy and nearly everyone who walked in was greeted by name by the male making coffee (who I assume is the owner). All of the staff were super friendly and our coffee order was taken immediately. I ordered the smashed avo with goats cheese and Beetroot relish and my partner ordered the French toast with marscapone, macadamias and strawberries (which I didn't get a photo of). Unfortunately there was a mistake with out order, which saw his meal come out a bit later than mine, but they were all super nice about it and gave us updates on how far away it was. All in all, it was delicious food and coffee with wonderful flavours, in a lovely environment.
Kate Maxy
Love, love, love! Best brunch and Lunch option! The staff are hands down great. Great service and smiles. The coffee is lovely not bitter. The food servings are extremely generous you could almost share ;) I HIGHLY recommended Turkish Big breakfast its delightful, the avocado & beetroot on toast with goats feta is yummy, the eggs with Instra bacon is a great combination of flavours. Always busy on the weekend, the modern industrial decor is nice and not overdone. Best cafe I have been to along Union road.
Charlotte Huddle
One of the best brunches I have had! Extremely friendly staff and great service, with food to match! Coffee was great, Avocado and Beetroot on toast with goats feta was amazing, such a wonderful mix of flavours! The eggs with Instra bacon was generous in size and delicious, also a great combination of flavours. Such a cute atmosphere and decor, I love the exposed brick! Best cafe I have been to along Union road by far :)
Angie
Best cafe in the heart of union road ascot vale Melbourne & if you're a coffee lover this is the place to be & to be seen-join in and hang with the locals at little Byrd
Pyjamas_May
Excellent coffee. A fantastic place for breakfast or lunch. Traditional breaky items or an absolutely delicious Turkish breakfast if you're particularly hungry.
Very friendly staff, very welcoming. This place is very popular with local families due to how warm and accommodating they are. My toddler loves a high five from Robbie!
Fielder6
Good service, excellent coffee. Can be a little slow on weekends as it is usually fairly busy. The staff are friendly. Best coffee I've had on Union rd.
Chellz
Great value for money, owner and staff are so friendly. Noticed a table in the sun as we walked past and quickly grabbed it. I ordered the chicken and roast vege salad and it was absolutely delicious and in no way overpriced at all. Both owner and staff were very welcoming and friendly, this is going to become my new favourite Saturday lunch spot.

I am indeed a big fan of this cafe. It's situated opposite Video Ezy on Union Rd. and is quite small with mostly group table seating. The menu is small too, with only 8 or so items on it. But all the food is excellent and cooked out in plain site, which I always like.
Katherine Chiu
Here they have lots of Middle Eastern dishes such as zatar. They have a great selection of vegetarian dishes. All the dishes here are reasonably priced from $4 (for toast that is) to about $17. They are rated in the Age's Cheap eats guide 2011. They have been featured in the Age's previous cheap eats as well. This place is a dog friendly place and when I got there there was a really cute dog outside with its owner sitting and having coffee. The place was packed as! It featured some students and workers who live in the area and know the owner r
Night_owl
Great little place for coffee or food. Small menu with good variety. Attentive staff and the male owner remembers his customers after not seeing them after months on end. Asks you how you are with a genuine interest in hearing your responce.
The 'Eggs and Peppers' are clearly a favourite for me accompanied by a coffee.
My mate never shuts up (lol) but the 'French Toast' kept him quiet for a good 20mins! So that gets a thumbs up too!
The atmospher is great and I will recommed this place to friends and families with kids.

Has Never Disappointed!. Little Byrd has become my favourite cafe in and around Ascot Vale. I've tried them all and I keep coming back to Little Byrd. The décor is amazing and just love the atmosphere. The coffee is perfect every time, the service is amazing and the food is excellent. The place is yet to disappoint. I recommend everyone to try it!

Fo for the Food. Ate lunch there with my wife and father in law and we all liked the food but the coffee was just drinkable.

Coffee. Awesome coffee made wit love!

