After my first visit to the balwyn store, was keen to try the one in ashburton for the new specials!
Quick takeaway service, well priced food and 'jam session' burger was damn good! Cooked well with delicious flavor and fresh turkish bread buns which I loved!
Just could've used more heat to the combo to give it a kick!
Also got the harissa loaded fries and they were absolutely AMAZING! Cooked perfectly and flavor 10/10!

Cheezee Chicken burger. Second time at this chain. These are becoming my favourite chicken burgers. There's about 8 on offer. Decent chips too. Will return.
How good is the chicken!! This is consistently a favourite for the whole family and we generally have it a couple of times a month.
Favourites include the deluxe wrap (chicken AND bacon - the best), a chicken salad pack (pictured) for when you need a healthy boost or the simple half chicken and chips (with chipotle dipping sauce) for a speedy dinner option.
Chicken Central is a boutique Charcoal Chicken store which specialises in quality produce. When you bite into your burger, wrap or whatever it may be, you know it’s grass fed chicken and it consistently tastes awesome!

The chicken here is some of the best in Melbourne - it is always moist and tender and the chips are heavenly! Service is always very good - both fast and friendly.
Best chicken burgers in Melbourne hands down might not be the biggest place but omg they really know how to do a good burger and top quality chips have never been let down have also got roast chickens and salad from there also top notch can’t wait to go back again!! Keep up the good work chicken central!!
The heavyweight burger is bloody huge!! Moist and flavoursome chicken breasts, double bacon, cheese and lettuce. Good crunchy chips. A small chips could satisfy two people. Comparable price to Nandos or Grilled.
Free range, perfectly cooked succulent chickens. Extras fries,salads etc. are first class. Staff are extremely friendly. No hesitation in recommending Chicken Central.
DO: The chicken obviously. But the chips burgers and salads are just as nice.
DON'T: Expect to eat in, since seating is pretty limited.
TIP: Park at the rear, purchase a burger to have there and a chook for dinner when you get home. Awesome that there's a Bakers Delight next door for bread. Dinner... sorted!

I have been following the Chicken Central on Instagram for a while and today I finally was in the right place for lunch: Ashburton.
The hype for burgers has reached the sky but CC certainly delivers a classic with a few funky twists. It is not just your standard charcoal chicken shop, but more of a chicken burger bar.
I have ordered the Mr President ($10.50) plus bacon ($1) and a small serve of chips ($4). The burger was super tasty, dripping double cheddar cheese that made love with a grilled free range chicken breast drizzled in their special presidential sauce.
Oh boy, I was so happily full that I couldn't finish the "small" chips (the serving size is ridiculously huge).
Perhaps the buns weren't the best I had and the chips were killed by too much salt but I guess that's how chips get tastier.
They accept both cards and cash for payments and please do yourself a favour and get their chicken on your plate!
Chicken burgers are delish. The chips are crispy and yummy. We've had this for dinner three nights in a row because it was so tasty. The chicken breasts are succulent and free range. I've ordered the featherweight and added cheese and the light Turkish bun is totally delishy. Chips are crispy, hot and delish. Highly recommend.
Great local chicken shop. Stands out from the rest by selling only lilydale free range chicken and trendier salads ie quinoa and couscous salads as well as your usual Greek/coleslaw etc.
Good chips and of course the Chicken burgers....well they are just the 💣 that soft Turkish bun and juicy chicken - 5/5 just for those!
Their roast veg is not great though, could add eggplant/zucchini even feta to jazz it up.
Chicken Central has the best chicken burgers in Australia- seriously! We love coming here to indulge in one of their glorious chicken burgers. The staff are always friendly, it does get super busy in here because they're food is amazing but there is never more than a 10minute wait. If you ever get a chicken burger or whole chicken from here, you will never be able to eat chicken from anywhere else- mark our words! I don't know what they baste their chicken in but it is ridiculously flavoursome and we are dying to know the secret!
TIP: Do try the Deluxe Chicken Burger- one of our favourites and don't order a burger without chips- they're amazing too.

I had the deluxe my hubby had the muchacho they were hot fresh but we found we were very thirsty afterwards . We think they had too much garlic in them . The chips were fantastic. We will go again & try something different .
Cheeseburger was exceptional. Didn't expect it to be that big! Lots of flavour, but personally, too much mustard on the burger which was all I could taste after a few bites. President fries was great, too. Lots of bacon, which I love! Such a big serving size therefore couldn't finish it.
These burgers are bomb. Some of the tastiest chicken you'll come across, and the chicken central dude is really nice. 10/10 - would recommend. Try either the Bird of Paradise burger or the Mr President. Do it. DO IT NOW.
Best roast chicken, to the point where I'd buy some from here even when I lived on the other side of town. Tasty basting, moist flesh and never dry, crispy chips that never used old oil, and best of all very creative fresh salads including quinoa beetroot with feta , roast vegetable with a twist, Greek salad, and so forth. It's always busy here and there's a reason for that. They cater for events, and are community minded. The kind of business that is an asset to its customers. Highly recommended.
The chooks and burgers here are top notch tasty. Love the BOP and the one with the hot sauce whose name escapes me for the moment. Service is always good and quick. Salads look good and fresh too. Highly recommended!
I love Chicken Central. The familz that owns it are so nice and friendly whenever zou go in there. The chicken roasted fresh daily and super delicous. The burgers and salads are amazing. The chips are also so good. To improve I would say if thez could please make wraps.
The deluxe chicken burger with extra chicken... so delicious. I'm not usually a grilled chicken burger kinda guy but this is exceptional. Like really exceptional. Delicious!
Is it still a burger if it doesn't have beef? I don't know but this "burger" definitely hit the spot. Decided to try the @chicken.central store in Hawthorn on my way home and was pleasantly surprised. A delicious chicken breast, tasty cheese, American cheddar, mustard, mayo, tomato sauce and pickles with added bacon on a Turkish bun.

