Our party of 4 visited Riverside on a cold wet and windy night. The restaurant was warm and welcoming. We ordered an Alessia pizza and the Sott’olio for a shared entree. Pizza was nice and the Sott’olio was served with lovely crusty bread. Our main choices were beef schnitzel chicken salad and calamari. Meals were delicious and plentiful and the wait staff were lovely. Recommend.
Went here with some friends today, to be honest not expecting much. Was blown away by the food, we had bruschetta, wood fire pizza and antipasto platter for entree. For mains we had the seafood platter, calamari salad and parma. Food was sensational, including my sons kids meal (schnitzel and chips) which was real chicken! I would have been happy with his meal for myself

I came to Riverside with the family and the kids immediately ordered the Pizza shaped like Mickey Mouse. They quickly devoured them. I had the 450g rib eye medium rare and was expecting a bone of 150g. To my surprise.... no bone. That to me was a good thing. The wine selection is not extensive but sufficient. Service was great. We will definitely be returning.
Came here for a function. It is a large building on a golf course, and a part of it is restaurant and another part is function room. It would be great if there is more signage around the place since we walked around to find the function room. Ambience was great. You get the view of golf course. Function room is a good size. Food-wise, we had this buffet of mushroom risotto (tasty!), beef steak (thinly sliced but no taste), baked chicken fillet (was okay), some baked veggies (no marinade, just lots of oil), calamari (cooked really well), chips (was really nice) and salad (okay). Overall it was pretty good place, food and service. A good place to hold a function.
What a lovely place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. Our morning coffees and soul warming. The staff are so friendly and competent. The owner always makes a special effort to greet us. When we don't make it for our daily breakfasts, we try to get there the day after. The food is amazing. Have never been disappointed. Thank you.
What an amazing venue RKE is. The food, the service...all superb. Vince and the team do an amazing job. RKE is also highly family friendly which makes it a winner with clapped out parents like us...

An overall lovely dining experience. Staff were attentive and friendly. The children's were well catered for with pencils and paper to draw on and the children's menu was reasonable and well priced. The pizza is fantastic! It is a must have. The steak was cooked to perfection and was a generous portion. Highly recommended 👍
One absolutely gorgeous bartender would love to come back such a beautiful accent with amazing manners. As for the rest. Could do with a few new resumes...

Hidden Gem. We've visited now for lunch and dinners - a true little italian gem - amazing fresh made pastas and traditional wood-fired pizzas. A warm friendly and very professional atmosphere.

Little Italy on the Golf Course ?. Was told these guys do good food, went there on a Friday night and the place was pumping .
We all had different meals from Pizza to steak ..
Home made pappardelle was amazing , pizza was up with the best of them , steak and side cooked perfect .

One let down was the desserts , they looked great but seem to be a little stale , ricotta cannoli soft and italian donuts hard , wrong way round guys ,,,,,
Will be back for the Sunday BBQ and try one of their special nights ..

About time this hidden gem of a location has been unearthed. New restaurant owners certainly know food. Celebrated mums birthday, great atmosphere, scenery, service and food. Will certainly be back. Take away true Italian style wood fired pizzas is a nice bonus for nights when you want a nice pizza but would prefer to stay home. This is just what our area needs. About time!

We keep coming back to this treasure and seriously this place is sadly overlooked. It has to have the best Italian style pizza in town. Never mind Doc or +39, this pizza is just as good if not better and fantastic scenery to match the food. It's fabulous!!

Very Impressed. I decided to book Mum's birthday lunch here even though none of us had been before and so glad I did!
Stunning location overlooking the golf course, with plenty of parking. Staff were all very friendly from the moment we arrived, promptly setting places for two last minute guests. Menu had a lot to choose from. All food was fantastic & presented well. Portions were very big. Special mention to the salmon fettuccini & the tapas sharing plate.
Service was very attentive and prompt. Water was often changed for fresh jugs and empty plates cleared quickly.
Seating was very spacious and it was nice to have a laugh without feeling like we would disturb other guests.
The live music entertainment was a great touch and added to the atmosphere. The male singer (sorry didn't catch his name) was amazing and even sung happy birthday to mum as her cake was brought out! He then asked what music she liked and then performed her favourite song!
Please keep up the good work guys! We will definitely come back soon!
Amazing food great service!. I was recently recommended this place...it was amazing! Ive lived in the area for years and never heard of this place before, but we will definately go back! last nights dishs was among the best ive had in melbourne, and the service was fantastic! 10/10!
Riverside seems to be opening regularly for dinner (tues-sun) now......so we decided to give them a go tonight. The meals we selected off the new menu were all terrific.....very enjoyable. Couldn't complain about the service either.....friendly & attentive. The standard of meals has improved, so maybe they have a new chef too?...... Anyhow, it's great to see they have picked up their game.....keep it up!
21/4/16 Have been back a few times since & Riverside has been really consistent with the quality of food & service. Had a lovely pasta dish with fried eggplant in a Napoletana & basil sauce. My partner was pleased that his steak was cooked just right also.
A cool little cafe by the river. I've only been here once for breakfast. My god. The scrambled egg and bacon sarnie. The most amazing breakfast food. Possibly ever. And it's really not that expensive! Seriously looking forward to having lunch here (though knowing me, I'd probably get the sarnie again!)
Great atmosphere and food. I have visited many of times and I find the food great and an even better view. I love that I can finish a round of golf and then head up for a cold drink and a meal with all my golfing buddies. The food is great and I especially love all the sarnies (sandwiches). Overall a great venue for the whole family, good fun and great food
Nice Breakfast place. This is another option for the locals for a lazy weekend breakfast in beautiful riverside surroundings
It is a relaxing place and the open space & attentive waiting staff makes it as an excellent choice to finish off the long walk or bike riding
BTW - I found the review from DIORGIRL below is rather offensive and subjective...
I am a proud local and I think I am far to be classified bogan here... did she ask those people she refers to where do they live? My neighbours are hardly described like that. Note, this restaurant is located in golfcourse/tennis and frequented by people from other areas visiting to play golf there? Last time I played tennis, there was group of people from Foostrcray played there...(note this is Factual - not assumption)
I am suprised that the Urbanspoon didnt delete her review...
Anyway - this place is recommended for light lunch or brunches on the weekend ....you wont be dissappointed...