Amazing and friendly. Little Byrd is my local and a twice a week regular spot for my partner and I. Always greeted enthusiastically by the owner who makes a great coffee. The staff are super friendly and never get our order wrong. Whoever thought of that beetroot relish that comes with the avocado, feta on toast deserves a medal! Would never think of going anywhere else in my area for breakfast as $38 for breakfast for two people is rare in Melbourne. 10/10 would recommend!
Rhys Owen
Incredibly welcoming, friendly staff - unfortunately, the coffee was mediocre at best.
Lanadawn
Been a regular here for years but been really disappointed lately. Seem to be new staff every single week, no familiar faces, and these new staff are always getting orders mucked up (they don't write it down). A very long wait for very average food, last week I ordered the bacon & egg dish with tomato, spinach, beans and Swiss cheese. It came out 35 mins later with raw spinach leaves & tomato and a slice of cold unmelted cheese... Wasn't happy at all!
The owner is quite friendly and makes nice coffee but his constant staff turnover is quite disappointing and is affecting the quality of my once favourite cafe!
Tara Conron
Love this cafe! Gorgeous coffee, great food and reasonable prices. Has lengths on any other cafe in Union road!
CoastalDiner
Delicious Breakfast. This is one of my favourite breakfast spots in the area!

Very friendly staff and remember all the regulars coffee orders.
Their eggs are always cooked to perfection and bacon can not be faulted.
The avocado is always fresh and their home made baked beans and the perfect way to start a weekend!
Kitkat011968
Spanakopita needs adjusting. Good place for a coffee and some food that is just that little bit different. The spanakopita used to be fantastic when the other owners had it, but nowadays the spanakopita is okay - it needs to be reheated in a toaster oven or under a griller. Microwave not good guys! Leaves it soft - it needs crunch!!
Miss Daphnee
Nice coffee, friendly staff and a good variety of interesting breakfast options. Tick!
Watson
Looked cool from the outside and always seems to be busy but found ourselves disappointed. Forgettable food, forgettable coffee.
Soupisnotameal
Consistently Good. I have been here about 4-5 times for breakfast and coffee over the past month or so and every time my opinion has reaffirmed. Really friendly staff, tasty food, good coffee. Excellent value.
Give the home made baked beans with poached eggs, goats cheese and avocado on toast a shot.
Jimmy
Best little cafe on the street. Food is amazing & it's all organic. Coffee was very nice too. Friendly staff, greeted with a smile as soon as you walk through the door. Definitely my weekend cafe from now on. I recommend everyone to try it for a special service!
TWINKIE
It's okay. Food is great, but service could be improved on.. Food is pretty good, and the atmosphere is nice. The service is pretty average, except the one man who I assume is the owner. It's easier squeezing water out of a rock, than to get a smile from the wait staff.
Melbourne Foodie
Crap.... Did not enjoy one thing. Friends who live in the area had talked up this cafe. I couldn't wait to try it but will never go back. We were seated outside on this tiny table that's on an angle with uncomfortable chairs that will not accommodate big butts. You have to go inside to read the breakfast menu, so enjoy standing their starring at the wall while you get in the way of people. Breakfast servings are small and come out on these crap oval shaped plates. Coffee- ordinary. Waitresses- unfriendly. Overall it was a frustrating experience
Sylvia The Cat
1st visit this morning. Service was average but saved by one very enthusiastic bloke! Coffee was good, breaky was delicious! Smashed avo, goats cheese, beet root relish. I added poached eggs. Bit pricey however I'd definitely return.

Love this place the spanakopita is to die for and service great ! Weekend visits a must
EmmaGG
Great coffee and such cute qaint surrounds. Breakfasts and homemade Greek delights are delish.

Problem with this area is that u can get away with average coffee .. Preferred it when they used genovese. Much better coffee across the road.
Good Food Hunter
Sensational breakfast. Dropped in here on a Sunday morning just after 10 (glad I did because at 10:30 it was packed!). Friendly service, beautiful food, great coffee, and a very relaxed vibe. I'll be back for sure!
James
Worst Service. Melbourne is full of some great little places to grab a coffee.... This isn't one of them. I was served by a girl that had obviously spent more time choosing the tattoos on her chest than learning to smile. To top off the extremely unpleasant waitress with PMS, the coffee was really average. It was overall a very disappointing experience considering the good reviews. Maybe I'm picky? I just think that someone can be nice to you and serve you something that doesn't taste like instant coffee.... What sort of a cafe doesn't have eftpos?
Colin
The service here is great, the vibe really nice and the breakfast was lovely. The coffee is a bit average, which lets them down. But, overall, this place is ok
Foodhunterxxx
Average coffee, average food. Just save up your money, spend it somewhere.
Mark
Exceptional value, compfortable venue, great people... The meatball wrap is to die for... Best in town... Coffee is good
Waxman Nicholas
Really friendly, speedy, personable service - fresh ingredients, interesting dishes. The menu limited, yet versatile and the meals are great basics but can lack flavour... Great staff and atmosphere. Number 1 on union rd.