We hitted up Chicken Central one weeknight when neither of us had time to cook. What P brought back was one hellava big chook, it fed the three of us for two nights. . I have to admit, the chickens at Chicken Central were mighty tasty. They were seasoned very well and I wonder whether they had perhaps been brined for the flavours seem to penetrate deep into the meat. The skin was crispy and it wasn't the fatty soggy mess of a roast chook one would normally get at Woolies. We also ordered a chickpea and rocket salad. As salads went, it was a nice change from the Greek salad/coleslaw selection one would normally see at some charcoal chicken places.
LOVE the burgers!! Less than $10 for a delicious chicken burger. My partner bought burgers from here and drove 10mins home - the burgers were still warm as they were in individual cardboard boxes.
Will definitely be returning!
Good local chicken shop for when you can't be stuffed. Nothing too special except for the cool salads.

I love a good chicken burger (Chicken Sandwich if you’re from the States), but my focus has been on my unrelenting quest to find Melbourne’s best burger. And by burger, I mean beef burger. But there’s been something recently that has called out to me – telling me to give chicken a go. Actually that something has been a someone, whoever is behind the instagram account @chickencentralashburton. They sounded pretty confident that their burgers were worth the drive, and their instagram photo’s looked pretty damn good. They pretty much threw down the tasty chicken burger gauntlet… So when Friday night rolled around, Katie and I decide that it was time to pick up the chicken gauntlet – it was chicken burger time. Driving past chicken central at 7:30pm the place was pretty busy – there was a line out the door – good signs. Once I got a park and managed to shoulder my way through the hungry hordes, I decided to go the special – the president and make it a double. The president comes with a special sauce, two slices of American cheese, caramelised onions, lettuce, loads of pickles (Yes!!) and char grilled chicken breast. Katie went for the BOP, which has bacon, pineapple, sauce and lettuce. Both Burgers came in a lovely, soft and fresh Turkish bread bun – perfect for a chicken burger, but unfortunately these would fall apart with a beef burger. It was a nice change from the really dense, sweet, Brioche style buns I’ve been eating lately. Both Burgers were also under $10 normally – which is great value. Straight up – The chicken burgers here are delicious. Often, a chicken burger can be chewy and dry, these were just so succulent. My burger was particularly good – I loved the sauce and the pickles – they didn’t stint on the pickles, and it matched so well with the American cheese and the caramelised onions. The bun was a prefect match to the juicy chicken

Chooks. Best Chicken in the street...BUT the salads are rather boring.,once ordered the spinach , chick pea and pumpkin.... All I got were chick peas.... Not enjoyable at all....

Best Burgers!. So so good. Pricing is pretty average, around $9 or so for a burger - definitely worth it though. I live ages away from Chicken Central but I've travelled a long way to go, and will continue to make the journey!

Delicious!. The chicken burgers are amazing, I don't think I've ever had one so generous in size and delicious! The chicken and chips are always very impressive too. I have also tried a pear salad and thought that it was lovely. Will most definitely continue to go back again and again.
Yum. Not your average charcoal chicken place, the BBQ chickens are juicy without being greasy and nicely spiced. The burgers too are a winner, with a 2 to 3 pieces of spiced chicken breast and a variety of fillings. Will be back!

Tender, juicy and consistently good.. I've been to the Malvern shop numerous times and now cause the Ashburton store is closer I go there. Felt like it was about time I posted a review... Picked up a chicken, roast potatoes and two salads last night. The chicken was perfect, that aroma, the taste and perfectly succulent - not dried out. The potatoes were just like I do at home. I got the brown rice salad which I love, and the quinoa salad for my partner. The best part of this is that I can pickup something on the way home and not feel bad because we didn't cook for the family. Always consistently good. Love it - keep up the good work guys. Fresh, Juicy, Succulent!. Popped in tonight to get a couple of chooks for the family. They were so moist and full of flavour and the left overs will be used for the kids lunches tomorrow. Sur beats cooking!

Very Tasty!. My hardest decision is to choose between the Burger or Chicken. 9 times out of 10 I get both! (If you've been there you will understand) Give me a Bird of Paradise and a Quarter Chicken and Chips and I'm a happy man!
Even happier when my girlfriend comes along because she orders the Chicken Deluxe and we upgrade to half a chicken and chips. If we are lazy, we get a whole chicken and use it for sandwiches the next day...hehe
Im sorry I must disagree with the above review. Chicken Central is delicious !! I have never had a bad experiance .the burgers are all always so yum and the salads always fresh, and the chicken.....YUMMO !! its great the next days for sandwiches too.

This place is, quite easily, the best shop to get your anything-chicken-meal from. Their serves are generous and ultimately very yummy too. Chicken Central is my family's favourite shop! Finally, the staff here always go over and above to make sure you are happy with your meal. Overall, the best.
5 stars because chicken central will forever have the best chicken salt. had my regular chippies last night and molly really pulled through with that extra chicken salt. 10/10 will be returning for the chippies
Great chicken and chips. Very generous serving of chips to boot. Gravy was really good too. You'd struggle to find better chicken than this.
The Big Fat Fried (BFF) Budget is exceptionally good with a very crispy but moist patty.
I also had "The Jam Session" burger which is also very crispy but with a nice after-burn from the Asian Slaw.
