Wow! This cafe has it all. Excellent coffee, reasonably priced breakfast and lunch, gorgeous looking cakes. The staff here are lovely and am so glad to have found this cafe. Definitely have my future custom!
Jami ..
Fresh food and great staff but didn't like the coffee.

Had a delicious breakfast with the family. The place had a great vibe to it and it was clean. The staff were very polite. Will definitley come back. Highly recommend it.

A nice cosy place where you can enjoy a good coffe and/or a tasty breakfast. Very clean throughout, warm atmosphere and excellent service.

Nice staff and service.

Very tasty meals. Canadian breakfast had light fluffy pancakes although the sausage was disappointing. My wife had the corn fritters which was delicious and she rated it in her top two for corn fritters! We both had an iced coffee and iced mocha which was very tasty. Th premises was clean and well presented.

First impressions were good... Unfortunately really disappointed in the coffee and food. I politely asked for the coffee to be made again as the soy milk was burnt/curdled, but sadly the new coffee was no better. Struggled quite a bit to communicate with the waiter regarding a vegan change in a dish and then was disappointed with the whole dish.

Very friendly little cafe, relaxed and a good place to actually be able to have a chat without feeling rushed. I ordered my coffee hot and it was came put deliciously steaming! I just had a sandwich from the cabinet which they happily added ingredients to for me and was very nice, and my sister had a burger and chips which she enjoyed! I shared some chips and they were fresh and yummy.

Ordered the corn fritters, sounded nice on the menu but when it came out there was barely anything on the plate. Was supposed to come with halloumi but there was none, just the fritters and a few salad leaves. Not worth the price at all, would not eat here again.

Loving the lights at Rye Cafe 💡💡💡💡 The coffee was very nice and the sweets looked very delicious 😋😋😋 #melbournefood #marinabrunchnmunch

Alright, this cafe is in a strip mall, so my expectations didn't start high. I went in mid week for a brunch. The sandwich display at the front is a joke, they look like they had been slapped together yesterday by someone who hated their job.I got the big breakfast, it was all garbage. Especially the 'baked beans' the smell and taste made me want to hurl, they're clearly Tinned beans with a strange mix of thyme and oregano mixed through them and some capsicum and garlic. I also didn't know the place was halal, normally not a bother but when you're expecting bacon and you get a strange beef type meat it doesn't fill the void. The sausage looks like one from Coles and the hash brown is a frozen one.All around nothing here is done with love, time, respect or for value. You could do it all at home and get a better product for cheaper than the cost of the whole meal. The 2 stars is for the coffee being hot. I expected it to be cold after seeing my meal.Avoid this place like the plague.

Great and friendly service although the food takes awhile to serve.
The soy chai latte and soy latte were almost perfect.
Corn and zucchini fritters with avo were delicious. Was able to take away the poached eggs as I don't eat them.
Nice location near the local shopping center and flemington racecourse with ample of car parking.

this cafe was the best thing i found in Melbourne. i was in town for work at the caravan show ,and had coffe each morning ,also breakfast a couple of days.. staff were fantastic..well organised, and the coffee was great...(i had tryed a couple of other shops but rubbish compared to here) top marks are well deserved..

Usually stop by on my way to work for the "tradie" deal (coffee and egg and bacon brioche). The breakfast brioche is easily one of the best tasting items. Although the coffee is good, it can range from average to amazing, just depends on who's making it.

The juices are also quite nice and freshly squeezed.

Nice cafe in the show ground village. Easy parking. Had zucchini fritters, it was moisture inside crunch on top, perfect poached egg, well presented but doesn't look a large serve but surprisingly filling. Coffee is well made. Staff friendly. A tick for me. Will come back.

Worst coffee in the world !!!!! I paid $4.5 for a double shot latte , tasted like a cup of milk. Awful. Go to the coffee man "provata" instead. He makes the best coffee in ascot vale

Rye cafe is the pretty girl in class that doesn't know :) went in expecting it to be similar to a food court because of location but has food with pre thought and passion, coffee with experience and a smile in the morning

Rye Cafe is a really cute and family friendly cafe located within the Showgrounds Village Complex in Flemington with new owners who took over 6 months ago. I was invited to dine by Rye Cafe and all opinions expressed are my own. I turned up with Baby A at 9AM on a Saturday morning and there were heaps of parking in the shopping complex carpark (SCORE!). There wasn’t a lot of people in the cafe at this time (perhaps the party people needed a sleep in) and we bagged a table. The decor is very modern turning hipster-y and oh so casual (just the way I liked it).
DAMMIT JANET I LOVE FOOD
Located in a quiet shadowy corner within the bustling Showgrounds Village, Rye Cafe is often overlooked by many people passing by. However new owners Alanna and Eddie are in the midst of a revamp, so it won’t be long before we see a new and improved Rye Cafe that will undoubtably be noticed by all.

Honestly the food quality and coffee is amazing! The falafel salad is just mouth watering! And the smoothie and different drinks selection is also exciting. All the staff were also extremely inviting. And now they have a new menu which im also excited to try

The pie was awful. Pastry was tough as an old boot. Dry & clearly heated in the microwave. Filling lacked any flavour & tasted like the cheap mince, full of gristle. The chai latte was weak, lukewarm & lacked any spice. The service was chatty & attentive when I walked in, but the loud, unprofessional conversations that carried on while I forced down my meal was the final nail in the coffin. Never again. Do not bother.

Local hit and miss. Depending on the barista your coffee may be fine or watery. Likewise, the hospitality will differ depending on the staff and day of the week. Sometimes cheerful and enthusiastic, otherwise dismissive and bored.

P. S. You would also expect for a place that deems itself 'Rye Cafe' to feature rye bread and produce on it's menu. Most of the sandwiches are in fact composed with brioche or ciabatta/panini. This place would probably do better with some consistency from its food to its coffee to its service.

Ham cheese and tomato toastie very good, lots of ham and bread is delish. Long black is very watery, and way too hot. Seems like the coffee is nice but really can't enjoy it having so much water added!

Coffee and milkshake. Nice to sit outside, get work done whilst using the free wifi. Range of cakes, sandwiches and meals. Closes a bit early for my liking. Else, a reasonable option for subsequent visits.

Never again. Came for breakfast before the circus, had potential but after the 'waiter' forgot our order 10seconds after taking it I knew we were in for a treat. Orders messed up, coffees not delivered was our entertainment whilst waiting for our overcooked boring food. Our coffees were the only saving grace. Poor service poor food.

Continous terrible arrogant service. Happened more than once. Simple coffee order. Not busy. The barista took the order Then walked into the kitchen. Then came out to deliver food to other customers. Then disappeared. More customers come in ordered coffee with another waitress. She proceeded to make their coffee and deliver it to them. She then realised we were still standing there. Instead of apologising to us she just yelled out to the kitchen to ask what our order was. Arrogant and rude. Certainly not worth going there especially with the local competition they have in Ascot Vale, Kensington etc. Change your attitude.

Terrible service. Saturday 10.30am. Two waitstaff. One customer in the store. Got our coffee order but did not ask us if we wanted food. Had menus on our table. Started serving customers coming up to the counter and ignored us when we were already seated. No signs saying it's not table service. Waitstaff seen drinking smoothies and chatting with kitchenhand while we were still waiting for them to ask us for our food order (15 minutes in). We just left. Disappointing. Please train your waitstaff in customer service, especially if customers have menus still on their table. We just walked down the road to urban provedore and had delicious pulled beef burgers there.

Below Average. Went to grab a coffee on my way to work thinking I would get Rye ago WORST mistake I could have made!! The coffee was so bad and I don't normally have sugar but it needed it but not even the sugar could fix the taste. I will definitely not be back

Tradie Delight. I have been stopping by Rye now for a couple of weeks, and thought they deserved a great review so here I am! It's great to be able to find top coffee AND breakfast on the run. Despite the early hour these guys are ready to go, and my fav is to grab a bacon and egg on brioche roll, and a couple of fresh baked muffins. I've never said the word brioche in my life and I'm pretty sure u still can't pronounce it properly but hey, it beats the hell outta maccas! I've passed on the good word to my tradie friends. So Rye, get your friendly team ready, cause more early morning biz is coming you way!

Went to Rye today for late breakfast with friends. All our meals were different and absolutely delicious!!! So delicious we decided to sit around and have lunch as well. The lunch was .. Again delicious!! I had the lamb salad, it melted in my mouth! The service is outstanding. The man who was working in there was respectful and always coming over replacing our water bottle and asking us if we needed anything else, unlike some cafes were service is just a burden to ask for. I will be making this my local now so happy

The place to be. Been hear in the past, wasn't impressed.....was informed that there was new staff and a new menu. What can i say they have turned it around. Fast and friendly service, great coffee, awesome fresh juices and great menu. The produce was so fresh and tasty, i had the dukkah eggs it was amazing and my partner had the big brekky, WOW very unique to rye with there house made potato rosti, which topped it of. Theres also fresh rolls and wraps to choose from and house made dessert. Great job guys keep it up, you've earned yourself a new local customer.

Avoid the Coffee. Went there for the coffee, nice servers but the coffee was terrible no matter how much sugar I put into it.

Rye Big Breaky. Went there just after 7am for a big breaky. Both the lady and the man working were super lovely -great customer service! Big Breaky was HUGE!!! The eggs were perfectly poached and the bacon super crunchy. My coffee was also delicious. Will be coming back for sure. Thanks Rye!

First visit disappointing, second chance visit, shouldn't have bothered. Terrible service, by stoney faced, miserable waitress. Ordering seemed to be an inconvenience - would I recommend or return again - no way.

Bad owner. I went there the 1st time for coffee only. saw the menu and came back a week later for food. but was disappointed by the serving quantity.
I've never seen a $6 fresh juice served in a 300ml glass ever before. even that was not up to the brim.
Then ordered the beef burgers and they had run out of brioshe buns. being the 2nd strike , I wanted to have a word with the manager since it was $16+ .
Let me tell you, Never have I seen a manager who doesn't have people skills. absolute ZERO Tact. she had her guard up, she didn't give me a chance to explain where I was coming from. Then later agreed to reduce $2 off the price & quickly stormed off in.
I realized what just happened and decided to cancel my order. she decided to waive the juice charge.
it does seem like a friendly place with great food. but, I guess I came in at the wrong time. 2pm sunday.
all the best to them..
